Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the length of weight, the growth patterns and the biological conditions of freshwater crayfish, Cherax quadricarinatus, in two different locations namely river and lake.  Sampling in Ralik river of Southeast Minahasa, used a sibu-sibu fishing gear (salapa) by traversing the river (opposite the current) from the point of the pick up location until the sampling point taken. As for sampling at Tondano Lake of Minahasa, it was carried out by buying directly from local fishermen who used bubu as a fishing tool. Furthermore, samples from these two locations were analyzed at the Freshwater Bioecology Laboratory of FPIK UNSRAT Manado.The results obtained from this study are the linear equation of the relationship of the length of weight in the river for male lobsters W = -1.761049+ 3.1153 log L, and W = -1.647836 + 2.957268 log L for female lobsters; in the lake W = -1,494 + 2,8495 log L for males and females W = -1,388 + 2,7198 log L. The growth pattern of male and female lobsters in river and males in the lake is isometric; whereas females in allometric lakes. The value of the biological condition of the river male losbters ranged from 0.90 to 1.14 with an average value of 1.004 ± 0.06, whereas in lake male lobster the value of the condition factor ranged from 0.83 to 1.23 with an average value of 1.004 ± 0.09. The value of the condition of river female lobsters with a range between 0.82-1.18 with an average value of 1.004 ± 0.89 and the condition factor of lake female lobsters ranged from 0.90 to 1.11 with an average value of 1.001 ± 0.06. This shows that the body condition of a fat lobsters were good enough. Keywords: Freshwater Lobster, Long-weight, Growth pattern, Factor of biological conditions. ABSTAKTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan panjang berat, pola pertumbuhan faktor kondisi biologis dari lobster air tawar Cherax quadricarinatus di dua lokasi berbeda yaitu sungai dan danau. Pengambilan sampel di Sungai Ralik, Minahasa Tenggara menggunakan alat tangkap sibu-sibu (salapa) dengan cara menyusuri sungai (berlawanan arus) dari titik lokasi pengambilan sampai batas pengambilan sampel dilakukan. Adapun pengambilan sampel di Danau Tondano Minahasa, dilakukan dengan cara membeli langsung dari nelayan lokal yang memakai bubu sebagai alat tangkap. Sampel-sampel yang diperoleh selanjutnya dianalisis di Laboratorium Bioekologi Perairan Tawar FPIK UNSRAT Manado.Hasil yang didapat dari penelitian ini yakni persamaan linier hubungan panjang berat di sungai untuk jantan W = -1,761049+ 3.1153 log L, dan W = -1,647836 + 2,957268 log L untuk betina; di danau W = -1,494 + 2,8495 log L untuk jantan dan betina W = -1,388 + 2,7198 log L. Pola pertumbuhan lobster jantan dan betina di sungai dan jantan di danau adalah  isometrik; sedangkan betina di danau allometrik. Nilai faktor kondisi biologis lobster jantan sungai berkisar antara 0,90-1,14 dengan nilai rata- rata 1,004±0,06, sedangkan lobster jantan danau berkisar antara 0,83-1,23 dengan nilai rata-rata 1,004±0,09. Nilai faktor kondisi lobster betina sungai berkisar antara 0.82-1.18 dengan nilai rata-rata 1,004±0,89 dan lobster betina danau berkisar antara 0,90-1,11 dengan nilai rata-rata 1,001±0,06. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kondisi badan lobster cukup baik. Kata kunci : Lobster air tawar, Panjang-berat, Pola pertumbuhan, Faktor kondisi biologis.

Abstract

The aims of this study, 1). To find out the number of species and the abundance of coral fishes; 2). To find out the biomasssa of target fish in carnivorous and herbivorous groups. Data collection was carried out at 5 meters depth using the Underwater Visual Census (UVC) method. The area observation is 150 m2. Coralivorous fish are found with 8 species and are categorized as medium. 28 species of target fish were found from carnivorous fish (13 species), and herbivorous fish (15 species).  For total individual number that is 81 individuals and a density that is 3240 individuals/Ha. The highest number of individuals is found in herbivorous fish. The high value of the ecological index shows the stability of the community and the ability of the environment that allows species of fish to grow and develop in their habitat. The target fish is generally in the class size of 16-20 cm and 21-25 cm. In general, reef fish from the group of herbivores are most commonly found in this location.Keywords: Coral Fishes, Likupang Kampung Ambong ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian, yaitu 1). Untuk mengetahui jumlah spesies dan kelimpahan individu ikan karang; 2). Untuk mengetahui biomasssa ikan target kelompok karnivora dan herbivora.  Pengambilan data dilakukan pada kedalaman 5 meter dengan metode Underwater Visual Census (UVC). Luas areal pengamatan adalah 150 m2.   Ikan koralivora yang ditemukan berjumlah 8 spesies dan dikategorikan sedang.  Ditemukan 28 jenis ikan target dari ikan karnivora (13 spesies), dan ikan herbivora (15 spesies).  Untuk kelimpahan individu total yaitu 81 individu dan densitas 3240 individu/Ha.  Jumlah individu tertinggi ditemukan pada ikan herbivora.  Tingginya nilai indeks ekologi menunjukkan kemantapan komunitas dan kemampuan lingkungan yang memungkinkan jenis-jenis ikan untuk bertahan dan berkembang pada habitatnya.  Ikan target umumnya pada kelas ukuran 16 - 20 cm dan 21 – 25 cm.  Pada umumnya ikan karang dari kelompok herbivora yang paling banyak ditemukan di lokasi ini. Kata Kunci: Ikan Karang, Likupang Kampung Ambong, Biomassa

Abstract

This study aims to determine the distribution and abundance of reef fish families chaetodontidae in coral reef waters of Para Island Sub District Tatoareng. This study was conducted at 4 stations. Data collected was done using visual census on the 50-meter transect line at 5 meters depth. In addition to revealing the number of species and abundance of individuals chaetodontidae, data analysis aimed to determine number of species, individual abundance, and the community index. Based on the identification, obtained 27 species from 3 genera and 217 number of individuals.  The highest number of species found at station Para 1.  7 species are always found in all observation stations, Chaetodon kleinii, C. punctatofasciatus, C. lunulatus, C. trifascialis, C. vagabundus, Heniochus varius, H. chrysostomus. The species with the largest number of individuals that is Chaetodon kleinii (45 individuals). Chaetodontidae fish species diversity index ranged between 2.207-2.866. Dominance Index are categorized low in the range of 0.078-0.122.  Similarity index are categorized high in the range of 0.922-0.971. Keywords : coral fishes, chaetodontidae, coral reef, Para Island

Abstract

This study was aimed at provide information on hard coral distribution in southern Siladen Island. The work was done using SCUBA gear Line Intercept Transect (LIT). Thirty m long-line transects were placed at the reef flat, 5 m depth, 10 m depth, 15 m depth, and 20 m depth. A total of 44 hard coral genera was recorded, and the highest number of genre was found at 5 m depth. Coral species diversity was also high enough at the reef flat (1.032) and 5 m depth (1.28). Coral reef condition at 10 m depth was good enough as well and categorized as productive due to much higher percent of the biotic component than the abiotic component. The dominant life forms consisted of tabulate Acropora and branching corals at the reef flat, encrusting corals, branching corals, and foliose corals at 5 m, encrusting corals at 10 and 20 m depth, and massive corals, encrusting corals, and branching corals at 15 m depth, respectively. Keywords: coral reef, distribution, LIT, vertical zonationl.   Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyediakan informasi tentang distribusi karang batu di sebelah selatan pulau Siladen. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan alat selam SCUBA dan metode transek intersep garis. Tali transek sepanjang 30 m diletakkan di rataan terumbu, kedalaman 5, 10, 15, dan 20 m. Total 44 genera karang batu ditemukan pada penelitian ini, dan jumlah genera terbanyak ditemukan pada kedalaman 5 m. Keanekaragaman spesies karang juga cukup tinggi di daerah rataan terumbu (1,032) and 5m (1,28). Kondisi terumbu karang pada kedalaman 10 m juga cukup baik dan dikategorikan produktif karena tingginya komponen biotik dibandingkan dengan komponen abiotik. Bentuk pertumbuhan yang dominan masing-masing terdiri dari Acropora meja dan karang bercabang di rataan terumbu karang, karang encrusting, karang bercabang, dan foliose pada kedalaman 5 m, karang encrusting pada kedalaman 10 dan 20m, serta karang masif, karang encrusting dan karang bercabang pada kedalaman 15m.   Kata kunci: Terumbu karang, distribusi, Transek Intersep Garis, Zonasi vertikal.

Abstract

An experiment was designed to assess the relative performance of three shelter types on the survival and growth of red-claw crayfish (Cherax quadricarinatus).  A 13 days old juvenile crayfish with an average length of 10 mm were cultured in 400 ml water of glass bowl and were provided with one of 3 types of shelter over 19 days.  The various shelter types assessed were dried coconut leaves, bamboo and Hydrilla.  Juveniles in each bowl were fed with Artemia twice a day morning and in the afternoon. There was no significant effect (P>0.05) of shelter type on the survival rate; however, there was a significant effect (P<0.05) on growth with dried coconut leaves (5.33%) performing significantly better than Hydrilla (2.33%) and bamboo (2.00%).  This experiment showed that the shelter types provided had a significant effect on the growth but not in their survival.Keywords: Survival rate, Growth, juvenile Cherax quadricarinatus, ShelterABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis sintasan hidup dan  pertumbuhan  juvenil lobster air tawar (C. quadricarinatus) dengan shelter yang berbeda. Juvenil lobster yang berumur 13 hari dengan panjang rata rata 10 mm dipelihara dalam wadah toples kaca dengan diberikan ketiga perlakuan selama 19 hari.  Ketiga jenis perlakuan adalah daun kelapa kering, bambu dan Hydrilla.  Juvenil diberi pakan Artemia 2 kali sehari yaitu pada pagi dan sore hari.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ketiga perlakuan tidak berbeda nyata terhadap sintasan hidup (P>0.05), namun berbeda nyata (P< 0.05 ) untuk pertumbuhan dengan daun kelapa kering (5.33%), Hydrilla (2.33%) dan bambu (2%).     Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa jenis shelter memberikan pengaruh nyata  terhadap pertumbuhan namun tidak berbeda nyata untuk sintasan hidup.Kata kunci: Sintasan hidup, Pertumbuhan, Juvenil Cherax quadricarinatus, Shelter

Abstract

Seaweed is a component of coastal ecosystems that makes a major contribution to the Indonesian economy. This marine plant is a potential food source and industrial raw materials that can be used to improve people's welfare as these marine macroalgae are widely distributed in Indonesian waters. This study was carried out because of its important role for the ecosystems and the economy of the country. The purpose of this research is to determine the community structure of this macroalgae in the waters of Tanjung Merah Village of Matuari District of Bitung City. The data were collected from January 2021 to March 2021 using a transect of 1 x 1 m2 which was placed along a 100 m line transect with 5 m intervals. The macroalgae found were 6 species consisting of 2 types of Chlorophyta class and 4 species of Rhodophyta class. The macroalgae diversity index of around is 1.06 categorized as moderate diversity; the index of dominant is 0.44 moderate and the evenness index is 1.79 or low.Keywords: Macroalgae; Community; Diversity.AbstrakRumput laut merupakkan komponen ekosistem wilayah pesisir yang memberikkan kontribusi yang besar bagi ekonomi Indonesia. Potensi sumberdaya hayati laut Sulawesi Utara, khususnya Kota Bitung yang cukup potensial untuk dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber pangan dan bahan baku industri guna peningkatan kesejahteran masyarakatkarena makroalga termasuk salah satu sumberdaya hayati laut yang banyak terdapat di perairan Indonesia. Makroalga memiliki potensi besar untuk dikembangkan, karena memiliki peranan penting baik dari aspek ekologi dan memiliki nilai ekonomi.  Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui struktur komunitas makroalga yang ada di perairan Kelurahan Tanjung Merah Kecamatan Matuari Kota Bitung. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari 2021 sampai Maret 2021. Data dikumpulkan dengan cara di sampling menggunakan kuadrat berukuran 1x 1 m2 yang diletakkan pada garis transek sepanjang 100 m dengan interval 5 m. Makroalga yang ditemukan 6 spesies yang terdiri atas Kelas Chlorophyta berjumlah 2 jenis, dan kelas Rhodophyta 4 jenis. Indeks keanekaragaman makroalga sekitar 1.06 dikategorikan sedang, indeks dominasi 0.44 dikategorikan rendah dan untuk indeks kemerataan 1,79 dikategorikkan rendah.Kata kunci: Makroalga; Komunitas; Keanekaragaman

Abstract

The aim of the research is to know various species of gastropods and gastropod community structure through species density, percent density, dominant species, and association of species of gastropods on seagrass ecosystem. Research with the method of quadrat transect is put perpendicular to the coastline. Gastropod species are found in the seagrass ecosystem on the Makalisung coast consist of 9 species, 7 families, and 4 ordos. Gastropod community structure on seagrass ecosystem is found with species density is highest Cymbiola nivosa as big as 0.64 (ind/m2) with highest percent density 34.04 %. Diversity of species of gastropods on four-station that H’> 1 highest in fouth station as big as H’= 1.72. The dominance of species is highest Cymbiola nivosa as big as C=0.44, where the result of research in generally dominancy C < 0.25 belong to low. Association of species of gastropods on seagrass ecosystem found three characteristics, (1) classifying of positive association is Cypraea tigris and Monetaria annulus, Cypraea tigris and Cymbiola nivosa, Strombus labiatus and Cyclope pellucida, Strombus labiatus and Cymbiola nivosa, Monetaria annulus and Cerithiun nodulosum, Cymbiola nivosa and Cerithiun nodulosum; Cerithiu nodulosum and Angaria dephinus and Faunus ater. (2) Classification of not associated Angaria dephinus and association close to zero (0,04) is Monetaria annulus and Cymbiola nivosa. (3) Classifying of negative association based on the result of the research shows most of the negative pairs of gastropod species on seagrass ecosystem.Keywords: Gastropod; Density; Diversity; Dominance; AssociationAbstrakTujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui jenis-jenis Gastropoda dan struktur komunitas Gastropoda melalui Kepadatan spesies (Ind/m2), Kepadatan relatif (%), Dominansi spesies (C), dan asosiasi antarspesies Gastropoda pada ekosistem lamun. Penelitian dengan metode garis transek kuadrat yang ditempatkan tegaklurus garis pantai. Spesis gastropoda yang ditemukan di ekosism lamun pantai Makalisung, terdiri atas 9 spesies , 7 famili,  dan 4 ordo. Struktur komunitas gastropoda di ekosistem lamun ditemukan dengan kepadatan total spesis tertinggi pada Cymbiola nivosa sebesar 0,64 (ind/m2) dengan kepadatan relatif tertinggi 34,04 %; keanekaragaman spesis gastropoda keempat stasiun H’> 1 di mana tertinggi stasiun 4 sebesar H’= 1,72; dominansi total tertinggi adalah spesis Cymbiola nivosa sebesar C=0,44, di mana hasil penelitian secara umum dominansi C < 0,25 adalah tergolong rendah. Asosiasi spesis gastropoda di ekosistem lamun ditemukan tiga ciri, (1) klasifikasi golongan asosiasi positif adalahCypraea tigris dan Monetaria annulus,Cypraea tigris dan Cymbiola nivosa, Strombus labiatus dan Cyclope pellucida, Strombus labiatus dan Cymbiola nivosa, Monetaria annulus dan Cerithiun nodulosum, Cymbiola nivosa dan Cerithiun nodulosum; Cerithiu nodulosum dan Angaria dephinus dan Faunus ater. Klasifikasi golongan tidak berasosiasi (2) Angaria dephinus dan asosiasi mendekati zero (0,04) yaitu Monetaria annulus dan Cymbiola nivosa. Dan klasifikasi golongan asosiasi negatif, hasil penelitian sebagian besar menunjukkan asosiasi negatif pasangan spesis gastropoda di ekosistem lamun.Kata kunci : Gastropoda, Kepadatan, Diversitas, Dominansi, Asosiasi.

Abstract

The waters of Kalasey I Village have various resources and environmental services that are the potential to be utilized sustainably, such as tourism. The development activities in the tourism sector look so fast in this area with the establishment of several tourism infrastructures, such as diving centers, cottages, resorts,s and restaurants. These activities are thought to be able to affect the coral reef ecosystem. This study aims to determine the coral reef conditions, especially the reef flat, based on the percent cover of the live corals. Data collection was carried out at a depth of 3 meters with 3 replications using an Underwater Photo Transect (UPT) technique. Data obtained were analyzed using Coral Point Count with excel extension (CPCe) software. Based on the percent cover of live corals, the condition of coral reefs in the Kalasey 1 village waters was classified as poor with a coral cover percentage of 2.93%. Kegiatan pembangunan di sektor pariwisata terlihat begitu pesat di wilayah ini dengan berdirinya sejumlah infrastruktur pariwisata seperti diving center, cottage, resort dan rumah makan, dimana aktivitas tersebut diduga dapat mempengaruhi ekosistem terumbu karang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi terumbu karang, khususnya rataan terumbu (reef flat), berdasarkan persentase tutupan karang di perairan Desa Kalasey I Kecamatan Mandolang Kabupaten Minahasa. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada kedalaman 3 meter dengan 3 ulangan, menggunakan teknik Underwater Photo Transect (UPT) dan data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan software Coral Point Count with excel extension (CPCe). Diperoleh hasil kondisi terumbu karang tergolong dalam kategori miskin dengan persentase tutupan karang sebesar 2.93 %. Abstract

Microalgae are a group of phytoplankton that live in waters and in damp places; Microscopic in size and can only be seen with a microscope. The stages of microalgae growth are started with the lag phase, the exponential phase, the growth rate decreasing phase, the stationary phase, and the death phase. Porphyridium cruentum is a single-celled microalgae, belonging to the class Rhodophyceae, free-living or in colonies bound in mucilago. The purpose of this study was to observe the growth of the marine microalgae Porphyridium cruentum in culture media treated with lead acetate at different concentrations, namely 30 ppm, 50 ppm, 80 ppm, and control. Observation of cell growth was carried out by counting the number of cells every day, at the same time until Porphyridum cruentum entered the death phase. The cell density of Porphyridium cruentum marine microalgae showed a good growth pattern where until day 11 the average number of microalgae cells was 9.8 x104. Furthermore, the culture media was treated with lead acetate in different concentrations. Cell density with lead acetate treatment can affect the growth of Porphyridium cruentum. Tahapan pertumbuhan mikroalga adalah dimulai dari fase lag, fase eksponensial, fase penurunan laju pertumbuhan, fase stasioner dan fase kematian. Porphyridium cruentum merupakan mikroalga bersel tunggal, termasuk kelas Rhodophyceae, hidup bebas atau berkoloni yang terikat dalam mucilago. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengamati pertumbuhan dari mikroalga laut Porphyridium cruentum pada media kultur dengan perlakuan timbal asetat pada konsentrasi berbeda yaitu 30 ppm, 50 ppm, 80 ppm dan kontrol. Pengamatan pertumbuhan sel dilakukan dengan menghitung jumlah sel setiap hari, pada waktu yang sama sampai Porphyridum cruentum memasuki fase kematian. Kepadatan sel mikroalga laut Porphyridium cruentum menunjukkan pola pertumbuhan yang baik dimana sampai hari ke 11 jumlah rata-rata sel mikroalga 9,8 x104. Selanjutnya media kultur diberi perlakuan timbal asetat dengan konsentrasi berbeda. Kepadatan sel dengan perlakuan timbal asetat dapat mempengaruhi pertumbuhan Porphyridium cruentum. Abstract

Macroalgae are low-level plants that generally grow attached to certain substrates such as corals, mud, sand, rocks, and other hard objects. Macroalgae are algae that have a macroscopic body shape and size. A community is a group of beings living together in the same place. Thus the macroalgae community is a group of lower plants that have macroscopic body sizes living together. The coastal area of Rap-Rap Beach is located in Tongkaina Village, Manado City, North Sulawesi Province. This location is one of the stable macroalgae habitats, meaning that there is still little habitat damage that occurs, so macroalgae can still be obtained directly from nature. This coast is also known as mangrove ecotourism and the path to Bunaken Island. The purpose of this study is to describe the morphology and anatomy of each macroalgae species. Data collection using the Line Transect method with a squared sampling technique was carried out at the lowest low tide. Temperature measurement using a thermometer and salinity using a refractometer, and for determination of substrate visually see the type of substrate. Abstrak Makroalga merupakan tumbuhan tingkat rendah yang umumnya tumbuh melekat pada substrat tertentu seperti pada karang, lumpur, pasir, batu dan benda keras lainnya. Makroalga yaitu alga yang memiliki bentuk dan ukuran tubuh makroskopik. Komunitas adalah kelompok makhluk yang hidup secara bersama-sama dalam suatu tempat yang bersamaan. Dengan demikian komunitas makroalga adalah kelompok tumbuhan rendah yang memiliki ukuran tubuh makroskopik yang hidup bersamaan. Wilayah pesisir Pantai Rap-Rap terletak di Kelurahan Tongkaina, Kota Manado, Provinsi Sulawesi Utara. Lokasi ini merupakan salah satu habitat makroalga yang stabil artinya masih sedikit kerusakan habitat yang terjadi, sehingga makroalga masih dapat diperoleh secara langsung dari alam. Pesisir ini juga dikenal sebagai ekowisata mangrove dan jalur ke Pulau Bunaken. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan morfologi dan anatomi masing-masing spesies makroalga. Pengambilan data menggunakan metode Line Transect dengan teknik sampling kuadrat yang dilakukan pada saat surut terendah. Pengukuran suhu menggunakan Thermometer dan salinitas menggunakan Refraktometer, dan untuk penentuan substrat dilihat secara visual jenis dari substrat tersebut.
