Abstract

Workplace noise is one of the physical factors that is often overlooked, although long-term exposure can have serious impacts on cardiovascular health. In workers exposed to noise, blood pressure and heart rate often increase as the body's response to physical stress. This physiological mechanism triggered by prolonged noise can result in an increased risk of cardiovascular disorders, including hypertension and heart rhythm disorders. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of noise on increasing blood pressure and heart rate in workers in the workshop area, especially the dynotest room. This type of research is observational with a cross-sectional research design. Conducted in December - May 2024 with the object of research on workers exposed to noise in the workshop area, especially the dynotest room. Data were analyzed using the Logistic Regression test. The total sample was 40 workers in the workshop area and dynotest room. Data were collected from observations, room noise measurements, blood pressure, and heart rate. Based on the results of the study, the average results for the dynotest area were 83.5 dBA, while for the dynotest room, the average results were 117.8 dBA. The results of statistical tests of blood pressure and pulse rate in workers obtained a sig value = 0.001. These results indicate an increase in blood pressure and pulse rate due to noise. It is recommended for the Company to monitor workers to find out the disorders caused by noise.

Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis cases at the Manukan Kulon Community Health Center, Surabaya have increased in the last three years. The increase in cases is caused by a lack of lighting and air circulation in the house, because windows are rarely opened so the house becomes dark and damp. The aim of this study was to analyze the influence of physical environmental conditions at home on the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis. This study implemented a case-control design, involving a sample of cases and controls, 90 people each, selected using a simple random sampling technique. Data about risk factors was collected through observation and then analyzed using the Chi-square test. The results of the analysis showed that the p value for each factor was the physical environment of the house = 0.000. It was concluded that the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis in the Manukan Kulon Health Center working area was influenced by the physical conditions of the environment. Keywords: pulmonary tuberculosis; the physical environment of the house; risk factors ABSTRAK Kasus tuberkulosis paru di Puskesmas Manukan Kulon, Surabaya telah meningkat dalam tiga tahun terakhir. Abstract

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The high rate of pulmonary TB in the working area of the Barengkrajan Health Center can be caused by the physical conditions of the house such as the type of wall, type of floor, ventilation area, lighting, temperature, humidity, and house occupancy density that does not meet the requirements of 17.9% (2,386 houses). The purpose of the study was to analyze the risk factors for the physical condition of the house on pulmonary TB in the Barengkrajan Health Center Work Area. The method used is observational with an analytical approach and case control design. The sample size is 32 cases and 32 controls using simple random sampling method. Data were analyzed using odds ratio. The results showed that the OR for the type of wall was 0.873, the OR for the type of floor was 1.696, the OR for the ventilation area was 1.457, the OR for lighting was 2.647, the OR for humidity was 1.64, the OR for the density of occupancy was 2.896, and the OR for conditions was large. physical house is 2,707. The risk factors for the occurrence of pulmonary TB are the physical condition of the house, type of floor, lighting, humidity, and residential density of the house, and those that are not risk factors for pulmonary TB are the type of wall, ventilation area, and temperature.

Abstract

The performance of an industri is influenced by several factors, one of which is the productivity of its workforce. The decrease in work efficiency and productivity can be caused by the working climate, including working air temperature, working air humidity, moving air velocity, and temperatures associated with a hot workplace. In addition, inadequate conditions, such as uncomfortable weather that does not meet the criteria given, can result in a decrease in work capacity which in turn causes a decrease in work efficiency and production. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between labor characteristics and electrolyte levels in the blood of workers. The research method used was observational analysis which was carried out in a cross sectional manner. Sampling was carried out using a direct random approach, and the required number of samples was 31 people from a total population of 33 workers in the manufacturing department. Observation and measurement of bivariate, univariate, and descriptive data are the methods used in the data collection process. The findings show that workers have a 100% working climate above 28.2OC, withpeak temperatures reaching 30.9OC. Based on the findings, there was no relationship between workers' nutritional status and electrolyte levels in their blood (p value = 0.326; p > 0.05); however, there was a correlation between the age of the workers and their blood electrolyte levels (p value = 0.007; p 0.05); there is no relationship between years of service and electrolyte levels in the blood (p value = 0.213; p > 0.05); and there is no correlation between the electro workers

Abstract

Religious tourism is one of the fastest-growing tourism sectors in Indonesia. However, the increasing number of visitors each year, combined with inadequate maintenance of sanitation facilities at religious sites, may elevate the risk of disease transmission. This study aimed to evaluate the condition of sanitation facilities at the Syaikhona Kholil Religious Tourism Site in Bangkalan. A descriptive survey design was employed to assess several key sanitation indicators, including the provision of clean water, wastewater disposal, waste management, toilet facilities, healthcare facilities, fire extinguishing equipment, and educational signage. The findings indicated that the overall sanitation facility score was categorized as "moderate" (63%). Specifically, waste management (75%) and toilet facilities (77%) were rated as moderate, while healthcare facilities (20%) and fire extinguishers (20%) were deemed inadequate. Educational signage achieved a moderate score (50%). The study concludes that several sanitation components at the site fail to meet required standards. Improvements in facility maintenance, waste management, healthcare provision, fire safety measures, and public health education are recommended to enhance sanitation standards, promote visitor safety, and reduce the risk of disease transmission.
