Abstract

Menurunnya produksi cabai merah di Sumatera Utara disebabkan oleh berkurangnya luas panen, serangan hama penyakit dan kurang tersedianya unsur hara yang ada di dalam tanah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman cabai merah bermikoriza dengan aplikasi biochar dan pupuk kimia. Penelitian dilakukan di Gang Metcu Desa Guru Singa Kecamatan  Berastagi Kabupaten Karo yang dilakukan pada tanggal 24 Mei 2015 sampai 27 November 2015. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok Faktorial yang terdiri dari 2 faktor perlakuan. Faktor pertama yaitu dosis Biochar (A) dengan 4 taraf yaitu A = 0 kg biochar /m2; A1 = 0,5 kg biochar / m2 ; A2 = 1 kg biochar / m2 ; A3 = 1,5 kg biochar / m2. Faktor kedua yaitu jumlah pupuk kimia (B) dengan 4 taraf yaitu B0 = 0% dosis anjuran ; B1 = 100% dosis anjuran ; B2 = 75% dosis anjuran ; B3 = 50% dosis anjuran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan pemberian biochar kendaga dan cangkang biji karet dan pupuk kimia dapat meningkatkan  pertumbuhan (tinggi tanaman,diameter batang) dan produksi (jumlah buah, bobot buah) tanaman cabai merah bermikoriza.

Abstract

Soybeans are a type of agricultural crop commodity in Indonesia that has benefits for society, especially as a source of vegetable protein. The aim of this research is to measure the viability test of soybean seeds and the soaking factor of polyethylene glycol due to shade stress. The research was carried out in the Tissue Culture Laboratory at Asahan University from December 2023 to January 2024. The researchers used a completely randomized factorial design (CRD) with 2 factors: first, soybean variety due to shade stress consisting of four levels, including V1 = Dena 1, V2 = Dena 2 , V3 = Denasa 1 and V4 = Denasa-2. The second factor is the duration of soaking in polyethylene glycol with a concentration of 7.5% consisting of four levels (P0) (control), (P1) 3 hours, (P2) 5 hours, (P3) 7 hours. Observed variables consist of maximum growth potential, germination capacity (%), growth simultaneity (%) and vigor index. Research data was analyzed using variance analysis procedures to determine whether there was an effect of each treatment. The soybean seed variety treatment was effective on the maximum growth potential of the Dena-1 V1 variety (96.67%), germination capacity (57.08%), growth simultaneity (59.17%) and vigor index (70.83%). The long soaking treatment of Polyethylen Glycol (PEG) had no significant effect on maximum growth potential, germination capacity and vigor index. but the real influence on the simultaneity of growth with results is P2 (5 hours) 44.17%. There is no interaction various seed varieties and the length of soaking in Polyethylen Glycol (PEG)

Abstract

Soybeans are the main food crop commodity in Indonesia which is ranked third after rice and corn. The aim of this research is to determine the characteristics of soybean varieties that are able to grow and produce due to shade stress. The research was carried out from November 2023 to February 2024. The research used a Factorial Randomized Group Design (RAK). with the first 2 treatment factors Shading Stress, including P0 = No shade, P1 = TBM and P2 = TM. The second factor is the variation in soybean varieties consisting of six levels including (V1) Mutiara 1, (V2) Agromulyo, (V3) Dena 1, (V4) Dena 2, (V5) Edamame and (V6) Devon 1. Observed parameters include plant height, leaf area index, number of pithy pods and harvest age. Research data was analyzed using the ANOVA variance analysis procedure to determine whether there was an effect of each treatment. The results showed that the effect of TBM shading (P1) could increase plant height (48.18 cm), and treatment without shading (P0) increased the number of pithy pods (45.66 pods). The effect of varietal variations shows that the best performance is the Edamame (V5) variety on plant height (49.64 cm), Dena 2 (V4) produces the highest number of pods (40.62 pods), and Agromulyo (V2) produces the highest harvest age (83 days). Analysis of shade and various varieties that were carefully assessed on the growth and yield of soybean production showed that it had no real influence on all the parameters observed.

Abstract

Penyediaan sayuran sehat dan bergizi dengan metode microgreen merupakan peluang yang dapat dimanfaatkan oleh kelompok PKK Desa Tanjung Sari dalam pemenuhan sayuran keluarga secara mandiri guna pencegahan stunting. Sayuran microgreen memiliki keunggulan dipanen lebih awal (7-21 hari setelah tanam), lebih bergizi 4-40 kali, lebih tinggi dibandingkan sayuran dewasa, variasi tanaman banyak warna yang menarik dan teknik budidaya yang mudah. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PkM) bertujuan untuk : 1.Meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan dan sikap (PKS) kelompok PKK Desa Tanjung Sari dalam budidaya tanaman dengan metode microgreen. 2. Memberdayakan kelompok PKK dalam swamedikasi sayuran microgreen untuk pembuatan jus dan smoothie sebagai minuman sehat bergizi pencegah stunting. Pelaksanaan kegiatan menggunakan metode training dengan pemberian materi manfaat microgreen, budidaya microgreen dan penyajian microgreen untuk dikonsumsi. Setelah peserta mendapatkan materi dilanjutkan dengan praktik secara individu dengan tim PKM. Peserta pelatihan adalah kelompok PKK Desa Tanjung Sari. Hasil evaluasi angket sebanyak 90% peserta pelatihan relatif puas dengan kegiatan pemberdayaan kelompok PKK Desa Tanjungsari, Deli Serdang dalam implementasi kreasi pangan berbasis microgreen menuju Desa Tanjungsari bebas stunting. Sebanyak 100% peserta mendapatkan pengetahuan berkaitan dengan stunting dan cara pencegahannya melalui konsumsi microgreen, 84% peserta telah memahami dan terampil dalam melakukan budidaya tanaman microgreen dan 100% peserta berniat melanjutkan kegiatan penanaman tanaman microgreen secara mandiri untuk pemenuhan sayuran sehat bergizi keluarga serta 88% peserta tahu dan dapat mengolah hasil panen microgreen menjadi makanan dan minuman sehat keluarga dan semua peserta (100%) meminta agar kegiatan ini berkelanjutan

Abstract

This service activity aims to encourage farmer to plant refugia around growth fields. Effort to increase the natural enemies population are very important to maintaining sustaibility of field ecosystem. The main problem for farmers is the lack of knowledge of farmers in using refugia plant as environmentally friendly in integrated pest management technology. The ecological engineering with refugia plants is a strategy to create habitats for natural enemies. This community service was carried out in Sentang Village with target partners, namely Bina Mangrove Farmers Group. Implementation methods are Pretest, Counseling about refugia plants, selecting suitable refugia plants species, Practical training and demonstration of ecological engineering with refugia plants, Post test. The results of this Community Service concluded that there was an increase in the farmers' knowledge and skills using refugia plant as environmentally friendly in integrated pest management technology.

Abstract

Aphelenchoides besseyi, a nematode, can infect rice resulting in the white shoot disease, which decreases the germina-tion rate and even causes seedling death. A. besseyi has recently been reported to mainly attack the organic rice varie-ties especially Pandanwangi and Ciherang in the Pasar Kawat, Beringin District, Deli Serdang, Indonesia. This research investigated A. besseyi via morphological, molecular, and morphometric approaches. The nematodes were observed in an area of 2000 m2, divided into five sample plots each with an area of 400 m2 on which Pandan Wangi and Ciherang rice were cultivated. Nematode morphology was observed using a stereo microscope at a 10–100x magnification. Mo-lecular identification employed PCR, followed by sequencing and phylogenetic analysis. This nematode possessed typ-ical morphological characteristics namely a longer female body (457.07–738.86 µm) than males (385.23–505.29 µm), and cured spicules, 17 to 21 µm long. The tail was ribbon-shaped with a tapered tip that had a mucrone with 2–4 points. Sequencing and phylogenetic analysis revealed that A. besseyi isolated from Indonesia (Deli Serdang/North Sumatra) was closely related to those from China, India, Russia, Taiwan, and Portugal with a 98% homology level.

Abstract

This community service activity addresses two main issues in Marindal II Village, Patumbak Subdistrict, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province: the high volume of organic waste and the need for fish feed production technology. The partner is a Women Farmers Group that manages chicken farming, goldfish and tilapia cultivation, and a banana plantation. Organic waste, particularly chicken manure, will be used as a medium for cultivating Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae, which produce maggots as fish feed. In addition to chicken manure, other waste such as vegetables, fruits, and kitchen scraps are also utilized. However, maggots alone are insufficient to meet the fish's nutritional needs, so an additional feed composition in pellets is required. Pellets are essential to prevent fish from being selective in their diet, thus ensuring their dietary needs are met. The community service team conducted awareness activities on waste utilization and nutritious pellet production for the partner and the community to promote the use of waste and prevent environmental pollution.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the student management of MTs Negeri 1 Purworejo, the implementation of student programs in an effort to improve student achievement, and the implementation of student programs in an effort to shape student character at MTs Negeri 1 Purworejo. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection methods use observation, interviews and documentation methods. Data validity was carried out using data triangulation. The data analysis technique uses a flow model according to Miles and Huberman, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results show that: 1) Student management at MTs Negeri 1 Purworejo is carried out by planning, organizing, actualizing and supervising student programs in the field of student development. 2) Implementation of student programs in an effort to improve student achievement at MTs Negeri 1 Purworejo is carried out through fostering academic achievement by the curriculum sector, fostering non-academic achievement through extracurricular activities and building achievement. 3) Implementation of student programs in an effort to shape student character at MTs Negeri 1 Purworejo is carried out through firstly developing student discipline, secondly character building by integrating character values in learning tools, integrating character values in P5RA, self-development or habituation, exemplary activities, and nationalism activities and patriotism.Keywords:   Manajemen Kesiswaan, Prestasi Siswa, Karakter Siswa.
