Abstract

The advancement of information and communication technology in the globalization era has significantly transformed higher education, especially in adapting to Generation Z students who are highly familiar with digital technology. These students require interactive, technology-based learning approaches, as conventional methods often fail to sustain their concentration and motivation. This study investigates the impact of two key factors learning motivation and the quality of the learning environment on academic performance. Conducted on 145 Generation Z students from the Management Study Program at STIE YAPAN Surabaya (2nd, 4th, and 6th semester), this research employs a quantitative approach using multiple regression analysis. The sampling technique used is a census, with data collected through primary questionnaires. Findings indicate that both learning motivation and the quality of the learning environment have a positive and significant effect on students' academic achievement. In other words, academic success relies on both internal drive and external support, especially for Generation Z, who are highly responsive to their surroundings. These factors work together to enhance learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of compensation and motivation on the performance of teaching staff at Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi YAPAN Surabaya (STIE) Yapan Surabaya using a quantitative research approach. The performance of teaching staff is a key factor in ensuring academic excellence, and it is significantly affected by internal factors such as the compensation they receive and their level of motivation. Survey questionnaires were given to full-time faculty members at STIE YAPAN Surabaya in order to gather data. An investigation was conducted utilizing multiple linear regression to assess how compensation and motivation impact teaching effectiveness independently and together. The findings indicated that both compensation and motivation play a crucial role in enhancing teaching performance, showing a positive and substantial impact when considered separately as well as together. These findings suggest that improving financial rewards and enhancing motivational support can lead to better performance among academic staff. This research provides valuable input for higher education management in developing effective strategies to improve the quality and productivity of educators.

Abstract

There is a rise in employee turnover at healthcare organizations, particularly at Ikhsan Medika Clinic Klaten where the turnover rate is 15%, higher than the industry average. The main reasons for this turnover seem to be heavy workloads and stress from clinical environments. This research looks into how the workload and stress at work impact employee turnover intentions at the Ikhsan Medika Clinic in Klaten. This particular study falls under the category of quantitative research. A total of 35 participants were selected by probability sampling. To gather data, a questionnaire was utilised. Various analytical techniques were employed including instrument validity tests, classical assumption testing, multiple linear regression analysis, t-tests, F-tests, and coefficient of determination analysis. The data was processed using SPSS version 26. After conducting the t-test, it was found that the workload variable showed a t-value of 3.275 with a significance level (sig) of 2.037 < 0.05. This points to a correlation between workload and turnover intentions among employees at the Ikhsan Medika Clinic in Klaten. The research found nothing significant came from work stress towards turnover intention at Ikhsan Medika Clinic, with a t-value of 0.507 and significance level of 2.037. However, workload and work stress were found to influence turnover intention, confirmed by an F-test with a significant value of 9.873 (p < 0.05). The adjusted R-square of 0.618 shows that 38.2% of turnover intention is explained by these factors, whilst 62.8% was determined by factors outside the scope of this analysis.

Abstract

Generation Z is increasingly dominating the workforce, especially in the Food and Beverage sector such as cafes in Gunung Anyar District, Surabaya, making it important to understand the factors that influence their performance. This study aims to analyze the effect of compensation and work environment on Generation Z employee performance at these cafes. Using quantitative methods with a population of 70 employees, data was collected through questionnaires and observations, then analyzed using multiple linear regression, T-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination with SPSS. The research results show that both compensation and work environment significantly affect Generation Z employee performance at cafes in Gunung Anyar District, Surabaya. The T-test shows significance values below 0.05 for both variables partially, meaning each variable has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Additionally, the F-test results confirm that compensation and work environment together provide a significant effect on performance with a significance value of 0.000, far below the 0.05 threshold. The coefficient of determination (Adjusted R Square) of 0.604 indicates that 60.4% of employee performance variation can be explained by these two variables, while the remaining 39.6% is influenced by other factors outside this research model. Thus, improving compensation and work environment simultaneously can be an effective strategy to enhance Generation Z performance in the cafe sector. These findings imply that improving compensation and work environment can effectively enhance Generation Z employee performance at cafes in Gunung Anyar District, Surabaya.

Rapid digital development brings serious challenges related to personal data protection and social media ethics, especially among students who will enter the technology-based workforce. Responding to this need, the team from the YAPAN College of Economics carried out a community service program entitled "Evaluation of the Effectiveness of the Digital Literacy Program on Data Privacy Awareness and Social Media Ethics" at SMK Perdana 1 Surabaya. The purpose of this activity is to improve the digital literacy of students, teachers and school staff through an understanding of personal data protection regulations and the practice of social media ethics. The implementation methods included coordination and needs assessment, delivery of educational materials based on Law No. 27 of 2022, interactive discussions, workshops on social media privacy settings, as well as pre-test and post-test. The evaluation results showed a 45.8% increase in participants' understanding of the classification of personal data, data subject rights, and the importance of responsible digital behavior. In addition, participants responded positively with an average satisfaction score of 4.2 on a scale of 5, along with an appreciation of the relevance of the material to the needs of vocational students as prospective workers. In conclusion, the program proved to be effective in increasing legal, ethical, and digital security awareness, while making a real contribution in equipping students to face the challenges of the working world in the digital era.
