Abstract

The prevalence of mental disorders in prison inmates (WBP) has increased due to high stressors in the correctional environment. Inmate’s stress comes from difficulties in adjusting to prison life with the obligation to follow applicable rules, being separated from family, losing goods and services, losing freedom and losing patterns of sexuality One way to deal with stress is to provide social support which can also increase resilience. The research aims to identify the increased resilience of prisoners after being given support group therapy. The research was conducted using a quasi-experimental method with a one group pretest-posttest design model. The population of this study were inmates who are in Class II Ambarawa Penitentary. The sample in this study was determined by non-random sampling with inclusion criterias are inmates who behaved well while in the correctional environment, aged over 17 years and had a low to moderate resilience score. The sample in this study consisted of 10 inmates who have low-moderate levels of resilience based on the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale 25 (CD-RISC 25). Data were collected in two months between September-Novermber 2022. Data were analyzed using different test of independent sample t-test. The results showed that there was an increase in the resilience of the respondents after being given support group therapy. Inmates can provide social support in correctional facilities through support group therapy in order to increase the resilience level of other prisoners.  Keyword: Inmate , Resilience, Support group therapy

Abstract

Sectio Caesarea surgery causes pain on a mild to severe scale in patients, impacting hemodynamic conditions, so attention is needed to this problem and its management with non-pharmacological therapy using aromatherapy and acupressure as a treatment companion in health services. The aim of the study was to analyze the effect of lavender aromatherapy and acupressure interventions on reducing the pain scale in postoperative sectio caesarea patients. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test with a control group design with a total sample of 16 respondents in each group taken by random sampling system. The group was given lavender aromatherapy intervention and acupressure, while the control group was only given lavender aromatherapy. The results of the research from the t-test showed that the administration of aromatherapy and acupressure had an effect on reducing the pain scale of postoperative sectio caesarea patients with a p-value = 0.000 and a decrease in the mean pain scale from 4.44 (pre-test) to 2.50 (post-test). This shows that aromatherapy and acupressure as complementary therapies can be used as non-pharmacological therapies as supporting treatment and alternative self-care to assist in overcoming pain problems in postoperative sectio caesarea patients. This study shows that lavender aromatherapy and acupressure effectively reduce pain scales in postoperative sectio caesarea patients.

Abstract

This research aims to develop and analyze the characteristics, feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of the MPPj ethno-STEAM e-LKPD to improve students' numeracy literacy and conservation character. MPPj is an abbreviation for Project Learning Model, a learning model based on PjBL. The research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method, with the approach model used being the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model. The analysis stage was carried out to determine students' needs for teaching materials through interviews with teachers. The design stage is carried out to create a design for the e-LKPD. The development stage was carried out to develop research instruments. The instruments in this research include test instruments and non-test instruments. The implementation stage is carried out for product testing. The trials were carried out three times, namely small-scale trials to test the validity and reliability of the instrument and product feasibility, large-scale trials for practicality and effectiveness, and finally, implementation trials to determine the practicality and effectiveness of the final product. The evaluation stage is carried out to analyze the results of product implementation. The research results show (1) the characteristics of e-LKPD, (2) the product is suitable for use based on the results of feasibility tests by material experts and media experts, (3) the product is declared practical based on the results of the practicality questionnaire analysis by teachers and students, (4) the product is effectively used to develop numeracy literacy with indicators of estimating and calculating, using fractions, recognizing and using patterns, using spatial reasoning, using measurements, interpreting statistical information analyzed based on N-gain results, effectively developing conservation character based on the results of analysis of observation sheets with conservation indicators, namely caring, creativity, love of the country, responsibility, caring for the environment, using wisely and effectively in MPPj ethno-STEAM based on the results of the analysis of the project assessment sheet.
