Abstract

The Value Stream Mapping (VSM) is a mapping tool for viewing of process flow and information flow, which can help to differentiate value added and non- value added in production processes. This study aims to analyze the productivity of CPO using the VSM method (case study: CPO processing in PKS PTPN V Sei Galuh). PKS PTPN V Sei. Galuh is engaged in the palm oil processing industry that produces CPO and kernels. The research method used fish bone diagram, VSM and Process Activity Mapping (PAM) diagram to analyze CPO processing productivity. The result of this research revealed time of PAM of 1.4226 seconds/kg, while the standard time of processing company was 1.0292 seconds/kg. That was meant the value of processing productivity of 72.34%, which it needs to eliminate wastes to achieve the company target. The productivity of CPO produced an average of 66.11% for research period. Then,the current VSM was defined processing time total of value added of 1.289 seconds/kg, non-value added of 0.036 seconds/kg and activities of necessary non-value added of 0.1008 seconds/kg. Furthermore, after result of processing of the Future Value Stream Mapping (FVSM) can be eliminated the processing time total became 1.2028 seconds/kg,which value added of 1.102 seconds/kg, non-value added of 0 seconds/kg and necessary non-value added of 0.1008 seconds/kg. Based fish bone diagram analysis can be identified the wastes due to the raw material, working method, human, equipment and work environment. The largest waste contributor was improving raw material quality, because it lead to longer processing time.Keyword : Mapping, Waste Production, Fishbone Diagram

Abstract

Robots are tools that can help alleviate human work [1]. Robots also have more functions than humans, such as having a high level of accuracy, have speed in completing the work, can do repetitive work in large quantities, and can reduce the cost of production. In this research, we evaluated the singular condition of a 3-dof RRR parallel robot prototype in order to have a trajectory planning in accordance with the design result. The trajectory Planning is done by considering kinematic constants by using the parameter of DH method and the Jacobi matrix. From the test results, the workingspace area that can be used for trajectory 3R parallel mechanism is in the range of 280 mm in the direction of X axis, 225 for mm Y axis direction, 240 mm in the direction of A and 215 mm for axis direction of the axis B.Keywords : Trajectory Planning, Parallel Mechanism, Parallel Robot, Workingspace, Singularity

Abstract

The surface roughness of a machining process is a very important factor in the field of production that is one of the turn-milling process. Turn-milling is a combined machining process of turning and milling with complete tools (cutting) where workpieces and tools rotate together. The turn-milling process can be classified in orthogonal turn-milling, tangential turn-milling and co-axial turn-milling. The resulting surface surface quality is also affected by the parameters of the machining process in the form of rotation of the workpiece and the rotation of the tool. The purpose of this research is to know the effect of parameters on surface roughness and optimal Parameter to surface roughness by doing tangential process of turn-milling. By varying the parameter variables, the surface roughness generated in this study is influenced by the rotation of the workpiece and the rotation of the tool. The higher the tool rotation the lower the surface roughness. As well as the rotation of the workpiece the higher the rotation of the workpiece the finer the surface results. The optimal parameter is a rotation tool -2500 rpm with a rotation of 1000 rpm objects found in the roughness class N6 with a roughness value of 1.282 μm where the roughness value is lower than the other roughness values.Keywords: Turn-Milling, Tangential Turn-Milling, Rotation, Surface Roughnees

Abstract

This paper aims to compare between method of AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) and fuzzy AHP to evaluate the OEE values on screw press machine in PTPN V Sei. Pagar. The analyzing of criteria and sub-criteria in the hierarchy model to rank alternative selection actions to minimize the screw press machines losses was done in this paper. Two critical losses occurring in the screw press machine were setup and adjustment losses, and equipment failure losses. The result showed for the AHP method, the most influential criteria for setup and adjustment losses were workers with a value of 0.567 and the highest alternative value of action for periodic checking. The equipment failure losses were obtained the most influential criteria of the machine with a value of 0.444 and the best alternative selection action that was the human resources development. For Fuzzy AHP method of setup and adjustment loss, the most influential criteria was workers with value of 0.555, and best alternative action was periodic checking. Equipment failure loss was obtained the most influential criteria for machines with a value of 0.444 and the best alternative selection action was the human resource development. From the comparison of both methods, it can be concluded that the AHP method was more simple in terms of data processing. However, the fuzzy AHP method was revealed more accurate values due to not containing subjective judgment in terms of selection action to improve the effectiveness of the screw press machine.Keywords :OEE, AHP, Fuzzy AHP, Screw Press

Abstract

The Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is one of the methods of maintenance activities, which aim to preserve and maintain the quality of the equipment or machinery. This research aims to analyze the performance of thresher machine using OEE method (case study: threshing station in PT.Tri Bakti Sarimas). Thresher is used to separate the cook fruitless from bunches. The research was carried out on one thresher unit in PT. Tri Bakti Sarimas, which engaged in palm oil processing industry that produces crude palm oil and kernel. The research method used the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) approach to analyze the value of OEE and 5S. Analysis over a period of one month and grouped by five days were obtained the OEE value for period of 1-5 April of 72.50%, 6-10 April of 62.22%, 11-15 April of 69.17%, 16-20 April of 57.92%, 21-25 April of 46.60% and 26-30 April of 59.17%. The OEE value of the thresher machine was still belowed the standard OEE word class, which was over 85 %. The main cause of the low OEE values of the thresher machine was compared word class value due to requiring a time for the repair and maintenance processes. Then the idling and minor stoppage losses and set up/adjustment losses factors of the six big losses contributed significantly in lowering the OEE, an average percentage was 48.23 % and 43.06 % respectively. For 5S the problems that occur at the station were mostly found on the condition of the production floor that was dirty, un-tidy, and un-organizer. Therefore, the thresher machine electiveness and productivity may improve by adoption the TPM and 5S methods in the company case study.Keywords: OEE, SixBig Losses, 5S, Thresher

Abstract

The Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is one of the methods of maintenance activities, which aim to preserve and maintain the quality of the equipment or machinery. The OEE in maintenance activities may include measuring the level of availability, level of performance, and level of quality of the machines to produce a product. This research aims to analyze the performance of machine using OEE method (case study: the machine screw press in PTPN V Sei Pagar). The research was carried out on screw press machine in the PTPN V Sei Pagar. The company is engaged in palm oil processing industry that produces crude palm oil and kernel. The research method used the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) approach to analyze the value of OEE based on the Statistic Software of SPSS 21. Analysis result over a period of eight weeks of OEE values were obtained on a screw press,which was 47.3%. The OEE values of the screw press machine were still below the standard of OEE’s world class, which was over 85.4%. Based on analyzing of the value of six big losses that was known as the affecting factor of the low value of the OEE on the screw press machine, that was found the very significant losses on the set up and adjustment losses. The value of OEE on the set up and adjustment losses of the screw press was 45.6%. Using cause and effect diagram was obtained the root causes of the low value of OEE due to very high the schedule of stand by the machine. By using SPSS 21 software proved that each of six big losses factors have a relationship and affect the value of OEE with significant value under 0.05.Keywords : OEE, Six Big Losses, Cause and Effect Diagram, SPSS 21

Abstract

This research aims to analyze a turbine machine of gas power plant in Tanjung Datuk, Riau by using Overall Equipment Effetiveness (OEE), which one of tool of TMP method to increase effectiveness, to improve the function and performance of machine/ equpment. To analyse of OEE values were calculated the value of availability rate, performance rate and quality rate that can used to eliminating six big losses in machine/equipment. The research methodology was collection OEE data, calculation of six big losses. Mean Time to Failure (MTTF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) then statistical analyse of OEE and six big losses.MTTF and MTTR data using index of fit . From the OEE calculations obtained on the gas turbine engine was stillbelow world class (66.89%) and the target at company (90%). From the analysis of of six big losses known to affect the low value of OEE gas turbine engine that was reduce speed losses. The calculation of index of fit value of MTTF on gas turbine blade was 1,008.86 hours (42 days) and MTTR value of 1.37 hours. Therefore it would be advantage to the company in this case study to implement the pillars of TPM such as planned maintenance and autonomous maintenance to improve the effectiveness and performance of gas turbine engine for stability in supplying electricity.Keywords : Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), TPM, Six Big Losses, MTTF, MTTR.

Abstract

Wheelchairs are tools for humans who experience illness, disabilities, and injuries that cause walking difficulties. There are many types of wheelchairs on the market, while wheelchairs that function to help users defecate flexibly have not been widely sold in the market. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a flexible and multifunctional wheelchair that can assist the users in carrying out their activities. This study aims to develop a design of the multifunctional wheelchair. The designing of multifunctional wheelchair based the FAHP (Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process) method. The use of the FAHP was to select the optimal design and selection of the best alternatives among wheelchair’s indicators of design proposed. The results of calculation of weight values for wheelchair design were obtained a percentage of alternative 1 of 48% and alternative 2 of 52%.

Abstract

The elbow fixture in the welding process is a supporting tool to holder the work-piece in the welding process. This tool is made in Do It Yourself (DIY) in micro-business. However, in its application there are problems. The solution provided to overcome these problems is the development of tools with the Design For Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) method. The goal is to create a portable device design that is easy to carry and to calculate the time and cost of the manufacturing process and welding fixture assembly. The development of tools is carried out by looking for more complex problems through a consumer need questionnaire and a product development questionnaire. Data obtained from the development questionnaire can be used as a concept design (sketch) for analysis based on DFMA. The DFA (Design For Assembly) is carried out to simplify the assembly design and facilitate the assembly process. The choice of material is the basis for the quality of the product. The DFM (Design For Manufacture) is done to determine the component manufacturing process design, calculate the cost of materials and manufacturing costs. From the DFMA process, an innovation design for the welding process consists of 22 components with 12 different types of components. The design of innovative elbow aids in the welding process is called adjustable angles welding fixture. The cost used to manufacture this tool is Rp. 87,953 and the assembly and manufacturing time is 97 minutes 47 seconds.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify, analyze and evaluate the influencing of defects factors at the crusher knife reconditioning process in PT Andritz Pekanbaru. In this research adopted the Quality Control Circle (QCC) method. The QCC method is a quality control that is focused on the process of Plan, Do, Check, Action (PDCA). The research was carried out with 8 stages of PDCA, namely determining the theme, determining the title, finding the source of the problem, solving the problem plan, implementing, evaluating, standardizing, and determining the next plan. After observing the crusher knife reconditioning process, there were 10 defects that occurred in the crusher knife reconditioning process, which were porosity of 673 cases, curling tip of 78 cases and 57 of fewer cases followed. The repairs were carried out using the QCC method. The results of improvements were proved by reducing of the percentage of total defect porosity from 13% to 2%. Therefore, the repairs were successfully implementation, which decreasing of the defect porosity of 11%.
