Abstract

Introduction & Aim: Physical changes in the elderly include the musculoskeletal system, where there is a decrease in the production of synovial fluid as a joint lubricant causing impaired joint movement. Joint disorders are characterized by symptoms of joint stiffness or pain when moving. So far, activities at the elderly integrated service post (posyandu) include promotive and preventive activities. Still, the material presented has not shown any screening or early detection of joint stiffness due to osteoarthritis, even though many elderly people complain of joint stiffness and pain. Therefore, the purpose of this community service activity is to make the elderly remain active independently (LAMAR) to detect early symptoms of osteoarthritis using a goniometer. Method of Activity: This community service activity was carried out in February 2023 in the RW 7 area, Kapasan Village, Simokerto District, Surabaya City. The activity begins with an initial assessment of the elderly who are members of the elderly posyandu in the area. The activities carried out included the initial socialization of the LAMAR program, implementation of counseling, conducting early detection demonstrations, and program evaluation. The results of the screening were then processed using computer software. Results: The knowledge of the elderly after being given counseling on the Independent Active Elderly program through the media of booklets, power points, and goniometer teaching aids has been shown to increase where the statistical test results were p = 0.002 (α≤0.05) from 48% of respondents with sufficient and insufficient knowledge to 100% with a good level of knowledge. Discussion: The LAMAR (Independent Active Elderly) program will make the elderly productive, namely the elderly who are physically, mentally, and socially healthy. This can increase awareness/attention to the elderly in early detection of joint stiffness. The goniometer is used to measure and record the amount of joint movement actively or passively.

Adolescents are the population in the age range of 10-19 years with the number of adolescent groups in the world estimated at 1.2 billion or as much as 18% of the total population in the world. The complexity of health problems in adolescents requires comprehensive and integrated handling that involves all elements from across programs and across related sectors. Therefore, a program that involves adolescents directly is needed to identify the needs and expectations of adolescents towards the implementation of adolescent health programs. The purpose of this activity is to form adolescent cadres and provide training on adolescent posyandu through the Genre-Smart program. The Genre-Smart program is a forum for adolescents to apply the program that has been given to form adolescent health cadres. The program was followed by evaluation for 2 weeks and pre and post tests were conducted. Results: The results obtained data on the characteristics, knowledge, attitudes and skills of Genre-Smart youth cadres. Discussion: The Genre-Smart program using presentation, demonstration and simulation methods is considered effective for changing adolescent behavior, but organizations in the community need to be regulated in policies in the form of decrees so that they have legal force. The number of cancer patients is increasing from year to year, the low cure rate of cancer patients increasingly shows many influencing factors. For patients diagnosed with cancer, initial health conditions will decline. In this situation, it is necessary to fulfill the spiritual health needs of cancer patients to reduce the negative impact on the patient's quality of life. To deal with cancer disease management such as: chemotherapy, surgery, radiotherapy requires a good quality of life so as not to slow down the healing process. The purpose of this study was to explain the relationship between the fulfillment of basic spiritual health needs and the quality of life of cancer patients. This type of research is an observational analytic with a crosssectional design to determine the relationship between fulfilling basic spiritual health needs and the quality of life of cancer patients. The study population was cancer patients at the Indonesian Cancer Foundation, Cancer Patient Shelter and Patients at Dr. Moewardi Surakarta Hospital. The study sample size was 100 respondents who were taken using non-probability sampling technique type purposive sampling. The instrument used was a questionnaire and data analysis using the Pearson Chi Square test. The results showed that the majority of respondents' gender was female (65%), the majority of respondents' last education was elementary school or equivalent (49%), the majority of respondents' spiritual health was in the moderate category (68%) and the majority of respondents' quality of life was in the good category (69%). The results of the Pearson Chi Square test analysis showed that there was a statistically significant relationship between the fulfillment of basic human needs for spiritual health and the quality of life of cancer patients (p=0.018).
