Abstract

The learning model is an important factor influencing student learning outcomes. The low achievement of students in social studies at SMPN 4 Pamekasan is still a problem, mainly due to the use of less innovative models such as the lecture method, which limits active participation. This study aims to examine three key aspects. First, to analyze the effect of the TGT learning model on the learning outcomes of eighth-grade students at SMPN 4 Pamekasan and to what extent the TGT model can improve student performance. Second, to compare the average pretest and posttest scores of students using the TGT model. Third, to compare the same scores for students taught using conventional methods. This research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a Pretest-Posttest Nonequivalent Control Group design. Pretests and posttests were conducted in both groups. The results showed a significance value of 0.014 with a t-count of 6.619, indicating a significant effect of the TGT model. N-Gain analysis showed a 90% increase in the experimental group and 26% in the control group. The experimental class improved from 32.19 to 92.76, while the control class increased from 43.64 to 60.00, proving the greater effectiveness of the TGT model.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of implementing Merdeka Curriculum on students' social sensitivity in social studies (IPS) at SMP Negeri 1 Pamekasan. Merdeka Curriculum aims to enhance students' critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills while fostering social awareness. A quantitative method with an ex-post facto approach was used in this research. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to a representative sample. The data were analyzed using simple linear regression, as the study involved two variables: the implementation of the Independent Curriculum (X) and students' social sensitivity (Y). The study is based on the Independent Curriculum theory from the Ministry of Education and the social sensitivity theory from David and Drost. The results indicate that the implementation of the Independent Curriculum at SMP Negeri 1 Pamekasan scored an average of 92.54, categorized as high. Students' social sensitivity in social studies also scored high, with an average of 92.56. Hypothesis testing confirmed a significant effect of the Independent Curriculum on social sensitivity, with an F-value of 48.012 and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. These findings suggest that the Independent Curriculum effectively improves students' social sensitivity and can guide future curriculum development

Abstract

The challenge in the current curriculum is that teachers are not only required to be able to master learning materials, but also to be able to apply learning models that are appropriate to the needs of students. One of the learning models that is considered fun and able to make students active in the learning process is by using a collaborative game-based outdoor learning model. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of implementing a collaborative game-based outdoor learning model on student learning outcomes in class VIII of SMPN 6 Pamekasan. This study used a quantitative approach with the Quasi-Experimental method and the Pretest Posttest Nonequivalent Control Group Design . The results of the study found that the T-value of 2.216 with a significance level of 0.034 which is below 0.05 indicates that there is a real effect of the collaborative game-based outdoor learning model on student learning outcomes in Social Sciences (IPS) subjects. The significance figure of 0.034 which is smaller than 0.05 statistically proves that the research hypothesis is accepted. In addition, the experimental class with the Outdoor Learning model experienced an increase in learning outcomes of 57%, while the control class with the conventional model only achieved an increase of 26%.

Abstract

The Muhammadiyah Orphanage in Pamekasan faces major challenges in developing life skills and digital education for its children due to limited facilities, teaching staff, and conventional learning methods. To address these issues, an edutainment-based approach and digital pedagogy intervention were implemented to enhance learning quality, motivation, and preparedness for future social and technological challenges. The activities included workshops and training on Digital Pedagogy and Edutainment learning materials, as well as simulations and role-plays using a Game-Based Learning approach, followed by evaluations and participant plan presentations. The program significantly improved the wards’ digital literacy, particularly in personal security (online safety), digital ethics (cyber ethics), gadget usage, and information management, with the average score rising from 2.84 to 4.10 on a 5-point scale, surpassing the target of 75% of participants in the “good” category. Beyond cognitive aspects, the program also boosted motivation, engagement, communication, problem-solving, and independence. Caregiver training was also provided to ensure program sustainability. It is recommended that the orphanage integrate the Game-Based Learning Digital Safety module into its non-formal curriculum, enhance caregiver capacity through advanced training, and improve IT infrastructure.

Abstract

Educational institutions are the second place in socializing as well as shaping the character and behavior of students. Including preventing students from bullying. Educational Institutions have the responsibility to prevent bullying through various efforts that can be made by educational institutions. This article discusses the efforts of the Muhammadiyah Educational Institute in instilling religious values and making other efforts in preventing bullying. The efforts made by the Muhammadiyah Education Institution are through the recitation of books such as the interpretation of the Hadith and the Qur'an, manners and morals through habituation in schools. Habituation in worship, especially dhuha worship and through lectures seven minutes after dhuha. Included in the lesson plan in the subjects of Citizenship Education, Islamic Religious Education, Sociology, Indonesian. Muhammadiyah Educational Institutions also carry out additional activities such as the Youth Information and Counseling Center (PIK-R) which is held every Saturday but this is done by high schools, while for junior high schools there has been no special effort to only socialize about the dangers of bullying. In addition, it was conveyed at every ceremony about the importance of respecting each other and not bullying their friends. However, the efforts made by the Muhammadiyah Educational Institution have not been effective in preventing bullying because there is still verbal bullying as much as 52%, in the form of body shaming, calling with the call of parents, mocking with the call of stupidity of bego, calling by the name of an animal, and calling by the name of a ghost. Physical bullying as much as 34% such as kicking, strangling, and hitting, some initially joking developed into fights. and includes a 14% relational exclusion of spreading rumors so that friends stay away and carry out demolitions. This reality shows that educational institutions, even if they are based on religious values, need to make more intense efforts in overcoming and preventing bullying. This research uses qualitative research with a case study approach and is analyzed from a sociological perspective.
