Abstract

The use of technology in education has become an integral component. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the Kahoot application as a learning medium for seventh-grade students at SMPN 1 Ciomas in the academic year 2023/2024. The study employed a qualitative-quantitative approach through Collaborative-Classroom Action Research conducted in two cycles. The research sample consisted of 27 students from class VII E. Data were collected through participatory observation, pre-tests, post-tests, and closed questionnaires. Data analysis results indicated pre-test and post-test values at a significance level of 5% with degrees of freedom of 26 and a t-table value of 2.056, where the t-value for Cycle I was higher than the t-table (6.421 > 2.056) and for Cycle II was also higher than the t-table (9.593 > 2.056). Observations showed a significant increase in student participation levels, shifting from "Fair" in Cycle I to "Very Good" in Cycle II. Questionnaire responses were highly positive, with an average score of 82.24%, indicating student satisfaction and engagement with the Kahoot application. Overall, this study concludes that the Kahoot application could be used as an alternative learning medium or tool to enhance students' vocabulary at SMPN 1 Ciomas.Keywords: Kahoot Application, Vocabulary Mastery, Action Research

Abstract

Introduction:  The issue of malnutrition and stunting in toddlers often stems from parenting mistakes, particularly the inaccuracies in the Practice Feeding. Although the facilities of the Toddler Mother Class are available at the Community Health Center, their utilisation tends to be suboptimal due to an approach dominated by one-way theoretical lectures. This community service activity aims to optimise the Toddler Class into an educational platform based on interactive practices to enhance mothers' knowledge of infant and child feeding practices. Methods:  This activity was carried out at the Kesambi Primary Health Center in Cirebon City, involving 15 mothers with toddlers aged 0–24 months and 2 cadres as sustainability partners. The program implementation method is divided into three comprehensive stages: the preparation stage (policy coordination and assessment of the needs of mothers with toddlers), the implementation stage (IYCF education ), and the evaluation stage (measurement of cognitive aspects through pre-test and post-test). Results: The educational intervention led to a substantial improvement in maternal knowledge regarding IYCF practices. Prior to the intervention, baseline evaluation showed that only 33.3% of mothers demonstrated good knowledge. Following the implementation of the participatory educational sessions, the proportion of mothers in the good knowledge category increased markedly to 86.7%, reflecting a successful shift in maternal knowledge. Conclusion It is concluded that the education provided to mothers of toddlers, particularly with a different educational model in terms of methods and media usage, where participatory-applicative education is very effective in stimulating cognitive changes in mothers of toddlers in the practice of feeding infants and toddlers. It is recommended that the Puskesmas integrate the interactive practice-based discussion education model into the health promotion program scheme to ensure the sustainability of specific nutrition interventions at the primary service level.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of financial technology has accelerated the widespread adoption of the Indonesian Standard Quick Response Code (QRIS) within the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. However, the use of conventional static QRIS still faces several operational challenges, including manual bank transaction verification and the risk of fraudulent payment confirmation receipts. To address these issues, a community service program was conducted through training and mentoring on the utilization of an Internet of Things (IoT)-based QRIS Soundbox at Rumah Kedelai Grobogan. The program involved 20 participants, consisting of 13 MSME owners, one supervising lecturer, and six assisting lecturers. The implementation methods included lectures, hands-on device demonstrations, real-time transaction simulations, and interactive discussions. The evaluation results indicated a significant improvement in participants' digital literacy and technical understanding, with 10 participants reporting that the training materials were very easy to understand and 7 participants expressing interest in receiving further mentoring. In conclusion, the integration of an IoT-based QRIS Soundbox proved effective in minimizing transaction fraud risks and accelerating payment verification processes, thereby supporting the digital transformation of local MSMEs.
