Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh pemberian additive herbal yang terdiri dari rumput laut (Ascophyllum nodosum), adas (Foeniculum vulgare mili), dan beri lima rasa (Schisandra chinensis) terhadap indeks performa dan nilai ekonomis pakan broiler. Penelitian dilakukan selama 40 hari pada 6.600 ekor broiler strain Cobb di PT Dinamika Megatama Citra, Malang, dengan dua perlakuan: kontrol tanpa aditif dan perlakuan dengan aditif herbal (1 ml/L air minum). Parameter yang diamati meliputi konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan, konversi pakan, indeks performa, income over feed cost (IOFC), dan nilai ekonomis pakan. Hasil menunjukkan pemberian aditif herbal memberikan perbedaan kecil secara rataan pada semua parameter, dengan konsumsi pakan rata-rata P0=85,73 g/hari/ekor dan P1=77,05 g/hari/ekor; pertambahan bobot badan P0=68,17 g/hari/ekor dan P1=74,83 g/hari/ekor; konversi pakan P0=1,14 dan P1=1,19; indeks performa P0=368,88 dan P1=359,47; nilai ekonomis pakan P0=9.773,11 dan P1=10.767,17; serta IOFC P0=12.304,14 dan P1=11.737,28. Disimpulkan bahwa pemberian aditif herbal pada air minum broiler tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan terhadap indeks performa dan nilai ekonomis pakan dibanding tanpa herbal aditif. Kata Kunci : herbal aditif, broiler, indeks performa, nilai ekonomis pakan, IOFC.

Abstract

AbstrakAditif herbal yang digunakan merupakan produk komersial berbasis nano herbal dengan komposisi rumput laut (Ascophyllum nodosum), adas (Foeniculum vulgare mili), dan beri lima rasa (Schisandra chinensis). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pemberian aditif herbal terhadap kualitas karkas broiler, meliputi persentase karkas, proporsi bagian karkas, dan kadar lemak abdominal. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Desember 2024 Januari 2025 di PT Dinamika Megatama Citra, Malang, menggunakan 6.600 ekor broiler strain Cobb yang dibagi ke dalam dua perlakuan, yaitu tanpa aditif herbal (kontrol) dan dengan aditif herbal (10 ml/1000 L air minum). Penelitian berlangsung selama 42 hari, dengan parameter pengamatan bobot akhir, persentase karkas, persentase bagian karkas (dada, paha atas, paha bawah, sayap, dan punggung), serta persentase lemak abdominal, yang dianalisis menggunakan uji t tidak berpasangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian aditif herbal tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap persentase karkas maupun distribusi bagian karkas (P > 0,05), namun pada lemak abdominal diperoleh penurunan signifikan (P < 0,05) dari 4,67% ± 0,45% pada kontrol menjadi 2,41% ± 0,08% pada perlakuan aditif herbal. Disimpulkan bahwa aditif herbal berpotensi meningkatkan kualitas karkas melalui penekanan akumulasi lemak abdominal dan mendukung efisiensi metabolisme energi. Kata Kunci : Aditif herbal, broiler, kualitas karkas, lemak abdominal, bagian karkas.

Abstract

Kedung Kandang sub-district, Malang city, is one of the centers for small household businesses in the form of frozen jemblem, where this product is a traditional food made from cassava. However, these businesses still use traditional methods when processing it. This community service activity aims to help the partner businesses thereby assisting in the form of jemblem processing machines and faster and more hygienic methods for making frozen jemblem. The method of this community service activity is coordinating with partners to make cassava grinding machines and provide technical guidance regarding the use of cassava grinding machines. This activity resulted in the partners receiving assistance in the form of a cassava grinding machine which the partners could experience directly. Mitra feels that having this cassava grinding machine can speed up the production process and increase the sales turnover of frozen jemblem. Apart from that, with the cassava grinding machine, the frozen jemblem production process becomes more hygienic.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh letak cage dalam kandang tertutup terhadap kualitas telur ayam petelur Hy-Line Brown. Materi yang digunakan adalah 96 ekor ayam petelur Hy-Line Brown umur 57 minggu. Pakan yang digunakan adalah pakan lengkap untuk ayam petelur fase layer produksi PT. Charoen Pokphand Indonesia dengan kode 324 KJ. Metode penelitian adalah percobaan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap. Perlakuan penelitian adalah tiga letak cage yang berbeda, yaitu dekat inlet (P1), tengah (P2), dan dekat outlet (P3).  Variabel penelitian meliputi luas permukaan area telur, kedalaman kantong udara, dan berat jenis. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis sidik ragam dan jika terdapat perbedaan antar perlakuan dilakukan uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan yang nyata (P>0,05) pada luas permukaan area telur, kedalaman kantong udara, dan berat jenis telur pada letak cage yang berbeda dalam kandang tertutup. Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini adalah bahwa letak cage dalam kandang tertutup tidak memberikan pengaruh negatif terhadap kualitas telur ayam Hy-Line Brown. Disarankan dilakukan penelitian uji pH darah untuk mengukur tingkat cekaman ayam petelur pada letak cage yang berbeda.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan penggunaan zeolit yang ditambahan pada litter terhadap konsentrasi amonia, suhu litter, bobot panen, bobot karkas dan skor footpad dermatitis. Materi penelitian ini adalah 272 broiler dipelihara dengan 4 perlakuan, P0 diberikan 0 gram zeolit / m2 litter, (P1) diberikan 500 gram zeolit / m2 litter, (P2) diberikan 1.000 gram zeolit / m2 litter dan (P3) diberikan 1.500 gram zeolit / m2 litter. Metode yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan analisis data menggunakan Analisis Varian (Anova). Jika terdapat perbedaan secara nyata dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Hasil dari penelitian ini, konsentrasi amonia dan suhu litter lebih rendah di (P2) 1.000 gram zeolit / m2 litter dan P3 1.500 gram zeolit / m2 litter dibanding dengan (P0). Bobot panen dan bobot karkas lebih tinggi pada P2 1.000 gram zeolit / m2 litter, sedangkan foot pad dermatitis lebih rendah ditunjukkan pada P3 1.400 gram zeolit / m2 litter. Kesimpulannya adalah penambahan zeolit pada litter memberikan efek yang positif terhadap litter dan performa pertumbuhan, terutama pada P2 1.000 gram zeolit / m2 litter.

Abstract

This study evaluated the effect of hatching egg storage at room temperature on hatching performance and day old chick quality of Arab chickens. Two hundreds hatching eggs were obtained at the same day from 55-weeks-old Arab chicken flocks. Hatching eggs were then randomly distributed into four treatments, including 1 day storage (1DS), 4 days storage (4DS), 7 days storage (7DS), and 10 days storage (10DS). Each of those treatment using five replicates and each of replicate consisted of 10 hatching eggs. Temperature and relative humidity in the storage room were 27.9 ± 0.55 °C and 55.4 ± 4.84%, respectively. At the end of each storage duration, hatching eggs were incubated at temperature and relative humidity of 37.8 ± 0.08 °C and 58.94 ± 5.66%, respectively, for 516 hours. Result showed that egg storage duration for up to 10 days did not affect (P > 0.05) fertility. However, 4DS treatment had a higher (P < 0.05) hatchability of set eggs and hatchability of fertile eggs. Embryonic mortality was also lower (P < 0.05) in 4DS than the other treatments. Egg storage duration had no effect (P > 0.05) on chick length, hatch yield, and Pasgar score. Whereas, chick weight in 1DS and D4S was higher (P < 0.05) than 7DS and 10DS. Furthermore, saleable chicks in 4DS also higher (P < 0.05) than the other treatments. It could be concluded that hatching egg storage at room temperature for 4 days provides optimum hatching performance and day old chick quality of Arab chickens.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the comparison of types of battery materials for laying hens, specifically bamboo and wire, on the welfare and production performance of laying hens. The material for this research consisted of 100 laying hens of the ISA Brown strain aged 54 weeks. The variables observed included livestock welfare, which was assessed through behavioral aspects (eating, drinking, and resting), while the production performance variables observed included HDP (Hen Day Production), egg weight, egg mass, and FCR (Feed Conversion Ratio). The research method employed an experimental approach using the T-test (independent sample). Two treatments were used, each with 50 replications. The results of the research indicated that the difference in treatment using T1 (bamboo battery materials) and T2 (wire battery materials) affected livestock welfare and production performance. The research results demonstrated that the behavior of bamboo batteries was considered better in terms of livestock welfare because they were able to better prevent heat stress. In terms of production performance, wire batteries exhibited higher Hen Day Production (HDP) and were better at preventing disease than bamboo batteries. However, bamboo batteries had a higher egg weight due to the frequency of feeding chickens being higher than wire batteries. Improved sanitation management is necessary for batteries made from bamboo because they tend to more easily become a medium for the growth of germs, lice, and fungi, which can cause disease and result in decreased production performance.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh dari penambahan dedak rumput laut organik pada beberapa level dalam ransum yaitu konsumsi pakan, produksi telur serta nilai dari konversi pakan (Feed Conversion Ratio) ayam petelur. Bahan uji berupa dedak rumput laut organik berasal dari limbah industri pengolahan agar-agar. Percobaan dilaksanakan di Desa Pegelaran, Kabupaten Malang, pada 29 September–4 November 2025. Sebanyak 160 ekor ayam petelur strain Lohmann Brown, umur 9 bulan digunakan sebagai hewan percobaan. Penelitian ini menerapkan rancangan acak lengkap menggunakan empat perlakuan serta empat ulangan. P0  (0%), P1 (5%), P2 (10%), dan P3 (15%), dedak rumput laut dalam ransum pakan. Hasil analisis ragam dapat diketahui bahwa penambahan dedak rumput laut organik sampai taraf 15%, tidak memberikan pengaruh terhadap konsumsi pakan, produksi telur, maupun konversi pakan.Kata kunci : dedak rumput laut organik, ayam petelur, konsumsi pakan, produksi telur, serta konversi pakan THE INFLUENCE OF ORGANIC SEAWEED BRAN SUPPLEMENTATION ON FEED INTAKE, EGG PRODUCTION, AND FEED CONVERSION IN LAYING HENS AbstractThe purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of adding organic seaweed bran at several levels in the ration, namely feed consumption, egg production, and the value of the feed conversion ratio (FCR) of laying hens. The test material was organic seaweed bran derived from waste from the agar-agar processing industry. The experiment was conducted in Pegelaran Village, Malang Regency, on September 29–November 4, 2025. A total of 160 Lohmann Brown strain laying hens, aged 9 months, were used as experimental animals. This study implemented a completely randomized design with four treatments and four replications. P0 (0%), P1 (5%), P2 (10%), and P3 (15%), seaweed bran in the feed ration. The results of the analysis of variance showed that the addition of organic seaweed bran up to 15% did not affect feed consumption, egg production, or feed conversion. Keywords : seaweed bran, egg-laying hens, feed intake, egg production, feed conversion
