THE EFFECT OF HERBAL ADDITIVE ADMINISTRATION ON THE PERFORMANCE INDEX AND ECONOMIC VALUE OF BROILER FEED AbstractThis study aims to analyze the effect of herbal additives consisting of seaweed (Ascophyllum nodosum), fennel (Foeniculum vulgare mili), and five-flavored berries (Schisandra chinensis) on the performance index and economic value of broiler feed. The study was conducted for 40 days on 6,600 Cobb strain broilers at PT Dinamika Megatama Citra, Malang, with two treatments: control without additives and treatment with herbal additives (1 ml/L drinking water). The parameters observed included feed consumption, body weight gain, feed conversion, performance index, income over feed cost (IOFC), and economic value of feed. The results showed that the administration of herbal additives gave a small difference on average in all parameters, with an average feed consumption of P0 = 85.73 g/day/head and P1 = 77.05 g/day/head; body weight gain of P0 = 68.17 g/day/head and P1 = 74.83 g/day/head; Feed conversion P0=1.14 and P1=1.19; performance index P0=368.88 and P1=359.47; economic value of feed P0=9,773.11 and P1=10,767.17; and IOFC P0=12,304.14 and P1=11,737.28. It was concluded that the provision of herbal additives in broiler drinking water did not show significant differences in performance index and economic value of feed compared to without herbal additives.
