Abstract

The aim of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of early ambulation on post partum hemorhage in independent of midwifery practice. The research was a quasi-experimental with two group post-test research design. The number of samples was 30 subjects. The early ambulation programs consists of lay aside - sit down position, and lay aside-sit down-stand up position for 1 to 2 hours. Post partum hemorhage was measured by counting the amount of bleeding during post partum. Afterwards, the data were analyzed using Mann Whitney test. The results showed that the average amount of bleeding within the experimental group decreased 6.33 cc after the early ambulation with lay aside - sit down position in the first and second hours as well as in the control group which declined 9.66 cc after the early ambulation lay aside-sit down-stand up position 1 hour to 2 hours. However, there was no significant diference between post partum hemorhage in the experimetal and the control group (z=1.131, p0.05). It can be concluded that either early ambulation with lay aside - sit down position or lay aside-sit down-stand up position for 1 hour to 2 can decrease post partum hemorhage.

Experimental studies using randomize design pre-post test control group design. In this design of research have four group which devided into three group interventions and one control. The group intervention were given honey drink, ginger, combination of ginger and honey while the control group were given vitamin B6 which given to pregnant women who experience nausea and vomiting. The results showed no statistically significant effects among the three intervention groups and a control group of the duration of nausea, frequency of nausea, vomiting frequency and the frequency of nausea and vomiting (p value0.05) (drink honey p=0.007; ginger p= 0.001, a combination of ginger and honey p=0.001) and the control group (p=0.001). Giving drink ginger and honey combination is used as one of the best options in the treatment of nausea and vomiting in pregnant women.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that affects children’s physical growth, cognitive development, and long-term quality of life. Prevention efforts require integrated interventions, including nutrition education and the strengthening of emotional management skills for mothers of children under five. This community service program aims to improve mothers’ knowledge through mother classes combined with coping skill training (CST) as a strategy to monitor child growth and detect stunting early. The program was implemented through several stages: planning, coordination with posyandu cadres, pretest-Posttets, health education using leaflets, posttest, data analysis, and evaluation. The participants were mothers of children under five at Posyandu Mawar Merah, Kedungkelor Village, Warurejo District, Tegal Regency. The results showed an increase in knowledge among 29 respondents, while 1 respondent experienced a decrease, with a statistically significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (p = 0.000; p < 0.05). These findings demonstrate that enhancing the capacity of mothers with toddlers through the Toddler Mothers Class combined with coping skill training for stunting prevention in Kedung Kelor, Tegal is effective in improving mothers’ knowledge of emotional management in monitoring child growth and development for stunting prevention. The program is recommended to be further developed with varied counseling methods to enhance sustainability and effectiveness.
