Abstract

The development of digital technology has changed the communication patterns of Indonesian society, especially among the younger generation of social media users. The phenomenon of code-mixing between Indonesian and English has become a form of linguistic hybridity that reflects the social dynamics and digital identity of the younger generation. This study aims to describe the patterns, pragmatic functions, and social implications of code-mixing practices on social media. The approach used is a qualitative descriptive approach with a critical sociolinguistic paradigm. Data were obtained through digital observation (netnography) of public posts on Instagram, Twitter (X), and TikTok during January–June 2025, with a total of 120 data units that met the purposive sampling criteria. The analysis was conducted using the model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana (2014). The results show three dominant forms of code-mixing: at the word level (40%), phrases (32.5%), and sentences (27.5%). The most prominent pragmatic functions are the expression of identity and style (34%) and the affirmation of meaning (28%). Socially, code-mixing functions as a performative strategy to build a digital self-image and negotiate the global-local identity of the younger generation. This phenomenon marks a shift in communication norms toward more expressive, inclusive, and global forms. Thus, code-mixing is not seen as a threat to the purity of the Indonesian language but rather as a form of creative adaptation to the dynamics of digital communication. This research contributes to the development of digital sociolinguistic studies and offers a basis for Indonesian language preservation strategies that are more adaptive to the era of globalized communication

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan untuk membangun sinergi antara akademisi dengan Kepolisian Negara Republik Indonesia Daerah Sulawesi Selatan Resor Toraja Utara dalam penanganan dugaan tindak pidana defamasi. Melalui pendekatan Participatory Action Research (PAR), kegiatan ini mengintegrasikan keilmuan linguistik forensik guna memperkuat objektivitas, profesionalisme, serta validitas dalam proses penyidikan. Akademisi berperan sebagai Consulting Expert dan Testifying Expert dalam menganalisis unsur kebahasaan alat bukti yang berkaitan dengan dugaan pelanggaran Pasal 310 ayat (1) KUHP. Analisis dilakukan dengan menelaah tindak tutur ilokusi deklaratif yang berpotensi menyerang kehormatan atau nama baik seseorang. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa kolaborasi antara akademisi dan aparat penegak hukum mampu menghasilkan langkah hukum yang lebih proporsional dan berbasis bukti ilmiah. Selain itu, kegiatan ini memperkuat literasi hukum dan etika komunikasi masyarakat serta menjadi model kolaborasi interdisipliner linguistik forensik dalam konteks penegakan hukum di Indonesia.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan untuk memperkuat sinergi antara akademisi dan aparat Kepolisian Negara Republik Indonesia Daerah Sulawesi Selatan Sektor Moncongloe dalam penanganan dugaan tindak pidana defamasi sebagaimana diatur dalam Pasal 310 ayat (1) Kitab Undang-Undang Hukum Pidana (KUHP). Melalui pendekatan Participatory Action Research (PAR), kegiatan ini melibatkan kolaborasi antara dosen Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, dosen Universitas Negeri Makassar, dan aparat kepolisian dalam proses penyidikan perkara. Akademisi berperan sebagai saksi ahli bahasa dan saksi ahli hukum pidana dalam menganalisis alat bukti berupa rekaman video dan Berita Acara Pemeriksaan/Interogasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa peran saksi ahli bahasa sangat penting dalam menafsirkan makna kebahasaan yang mengandung unsur “menyerang kehormatan atau nama baik seseorang”, sedangkan saksi ahli hukum pidana berperan dalam memberikan pendapat profesional mengenai terpenuhinya unsur-unsur tindak pidana dan relevansinya dengan norma hukum. Sinergi antara kedua ahli ini membantu penyidik melakukan analisis secara ilmiah, objektif, dan proporsional. Kegiatan ini juga menunjukkan kontribusi nyata dunia akademik dalam mendukung penegakan hukum berbasis bukti ilmiah serta memperkuat kerja sama kelembagaan antara perguruan tinggi dan kepolisian.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kejahatan berbahasa yang ditemukan dalam komentar di akun Instagram resmi Lambe Turah Entrnt dengan menggunakan pendekatan linguistik forensik. Metode yang dipakai berupa analisis deskriptif kualitatif, meliputi tahapan pengumpulan data dari komentar pengguna, pencatatan data, dan analisis deskriptif untuk mengidentifikasi pola-pola kejahatan berbahasa. Hasil dari studi ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat tujuh jenis kejahatan berbahasa yang berhasil dikenali dalam komentar selama periode 21 Desember 2024 hingga 18 Februari 2025, yaitu: 1) pencemaran nama baik (dengan lima variasi bentuk), 2) ujaran kebencian (dengan lima variasi bentuk), 3) penghasutan (dengan lima variasi bentuk), 4) pembohongan (dengan dua variasi bentuk), 5) ancaman (dengan satu variasi bentuk), 6) kekerasan (dengan lima variasi bentuk), dan 7) pelecehan online (dengan empat variasi bentuk). Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya penerapan hukum serta kebijakan moderasi yang lebih ketat di platform media sosial guna melindungi individu dari pengaruh merugikan dari kejahatan berbahasa. Disarankan agar media sosial lebih proaktif dalam menciptakan lingkungan digital yang aman dan sehat, sehingga dapat meminimalisir risiko terkait pencemaran nama baik, ujaran kebencian, dan bentuk kejahatan berbahasa lainnya. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa kejahatan berbahasa di media sosial, terutama di akun Lambe Turah Entrnt, memiliki dampak yang cukup besar baik bagi individu maupun masyarakat secara umum. Keberagaman bentuk kejahatan berbahasa ini menunjukkan perlunya perhatian yang lebih besar terhadap isu ini. Dengan meningkatkan kesadaran mengenai dampak negatif dari kejahatan berbahasa dan menerapkan kebijakan ketat, langkah-langkah tersebut dapat membantu melindungi pengguna media sosial sekaligus memperkuat interaksi yang lebih positif di platform digital.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Smart Board learning media and its effectiveness in improving early reading skills among first-grade students at SD Negeri 5 Gu, Central Buton Regency. This classroom action research was conducted in two cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The participants were 15 students, and the data were collected through observations and oral tests, then analyzed descriptively using percentage techniques. The results showed that the Smart Board media increased students’ learning activity and early reading ability. Mastery learning improved from 40% in Cycle I to 86.66% in Cycle II, surpassing the classical mastery criterion of 80%. Students also demonstrated higher motivation, participation, and accuracy in recognizing letters and reading simple words. Thus, the Smart Board effectively enhances early reading skills in first-grade students

Abstract

This research is a classroom action research (PTK) carried out at UPT SPF SDI Bontomanai with the aim of improving student learning outcomes using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in science subjects. The subjects in this study are class VIB students total 20 students. The instrument in this study is in the form of multiple-choice questions total 20 numbers. The data analysis technique in this study consists of quantitative data analysis. The results of this study show that there is an increase in student learning outcomes in each cycle using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. In the pre-cycle, an average score of 60,25 was obtained with a completion percentage of 50% and in Cycle I an average score of 66,75 with a completion percentage of 65% and in Cycle II an average score of 76,25with a completion percentage of 80%. This data shows that the application of the Problem Based Learning model has an effect on the learning outcomes of students in science subjects

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ critical thinking skills through the use of the Poster Comment method in the Indonesian language subject for fifth-grade students at SD Inpres Pajagalung. The Poster Comment method is a learning approach that encourages students to actively provide responses to posters containing specific information or issues, thereby stimulating their critical and analytical thinking abilities. This research employed a classroom action research (CAR) approach with two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were fifth-grade students at SD Inpres Pajagalung. The results showed an improvement in students’ critical thinking skills from the first cycle to the second cycle. This improvement was evident from the increase in the average scores and the percentage of students achieving mastery learning after the implementation of the Poster Comment method. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Poster Comment method is effective in enhancing students’ critical thinking skills in Indonesian language learning.

Abstract

Aulia Khaerunnisa. 2025. Improving Reading Skills through the Global Method for Third Grade Students of UPT SPF SD Negeri Pannara Makassar City. Undergraduate Thesis. Department of Primary School Teacher Education, Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar. Supervisor I: Tasrif Akib, Supervisor II: Amal Akbar. This study aims to improve the reading comprehension skills of third grade students at UPT SPF SD Negeri Pannara Makassar City through the implementation of the global method. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 26 third grade students in the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected through learning achievement tests and observation sheets, then analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively. The results showed an improvement in students’ reading comprehension after the application of the global method. In the first cycle, most students were still categorized as low to moderate, and the mastery percentage did not meet the expected target. However, in the second cycle, a significant improvement occurred, with 88% of students achieving a score above 75 in accordance with the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM). This finding proves that the global method is effective in helping students understand reading materials gradually, starting from sentences, words, syllables, to letters, thereby facilitating a comprehensive understanding of the text. Thus, the application of the global method can be used as an alternative learning strategy in teaching Indonesian language to effectively improve elementary school students’ reading comprehension skills.
