Abstract

The phenomenon of dowry death in India refers to the tragic and often violent death of married women due to unmet dowry demands, which are deeply rooted in the country’s caste-based social structure and patriarchal norms. Despite the existence of legal instruments and awareness campaigns, such incidents remain prevalent, particularly in communities with strong traditional values. This study aims to analyze the Indian government's policies in addressing dowry-related violence and examine the effectiveness of these measures. Using a qualitative non-interactive approach with content analysis, the research draws on scholarly journals, government documents, and reports that discuss the dowry system and related deaths. The findings reveal that although several legal regulations such as the Dowry Prohibition Act, IPC Section 498A, and Domestic Violence Act have been enacted, dowry deaths persist due to gaps in law enforcement, social acceptance of dowry, and the continued influence of caste and gender hierarchies. The study concludes that dowry-related violence cannot be effectively eliminated through legal means alone; a deeper transformation in societal attitudes, gender roles, and traditional expectations is essential to reducing dowry deaths in India.

Abstract

The construction of illegal sea fences in Tarumajaya District, Bekasi Regency, has restricted fishermen's access to marine resources, triggering environmental degradation, economic decline, and social conflict. This study aims to analyze the impacts of sea fence construction in Bekasi Regency from environmental, social, and economic aspects, as well as the responses of coastal communities in Bekasi Regency. This research uses a qualitative approach to explore the social and economic dynamics of coastal communities through observations in Tarumajaya District, Bekasi Regency, as well as in-depth interviews with fishermen, policymakers, and affected communities. The findings reveal that, from a social perspective, the sea fences have triggered horizontal conflicts among fishermen due to competition over fishing grounds and have led to social exclusion, worsening the welfare of coastal communities. From an economic standpoint, reduced catches have caused a decline in fishermen's incomes and forced some to switch professions, though alternative job options often lack comparable stability.

Abstract

Media pembelajaran dituntut untuk selalu berkembang mengikuti era sekarang dan pendidik sebagai operator dituntut untuk menguasai media pembelajaran. Perkembangan dan penggunaan media pembelajaran secara visual, audio dan video hingga penggunaan Virtual Reality (VR) dalam pembelajaran terus dilakukan penelitian dan dikembangkan. Hal ini dapat meningkatkan efektivitas, efisiensi dan motivasi belajar peserta didik dalam penggunaan media VR. Penggunaan VR berbasis MilleaLab dapat dijadikan sebagai media pembelajaran Geografi untuk dapat mendukung peserta didik dalam mempelajari dan memahami materi pada dunia virtual. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian deskripsi kualitatif. Analisis deskriptif dilakukan dengan menjelaskan persepsi peserta didik terhadap penggunaan virtual reality berbasis millealab sebagai media pembelajaran geografi (materi fenomena geosfer).

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh video Youtube sebagai sumber informasi dalam pembelajaran geografi topik Sebaran Tumbuhan dan Fauna di Indonesia dan Di Seluruh Dunia pada kelas XI SMA Sosial Negeri 113 Jakarta terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif melalui pendekatan eksperimen semu. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan pertimbangan tertentu. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah XI – 8 IPS sebagai kelas eksperimen yang akan menggunakan video Youtube dalam pembelajarannya dan XI – 7 IPS sebagai kelas kontrol yang akan menggunakan Powerpoint dalam pembelajarannya. Pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui pre-test dan post-test. Pada hasil uji instrumen penelitian, data valid dan reliabel. Pada hasil persyaratan analisis menggunakan uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas yang menyatakan bahwa data berdistribusi normal dan homogen. Hasil analisis data menyatakan nilai signifikan (sig.) adalah 0% dengan ketentuan dasar jika nilai sig. (2-tailed) < 5% maka berpengaruh. Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar kognitif antara sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan video Youtube pada topik Sebaran Flora dan Fauna di Indonesia dan Di Seluruh Dunia sehingga disimpulkan bahwa video Youtube berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to improve earthquake disaster mitigation skills in early childhood by using a picture storybook that incorporates storytelling and role-playing methods. The research was conducted at Sekolah Alam Bekasi from February to April 2025. A mixed-method approach was employed, integrating both quantitative and qualitative techniques. The population consisted of all kindergarten students at Sekolah Alam Bekasi, totaling 60 children. A sample of 30 students was selected through purposive random sampling. Data were collected using interviews and questionnaires. The book Berani Menghadapi Guncangan was rated highly feasible with a feasibility score of 93.75%. Student responses indicated a very high level of interest, reaching 98.7%. Their knowledge of earthquake mitigation increased significantly, as shown by an N-Gain score of 0.7742, which exceeds the 0.7 threshold and is therefore considered effective, with an overall effectiveness level of 77%. Therefore, it can be concluded that book Berani Menghadapi Guncangan is not only interesting, but also has a significant impact on disaster mitigation learning. This makes the book highly suitable and effective for disaster education for early childhood.
