The impact of Covid-19 in general has influenced many changes, especially in the socio-economic sector which affects changes in aspects of human daily life. The rate of the Indonesian people's economy which tends to decline is one aspect of change during the Covid-19 pandemic. Changes in the rate of the economy have made it difficult for people to meet their basic needs such as clothing, food, shelter and education for children. The purpose of this study is to describe the adaptation strategies carried out by fishing communities in an effort to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic. The method used in this study is a case study with a qualitative approach. The process of collecting primary data in this study is through in-depth interviews with 10 informants. Abstract

This study was conducted to understand the influence of monsoons and ocean currents on the distribution and composition of waste in the Wonorejo Mangrove Ecotourism, Surabaya. Using a shoreline survey method at five locations, waste data was collected in March, May, and September 2024. The analysis focused on measuring the amount and weight of waste, especially plastic, rubber, cloth, and other materials. The results showed that plastic waste was the most dominant, reaching 95.33% of the total weight of waste in September, while in March and May, the amount was also very high. A significant spike in rubber waste was recorded in May, possibly due to increased recreational activities during the holiday season. The pattern of waste changes showed that the west monsoon (December-March) which brought high rainfall caused an increase in the accumulation of waste on the beach, especially plastic and rubber, due to surface flow carrying waste from the mainland to the coast. Conversely, in the east monsoon (June-September), which is generally drier, there was a decrease in the amount of accumulated waste, especially plastic, because the ocean current moving away from the coast reduced the accumulation of waste on the coast. Mangroves play an important role as natural filters, capturing and reducing waste that enters the coastal ecosystem. Based on these findings, it is recommended to improve waste management facilities and public education on reducing the use of single-use plastics to reduce the negative impact of waste on the mangrove ecosystem.

Abstract

The existence of the marine and fisheries sector and the management of coastal areas and small islands is one of the national development agendas. But in fact, the development of the maritime and fisheries sector has not yet been used optimally, so as to make the maritime and fisheries sector as the main stream of national development an integrated and ecosystem-based development policy is needed. is to build fisheries infrastructure in the form of fishing ports for fishing communities in the coastal areas of East Java, one of which is the Popoh fishing port in Tulungagung. The construction of the port was carried out by the Regional Government of East Java Province through the Department of Marine and Fisheries based on the East Java Provincial Budget. It is hoped that with the existence of the Popoh Fisheries Port, the coastal communities of Popoh and its surrounding areas, most of whose residents work as fishermen, can receive the benefits of the port. With the activity of developing the Popoh Fisheries Port automatically these conditions trigger a perception from the surrounding fishing community. The results showed that there were positive and negative perceptions related to the revitalization of the popoh fishing port in Tulungagung. The existence of a positive or good perception in the aspects of cognition, affection, and konasi can lead to good or positive social action on the Popoh fishing community towards the revitalization of the Popoh Fishing Port.

Abstract

Special Economic Zones (SEZs) aim to boost the economy of a region or even a country. In Indonesia, as of 2022, eighteen regions belonged to SEZs, and Singhasari is among those regions—the only SEZ with a digital economic concept. In its implementation, a Good Governance concept is needed to allow for the organisation of management and the achievement of the goals of the development of the SEZ. Concepts such as Community Participation, Stakeholder Involvement, and Local Ownership will be discussed in this research. On the other hand, technology can be utilised to give value to SEZ. The digitalisation of the SEZ can be used in the implementation of Good Governance concepts as well as attracting people and investors to participate. The concept of digitizing the SEZ Singhasari area utilising Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality can be used to introduce the SEZ of Singhasari. Besides, there are also other features such as legal materials underpinning the development of SEZ Singhasari. This study used the principle of Good Governance that underlies SEZ governance. Meanwhile, the concept of digitalisation with the addition of augmented and virtual reality will be used as one of the breakthroughs to harmonize development in the current technological era. Abstract

In recent years, Indonesia has increasingly shown its dependence on the tourism sector by adopting the idea of sustainable tourism as a development strategy. Based on doctrinal legal research method with a statutory and conceptual approach, this article used the concept of sustainable tourism to explore the opportunities and challenges faced by Indonesia in developing tourism sector. This article argues that even though Indonesia has the 2009 Tourism Law that specifically regulates tourism governance based on a multisectoral approach, this law does not clearly adopt the concept of sustainable tourism, resulting in different perceptions between actors at various levels of tourism administration. The sustainable tourism agenda in particular still depends on the initiatives of each actor, is fragmented and heavily influenced by various factors of power relations, financial capacity, and human resources. This article suggests the need for strengthening legal and institutional frameworks to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals that place communities as the subject of tourism development. Keywords: Sustainable tourism, the 2009 Tourism Law, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals, tourism governance.

Abstract

Graphical Abstract Highlight Research Financial Well-being is the result of the interaction between cognitive factors (literacy), psychological factors (attitude, self-efficacy), and behavior, but, it is closely associated with the psychological domain. Strengthening financial literacy programs by combining practical (skills and behavior) and attitudinal (attitude toward money) components to improve FSE, which in turn enhances the FWB of fishermen in Karanggongso Coast. This research expands the financial adaptation paradox to coastal fishing communities, highlighting the unique determinants, such as cognitive, psychological, and behavioral factors that shape their financial outcomes in their pursuit of FWB. Future studies should incorporate non-financial behavior mediating variables and use financial well-being measurements that consider psychological and financial aspects to test direct and indirect pathways.   Abstract Karanggongso Coast is one of the significant hubs for capture fisheries, which serves as a buffer zone in Trenggalek, Indonesia. Small-scale fishing dominates the local livelihood system, and focusing on a dual livelihood system created by its location as a favorite tourist destination. Nevertheless, the community contends with persistent financial instability, characterized by incomeexpenditure imbalances and vulnerability to external shocks. The study aims to analyze the relationships between financial literacy, financial self-efficacy, and financial attitude on financial well-being, with financial behavior as a mediating variable among fishers in Trenggalek Regency, East Java, Indonesia. This study used Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) – Partial Least Square (PLS) to test the relationships between financial literacy, financial self-efficacy, and financial attitude on financial well-being, with financial behavior as a mediating variable. This research was conducted from August to December 2024. The results indicate that directly the variables FL and FSE have a significant positive effect on FWB; FSE significantly improved FWB, whereas FL had direct significant effect on FWB but FSE and FA have a significant negative effect on FB, and FL has no effect on FB. Meanwhile, the variable FB has a significant negative effect on FWB. Then it is known that FB does not mediate the relationship between these factors on FWB. Thus, this study recommends targeted financial support strategies by combining practical and attitudinal (attitude toward financial) components to improve financial self-efficacy, which in turn enhances financial well-being. The study examines determinants of FWB and tests whether FB mediates these relationships. Future research should include non-financial behavioral intervening variables, such as socio-cultural, and use of financial well-being measures that consider both psychological and financial aspects.
