Abstract

This study aims to determine the online learning interactions carried out by junior high school teachers in the classroom during the COVID-19 pandemic. The quantitative using survey was used as a research methodology. 141 Mathematic Teachers was selected as the subject of this research. A questionnaire of classroom interaction practice in an online class was used as a data collection technique. The result found that mathematic teachers’ interaction activity in online courses has a different level. The interaction process that mathematic teachers use is in preparing the students to join an online course and leading the discussion with the mean of 4.2 and 4.3. In contrast, the lowest interaction happens in interaction in giving feedback and interaction in closing activity with an average of 2.5. the research also found that 78.70% of mathematic teachers always provide direction to the students in starting the online class. 40.30% of them never ask students to correct incorrect assignments during online learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze various factors that affect students' interest in learning in pesantren-based boarding schools in mathematics subjects. The subjects of the study involved were 27 grade VII students at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Minat Kesugihan, Cilacap. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach. Data was obtained through observation, questionnaire distribution, and interviews with students who lived in Islamic boarding schools. Data analysis is carried out inductively to understand various factors that affect students' motivation to learn. The results of the study indicate that intentual, external, and related factors related to mathematics content affect students' interest in learning mathematics subjects. The three factors have a positive role in increasing students' interest in learning mathematics. This research is expected to contribute to the development of learning strategies in schools, especially Islamic boarding schools to improve the quality of education

Abstract

21st-century   education emphasises the importance of providing students opportunities to foster creative thinking, discover new solutions, and apply concepts to everyday life. One practical approach to encourage creative thinking during lessons is engaging materials or media, such as student worksheets (LKPD). This study aims to develop a mathematics teaching tool, specifically a student worksheet using the canva application based on creative thinking for eighth-grade statistics, which is both valid and practical. This research utilises a Research and Development (R&D) approach, employing the ADDIE model. The ADDIE development model includes five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data analysis incorporates both qualitative and quantitative data. According to assessments from content and media experts, the developed LKPD was rated valid with an average score of 3.2. Student feedback surveys yielded a score of 3.25 (perfect), while teacher feedback surveys received a score of 3.47 (very good). Overall, the average score from student and teacher feedback was 3.36 (very good), indicating that the LKPD is practical for teaching. The developed student worksheet using the Canva application based on creative thinking for eighth-grade statistics is categorised as valid and practical for educational use.

Abstract

Encouraging the use of the independent curriculum emphasizes flexibility and student-centered learning. The development of a contextual e-module provides a solution to facilitate relevant and interactive mathematics learning, particularly in statistics for eighth-grade students. This e-module is designed based on students' daily experiences, making the material easier to understand and promoting independent learning. The research method used is Research and Development (RD) with the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Validation results from the subject matter and media experts indicate that the contextual e-module in mathematics learning on statistics for eighth grade is valid. Practicality tests through teacher and student response questionnaires show highly practical results, with average scores of 3.6 and 3.5 on a maximum practicality scale of 4.0. In conclusion, the contextual e-module in mathematics learning on statistics for eighth grade has proven valid and practical for use in mathematics education and can serve as an effective and relevant learning resource tailored to students' current needs and conditions.
