Abstract

This study explains the shift in consumption patterns among communities from traditional foods to fast food. The purpose of this study is to explain the strategies used by the Nagari Kapau community in preserving the traditional Nasi Kapau dish in an era of globalization and modernization, such as KFC, McDonald's, and others. Bourdieu's Habitus Theory explains the ability of communities to adapt to modernization. The research methodology uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The results show that the community's strategies for preserving Nasi Kapau include (1) maintaining the authenticity of the recipe, (2) innovating and adapting to the modern era, utilizing social media and food service platforms as promotional tools, and (3) holding local cultural events. These efforts are carried out collectively by traders, families, and the local community as a form of social and cultural responsibility. Nasi Kapau has survived globalization thanks to the collective awareness of the community in preserving traditional cuisine through a combination of cultural preservation, innovation, and the use of technology. This strategy not only preserves local culture but also strengthens the social identity of the Minangkabau community in the modern era.

Abstract

Minangkabau local wisdom-based educational tourism is an approach that integrates elements of education, recreation, and sustainable cultural preservation. Kubu Gadang Tourism Village in Padang Panjang City is a concrete example of the application of this concept through various traditional activities, such as making onde-onde, planting rice, playing traditional musical instruments, randai, traditional pacu upiah games, and making pupuik from rice stalks. These activities are not only tourist attractions, but also a means of contextual cultural learning for the younger generation because they can learn directly through real experiences, interactions with local communities, and appreciation of the traditional values that live in the community. This study aims to examine how Minangkabau local wisdom-based educational tourism can foster cultural identity among the younger generation. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that the involvement of young people in various educational tourism activities increases their knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of Minangkabau cultural values. In addition, these activities strengthen their sense of belonging, pride, and responsibility for their cultural identity, while encouraging the active participation of young people in efforts to preserve traditions. These findings indicate that Minangkabau-based educational tourism has great potential as an effective medium for transmitting cultural values to future generations in a sustainable manner amid the rapid pace of globalization. This study recommends strengthening collaboration between the community, government, educational institutions, and the private sector to develop more structured, innovative, and sustainable educational tourism programs so that Minangkabau cultural values can continue to be instilled in the younger generation, thereby strengthening, solidifying, and preserving their cultural identity.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low self-confidence of students and students were not active in participating in learning, students tended not to raise their hands and students tended to be silent, as evidenced by subject grades that were below average. Students are not enthusiastic about learning and are less responsive, resulting in low levels of student confidence. The type of research used is quantitative descriptive research. The influence of the use of rewards on students self- confidence in social studies subjects at SMP Negeri 11 Solok Selatan is based on the results of the research hypothesis with a large significance of 0.05 (a=5%) or (0.000 <0.05), which means that this data has a significant influence. So the reward use variable has a positive and significant effect on students' self-confidence in social studies subjects at SMP Negeri 11 Solok Selatan. The results of this research were dominated by female respondents at 50.7%. The contribution of the use of rewards to students' self-confidence in social studies subjects at SMP Negeri 11 Solok Selatan is 20.3%. Based on the research that has been carried out, this means that the use of rewards has a big role in increasing students' self-confidence, so that the goals of social studies learning at SMP Negeri 11 Solok Selatan can be achieved and get satisfactory resultsSo the reward use variable has a positive and significant effect on students' self-confidence in social studies subjects at SMP Negeri 11 Solok Selatan. Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effect of using interactive learning media based on Wordwall on students' learning motivation in Sociology subject at grade X Phase E of SMA Negeri 16 Padang. The study involved 39 students, consisting of 19 male and 20 female students. The research employed a quantitative method with purposive sampling technique. The results indicated a significant effect of Wordwall media on students' learning motivation, with a significance value of 0.010 (p < 0.05). This suggests that the use of interactive learning media positively influences students' motivation in learning Sociology. The findings are expected to contribute to the development of more innovative and effective teaching methods.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the suboptimal use of learning media by teachers, which results in many students being distracted and not fully engaged in the learning process, leading to low learning outcomes in sociology subjects The theoretical framework of this study is based on cognitive theory, which emphasizes internal mental processes involved in understanding, remembering, and problem-solving. The main focus of this theory is on how individuals acquire, organize, store, and retrieve information.This research uses a quantitative approach with an experimental type. The research design employed is the Posttest-Only Control Design. Data collection techniques include questionnaires and multiple-choice tests. The data were analyzed using the t-test.The results indicate that there is a significant influence of technology-based learning media (X) on learning outcomes (Y). The significance value obtained is 0.038, which is smaller than the threshold of 0.05 (0.038 < 0.05), thus rejecting the null hypothesis (Ho) and accepting the alternative hypothesis (Ha). This implies that technology-based learning media has a significant effect on students' learning outcomes. The regression model shows that for every one-unit increase in variable X, variable Y is predicted to increase by 1.080 units, with a significant intercept value of 53.452. Overall, there is a significant positive linear relationship between technology-based learning media and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini di latarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar berupa nilai ujian akhir semester (UAS) Sosiologi kelas XIF1 dan kelas XIF2 di MAN 6 Pasaman Barat yang berkaitan dengan kompetensi pedagogik guru. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh kompetensi pedagogik guru sosiologi terhadap hasil belajar siswa di MAN 6 Pasaman Barat. Metode penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI yang berjumlah 37, dan sampel pada penelitian ini adalah kelas XIF1 pada mata pelajaran sosiologi di MAN 6 Pasaman Barat yang berjumlah 20 sampel. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik total sampling. Instrument yang digunakan untuk penelitian berupa angket dengan uji hipotesa digunakan uji t.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: Tidak terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara kompetensi pedagogik guru sosiologi terhadap hasil belajar di MAN 6 Pasaman Barat. Hal ini dapat di lihat dari hasil analisis data nilai t hitung variabel kompetensi pedagogik guru sosiologi (X) sebesar -386 dan nilai t tabel 1,72913, sehingga diperoleh hasil bahwa -386< 1,72913. Nilai signifikansi variabel kompetensi pedagogik guru (Y) lebih besar dari 0,05 yaitu sebesar 704. Maka dari itu nilai t dan signifikansi menunjukkan bahwa H0 diterima dan Ha ditolak, karena kompetensi pedagogik guru bukan merupakan faktor penentu utama dalam pencapaian hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

Culture-based classroom management is a strategic approach that emphasizes order, discipline, and character building for students through the internalization of local culture. Culture-based classroom management aligns closely with the principles and direction of the Independent Curriculum, which emphasizes education that shapes students' character according to the local context and strengthens the Pancasila Student Profile. At SMAN 3 Sijunjung, particularly in grade XI F2 Phase F, teachers not only act as educators but also integrate local cultural values into student management efforts.This study aims to analyze and describe how this classroom management is implemented at SMAN 3 Sijunjung, specifically in Sociology lessons in grade XI F2 Phase F. This study used a descriptive qualitative method, relying on in-depth interviews and field observations as data collection techniques. The study subjects included Sociology teachers and grade XI F2 Phase F students at SMAN 3 Sijunjung. The study shows that culture-based classroom management at SMAN 3 Sijunjung is implemented comprehensively through various aspects.Research results indicate that success is evident in various components, including high levels of student discipline, active participation in learning activities, their ability to solve problems independently, and the formation of harmonious and supportive relationships between teachers and students. This approach demonstrates that teachers play a role beyond simply imparting knowledge, but also as role models who instill moral values through daily behavior and as facilitators who mobilize students' potential. Students no longer view school as a rigid, rule-based place, but rather as an environment that supports and appreciates their existence. Abstract

This research was motivated by the lack of concentration in students' learning in grade 10 (phase e) at MA Muhammadiyah Tamiang, Ujung Gading, West Pasaman. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of the application of ice-breaking techniques on student concentration at MA Muhammadiyah Tamiang, Ujung Gading, West Pasaman.This research method was quantitative. The population in the study was all 66 grade 10 students, and the sample was 35 students from class X1, studying sociology at MA Muhammadiyah Tamiang, Ujung Gading, West Pasaman. Sampling was conducted using a total sampling technique. The instrument used for the study was a questionnaire, with a t-test used to test the hypothesis.The results showed that: There was a significant effect of the application of ice-breaking techniques on student concentration at MA Muhammadiyah Tamiang, Ujung Gading, West Pasaman. This can be seen from the results of the data analysis: t-test = 2.848 > t-table = 1.669. Therefore, it can be concluded that H1 is accepted, indicating that there is a significant effect of the application of the ice-breaking technique on the concentration of sociology learning in class X (phase e) of MA Muhammadiyah Tamiang, Ujung Gading, West Pasaman. Abstract

This research was motivated by the low learning motivation of class X Phase E students in Sociology learning at SMAN 1 Gunung Talang. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of implementing the project based learning model on students' learning motivation. In this research, the theory used is constructivism theory according to Jean Piaget. This research method is quantitative research. This research data is in the form of an instrument containing data from respondents from the control class and experimental class. Where the experimental class was given treatment by applying a project based learning model, while the control class was treated with a conventional model. The population in this study were all class X students at SMAN 1 Gunung Talang. The sample for this research was 76 people. The sampling technique is purposive sampling technique. Data analysis techniques use Microsoft Excel software and SPSS version 3.1 software. The research results show that the project based learning model has a significant effect on learning motivation. Which is shown by the hypothesis test value, namely a significant value of 2 tailed 0.01 < 0.05. Based on the results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that the application of the project based learning model in Sociology learning can increase students' learning motivation.

Abstract

This study examines the socioeconomic transformation of the community in Jorong Tanjuang Bungo, Nagari Ganggo Hilia, Bonjol District, Pasaman Regency, which shifted its main livelihood from agriculture to small-scale gold mining. The transition was driven by volatile agricultural incomes and the economic appeal of gold mining, which promised higher and faster returns. The research aims to describe and analyze changes in the community's social and economic conditions before and after the shift to mining. Using a qualitative descriptive approach grounded in Marvin Harris's Cultural Materialism theory, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation with ten purposively selected informants, including local leaders and miners. The findings reveal that, before mining, the community lived modestly, with low incomes, limited education, and strong collective farming practices. After entering the mining sector, household income increased significantly, and families began investing in housing and education. However, social relations weakened, work systems became hierarchical, and lifestyles shifted toward material consumption. The study concludes that the transition to gold mining improved economic welfare but also reshaped social structures and cultural values. Consistent with Harris's framework, the change in economic infrastructure led to transformations in social structure and cultural superstructure, reflecting a shift from agrarian subsistence values to extractive and consumption-oriented ones.
