Abstract

Vegetative growth response of palm oil DxP Dumpy variety using biochar rice husks, oil palm shells, corncobs and coconut shells in the Main Nursery, aims to determine the effect of the administration of several types of biochar on increasing C-organic and N-total in ultisol in the main nursery of oil palm plants. This research has been carried out at the Agricultural Agribusiness College of Agriculture Practices (STIPAP) Medan and soil analysis was carried out at the Asian Agri Laboratory, starting in March-August 2019. The method used was Randomized Group Design (RBD) non factorial with 3 replications, while the treatment factors used were B0 (NPK Compound), B1 Biochar Rice Husk (50 g/polybag), B2 Biochar Palm Oil Shell (50 g/polybag), B3 Biochar Corn Cobs (50 g/polybag), B4 Coconut Shell Biochar (50 g/polybag). The parameters observed were plant height (cm), girth (cm), number of leaves (strands), root wet weight (gr), root dry weight (gr) and pH, C-organik, and N-total soil. The results showed that the biochar treatment of rice husks, palm shells, corncobs and coconut shells had no significant effect on the observed parameters such as plant height, girth, number of leaves (strand, wet weight of roots and root dry weight, pH and N-total soil, but have a very significant effect on the increase in C-organic soil.

Abstract

Hama pada tanaman kelapa sawit harus mendapat perhatian lebih selama perkembangan kelapa sawit, mengingat dapat memberikan ancaman yang besar dalam menimbulkan kerusakan maupun kerugian terhadap tanaman kelapa sawit salah satunya adalah hama Oryctes rhinoceros. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada lahan areal Afdeling I Blok A Kebun Padang Brahrang PT. Langkat Nusantara Kepong (LNK), dimana tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbandingan efektivitas Ferotrap dan Light trap untuk mengendalikan hama Kumbang Tanduk (O. rhinoceros) pada areal tanaman belum menghasilkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Oryctes rhinoceros yang tertangkap pada perlakuan ferotrap berjumlah 38 ekor kumbang tanduk dengan rata-rata 3 ekor/2 hari, pada perangkap light trap berjumlah 20 kumbang tanduk dengan rata-rata 2 ekor/2 hari sedangkan pada perangkap ferolight trap kumbang tanduk yang didapat berjumlah 62 ekor dengan rata-rata 5 ekor/2 hari. Dari hasil tersebut dapat dinyatakan bahwa jumlah kumbang tanduk yang lebih banyak tertangkap yaitu pada perangkap ferolight trap dengan jumlah tangkapan 62 ekor kumbang tanduk.

Abstract

Fertilization is one of the key points in the cultivation of oil palm plantation and became one of the high-cost components. Needs of fertilizer per hectare oil palm plantation in approximately 24% of the total cost of production or approximately 40-60% of total maintenance. This research was carried out in the Afdeling V Batang Serangan Garden Perkebunan Nusantara II Company, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra Province. In March until August 2017. This research uses descriptive analysis method by knowing the total cost of fertilizing in immature plants (TBM) Palm oil. Based on the results of the analysis it can be concluded that the cost of fertilizing TBM palm oil cost amounted to Rp. 795.982.806,78/Ha at a cost of Rp. 6.150.860. The composition of the cost of fertilizing TBM I amounting to Rp. 1.138.726 (18%), TBM II of RP. 2.514.538 (41%), and TBM III Rp. 2.497.595 (41%) of the total overall costs. The composition of the cost of fertilizing TBM oil palm is the cost of purchasing the fertilizer 97%, a 1% transportation and fertilizer sowing of 2%.

Abstract

Palm leaf fronds have the potential to be used as compost material. The utilization of palm oil used as compost stems from the large number of palm oil leaves that are discarded when harvesting is not used. Moreover, in the palm oil company, after harvesting the leaves of the palm oil, it is only thrown away that is increasingly piled up on company land. Based on this, a research on adding Palm Kernel Cake (PKC) solid waste for the composting process can accelerate the decomposition process and as a food enhancer in the composting process. This is also carried out a business feasibility sensitivity analysis to determine whether a business is feasible in composting oil palm fronds with an increase in price of 1-10%. The research was conducted This research was carried out in the greenhouse of the Agricultural Agribusiness College of Agriculture (STIPAP) Medan in April to June 2019. This research used a descriptive design that explains the process flow of the cost component of the feasibility of the business feasibility of making oil palm frond compost using solid waste Palm Kernel Cake. The results showed that the business of making oil palm frond compost using Palm Kernel Cake benefited from a 1-10% price increase of Rp. 613,117-Rp. 489,534 and was still feasible to run with a total production cost of a 1-10% increase in the amount of Rp. 1,386,883- IDR 1,510,466. R / C Ratio 1.44-1.34 from 1-10% increase is feasible to run because R / C Ratio 1 and B / C Ratio value 0.44-0.34 is not feasible to run because B / C Ratio 1.

Abstract

Pengaplikasian tempurung kelapa sawit, sekam padi, tongkol jagung serta batok kelapa memberikan hasil reaksi perkembangan yang nampak pada perkembangan vegetatif tanaman kelapa sawit (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) sesi pembibitan utama. Tujuan riset ini merupakan mengenali pengaruh aplikasi biochar tempurung kelapa sawit, sekam padi, tongkol jagung, serta batok kelapa dan memperoleh dosis biochar yang sesuai pada perkembangan tanaman kelapa sawit (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) di pembibitan utama. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam riset tersebut merupakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) non faktorial dengan 3 pengulangan. Ada pula aspek perlakuan yang digunakan merupakan B0 (pupuk majemuk), B1 Biochar sekam padi (50 gr/polybag), B2 Biochar tempurung kelapa sawit (50 gr/polybag), B3 Biochar tongkol jagung (50 gr/polybag), B4 Biochar batok kelapa (50 gr/polybag). Parameter yang diamati merupakan tinggi tanaman (cm), diameter batang (cm), jumlah daun (helai), berat basah akar (gr), berat kering akar (gr), serta analisis pH, hara P, serta hara K pada tanah. Hasil menampilkan kalau perlakuan biochar cangkang kelapa sawit, sekam padi, tongkol jagung serta batok kelapa tidak mempengaruhi nyata terhadap parameter yang diamati semacam tinggi tanaman (cm), diameter batang (cm), jumlah daun (helai), berat basah pangkal (gr) dan berat kering pangkal (gr). Sebaliknya pada analisis tanah, perlakuam biochar bisa menaikkan pH, hara P, serta hara K tetapi hanya sedikit.

Abstract

Stimulants are a substance used to stimulate the rubber plant to remove more latex than usual. Giving stimulant is usually done on plants aged over 6 years and on slow stater clones such as PB217 stimulant application done in the morning and a sunny day (not rain). Applied to the tapping grooves with lace application technique that is by lubricating the stimulant solution on the tapping groove without pulling scrapnya, in this study water-soluble stimulant or 1 liter of stimulant mixed by 3 liters of water to form a concentration of 2.5% stimulant used Ethrel PA 10. The research was conducted in Afdelling I Kebun Tanah Besih PT. Socfin. The time of this study was conducted in July until August 2017. The results showed that in giving stimulant can increase the production of latex, and lump, it's just DRC decreased dikolakan stimulant solution used has stimulated rubber tree to absorb water more than usual so that greater amount of water than its latex content. Keywords: Lubrication Time, Dose, and Tapping System

Abstract

Compost is very important for the soil and is useful in increasing soil productivity and agricultural production in a sustainable manner where quality and quantity are achieved, as well reducing enviromental pollution and improving the quality of land (soil) in a sustainable manner. This study aims to determine the effect of chemical fertilizers and market waste compost addition on the vegetative growth of oil palm seedlings in the main nursery. The research was carried out for 8 months, from December 2019 - July 2020 in the area of the Practical Farm of the Field Laboratory of Soil Management, STIP-AP Medan. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 2 factors. Factor 1 was organic compost made of market waste with 3 levels (0, 100, and 200 g/bag). Factor 2 was compound fertilizer (NPK 16:16:16) at 3 levels (5, 10, and 15 polybag). All treatment combinations wer performed in 3 replication plots and 2 seedlings were planted per plot, and 54 polybags in total. Data were analyzed using ANOVA at a level a = 5% and 1% and followed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at a level a = 5%. The results prove that market waste compost and compound fertilizers had a significant effect on the observed parameters including plant height, number of leaves, and has a very significant effect on the parameters of fresh shoot weight and root fresh weight as well as shoot dry weight and root dry weight (g), but did not significantly affect the stem circumference. Keywords: compound fertilizer, main nursery, Market waste, oil palm, organic material

Abstract

Limbah dapur menjadi salah satu permasalahan sampah yang saat ini dihadapi oleh masyarakat langsung dari sumbernya yang berdampak pada pencemaran lingkungan dan berpotensi pada timbulnya masalah kesehatan pada masyarakat Desa Sampali Percut Sei Tuan. Masyarakat Desa Sampali Percut Sei Tuan masih mengelola sampah secara konvensional, rumah tangga menunggu petugas sampah untuk datang mengutip sampah mereka. Maka dibutuhkan strategi efektif melalui daur ulang sampah sayur yang sering cepat membusuk dengan menjadikannya sebagai kompos. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan dengan metode 1) penyuluhan dan demo langsung 2) diskusi tanya jawab langsung dengan masyarakat. Masyarakat terlibat langsung dalam pengumpulan bahan kompos hingga proses pembuatan menjadi kompos, sehingga masyarakat langsung menerima edukasi dan praktek pembuatannya. Kegiatan berjalan dengan lancar dan masyarakat Desa Percut Sei Tuan sangat senang. Harapan mereka adalah kegiatan ini akan berlanjut dalam bentuk pendampingan pemberdayaan masyarakat produktif dalam kegiatan daur ulang sampah khususnya untuk membantu pemerintah Desa dalam pengelolaan sampah.

Abstract

Suspension media is made of natural ingredients to multiply microorganisms that can accelerate the destruction of organic matter. Banana hump contains water, iron, phosphorus, calcium, carbohydrates, calories and protein, which are potential as organic fertilizers. Application of banana weevil fertilizer is expected to increase the carrying capacity of the soil for the availability of organic matter and nutrients. The purpose of this study was to determine the best concentration or dose of organic liquid fertilizer for banana weevil on the vegetative growth of oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) seedlings in the Main Nursery. Based on this statement, this research was compiled with the object of oil palm in the Main Nursery. This research was conducted in the Nursery Practice Garden area at STIP-AP Medan. Soil analysis was carried out at the Soil Laboratory of the Agricultural Technology Research Institute (BPTP) of North Sumatra. The time of the study was carried out for 8 months, from January 2021 - August 2021. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 2 factors, namely Factor (1) Liquid Organic Fertilizer Banana Cobs and Factor (2) Compound Fertilizer (NPK) 16:16 :16. The treatment was repeated 3 times, with the number of samples being 2 plants so that the sample population was 54 plants. Parameters observed were seedling height, stem circumference, number of leaves, leaf width, root wet weight, shoot wet weight, shoot dry weight, root dry weight, total nitrogen nutrient content and C-organic nutrient content. The data obtained were analyzed statistically by analysis of variance (ANOVA) with 5% and 1% significant difference tests. The results showed that the treatment of banana weevil liquid organic fertilizer and compound fertilizer had no significant effect on the observed parameters. However, the biomass formed was significantly affected as indicated by the weight parameter. The availability of total nitrogen and C-organic nutrients in Ultisol soil showed a very low classification with total nitrogen values ​​of 0.07 – 0.09% and C-organic values ​​of 0.22 – 0.54%.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pupuk kompos sampah organik dan pupuk majemuk (NPK) terhadap pertumbuhan vegetatif tanaman dan serapan hara N tanaman pada pembibitan utama kelapa sawit. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di areal Pembibitan Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Pertanian Agrobisnis Perkebunan Medan dan Laboratorium Sentral Fakultas Pertanian Univeristas Sumatera Utara pada bulan Desember 2019 sampai Juli 2020. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 2 Faktor yaitu Faktor 1 yaitu  Kompos Organik Sampah Pasar dan Faktor 2 yaitu Pupuk Majemuk (NPK) 16:16:16 dengan ulangan 3x dengan jumlah tanaman per plot 2 tanaman, jumlah polybag keseluruhan adalah 54 polybag. Pengujian parameter disusun daftar Sidik Ragam atau Uji Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) dengan taraf 5% dan 1% dan dialnjutkan dengan Uji Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) pada taraf 5%. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan kompos organik sampah pasar dan pupuk majemuk berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter yang diamati yaitu tinggi bibit (cm), jumlah daun (helai), berat basah akar (gr), berat kering akar (cm), berat basah tajuk (gr), berat kering tajuk (gr). Namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap Lingkar batang (cm) dan serapan hara N (%).
