Abstract

The research in general aimed on analyzing English language errors made by local tourism workers of Jatiluwih tourism destination in Tabanan, Bali, and specifically it aimed in revealing and analyzing types of errors made by the local tourism workers of Jatiluwih Tourism Destination in using English with foreign tourists. The primary research data are directly collected from the English language expressions used by the local tourism workers as informan of Jatiluwih Tourism Destination during their communication activities with the foreign tourists. The data informan are selected using purposive, snowball and abundant sampling techniques with the total number of 30 samples of the local tourism workers of Jatiluwih Tourism Destination in Tabanan, Bali. The collected data are analyzed using Error Analysis Theory proposed by Tarigan (1985) and Ellis (1986) (cited in Tarigan and Tarigan, 2011:63-64). The research reveal that the English language errors committed by local tourism workers of Jatiluwih Tourism Destination i Tabanan, Bali can be categorized into two major errors, which are: (1) errors of linguistic taxonomy category, which consists of two errors types, such as : (a) morphology errors and, (b) syntactic errors; (2) Errors of surface strategy taxonomy.

Abstract

The purpose of the present research was to analyze the use of English speech acts functions by the staff of home stay at Belumbang Tourism Village in Tabanan Bali. The research method applied was descriptive qualitative approach which was largely relied on the philosophy of phenomenology approach. The types of data were the qualitative ones which were in the forms of words, phrases, expressions, and sentences on the use of English speech functions. The sources of data were primary data which were directly collected from the respondents and the key informant, and the secondary data which were collected from the existing data provided by the second party. The methods used for data collection were observation, questionnaires, and interview methods. The methods for data analysis were descriptive and qualitative by using the theory of speech acts functions proposed by Searle (1983). The population of the research was 30 people. The sampling technique applied was non-probability sampling.  The findings of the research were the result and the discussion showed that those 5 speech act functions, such as: assertive, directives, expressive, commissive, and declarative were used.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyze the impact of Bali's cultural tourism on the local Balinese community. This research employs a qualitative approach through a literature study, where the data sources used are secondary data. The main data sources are various types of literature such as books, scientific journals, articles, and reports. Data collection is carried out by reading, taking notes, quoting, and analyzing the content of these sources. Data analysis is performed through content analysis and synthesis or consolidation of findings from various sources. The results of the discussion in the article indicate that there are two major impacts of the existence of Bali's cultural tourism on the local Balinese community. These impacts are positive and negative impacts.

Abstract

In annual activities, community service must be carried out by the campus in fulfillment of its obligation to transfer academic knowledge to the community. Problems in the field are usually not in accordance with the theory that has been studied, so it is necessary to have real learning for students. This real work lecture activity helps lecturers and students collaborate together in solving problems in the village. The location chosen was Belumbang Tourism Village, Tabanan Bali. There are several obstacles that occur, especially the new operation of the village as a tourist village. This makes the village head need to prepare the community in tourism activities in the area. One of them is from awareness about tourist attractions in the area. In addition, homestay accommodation is very potential considering that there is only one villa owned by the local community in this area. Therefore, it is important for local communities to be involved in tourism activities in tourist villages. This service activity includes an introduction, main activities and activity outputs. The results of this service include socialization about tourism potential, waste management and homestay accommodation. Then other services in the form of teaching to elementary school students. It is hoped that this activity can continue, to assist the village to be ready to become a tourist village that can compete with other villages.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul Strategi Pemasaran Coffee and Eatery Coffee Shop Denpasar Pada Masa Pandemi COVID-19. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dan analisis SWOT. Pengumpulan data dengan teknik observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) strategi pemasaran yang diterapkan menggunakan strategi segmentasi, penargetan, positioning dan bauran pemasaran, dimana segmen pasar sasarannya adalah wisatawan nusantara dan wisatawan mancanegara, dengan sasaran lebih terfokus pada masyarakat lokal Bali. wisatawan di wilayah tersebut. (2) Faktor internal dan faktor eksternal pada Coffee and Eatery Coffee Shop Denpasar pada masa pandemi COVID-19 berupa kekuatan seperti harga, menu bervariasi, tempat nyaman dan luas, sistem pembayaran, dan kualitas pelayanan. Kelemahannya berupa media promosi, dekorasi eksterior, fasilitas pegawai, tempat parkir dan area outdoor. Peluang berupa pariwisata, vaksinasi, protokol kesehatan, kemajuan teknologi dan informasi, serta gaya hidup masyarakat dan ancaman berupa perekonomian, pesaing sejenis, selera konsumen, kebijakan pemerintah, harga bahan baku. (3) Kendala yang dihadapi Coffee and Eatery Coffee Shop Denpasar adalah pada kegiatan promosi dan harga bahan baku yang fluktuatif. (4) solusi yang dilakukan oleh Coffee and Eatery Coffee Shop Denpasar dengan melakukan kerjasama dengan food vlogger dan mencari supplier dengan harga murah namun kualitas tetap terjaga.

Abstract

This training activity is a service program from the Faculty of Business and Tourism, Triatma Mulya University. In this activity, students are given the opportunity to enter the community and apply the knowledge they learn during lectures. Students will learn to overcome problems that occur in Taro Village and find solutions related to this. In addition, for lecturers, this activity is one form of implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education carried out by community service. The purpose of dedication is to improve the competence of homestay owners regarding room division, and improve the knowledge and skills of tour guides in Taro Village. Service activities are carried out using the method of introduction, main activities and output activities. The findings in this service program are that Taro Village has human resources that are ready to serve tourists. Local community training activities are useful to increase knowledge and skills related to room division and tour guidance. In addition, the standard operating procedures prepared can guide the community in carrying out these competencies. Training the community in carrying out service activities to tourists is expected to be able to provide more experience so that it is better prepared to welcome the arrival of tourists who travel.

Abstract

The purposes of the research were to study and to analyze English Language Politeness used by the local tour guides of Belumbang Tourism Village in Tabanan, Bali. The approach used is a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach, which allows an in-depth understanding of the behaviour of tour guides in communicating with tourists. The research data was collected through questionnaires completed by respondents as well as structured interviews with key informants, who provided first-hand views of communication practices in the tourism context. The collected data were analysed using a qualitative descriptive method, with reference to the theory of language politeness developed by Leech (1983), which includes six language politeness maxims: (1) Tact Maxim, (2) Generosity Maxim, (3) Approbation Maxim, (4) Modesty Maxim, and (6) Sympathy Maxim. The research shows that local tour guides in Belumbang Tourism Village consistently apply the six maxims in daily interactions, both in providing information and services to tourists. This reflects a high level of language politeness, which is crucial in creating a positive tourism experience, strengthening interpersonal relationships, and maintaining local cultural values.

Abstract

Tulisan artikel pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang berjudul “Pelatihan Penanganan Tamu Walk-In Guests Bagi Mahasiswa China Pada Program Summer Course 2024 di Universitas Triatma Mulya” bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman, menambah wawasan serta pengetahuan tentang penanganan tamu yang datang ke hotel tanpa melakukan pemesanan bagi para peserta Summer Course HK. Haiban dari Cina tentang pariwisata dan perhotelan di Bali secara umum, disamping itu tulisan artikel pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan deskripsi singkat tentang pemesanan kamar di hotel (room reservation), pengenalan tentang walk-in individual guest reservation, dan contoh-contoh percakapan tentang hotel reservation (walk-in guest). Materi tulisan  artikel pengabdian kepada masyaraka ini merujuk dan/atau diadaptasikan dari sumber-sumber bacaan/referensi tentang pariwisata, perhotelan dan bahasa Inggris profesi bidang pariwisata dan perhotelan. Hasil dan pembahasan menunjukkan bahwa para peserta program summer course telah memiliki pemahaman, wawasan dan pengetahuan tentang materi yang telah disajikan terkait tentang pariwisata dan perhotelan khususnya tentang tamu walk-in atau tamu menginap di haotel tanpa melakukan pemesanan kamar terlebih dahulu.

Abstract

The objectives of this article were to explore, to identify and to present the tourism potencies owned by the Sucen Tourism Destination of Tegallinggah Tourism Village to be able to be developed as A Smart Tourism Village which was located at Bedulu Tourism Village in Gianyar Regency, Bali. The research method applied was Survey Research and the methods used for collecting data were observation and interviewed. The number of populationof the research were 30 people, and the sampling technique used was probability sampling technique where all the members of the population were given the same opportunity to be chosen as the sample of the research. The sampling technique used was Saturated Sampling Technique where all the members of the population were chosen as the samples of the research. In other words, the member of samples of the research were 30 people. The result of the research the tourism potencies owned by the sucen Tourism Village, such as the natural resources, the Human Recouses, excellent products and smart Tourism Village Potencies.
