Worldwide illegal drug trafficking has been constantly increasing. Many countries believethat drug crimes need a special penalization to give a deterrent effect to the perpetrators,one of which is in the form of capital punishment. Indonesia is one of the countries thathas been placing death penalty to the drug users as well as the traffickers. This widelycontroversial approach has been equally applied to many offenders regardless of theirorigins; locals and foreigners, including recently to the Brazilian drug traffickers. Thisresearch discusses the influence of Indonesian death penalty policy to the Brazilians drugtraffickers and how it effects the relations of Indonesia and Brazil. This study found thatthe death sentence policy in Indonesia has made quite an impact to the bilateral relations ofBrazil and Indonesia, where it particularly affects several aspects of economy, military,and especially political relations of the two countries. This research is carried out by usingdescriptive-explanative and qualitative method, focusing on the process and the actualevent of the case gathered from a number of sources and data. This study incorporates theframework of rational choice theory of the decision making policy as the conceptual basisof the research.

Human conflict between the Rakhine and Rohingya ethnics in Myanmar in 2012confiscated international society attention since it broke the human rights. This internalconflict incurred a lot of victims and increased the number of Rohingya refugees escapingto the neighbor countries indirectly engaging several countries, either IGO or NGO. One ofinternational organizations paying attention to this conflict was Organization of IslamicCooperation. This was an analytic descriptive research using library study method andapplying the liberalism and international organization theories. The objective of thisresearch was to find out the roles of Organization of Islamic Cooperation in ethnicalconflict of Rakhine and Rohingya in Myanmar in 2012. The result of this research showedthat the roles of Organization of Islamic Cooperation were including as the initiator,facilitator, and mediator. Organization of Islamic Cooperation had strived to run its rolesas the IGO in helping solve the conflict between Rakhine and Rohingya ethnics inMyanmar.

Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore formed cooperation to handle armed robbery in MalaccaStrait in 2004 named Malsindo. The type of this researchis analytic describtive usingqualitative method to apply neoliberalism theory. This research is aimed to know the reasonmeasures to combat armed robbery cases in Malacca Strait between 2004-2013. The result ofthis researchfinds that 11 September 2001 inUnited States had triggered fear among coastalstates about the potential attack to merchant ships in Malacca Strait, thus caused MalsindoCooperation had just formalized in 2004. This research also finds that measures taken by partsstates to combat armed robbery consists of Malacca Strait Sea Patrol (MSP) which waslaunched in 2004, Eyes in The Sky (EIS) which was launched in 2005 and MSP-IS in 2006.

Italian food product is a very popular product in the world and this fact leads to a largenumber of counterfeiting cases to these products. This can be seen from the large amountof profit reaching 30 billion Euro and ascend to 60 billion Euro. This research aim todetermine the cause of the increasing case of food piracy in the Italian Soundingphenomena in spite of the Italy’s numerous effort in handling this case. This research usesTransnational Organized Crime theory which will then be continued by usingneoliberalism view in the form of International Cooperation theory, InternationalInstitution theory, and International Regime theory. The method used for this research isqualitative with explanative research type. This research proves that the cause of this casecontinues to increase is the lack of awareness from Italy and other countries regarding thiscase which leads to the lack of international cooperation initiative in respond to foodpiracy in the Italian Sounding phenomena case.

IUU (illegal, unreported, unregulated) fishing was deemed by Indonesia as a crime thatinflicted many loss. In Indonesia, IUU fishing mostly occured at Arafura Sea whereAustralian sea territory were partially included. The mentioned problems in this researchare why Indonesia and Australia establish a cooperation to deter IUU fishing at Arafurasea and the affects. The purpose of this research is to explain and analyse the cooperationthat undertaken by Indonesia and Australia to deter IUU fishing at Arafura Sea. For thosepurposes, this research using the liberalism theory, cooperation concept, maritime securityconcept and transnational crime concept as a tool of analysis. This research is conductedby using the qualitative research method with explanative research type through interviewsand literature studies. The cooperation between Indonesia and Australia to deter IUUfishing at Arafura Sea were conducted through bilateral an multilateral efforts. For bothstates, particulary Indonesia, the cooperation are the part of their efforts to create amaritime security with the protection of economic and reliability sector of respective statesas the ultimate goal.

Indonesia is a big a country that being targeted by international narcotics trafficker which is Transnational Organized Crime. One of the example is the Brazilian who tried to smuggle narcotics to Indonesia. This research is using two cases of studies, i.e. Rodrigo Gularte that has been apprehended in 2003 and Reginaldo Bom Fim is in 2012 by Indonesian National Police for smuggling Brazilian narcotics to Indonesia. In this regard, Indonesia – Brazil cooperation on combating narcotics becomes an interesting point to be studied. The research questions of this study is “How is Indonesia – Brazil cooperation on combating narcotics originated from Brazil? ; and Is there any factors that might supports or detains the cooperation?†The point of this research is to explain the procedure of cooperation between Indonesia – Brazil on combating drugs and explaining the factors that tied this cooperation. This research is using Liberalism theory and Implementation Policy theory. The Liberalism is being used to explain the procedure of cooperation between two countries effectively and then being ratified to be implemented. Also Implementation Policy theory is used for explaining the procedure of implementation on combating the drugs. Descriptive methods are being used in this research to explain the cooperation and the implementation of combating drugs policy. As the result, this study found that Indonesian – Brazil cooperation formally established after legal basis has been ratified, and then implemented by two ways of cooperation, which are cooperation between the Government (G to G) and cooperation between national police department (P to P). As for the process of cooperation, has its own tidal wave caused by inhibitor and stimulant factors by the two cases that’ve been the fundamental to this research. The stimulant factors that being referred is the two cases indicate that both of the party needs to cooperate to combat against TOC; both party shared common aspiration and commitment on combating against TOC. The inhibitor factors that being referred is about death penalty still being used towards narcotics convict and difficulties to gather inteligence source for combating narcotics trafficking.

spread all over the country’s provinces. Those situations were realized by BNN as theprime government organization for Narcotic crime in Indonesia with the main source ofthis problems is China. So that, the Indonesia and Chinese Governments establishedMemorandum of Understanding (MoU) for eradication of illicit drug syndicates in 2012.The purpose of this research is to know the effectiveness of a relation between Indonesiaand China in eradicating illicit drugs syndicates. The research methodologies are withqualitative method, descriptive-analysis type of research, and the data collection ofinterview and literature review type. Since the MoU activated in 2012, a qualitativeanalysis of effectiveness did in purpose of testing the relations between Indonesia andChina based on three parameters, which are: communication intensity, result of eradication,and appreciation. Results from the analysis based on the parameters will prove that thecooperation between the nations are effective and can be refer to ‘Golden Triangle’. Thereason of this results are because there were an increasing number in disclosure of the caseand people arrest that affected to the reduction of the drugs users in 2014.

Armed robbery and piracy conducted by Somali pirates in the Horn ofAfrica region are international crime which threatens internationalpeace and security. These crimes have raised international concerns.In response to the threats, The United Nations Security Council issuedResolution No. 1851 that stressed the importance of the state,regional, and international organizations to actively fight piracy andarmed robbery. Responding to the resolution, the United Statesbecame one of the nations that response to these crimes; by issuingforeign policy that contains a variety of efforts in combating armedrobbery and piracy in the region. This research aims to determine therole of United States to overcome Somali armed robbery and piracy inthe Horn of Africa.This research uses theory of international crime, national insecurity,international actors, and foreign policy. This is analytical descriptiveresearch. Data collected by interview as well as related literatures.The result of this research shows that United States as direct centralactor lead the international actions to combat Somali armed robberyand piracy in the Horn of Africa Region by doing “smart powerâ€approach.

Arab Spring which was happened in 2011 had ceated nationwide protest movement of the Syrian people to throw the regime of the President Bashar Al Assad. The conflict that was, at first,only protest then turned into armed conflict where the government, opposition and terrorism groups such as ISIS and Jabhat Al Nusra involved. The number of the deaths caused by the conflict were then called by the UN as crime against humanity. The UN initiated Geneve Peace Talks as an agenda to hold a political transition towards Bashar Al Assad’s regime. The effort was rejected by Russia Federation. In 2013, the U.S. and its alliance deployed its miltary forces in Syria to suport opposition group while in 2015 Russia then responded to the U.S. action by deploying its military troops in order to support the regime of Bashar Al Assad. This research is aimed to explain the motives of why Russia involved in the Syrian armed conflict. The research used qualitative method and Offensive Realism Theory by John J. Mearsheimer. The result of this research is that the involvement of Russia was meant to exercise its geopolitical influence in the Middle East and to repress the expansion of U.S. influence in Syria.

The increasing rate of fish consumption in the world has made some countries flocking tofulfill their needs of fish. In the process of fulfilling their needs of fish, they are doingeverything they can, both legally and illegally, in these case through Illegal UnreportedUnregulated Fishing. The act of these IUU fishing has caused a lot of damage and losses tothe affected countries and also could ruin the ecosystem of the affected sea. Indonesia as acountry with plenty of fish resources has became an appealing target for these act. One of theneighbouring countries who has been caught doing these act was Vietnam. To reduce thefrequencies of these illegal act and lessen the damages and losses, Indonesia cooperated withVietnam by making a Memorandum of Understanding or MOU. These cooperation betweenIndonesia and Vietnam ended with a good result, thankfully. This research was done in orderunderstand the factors of the successful cooperation against IUU fishing between Indonesiaand Vietnam. In accordance to achieve the goal of these research and solve the problem thatoccured, it was done by using theory of international cooperation, analyzing the indicators ofsuccess of the cooperation, concept theory of foreign policy and theory of cooperation inliberalis-paradigm, These research was done in qualitatif method with descriptic-analythicalway through journal research and interview. Results of the study are the success ofIndonesia's cooperation with Vietnam in dealing with IUU fishing due to the proximity offactor, communications, law enforcement.
