Abstract

Romaine lettuce production has decreased on a national scale. One effort that can be made to increase the production and yield of romaine lettuce is to cultivate it with proper fertilization and reduce the use of inorganic fertilizers and pesticides. This research aims to determine the interaction of cassava fertilizer doses and differences in planting distance for the growth and yield of romaine lettuce plants. The method used is a factorial randomized block design (RAK) with treatments of 5 tons/ha, 10 tons/ha, 15 tons/ha, and 20 tons/ha. as well as differences in planting distances of 15x20cm, 20x25cm and 25x25cm. The results of the treatment of cassava fertilizer dosage and plant spacing had a significant effect on the research variables of leaf number, but had no effect on plant height, root volume, wet weight and dry weight.

Abstract

Red spinach is a vegetable whose demand is very high, so further research is needed to increase theproduction quality of this commodity. The use of organic fertilizers such as manure can help increase the yield and growth of red spinach (Amaranthus sp) cultivation. This study aims to determine the effect of the use and a good dose for growth and obtain good results on red spinach (Amaranthus sp). This study used a randomized block design consisting of 2 factors and was repeated 3 times. The first factor was the type of manure, namely chicken manure and quail manure. The second factor is the dose of manure, namely the dose of 10 tons/ha, the dose of 20 tons/ha, and the dose of 30 tons/ha. From the results of the study, it was found that there was no significant interaction with all the red spinach measurement variables.

Abstract

Grapes are vines in the form of bushes and or are eaten directly. Grapes contain many polypheno and reseveratrol compounds which are active in various metabolisms, and are able to prevent the formation of cancer cells and other diseases. The main problem with penetrating is that it is difficult to form roots. Therefore, efforts that can be made to encourage, accelerate and stimulate the formation of roots and increase the quality and number of roots can be done by giving PGR to cuttings. This study aims to determine the effect of giving several concentrations of shallot extract and a combination of planting media on the growth of grape cuttings (Vitis vinifera L.) This research was carried out experimentally using a factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) method with 2 treatment factors consisting of: the first is without soaking natural ZPT, namely K0 = 0% shallot extract, and soaking with natural ZPT, namely K1 = 100% shallot extract. The second factor is the planting medium with 4 levels, namely M1 = Soil; M2 = Soil + Sand (2 : 1); M3 = Soil + Cocopeat + Sand (2 : 1 : 1). From the research results obtained, there was an interaction on the number of shoots at the age of 28 HST, the speed of shoot growth, and the length of the shoots at the ages of 21 and 28 HST.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of bagasse and tea as a growing medium on the growth and yield of red lettuce (Lactuca sativa L. var. crispa). The research was carried out in January - March 2023. The study used the Randomized Block Design (RBD) method which consisted of 5 treatments with 4 replicates, each treatment consisting of 3 plants which produced 20 experimental units. The treatments included: P0 (100% soil), P1 (75% soil + 25% bagasse), P2 (75% soil + 25% tea bagasse), P3 (50% soil + 50% sugarcane bagasse), P4 (50% soil 50% + 50% tea dregs). The observed variables consisted of plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, fresh weight per plant, dry weight per plant, and harvest index. The data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) then followed by a 5% level honest significant difference test (BNJ). And there is the effect of a combination of tea waste growing media on plant height, plant wet weight, and harvest index of red lettuce plants.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer vermicompost and ZPT cytokinins on the growth and yield of mustard greens (Brassica sinesis L). This research was conducted in Mojoruntut Village, Krembung District, Sidoarjo Regency from December 2022 to January 2023. This research method was carried out using a factorial randomized block design (RAK) consisting of 2 factors. The data obtained were processed using ANOVA, if there were differences between the treatments, the 5% BNJ test would be continued. The variables observed were plant height, number of leaves, fresh weight, dry weight, root length, and harvest index. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the application of liquid organic fertilizer from pineapple peel waste has a significant effect on the observation variables of plant height, number of leaves, fresh weight, dry weight and root length. While not significantly different in the harvest index observation variable. The optimal administration of liquid organic vermicompost fertilizer and cytokinin ZPT is with a concentration of 25 ml/l (P4) and 2ml/l (Z1).

Abstract

Selada batavia memiliki permintaan yang tinggi di Indonesia, namun produksi domestiknya masih belum mencukupi sehingga harus dilakukan impor. Penggunaan pupuk kimia secara berlebihan menyebabkan kerusakan tanah, sehingga pupuk organik cair (POC) dari ampas kopi diusulkan sebagai alternatif yang ramah lingkungan dan kaya nutrisi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian konsentrasi POC ampas kopi dan interval waktu pemberian pupuk sebagai alternatif dalam meningkatkan produktivitas selada Batavia upaya mengurangi ketergantungan pada pupuk kimia. Penelitian ini dilakukan di lahan Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo, serta menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial dengan dua faktor utama: konsentrasi POC (150 ml/L, 200 ml/L, 250 ml/L, dan 300 ml/L) dan interval waktu pemberian (3, 6, dan 9 hari sekali). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terjadi interaksi antara P dan K, konsentrasi pupuk ampas kopi memengaruhi pertumbuhan tanaman, dengan konsentrasi optimal pada 200 ml/L. Interval waktu pemberian pupuk juga berpengaruh, dengan interval 6 hari sekali memberikan hasil terbaik. Meskipun variasi dalam pemberian pupuk tidak signifikan mempengaruhi indeks panen, indeks panen yang tinggi menunjukkan nilai ekonomis yang lebih baik untuk tanaman.

Abstract

Garbage is a problem for the community and the government. Moreover, according to data from KLH (2021) more than 50% of the total garbage in the community are household waste, because majority of the waste is remnants of daily activities. In addition to having an environmental impact, waste aesthetically reduces beauty and affects health with the appearance and smell it causes. To minimize the impact of waste, there must be some kind of activities to manage waste such as reducing and handling the produced waste. The problem faced by PKK women in Kajartengguli Village is how to manage and handle household waste which is increasing day by day, especially non-organic waste that cannot be decomposed. Which, all this time, the garbage was burned. This situation causes the environment to become less clean and tends to be underestimated. This community service activity aims to provide knowledge and socialization to the community about waste and its management to provide benefits such as increasing income by managing non-organic waste. The method is to conduct socialization related to waste and its use, provide counseling and assistance in managing non-organic waste into products that can be sold. This outreach and counseling was carried out through PKK Women in Kajartengguli Village by bringing in expert from the waste management staff of the Sidoarjo Regency Environmental Agency. The results of this activities showed that PKK women responded well in dealing with the waste generated. In addition, the level of understanding of the 3Rs, namely reduce, reuse and recycle has increased.

Abstract

The occurrence of various risks that are intentional or non-intentional in the sugarcane planting process affect the quality of sugarcane. In addition to affecting the quality, the higher the risk that arises, it also causes the productivity of sugarcane to decrease. Although the sugar factory has provided counseling and assistance to sugarcane farmers, the different characters and conditions of the soil and the environment resulting in risks during the sugarcane planting process that are still high. The decline in quality and productivity was reported in several magazines such as Tempo, Hortus, and Kominfo as indicated by data on the decline in sugarcane yields since August 2016. The yield decreased from 6.5% to 5.7% to 5.8%, this decrease affecting farmers' incomes. This study aims to determine what factors trigger the emergence of risk during the planting process that causes the quality and productivity of sugarcane to decline. The method used in this research is depth interview. Initial information is obtained from sugarcane farmers and managers about the factors that triggers the emergence of risk during the sugarcane planting process. The results of this study founds that several risk factors can be occurred during the planting period, including risks due to soil structure, lack of fertilizer, pest attacks, delays in the klentek process, lack of water supply, and land fires.

Abstract

Background: Stunting is a major public health issue in Indonesia, particularly in rural areas where limited access to health information exacerbates the problem. Empowering women through health literacy is essential in addressing stunting and related health risks. Specific Background: In Gedangan Village, Pasuruan Regency, high rates of stunting, poor maternal nutrition, and the prevalence of early marriage have been identified as key challenges. Existing interventions have lacked comprehensive, community-based approaches to stunting prevention. Knowledge Gap: There is a need for scalable models that combine education, digital tools, and community involvement to effectively address stunting at the local level. Aims: This study aimed to evaluate the impact of the SI TUTI (Anti-Stunting Literacy) Based Women's School Program, designed to empower women through education and digital resources to reduce stunting rates. Results: The program involved PKK Cadres, Posyandu, and Aisyiyah Branch Members, with the SI TUTI mini book and ASTUTI application as key tools. Post-training assessments showed a 30% increase in participants' understanding of stunting, with a 95% satisfaction rate regarding educational materials and media. The use of digital tools facilitated improved access to health information. Novelty: This program integrates traditional education methods with digital innovations, offering a replicable model that addresses stunting at the grassroots level, enhancing community engagement through localized content and accessible health literacy tools. Implications: The program demonstrates potential for broader application in similar rural contexts, contributing to the achievement of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals related to public health and well-being. Future efforts will focus on program expansion and continuous evaluation to ensure long-term sustainability and effectiveness in stunting prevention.

Abstract

Urban farming merupakan strategi pertanian perkotaan yang dapat menjawab tantangan ketahanan pangan dan ekonomi masyarakat di wilayah dengan keterbatasan lahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan pemanfaatan lahan kosong melalui pelatihan budidaya jamur tiram sebagai bentuk pemberdayaan ekonomi warga Muhammadiyah di Kecamatan Mayangan, Kota Probolinggo. Metode yang digunakan adalah Participatory Action Research (PAR) yang melibatkan mitra dari Pimpinan Cabang Muhammadiyah (PCM) Kecamatan Mayangan Kota Probolinggo. Kegiatan dilakukan dalam empat tahapan: observasi, perencanaan, tindakan, dan evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa budidaya jamur tiram dapat dilakukan secara efektif di lahan terbatas dengan memanfaatkan limbah organik sebagai media tanam. Evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa 90% peserta tertarik menerapkan urban farming di lingkungan masing-masing, dengan jamur tiram sebagai komoditas unggulan karena nilai ekonominya yang tinggi dan potensi pasar lokal yang kuat. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa pelatihan urban farming berbasis jamur tiram dapat menjadi solusi praktis dan berkelanjutan dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat urban.
