Abstract

Community development (Comdev) is company’s obligation and responsibility to the community. Advancing the community towards an independent one and preserving the environment through CSR also contribute towards building a corporate’s reputation. Proper is an award granted by the Ministry of Environment, while PROPER Emas (Gold Proper) is the highest-rank award with a significant impact on the company’s reputation. Community development programs are essential in achieving PROPER Emas. This research selects a community development (comdev) program suitable to the criteria in oil distribution company using the AHP Expert Choice method, so that the corporate obtains recommendations and a framework to be used for the comdev program. A superior program is necessity for the PROPER Emas judgement, and this research recommends community development activities to be featured as the superior program. This study concludes that the suggested top program to be carried out by fuel oil distribution companyis the eco-friendly waste bank as a first priority, and the river bank forest program as the second. This research expects to feed into the corporate’s CSR programs towards achieving gold proper.

Abstract

The halal food served in restaurants is important for Muslim consumers and it is one of the most susceptible issues for restaurant business. Therefore, restaurant internal efforts to ensure the halal food by examining critical risks including the way to manage them become important to be execute by restaurant management. This research aims to create a model using Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method to identify and analyze the existing risks. Moreover, it also explains some improvement programs toward the risk management. The results of the risk identification and analysis will be determined by using Risk Priority Number (RPN). It is categorized that 7% risk event is classified as ‘very high risk’, 50% as ‘high risk’, 25% as ‘moderate risk’, and 18% considered as ‘low risk’. Furthermore, the improvement programs explained in this research are about delivery order system, packaging improvement, and also training, reward and punishment system. These programs are mainly purposed to reduce the risk with ‘high risk’ category.

Abstract

In recent years, the halal food issue is an interesting for researchers and practitionaires.  Halal food market was growing significantly and food industries are becoming more aware of halal food improvement and certification.  The food industries need to follow the rules of halal assurance system for the halal institution regulation.  The purpose of this paper is proposesix sigma model for product defect reduction in halal food.  The four steps are used to reduce halal product defect such as (1) Define, (2) Measure, (3) Analyze, and (4) Improve.  Several tools are used in proposed model such as brainstorming, pareto diagram, RCA whys and others.  The proposed six sigma model is applied in chicken slaughtering industry as case study in this research.  There are types of product defect due to non-halal factor, such as (1) chicken do not pass antemortem checks result, (2) chicken die before slaughtering, (3) the slaughter process is not done by cutting off 3 channels at once (blood vessels, trachea, and esophagus), (4) the meat produced is not suitable for consumption (not toyyib).  Based on processing stage, the biggest loss occurs at the meat processing stage, which is due to the quality of chicken meat are not toyyib.  Based on each component of costs, the biggest loss occurs in the component of raw material costs.

Abstract

Nowdays, traceability system for agriculture comodity is mandatory requirements in some countries such as Japan, United States, and all European countries. All export agricultural companies must applied traceability system to fulfill the mandates of goverments market requirements. Traceability system also has beneficials to reduce products return and improve efficiencies and effectiveness their inventory. Electronic traceability system is relatively new and is believed by many experts to have the advantages than paper-based traceability system such as: integration of data to multiple users, the accuracy of data input and control and monitoring easier and faster. Although the recent problems of traceability becomes the important issues in food and agriculture supply chain, but a few researchers to design and implement electronic traceability system especially to integrate multi-user and in supply chain contex. This paper develop the electronic traceability system products including software for electronic traceability system and barcode technology. Unified Modelling Language (UML) is used to design traceabilty system model that was described a usecase, state and sequence diagram. Based on these models, electronic traceability system was developed by adopting XAMPP control panel. Indonesian mangosteen and manggo fruits were chosen as a case study in order to validate electronic traceability system. The results showed that the electronic traceability system product is relatif support to helps members of supply chain to complete their traceability system capabilities for the benefit of mangosteen and mango exports

Abstract

There have been extensive studies on firm’s growth. The determinants of growth are widely discussed among scholars. However, previous studies in context of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) growth are still limited and tend to focus on specific factor that affect firm’s growth. This approach can specifically measure the direct contribution of the factor to the growth, but it has been criticized due to its limited perspective and applicability. In this study, we investigate related studies on firm’s growth, specifically on SMEs growth, and proposing a holistic model to get a thorough understanding about the success or the failure of SMEs to grow. Based on a thorough review of the extant literature, we have identified several main theories/concepts on firm’s growth studies. Finally, we offer a conceptual overview for SMEs growth studies.

Abstract

In the mining industry, analyzing, and controlling the spare parts inventory is important activities and need special attention from the company. The high production cost of the mining industry, including spare parts and shortages costs affects the financial and operational aspects of the company. Spare parts inventory management policy is critical to increase the service level and minimize spare parts cost. In this mining case study, the out of stock incidents in the heavy equipment spare parts were often occurring and significantly affecting the performance of maintenance and operations. The purpose of this study is to determine minimum stock (safety stock) and maximum stock to reduce overstocks and reduce the number of stocks out in spare parts inventory and as well as inventory cost. The method used to solve the problem is economic order quantity (EOQ) and continuous review control (S, s) to determine the minimum and maximum stocks. Determining the combination of S and s has a major impact on the success of inventory control. Substitution parts are subdivided into alphabetical values to determine their significance. As a result of calculating inventory value using EOQ and S, s will get the highest inventory value to reduce inventory costs.

Abstract

Isu resiko pada supply chain merupakan salah satu isu penting di dunia industriperminyakan. Tujuan dari paper ini adalah: (1) mengidentifikasi sumber-sumber resiko supply chain dan (2) menaksir sumber-sumber resiko tersebut berdasarkan tingkat kemungkinannya terjadi dan besar dampaknya yang ditimbulkan. Branstorming dan diskusi oleh beberapa manajer dan karyawan di sebuah perusahaan industri perminyakan di Riau dilakukan untuk pengidentifikasian dan penaksiran sumbersumber resiko supply chain-nya. Pada paper ini, sumber-sumber resiko supply chain pada industri perminyakan dapat dibagi menjadi tiga katagori yaitu (1) external risk (ada 8 sumber-sumber resiko), (2) network risk (8 sumber-sumber resiko) dan internal risk (11 sumber-sumber resiko). Hasil penaksiran menunjukkan bahwa sumber-sumberresiko yang kritis di external risk adalah: perubahan regulasi dan kerusakan infrastruktur merupakan, di network risk adalah: tidak adanya ketersediaan komponen dan kecelakaan transportasi untuk konsumen. Sedangkan internal risk adalah: kerusakan alat pengeboran dan adanya gangguan pada internal transportasi. Kedepannya perlu dilakukan strategi aksi yang dipilih agar sumber-sumber resiko yang kritis dapat diantisipasi, direduksi dan dimitigasi untuk meningkatkan operasi supply chain perusahaan.

Abstract

Determinants of Customer Satisfaction at Pertamina's Lubricants ProductLubricant industry is one of the strategic industries in around the world. The potential of the lubricant industry in Indonesia grows rapidly along with the increasing demand and the number of a vehicle from year to year. This study aims to analyze factors that influencing customer satisfaction Pertamina Lubricants product and measure how far the customer satisfaction level of its product. This study observed eight categories of Pertamina Lubricants product, with quota sampling technique where each category of the product taken 30 samples, so the total number of the sample are 240 respondents. Multiple linear regression and customer satisfaction index were used in this study. The study finds brand popularity has the most significant effect on customer satisfaction, followed by price and durability. Customer satisfaction level stands at 78 percent, which means belongs in the satisfied category. Abstract

Salah satu aspek yang penting dalam perencanaan proyek adalah proses pengadaan barang (procurement) untuk material proyek. Proses pengadaan barang berimplikasi langsung terhadap pengerjaan proyek terutama pada waktu penyelesaian suatu pekerjaan di proyek dikarenakan pekerjaan konstruksi baru akan dimulai jika material sudah tersedia di tempat. Aplikasi dari penggunaan teknologi informasi dalam manajemen proyek khususnya manajemen pengadaan material adalah traceability system yang menjadi alat krusial bagi sejumlah perusahaan dalam melakukan proses pelacakan material. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat sistem traceability yang terintegrasi mulai dari pembuatan material requisition kebutuhan material hingga material tiba di site area. Identifikasi aliran informasi dan proses bisnis kemudian terlebih dahulu dilakukan. Model yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah unified modelling language sebagai model dasar arsitektur sistem traceability material proyek yang terdiri atas use case diagram, class diagram, dan sequence diagram untuk setiap pekerjaan pengadaan dan pengusutan material proyek yang kemudian diimplementaikan ke dalam bahasa pemrograman MySQL. Implementasi sistem traceability material proyek berupa software Material requisition Traceability System kemudian dilakukan proses validasi dan analisis manfaat. Manfaat dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa sistem traceability material proyek yang dirancang dapat diimplementasikan di setiap proyek PT Krakatau Engineering. Hal yang utama adalah sistem traceability material proyek mampu menjadi jembatan informasi antardepartemen yang menaungi pengadaan dan pengusutan material proyek.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa persediaan dengan mempertimbangkan tiga klasifikasi yaitu ABC, FSN dan RCS (Reliability Centered Spares). Kebijakan persediaan apa yang sesuai akan dibandingkan antara (Continuous Review (s,S) dan Continuous Review (s,Q). Karena permintaan spare part bersifat probabilitik, metode simulasi Monte Carlo digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kebijakan persediaan yang dipilih mampu meningkatkan service level-nya hingga 10-15% dan menurunkan biaya persediaanya sekitar 10-12%.
