Abstract

Kompos perveg merupakan kompos yang terdiri dari bahan organik yang mampu meningkatkan pertumbuhan vegetatif tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kompos perveg terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi bawang merah. Percobaan dilaksanakan di lahan kering ultisol di Kelurahan Korong Gadang, Kecamatan Kuranji Kota Padang, ketinggian tempat 15 m dpl, dari April - Juli 2025. Percobaan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan perlakuan dosis kompos perveg terdiri dari 6 taraf yaitu 0 ton/ha, 5 ton/ha, 10 ton/ha, 15 ton/ha, 20 ton/ha, dan 25 ton/ha. Variabel yang diamati yaitu tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, jumlah anakan, jumlah umbi per rumpun, bobot basah umbi per rumpun, bobot basah umbi per plot, bobot kering umbi per rumpun, bobot kering umbi per plot dan produksi per hektar, dan kualifikasi umbi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan pemupukan kompos perveg berpengaruh terhadap jumlah anakan, jumlah umbi, bobot basah umbi per rumpun, bobot basah umbi per plot, bobot kering umbi per rumpun, bobot kering umbi per plot dan produksi per hektar. Dosis kompos perveg terbaik yaitu 25 ton/ha dengan produksi 28ton/ha. Untuk meningkatkan produksi bawang merah disarankan menggunakan kompos perveg dengan dosis 25 ton/ha.

Abstract

These soils are subject to periodic flooding, leading to acidic conditions and low fertility. This study aimed to determine the role of dolomitic lime and Azolla sp. liquid organic fertilizer in enhancing corn yields on alluvial soils. The experiment utilized a completely randomized design (CRD) factorial with two factors. The first factor included three dolomite lime dosage levels: 0, 2, and 4 Mg ha−1. The second factor was levels of Azolla sp. liquid organic fertilizer: 0, 50, and 100 ml L−1. Each treatment was repeated three times, resulting in 27 experimental units. Data were analyzed using ANOVA with the F test, followed by the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at a 5% significance level. Observations included soil pH, plant height, Leaf Area Index (LAI), weight of 100 kernels, corn dry yield, and liming and fertilization efficiency. The relationship between variables and yield is expressed as: Yield = -10.032 + 1.007 pH + 1.796 LAI + 0.17 weight of 100 kernels; R2 = 74.9%.  The highest corn yield was 7.35 Mg ha−1 with a liming efficiency of 30%. Applying 100 ml L−1 of Azolla sp. liquid fertilizer resulted in a yield of 7.23 Mg ha−1 with a fertilization efficiency of 28%.

Abstract

Simpang Tanjung Nan Ampek Village, located in the Danau Kembar Subdistrict of Solok Regency, is one of the key potato-producing areas. Potato production in Solok Regency has reached 28,939 tonnes per hectare (BPS, 2023). To date, potato cultivation in this region has been heavily dependent on synthetic fertilisers and high levels of pesticide use, which can have detrimental effects on both biotic and abiotic components of the environment. One viable solution to mitigate these impacts is the application of local microorganisms, particularly Plant Growth-Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR), which are well-known for their ability to enhance nutrient availability, promote plant growth, and improve overall plant health. This community engagement programme aimed to increase farmers’ knowledge regarding the role of PGPR in enhancing potato growth and productivity. The activity was conducted in Simpang Tanjung Nan Ampek Village, Danau Kembar Subdistrict, Solok Regency, in February 2025. The programme employed three main methods: (1) socialisation activities to raise awareness of the functions and benefits of PGPR, (2) training sessions on PGPR propagation techniques, and (3) the practical application of PGPR on potato crops. The programme yielded positive outcomes. Farmers gained a better understanding of the benefits of PGPR, as well as the skills required for its propagation and application on potato plants. The educational and hands-on approaches used in the programme significantly improved the farmers’ knowledge and competence in implementing PGPR.
