Abstract

Abstract

The food supply chain has a complex structure because it is a perishable product and involves many stakeholders. Because of this complexity, the food supply chain will confront a few sorts of risks. This study means to create a risk assessment model in the food supply chain. Pareto analysis was used to identify risks based on the responses of 5 experts from companies and academics in the food sector. Then, the Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) method based on grey system theory was utilized to evaluate the causal relationship between identified risks in the food supply chain. Furthermore, the grey-DEMATEL method was developed by combining it with the Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) method which can construct and visualize the relationship between risks into a graphic diagram. By integrating the three methods, three critical risks are found is lack of skilled labor, legal and regulatory, and communication failures. The results of this study can help companies to formulate risk mitigation strategies that have been identified in the food supply chain. This research can be expanded by verifying the data statistically using the system dynamics modeling (SDM) method or other statistical methods. Keywords: Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL), Food Risk, Grey system theory, Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM), Supply Chain Risk

Abstract

Cooking oil is one of nine elements of Indonesian staple cuisine, also known as basic food. In the middle of 2022, the public will experience cooking oil scarcity, with prices that are significantly higher than before. The price increase of CPO (Crude Palm Oil) raw materials, disruption of distribution channels, low supplies of domestic palm oil raw materials, and some domestic cooking oil producers exporting without permission from the government and violating the law are some of the causes of the rise in cooking oil prices. As a result, the supply that should be available to Indonesians has been curtailed, and there is a lack of cooking oil. One of the palm oil generating sectors involves supply chain activities that include palm oil suppliers, producers converting it into crude oil, and then sending the crude oil to domestic customers who utilize the crude oil as raw material to make the products they want, namely oil. fry. Unwanted risk occurrences will occur as a result of the supply chain activities that are formed. The goal of this study is to identify risk events, analyze the linkage between risks in the cooking oil supply chain using the DEMATEL-ISM-MICMAC fuzzy technique, and develop risk reduction strategies. DEMATEL fuzzy integration approach for developing structural models including complicated cause-and-effect interactions. Then, using graphs, ISM maps and visualizes risk correlations. The MICMAC approach is used to categorize existing elements based on their dependence power and driver power. The findings of this study found eleven risk events, with shipping uncertainty (R8) being the most influential risk event. To combat shipping unpredictability, the recommended mitigation action strategy is to supply alternative shipping partners.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is a company operating in the electromedical sector that has supported many domestic medical devices in recent years. The demand for electromedical equipment seen from sales data is very volatile and difficult to predict, apart from that 70% of the requests received come from government institutions. The problem is compounded by the absence of a forecasting policy so that production activity planning is not optimal. Product inventory that is not accompanied by careful calculations will result in overstock and stockout which can increase total costs and reduce service levels. In carrying out its business PT. XYZ implements an existing inventory management policy which is carried out by ordering product components in large quantities but there is no clear reorder point. So this research will observe the product components CMS-600 PLUS, ECG-1200G, TENSIONE, ECG-300G, SON-C, SON-B, SON-PRO, USG PROMAX, PROMIST-3, MED-01, ECG- 100G, and ULTRAMIST then proposed the Croston and Syntetos-Boylan Approximation (SBA) forecasting method to estimate possible demand in the future and then continuous review inventory management policies (s, S) and (s, Q) to determine the maximum reorder point value. stock and order quantity. After that, a Monte Carlo simulation was carried out to see and compare existing policies with improvement policies based on total cost and service level variables. Next, a sensitivity analysis was carried out to determine the robustness of the simulation model to changes in uncertainty. The results obtained are recommendations for a continuous review (s, Q) policy with total cost savings of IDR 22,206,322,981 and an increase in service level of 1.36% to 99.98% compared to the existing policy.

Abstract

Supply chain ambidexterity (SCX) is essential strategy for enhancing the competitiveness and business continuity of third-party logistics (3PL) companies in Indonesia. SCX combines the approaches of Supply Chain (SC) agility and SC integration simultaneously to foster business performance. However, research on the factors influencing SCX remains limited. This study integrated the Fuzzy Delphi Method (FDM) to validate 41 proposed indicators and applied Best-Worst Method (BWM) to assess the relative weight and examine the most and least effective indicators for Indonesia’s 3PL industry. The findings revealed 17 effective indicators, with the top 5 being SC sensing, adaptability, process optimization, regulatory compliance, and employee competency development, which were identified as the most significant indicators. These indicators are critical drivers that ensure the successful implementation of SCX strategy. The results offer valuable insights to professionals and policymakers, helping them formulate strategies to strengthen ambidextrous capabilities in the dynamic environment of the 3PL sector, thereby contributing to a more sustainable and competitive logistics landscape in Indonesia.
