Abstract

Gambling is the act of consciously risking something in a game with expected risks and rewards. Online gambling is done by utilizing a digital platform to place bets using real money. In Indonesia, the most popular online gambling is slots. This study aims to identify whether there is an influence of social environment and income on the motivation to play online gambling (slots) in Medan Helvetia District. Quantitative research methods were used in this study with data collection conducted through questionnaires. The data collected was analyzed and processed using the IBM SPSS Statistics 30.0.0 application. The results showed that the social environment has a positive and significant effect on the motivation to play online gambling (slots), where someone who is in an environment that has been involved in online gambling tends to have greater motivation to play online gambling. Meanwhile, income also has a positive and significant effect, someone with a low income playing online gambling is more motivated by economic factors, while those with high income tend to play because of entertainment

Abstract

Indonesia’s capital market, particularly the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), plays a strategic role in supporting national economic growth. The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) serves as a key indicator for evaluating the performance of the capital market. This study aims to examine the influence of the Rupiah exchange rate, the Bank Indonesia interest rate (BI-Rate), and the United States Federal Funds Rate (FED) on the IHSG during the period 2020–2024. A quantitative approach was employed using secondary data as the primary source. The analysis reveals that the Rupiah exchange rate has no significant impact on the IHSG. In contrast, the BI-Rate has a significant negative effect, while the FED rate exerts a significant positive influence on the IHSG. These findings highlight the importance of both domestic and global interest rate policies in shaping movements in the IHSG. The study also opens opportunities for further research by incorporating additional macroeconomic variables to develop a more comprehensive understanding of the factors affecting Indonesia’s stock market performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of financial literacy, education costs, and future orientation on financial well-being in taking education insurance policies in Deli Serdang Regency. The background of this study is based on the low level of insurance literacy and inclusion in Indonesia, especially in education insurance products, which has implications for less than optimal family financial planning for children's education needs. Through a quantitative approach, this study examines the relationship between the three independent variables on people's financial well-being in the context of decisions to take education insurance policies. The results of the study indicate that financial literacy and future orientation have a significant positive effect on financial well-being, while the high cost of education is an inhibiting factor in making education insurance decisions. These findings emphasize the importance of financial education and increasing public awareness of future planning in order to achieve family financial well-being, as well as the need for strategies to reduce education costs so that education insurance is more affordable and inclusive.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of service quality on life insurance customer satisfaction during the Covid-19 pandemic (a case study of PT Asuransi Jiwa Syariah Bumiputera Medan Branch), with a sample size of 88 customers. The type of data used in this research is quantitative data. The data collection technique used is through a questionnaire. Analysis prerequisite tests include normality test, multicollinearity test, and heteroscedasticity test. Data analysis techniques using the t test, f test, multiple linear regression and test the coefficient of determination.The results showed that (1) there was a positive and significant effect of Tangible indicators on Customer Satisfaction of Life Insurance PT Asuransi Jiwa Syariah Bumiputera Medan Branch of 29.2%, (2) there was a positive and significant effect of Guarantee indicators on Customer Satisfaction of Life Insurance of PT Asuransi Jiwa Bumiputera Sharia Medan Branch of 37.9%, (3) there is a positive and significant effect of the Empaty indicator on Life Insurance Customer Satisfaction PT Asuransi Jiwa Syariah Bumiputera Medan Branch of 33.8%, (4) no significant effect on the Reliability indicator on Customer Satisfaction Life Insurance PT Asuransi Jiwa Syariah Bumiputera Medan Branch of -0.99%, (5) does not significantly influence the response indicator to Customer Satisfaction Life Insurance PT Asuransi Jiwa Syariah Bumiputera Medan Branch -0.33% (6) there is a positive and significant influence Tangible Evidence, Reliability, Response, Guarantee, and Empathy for Life Insurance Customer Satisfaction During the Covid-19 Pandemic PT Asuransi Jiwa Syariah Bumiputera Medan Branch with Fhitung 34,901.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the description and influence of affordability, service quality, and financial education on customer decisions. The research subjects are the residents of Medan City. The method used is a quantitative approach with a survey method through multiple linear regression analysis. The population in this study is the residents of Medan City, numbering 2,480,000 people, with a purposive sampling technique, resulting in a sample size of 100 people. The results of this study indicate that affordability, service quality, and financial education significantly influence customer decisions. Simultaneously, the results show that affordability, service quality, and financial education simultaneously influence customer decisions, with an influence of 75.1%.

Abstract

This study investigates the internal implementation of the hybrid contract in Murabahah bil Wakalah financing at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), Pematangsiantar Perintis Branch, and evaluates its alignment with the DSN-MUI fatwa. Employing a descriptive qualitative method, data were obtained through in-depth interviews. The research reveals that the execution of the Murabahah bil Wakalah contract at BSI Pematangsiantar Perintis is not entirely in accordance with DSN-MUI Fatwa No. 04/DSN-MUI/IV/2000, as both the Murabahah and Wakalah agreements are conducted concurrently. Ideally, the Murabahah agreement should be concluded only after the bank legally possesses the goods via the Wakalah contract. While the simultaneous implementation simplifies the financing process, there is still a need for enhanced internal comprehension and continuous training to ensure full compliance with Islamic legal principles.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh tingkat bagi hasil, inflasi, dan cost to income terhadap pembiayaan musyarakah di Bank Syariah Indonesia tahun 2024, baik secara parsial maupun simultan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif deskriptif dengan data sekunder yang diperoleh dari laporan keuangan Bank Syariah Indonesia tahun 2024. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 48 data dengan teknik sampling jenuh. Analisis data dilakukan melalui uji statistik deskriptif, uji asumsi klasik, regresi linear berganda, uji t, uji F, serta uji koefisien determinasi menggunakan program IBM SPSS 26. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat bagi hasil berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap pembiayaan musyarakah, inflasi tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap pembiayaan musyarakah, sedangkan cost to income berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap pembiayaan musyarakah. Secara simultan, variabel tingkat bagi hasil, inflasi, dan cost to income berpengaruh signifikan terhadap pembiayaan musyarakah di Bank Syariah Indonesia tahun 2024. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa faktor internal bank berupa efisiensi operasional dan tingkat bagi hasil lebih menentukan dalam mendorong pembiayaan musyarakah dibandingkan faktor eksternal seperti inflasi.

Abstract

This paper discusses the use of blockchain technology in the perspective of Islamic economics/Islamic finance. Blockchain technology has changed various sectors, including the financial sector, by providing a secure, decentralized and transparent system. In the context of Islamic economics, blockchain can provide additional benefits by ensuring compliance with sharia principles. This paper outlines how blockchain technology can be used in Islamic finance, such as payment, financing and investment systems that comply with sharia principles. Apart from that, this paper also discusses the potential for using smart contracts in Islamic economics to increase efficiency and transparency in transactions. Through this paper, it is hoped that it can be seen how blockchain technology can strengthen the principles of Islamic finance and facilitate the development of a sharia-based financial sector.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of financial literacy and locus of control on financial behavior within the K-pop fan community in Medan City. The background of this research is based on the phenomenon of consumptive lifestyles among K-pop fans, most of whom come from the younger generation. This study employs a quantitative approach using a survey method with 96 respondents who are members of the K-pop community in Medan. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression tests with the assistance of SPSS 25 software. The results of the study show that, partially, financial literacy has a significant influence on financial behavior (0.000 < 0.05), while locus of control does not have a significant influence on financial behavior (0.724 > 0.05). However, through simultaneous testing (F-test), it was found that financial literacy and locus of control together have a significant influence on financial behavior (0.000 < 0.05). These findings highlight the importance of improving financial literacy among the younger generation to encourage healthy financial behavior, particularly within communities with consumptive tendencies. Therefore, community-based financial education becomes an important strategy in facing the demographic bonus era

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of product, price, place, promotion, process, people, and physical evidence (Marketing Mix 7P) on purchasing interest in Omad Coffee Medan consumers. This study uses a quantitative method. Data collection was carried out using questionnaires, observation and library research. The number of respondents used was 100 respondents who were consumers of Omad Coffee in Medan City. The analysis technique in this study used Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Square (PLS). The results of this study indicate that the variables of product, price, place, and physical form have a significant positive effect on repurchase interest while promotion, process and people do not produce a significant effect on repurchase decisions in Omad Coffee consumers in Medan City.
