Abstract

This research aims to analyze the income of red chili farming in Kalianda Sub-District of South Lampung Regency.  This research is conducted by using census method, involving 30 farmer respondents.  Data were collected in October – November 2016.  The objective is analyzed descriptively and quantitatively using R/C ratio.  The results showed that the income of red chili farming is Rp91,519,527.08/ha and the value of R/C on total cost is 2.95.Key words: farming, income, red chili

Abstract

The aims of this research are to analyze the production performance, added value, and profit of chips agroindustry.  Respondents were the owner and employees of agroindustry.  The method used was a case study at Keripik Bude Agroindustry in North Lampung District.  The study uses primary data from interviews and direct observations, as well as secondary data quoted from government agencies.  The analytical methods used are analysis of production performance, analysis of added value and profit.  Production performance of the chips agroindustry which includes productivity, capacity, quality, flexibility, and process rapidity overall have been maximized.  The added value of processing cassava chips has a positive value of IDR12,477.07/kg of cassava raw materials and the added value of processing banana chips is IDR8,154.87/kg of banana raw materials, so the business run by the agroindustry is profitable.  The total profit from selling cassava chips and banana chips is IDR514,562.50 per production or IDR5,145,625.00 per month, so this business is profitable. Key words: added value, production performance, profit

Abstract

This study aims to analyze income and marketing efficiency of ‘patin’ fish.  The research location has been chosen purposively in Seputih Raman Subdistrict Lampung Regency.  Data were collected in September-November 2016. This research uses a  survey method.  The census method is used to know farmers’ income on patin fish, and the marketing channel is used by using snowball sampling.  The results showed that patin fish aquaculture is profitable with R/C value of 2.06 and the farmers’ income is Rp61,799,669.90.  There are three channels of patin fish marketing but all of the channels are inefficient. It is seen from the producer share of less than 70 per cent.  Marketing margin and profit margin ratio (PMR) are not prevalent.  Market structure of patin fish in Lampung Tengah district is imperfect competitive market (olygopsoni).Key words:  Catfish, income, marketing efficiency

Abstract

This study aims to determine post-harvest handling and the amount of post-harvest costs and to analyze the added value of the rice milling business in the Independent Integrated City of Mesuji. The research method used a survey method. The study was conducted in the villages of Tanjung Mas Mulya, Tanjung Mas Makmur, and Pangkal Mas Mulya, East Mesuji Sub-District. The samples of this research were farmers and agro-industries. The number of samples were 37 farmers in Tanjung Mas Mulya Village, 22 farmers in Pangkal Mas Mulya Village, and 9 farmers in Tanjung Mas Makmur Village, while the samples from agro-industries were 5 owners from Tanjung Mas Mulya Village, 4 from Pangkal Mas Mulya Village, and 2 from Tanjung Mas Makmur Village.  Data collection was conducted from June to July 2019. The study results show that post-harvest handling by farmers was limited to transportation. The amount of harvest cost and post-harvest cost is IDR3,513,359.97 per hectare. The average value added in agro-industries using box dryer machines was IDR629.97 per kilogram of raw materials and IDR525.68 per kilogram of raw materials for agro-industries not using box dryer machines. Key words : added value, post harvest, rice milling

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development strategy of Pangasius skin chips agroindustry. The location of this research was determined with consideration of Rafin’s Snack is the largest chip agroindustry in Pajaresuk District and yet still has the potential to be developed. Respondents in this study consisted of various parties involved to the analysis of development strategy for the agroindustry, namely agroindustry owners, representatives of the Pringsewu District Fisheries Service, the Office of Cooperatives, SMEs, Industry and Trade of Pringsewu District, and a lecturer at the University of Lampung. Data was collected in January 2023. The analytical method used was SWOT analysis (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threat) and QSPM (Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix) analysis. The results showed that the main strength of Rafin's Snack Agroindustry is the availability of sufficient raw materials, the main weakness is limited capital, the main opportunity is wide market reach, the main threat is the change in people's tastes. The prioritized development strategies for Rafin's Snack Agroindustry are to do consumer research and to adapt by creating more flavors to the product, to use a cloud-based cashier application (point of sale) in making transactions, to use electronic word of mouth (eWOM) by using the services of influencers or key opinion leaders (KOL) for promoting product and improving brand awareness, to organize educational seminars in collaboration with universities (business goes to campus) to strengthen brand identity and build consumer trust, as well as to utilize production machine provided by the Pringsewu District Fisheries Service.

Abstract

The aims of this research are to analyze the level of food security, the factors that influence the level of household food security, and efforts to increase the level of food security of palm oil farmer households.   The location of this research is chosen purposively in Bangunrejo Sub district, Central Lampung Regency in which respondents are 75 palm oil farmers household.  The data were collected in January – March 2019 using a survey method and analyzed using cross-classification between the share of food expenditure and energy adequacy level, ordinal logistic regression, and descriptive qualitative analysis.  The results of the research showed that the majority of farmer households (61.33%) were classified as food secure, and the rest were classified as less food secure (28%), vulnerable to food (9.33%), and food insecure (1.33%).  The affecting factors on the level of food security were formal education level of housewives, households’ income, and number of household members. The efforts to increase the level of food security by Government were through monitoring food availability and food reserves, developing food distribution and stabilization of food prices, Program Keluarga Harapan (PKH), Raskin, and Bantuan Pangan Non Tunai (BPNT). Whereas, the efforts by palm oil farmer households were food loan (93.33%) and changing dietary habit (6.67%).Key words: cross-clasification, food security, palm oil farmer households

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the level of income and welfare of organic and inorganic rice farmers households in Pringsewu and Pardasuka Sub-District. This research used a case study method in Pringsewu and Pardasuka Sub-District, Pringsewu Regency purposively with consideration that the area is a regional pioneer of organic rice farming in Lampung Province and has obtained SNI certification from the government. The total samples were 37 farmers consisted of 17 organic rice farmers and 20 inorganic rice farmers. The data were collected in April-June 2018 and analyzed by farm income analysis, household income analysis, and welfare analysis based on BPS’s criteria (2014). The results showed that the average household income of organic and inorganic rice farmers in Pringsewu and Pardasuka Sub-Districts are IDR 21,520,505.88 per year and IDR18,785,344.38 per year. Based on BPS’s criteria, as many as 88.24% and70% households of organic and inorganic rice farmers are included in the already prosperous category.Key words: household welfare, inorganic rice, income, organic rice

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the income and welfare level of rice farming households. The purposive choice of Batanghari District in East Lampung Regency as the research's location. The survey approach was applied to this research, which was carried out between November 2022 and December 2022. The sample for this research consisted of 54 rice farmers taken using the simple random method. This research employed descriptive quantitative data analysis. The results show that rice farming conducted by rice farmers is financially successful because of  the R/C value is 2.37 in the rainy season (MH) and 2.35 in the dry season (MK), indicating that the farm is financially successful and practicable with an R/C value of greater than one. Rice farmer household income consists of several sources of income, rice farm income, non rice income, off farm income, and non farm income with a total average income of IDR 30,813,218.52/year. Farmer household expenditure is for food expenditure of IDR 7,833,004.37/year, while non-food expenditure of IDR 21,314,555.56/year. The results are categorized as sufficient according towelfare level of rice farmer promoted by Sajogyo  with a percentage of 70.37%, and included in more prosperous criteria based on Good Serivice Ratio’s welfare level   with GSR <1 and the total percentage of 92.59%. Key words : Farm income, household expenditure, household income, rice, welfare

Abstract

This resarch aims to analyse income and house hold welfare of Etawa goat milk farmers in Sungai Langka Village, Gedong Tataan of Pesawaran District. The location was chosen purposively by the consideration that most farmers are Etawa goat. Primary and secondary data were collected in May - August 2018. Data are analyzed using quantitative and qualitative descriptive analyses. The research results showed that Etawa goat milk farming provided monthly income of Rp1,283,800.00. The farming is profitable with the R / C value of 3.17 over cash cost and 1.28 over total cost. Farmers’ welfare is included in prosperous category.Key words :Etawa goat, farmers, income, milk

Abstract

This research aims to analyze main production cost, added value, and income of tempe chips agroindustry. This research uses a case study method at three tempe chips agroindustries which are located in Metro City. Therefore, they are chosen purposively by considering the agroindustries are still active to produce.  Respondents of this research are the owners of the tempe chips agroindustries. The field research was conducted in February until March 2019. The data collected in this research are primary and secondary data. Then, data analysis method uses quantitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that main production cost of tempe chips agroindustry is IDR32,874.39 per kilogram. Added values of tempe chips agroindustry show the positive values hence it is feasible to be developed. Tempe chips agroindustries are profitable because of the R/C values of more than 1.Key words: added value, agroindustry, cost, income, tempe chips
