Abstract

Increased levels of cholesterol in the blood are the main precusors associated with coroner's artery disease, sudden death syndrome and atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis is a common disorder caused by fat, cholesterol, and calcium deposits in the lining of the arteries. The purpose of examination and cholesterol levels in Sindangsari Village, Leuwigoong Subdistrict, Garut Regency is: Knowing cholesterol levels in the community, Increasing public knowledge about the dangers and complications of high cholesterol levels, Providing knowledge General and specific symptoms when cholesterol levels in the blood are high, provide knowledge about handling when indicated high cholesterol levels, socialize a healthy lifestyle to the community for the prevention of high cholesterol levels, The implementation method used is the examination of cholesterol levels in the community and direct public education during the examination to the citizens, namely as many as 60 people. From this community service activity can be concluded, the extension and extension of cholesterol is very beneficial for the cisereuh village community. The information conveyed is better understood by the public because of communicative methods with the achievement of 86% understanding of the material provided and 14% less understanding of the material. The data obtained is more accurate in describing the condition of the cholesterol levels of the community Kp. Cisereuh Ds Sindangsari Kec Leuwigoong.

Abstract

Hypertension is better known by the public as a disease of high blood pressure. High blood pressure (High Blood Pressure / BP), diabetes mellitus and lipid abnormalities are the most common risk factors for cardiovascular disease. The implementation method used is blood pressure checks and counseling related to hypertension. The location of this health education is Lewigoong-Garut District, precisely in Kampung. Ciseureuh Village. Sindangsari. The target of this health education is the pre-elderly-elderly age range. The purpose of conducting health examinations and counseling on blood pressure in Leuwigoong District, Garut Regency are: Knowing the blood pressure in the community and the possibility of hypertension they are experiencing, Increasing public knowledge about the dangers and complications of hypertension, Providing knowledge of general and specific symptoms when blood pressure is above normal/ Hypertension, Providing knowledge about early treatment of Hypertension, Disseminating a healthy lifestyle to young and old age for the prevention of Hypertension. From this community service activity, it can be concluded that blood pressure checks are very useful for residents of Cisereuh Leuwigoong village. Examination that coincides with hypertension education to residents on a one by one basis is more effective when compared to the lecture method because the examiner and residents directly interact and communicate directly.

Abstract

Hypertension is often called the "silent killer" because often people with hypertension go for years without feeling any disturbances or symptoms. Without realizing it, patients experience complications in vital organs such as the heart, brain or kidneys. This activity uses a direct inspection approach to the residents present. The target of community service is residents who are in RT 02/RW 02 Darmaraja Village. Checking blood pressure using a digital sphygmomanometer/tensimeter. The participants who took part in the activity were 16 (sixteen) elderly participants. From this community service activity, it can be concluded that health education about hypertension is needed and routine and ongoing health checks obtained from the results of activities including hypertension as much as 75% or 12 (twelve) residents, 6.25% or 1 (one) citizen. suffering from heart disease, 6.25% or 1 (one) resident suffering from gout, 6.25% or 1 (one) resident suffering from gastritis/stomach, 6.25% or 1 (one) resident suffering from diabetes.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic outbreak has occurred over the past year throughout the country. In addition to maintaining distance, washing hands and wearing masks, another way to prevent COVID19 is to increase or body immunity. The use of additives in food has a toxic impact. The risk of using food additives in large quantities will pose a big risk to the immune system or the body's immunity against various disorders and diseases so that it is easy to contract COVID-19. Therefore, it is important to consume toxic-free foods that do not reduce immunity so that it is not easy to contract diseases in the face of COVID -19. The method of implementing this community service goes through 3 stages, namely: preparation, implementation and documentation. Implementation of community service through the zoom application to reduce and prevent the transmission of COVID-19. Participants who attended were 68 high school and vocational high school students. Health education for high school and vocational high school students was successfully carried out as an activity to prevent and control COVID-19 by increasing the body's immunity through consuming toxic-free foods that reduce the risk of contracting COVID-19.

Abstract

Introduction: The increase in the number of elderly will have a national impact. In terms of health, increasing age to elderly brings about many changes, one of which is psychological problems such as depression. Objective: This study aims was to compare the psychological conditions of elderly people in nursing homes and at family. Method: A comparative descriptive with secondary data was used to analyse the differences in levels of depression in the elderly. A total of 24 documents with clear demographic data and Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) assessment results were taken for further analysis. Results: Most of the elderly in this study were male (50% in nursing homes, 67% at home). Most of the elderly are in the young elderly category (60-74 years) amounting to 88%, both nursing homes and living at home. The results of the GDS analysis show that more than 75% of elderly people experience mild depression. The Mann Whitney test shows that there is no difference in the level of GDS between elderly people at nursing homes and home with family (p> 0.05). Conclusion: the existence of the same conditions in the nursing homes causes the level of depression in the elderly to be no different from the elderly at home.
