Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan air rebusan kunyit dalam air minum terhadap bobot relatif saluran pencernaan ayam broiler. Ayam broiler umur satu hari (DOC) 200 ekor dengan bobot badan awal rata-rata 41,48±0,99 gram dialokasikan secara acak ke dalam 5 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan, dimana setiap ulangan terdiri 8 ekor. Lima perlakuan tersebut terdiri dari T0 (100% air minum), T1 (75% air minum : 25% air kunyit), T2 (50% air kunyit : 50% air minum), T3 (75% air kunyit : 25% air minum) dan T4 (100% air kunyit). Pakan komersial untuk broiler dan air minum perlakuan diberikan secara ad libitum. Parameter yang diamati yaitu bobot relatif dan panjang relatif saluran pencernaan ayam broiler umur 35 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan air kunyit dalam air minum tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap bobot hidup ayam broiler, bobot relatif tembolok, proventikulus, usus halus, hati, usus besar, serta panjang relatif jejenum, sekum dan usus besar. Perlakuan tersebut berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap bobot relatif sekum dan pankreas, serta panjang relatif duodenum dan ileum ayam broiler umur 35 hari. Penambahan air rebusan pada taraf 50-100% menurunkan baik bobot relatif sekum dan pankreas dan panjang relatif duodenum, dan pada taraf 25% bobot relatif sekum dan pankres dan panjang relatif duodenum dan ileum sama dengan kontrol tanpa pemberian air rebusan kunyit. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penambahan air rebusan kunyit dalam air minum menurunkan bobot relatif sekum dan pankreas serta panjang relatif duodenum, maka dianjurkan untuk tidak menggunakan air rebusan kunyit dalam air minum.

Abstract

Abstract Lactic acid bacteria is one of natural microbe which is often used as fermentation agent. The Purpose of this researchwas isolated and identified lactic acid bacteria in broiler's caecum. Exploration experimental method by 6 repetition with 2 sub research was used. The ldentification of Lactic acid bacteria was based on morphological, biochemical and physiological of the character. The morphological characteristic were shape cell and gram test. The biochemical characteristic was catalase test. The physiological characteristic was clear zone test. The result obtained l2 isolates of Lactic acid bacteria, rod and coccus , gam positive, catalase negative and showed clear zone colony at lok CaCOt in MRS. That were early characteristic of lactic acid bacteria which were apparenly as genus of Lactobacillus and Leuconostoc. Keywords : caecum, Lactic acid bacteria

Abstract

The aim of this present study was to investigate the effect of dietary supplementation of fungus probiotic Rhizopus oryzae on the serum biochemical and leukocytes profile of 25 days old kampong chicken. A total of 100 day-old chicks weight 39.65 ± 1.46 g were randomly allotted into 20 plots of enclosure. All chickens received feed containing 20.54% crude protein, metabolism energi of 2913 kcal/kg ad libitum. Acompletely randomized experimental design with 4 treatments and five replicates, each replicate of 5 chicken was applied. The treatments were: supplementation of fungus probiotic R. oryzae in the diets (atthe levels of 0% (T0), 0.2% (T1), 0.4% (T2), and 0.6% (T3), respectively. The treatment diets were given at days 1, 7, 14, and 21, respectively. Parameters measured including blood biochemistry (uric acid, total protein, albumin, and globulin) and leukocyte profile (total leukocytes and its differentials). Results showed that dietary supplementation of probiotics R. oryzae had no effect on the parameters observed, except for the percentage of eosinophils. It can be concluded that the administration of R. oryzae in the ration at every seven days intervals failed to improve the physiological condition of the kampong chickens. ABSTRAK Mikrobiota yang sering digunakan sebagai probiotik pada umumnya bakteri. Namun fungi juga berpotensi sebagai probitik. Ayam kampung perlu ditingkatkan kesehatan dan produktivitasnya yang rendah melalui penggunaan probiotik. Sebanyak 100 ekor ayam kampung umur sehari bobot badan rata-rata 39,65±1,46 gram dibagi secara acak ke dalam 20 petak kandang panggung. Ayam diberi pakan berkadar protein kasar 20,54% energi metabolisme 2913 kkal/kg secara ad libitum. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan empat perlakuan lima ulangan, dan setiap ulangan terdiri lima ekor ayam. Perlakuan berupa penambahan probiotik fungi R. oryzae dalam pakan T0, T1, T2, dan T3 masing-masing 0,0%, 0,2%, 0,4%, dan 0,6%. Pakan yang mengandung probiotik diberikan pada hari ke 1, 7, 14, dan 21. Parameter yang diukur meliputi biokimia darah (asam urat, protein plasma total, albumin, globulin) dan leukosit (total dan diferensial). Data dianalaisis keragamannya pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian probiotik R. oryzae dalam pakan hanya berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) pada persentase eosinofil, namun tidak berpengaruh terhadap semua parameter yang diukur. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian R. oryzae dalam pakan setiap tujuh hari tidak menyebabkan ayam kampung meningkatkan respon imunnya.

Abstract

Fungi is a microorganism that can live in gastrointestinal tract of chicken. One type of fungi is multicellular or filamentous fungi. C.crassa is a species of filamentous fungi that has been isolated in the earlier study and it showed the best probiotic potency in vitro. The obyective of this research was to study the effect of addition of dried culture of  C.crassa in feed on intestinal & caecal morphology, bacterial & fungal number, and  productivity of indigenous chicken (ayam kampung). Research used completely randomized design with four treatments. The treatments were the level of  dried culture in basal diet (0%, 0.25 %,  0.50 % and 0.75 %). Each treatment was replicated 5 times and each replicate consists of 10 chickens. The parameters observed were : villi morphology, number of bacteria and fungi in the duodenum and cecum of chickens aged 1, 21 and 35 days and productivity i.e. feed intake, final body weight and feed conversion. The results showed that 0.50% dried culture of C.crassa could increase the duodenal villi width, decreased the number of bacterial and fungal colonies in duodenum and caecum, but it did not increase productivity. The conclusion : C.crassa could stimulate the duodenal villi development and decreased the number of the bacteria and fungi in the gastrointestinal tract, yet it has no positive impact on the chicken productivity.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh penggunaan aditif kunyit terhadap bobot relatif organ pencernaan ayam kampung super.Penelitian dilaksanakan pada tanggal 10 September 2017 sampai 10 November 2017 di Fakultas Peternakan dan Pertanian Universitas Diponegoro. Ayam kampung super yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu Day Old Chick (DOC) yang diproduksi oleh PT. Tirto Hartono, Sleman, Yogyakarta sebanyak 200 ekor. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah rancangan acak lengkap, dengan 5 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan, sehingga ada 25 unit percobaan, setiap 1 pen diisi 8 ekor ayam kampung super. Perlakuan yang digunakan adalah : T0 = Ayam kampung super tanpa diberi aditif kunyit, T1 = Ayam kampung super diberi aditif perasan air kunyit dalam air minum  1:3, T2 = Ayam kampung super diberi aditif tepung kunyit dalam ransum 0,5%, T3 = Ayam kampung super diberi aditif fermentasi ampas kunyit dalam ransum 0,5%, T4 = ayam kampung super diberi aditif ampas kunyit dalam ransum 0,5%. Parameter yang diamati adalah bobot relatif organ pencernaan. Apabila uji keragaman berbeda nyata, maka dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian aditif kunyit terhadap bobot relatif organ pencernaan pada ransum ayam kampung super berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) pada rataan bobot relatif proventrikulus tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata pada rataan bobot relatif organ pencernaan gizzard, hati, duodenum, jejunum, ileum dan sekum. Kesimpulan hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa pemberian aditif kunyit baik dicampur pakan maupun air minum dapat meningkatkan rataan bobot relatif proventrikulus tetapi tidak meningkatkan rataan bobot relatif gizzard, hati, duodenum, jejunum, ileum dan sekum.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mengevaluasi pengaruh dari pemberian ekstrak daun kersen pada ampas kelapa terhadap total bakteri, total fungi serta kandungan nutrisi pada lama penyimpanan yang berbeda. Ekstrak daun kersen diekstraksi menggunakan metode sokletasi. Konsentrasi ekstrak daun kersen yang digunakan adalah 50%. Ampas kelapadiberi 2 perlakuan yaitu T0 tidak ditambah ekstrak daun kersen dan T1ditambah ekstrak daun kersen dengan perbandingan 1 : 10 (v/w) serta diberi perlakuan lama penyimpanan masing-masing M0 (lama penyimpanan minggu ke -0), M2 (lama penyimpanan minggu ke-2) dan M4 (lama penyimpanan minggu ke – 4). Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) pola faktorial dengan 2 faktor perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Parameter yang diamati adalah total bakteri, total fungi dan kandungan  nutrisi.  Perlakuan pemberian ekstrak daun kersen berbeda nyata (P < 0,05) terhadap total fungi, total bakteri, kadar lemak kasar, dan kadar protein kasar. Sedangkan lama penyimpanan berbeda nyata (P<0,05) terhadap  kadar air,  kadar abu dan serat kasar ampas kelapa. Ekstrak daun kersen yang ditambahkan pada ampas kelapa mampu mengurangi pertumbuhan fungi, namun tidak dapat mengurangi pertumbuhan bakteri serta tidak dapat mempertahankan kandungan nutrisi ampas kelapa selama penyimpanan.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the amount of lactic acid bacteria and coliform inside the caecum and ileum of broilers. 240 days old chicks broiler (DOC) with 42.015 ± 0.219 g average body weight were used in this research as an experimental objects. The chicks broiler were treated with 0.04% antibiotics and 1% Spirulina plantensis as a prebiotic under different interval ingestion. This experiment was constructed under completely random design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 repetition. The treatment that was applied were T0 (Poultry feed + 0.04% Zinc bacitracin), T1 (Poultry feed + 1% throughout 7 days), T2 (Poultry feed + 1% throughout 21 days), and T4 (Poultry feed + 1% throughout 35 days). The parameter measurements conducted in the 32nd day with random sampling from each experiments. Total amount of lactic acid and coliform from each samples were observed and the variance was with 5% accuration. The result showed the total amout of Coliform in ileum was significantly different (P<0.05) in the other hand the total amount of Coliform and acid bacteria in caecum were not influenced (P<0.05). It can be inferred that the Spirulina platensis treatment for 3 weeks reduced the total amount of bacteria inside caecum and ileum.

Abstract

The aim of the research was to improve the relative weight, relative length and dietary of the broilers’ small intestine (duodenum, jejunum, ileum) with the slight squeeze of the lime as acidifier. The research was conducted according to completely randomized design with 3 treatments and 6 replications (each experimental unit consisted of 5-6 broilers). Treatments were T0 (normal), T1 (5mL lime + 1000mL water), and T2 (10mL + 1000 mL water). Relative weight and relative length of the small intestine were not affected by the addiction of the lime, either dietary was not significantly affected by the addiction of the lime on the water as acidifier. Abstract

This study evaluated the impact of fermentation with Chrysonilia crassa on nutritional composition and antioxidative activity of the mixture of cassava pulp and selected leaves meal. Cassava pulp (60 g) was mixed thoroughly with 35 g leaves meal of either cassava, M. Oleifera, or L. leucocephala, and inoculated with Chrysonilia crassa starter (5 g). The mixture was aerobically incubated for 3 days at room temperature and analyzed for the proximate composition, gross energy, true protein, antioxidant activity, and amino acid content. The fermented products showed higher crude protein, ether extract, ash, and gross energy but lower fibre content than unfermented cassava pulp. Both leaves meal supplementation and fermentation increased the true protein content of cassava pulp. Superior antioxidant activities and higher amino acids were observed in the fermented products than raw cassava pulp. In conclusion, supplementation of leaves meal in conjunction with Chrysonilia crassa-fermentation improved the nutritional values and antioxidant potential of cassava pulp.

Abstract

The community's growing demand for chicken meat as an animal protein source has presented farmers with the challenge to alter the care of broiler chickens by using high cage density. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of diet supplementation with encapsulated extract of kenikir (Cosmos caudatus) and bitter (Andrographis paniculata) extracts on broiler diet to growth perfor-mance, immunity status, and carcass proportion. A total of 370 day-old Cobb broiler chicks, weighing 45.25 ± 0.89 g, were divided into five groups: T0: control, basal diet + density 10 chicks/m2, T1: basal diet + density 16 chicks/m2, T2: basal diet + density 16 chicks/m2 + Cosmos caudatus 1 g/kg feed, T3: basal feed + density 16 chicks/m2 + Andrographis paniculata 1 g/kg feed, T4: basal feed + density 16 chicks/m2 + Cosmos caudatus 0.5 g/kg feed + Andrographis paniculata 0.5 g/kg feed). At the end of the study, the blood sample and internal organ were collected to further analysis. The final weights of groups T2, T3, and T4 were better than T0 and T1, while T1 has the lowest weight among the other groups. Chicks in T0, T2, T3 and T4 had lower PDW levels compared to T1. Chicks in T4 have a high-er jejunum villi height compared to T0, T1, T2 and T3 groups. The treatments did not affect the small intestine and giblets relative organ wights (P>0.05). The group of T0, T2, T3, and T4 have a fewer duo-denum lesion compared to T1. The group of T2, T3, and T4 have a better structure in jejunum cells compared to T0 and T1. Lesion score of Bursa Fabricius and spleen were greater in T3 and T4 com-pared to T0, T1 and T2 groups. And T1 have the lowest ND antibody compared to other groups. In con-clusion, giving encapsulation of kenikir (Cosmos caudatus) and bitter (Andrographis paniculata) ex-tracts on broiler diet can improve production performance and immune status of broiler chickens.
