Abstract

Masalah pengangguran masih menjadi salah satu indikator tingginya tingkat kemiskinan.

Abstract

Oil prices directly impact Venezuela's circumstance due to 95% of their revenue come from oil export. Since 2013, oil prices drop significantly compared to the previous year. Thus, the crisis hits Venezuela severely. The impacts not only feel in domestic level but also in international level. China is Venezuela's bilateral partner that was impacted by the Venezuela crisis. Venezuela failed to fulfill their oil export to China to pay their loan in the oil-for-loan diplomacy scheme. Thus, their cooperation failed to fulfill the economic gain. However, China still shows the action that favorable Venezuela. Backing up non-intervention toward Venezuela in the UN, provide new loan and adjust the payment of the previous loan also diversify their investment in Venezuela. This paper argues that this action is no more for merely material gain. But it is the action that is based on the newly ideational aspect of China's foreign policy, which is the China Community of Common Destiny. Thus, this research will analyze how this rhetoric idea involves China's action towards Venezuela. Also, this research will address their relations and China's diplomatic option toward their relations with Venezuela in crisis circumstances.

Abstract

Accelerated urbanization, climate crisis, and increasing food insecurity in various parts of the world have prompted cities to seek innovative strategies to ensure the sustainability of food systems while preserving the environment. One approach that is increasingly being adopted is urban agriculture, which combines food production with ecosystem services. This study conducts a comparative analysis of various urban agriculture practices in seven countries—Iran, the United Kingdom, Argentina, South Korea, Singapore, Zimbabwe, and New Zealand—to assess their impact on food security and environmental conservation. Each region has different forms of practices such as community gardens, rooftop gardens, vertical farming, permaculture, and community agroecology, which are implemented to enhance social solidarity, community empowerment, energy efficiency improvements, and food sovereignty. Government support varies from weak to very strong, with Singapore and South Korea providing comprehensive policy interventions, while Zimbabwe and Iran tend to rely on community-led initiatives. Contributions to food security are particularly notable in regions with high food vulnerability, such as Iran and Zimbabwe, as well as through national-scale food security strategies, such as in Singapore. On the other hand, contributions to environmental conservation include the provision of public green spaces, climate change mitigation, urban heat island cooling, carbon sequestration, water and soil resource conservation, and biodiversity enhancement. This study employs a qualitative approach using a comparative study method based on literature review. Data were collected from various scientific publications, policy reports, and relevant case studies, then analyzed to identify similarities, differences, and success factors of urban agriculture practices in each country. The analysis focused on the relationship between the form of practice, the level of policy support, and its impact on food security and environmental sustainability. The findings of this study confirm that the effectiveness of urban agriculture is determined by the alignment of practice forms with the local context, adequate policy support, and its integration into sustainable development strategies, thereby functioning as a strategic instrument in building a resilient and environmentally friendly urban food system.

Abstract

Urban areas are increasingly dealing with connected issues like environmental damage, food insecurity, and the loss of inclusive public spaces, especially in fast-growing cities like Bandar Lampung. These problems require responses that involve the community and go beyond government-led initiatives. This research looks at how community gardens, supported by groups other than the government, like local communities, regional governments, and international networks such as UCLG-ASPAC, that supports local governments in Asia-Pasific through advocacy, capacity building, and promoting inclusive sustainable development. Using examples from around the world, the study examines the urban agriculture program in Singapore, Rosario, Seoul, Seville and Yogyakarta. These cases show how community gardens can boost biodiversity, improve air quality, support food sovereignty, and create inclusive public spaces. Tropical cities, unlike those in temperate climates, can take advantage of year-round growing seasons, which opens up new possibilities for ecological innovation and local food systems. This research emphasizes that community gardens are not just green spaces; they are socio-ecological infrastructures that help strengthen urban resilience and promote justice. The involvement of groups outside the government is key to starting and expanding these initiatives. In line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 11, SDG 2, and SDG 13), the study concludes with practical suggestions for integrating community gardening into inclusive urban planning, particularly in tropical areas. This research provides valuable insights for policy-makers, practitioners, and international networks on creating ecologically fair and community-driven urban futures.
