Abstract

Phenomenon of the widespread use of slang has unwittingly brought a new social structure into the social order of society, including the life of the Balinese people, where the Balinese already have their own social structure that regulates the social order of their society. This research was conducted to find out the various factors that encourage the entry of slang into the Balinese youth environment, and what impact this slang phenomenon has on social life and Balinese society. The theory used in this study is the theory of Structuralism from Levi-Strauss. The impact generated by the new social structure can produce negative or positive impacts according to the views of each individual, but a deep understanding of the causes and effects of the resulting impacts will be more open-minded about the use of the old structure or the new structure in carrying out the social order of Balinese society. Abstract

ABSTRACT This research examines the perception of contemporary Balinese Hindu women in viewing the obligation of ngayah in the Belega Traditional Village, Gianyar. The research method used is qualitative descriptive exploratory type. The theory is the structuration theory by Anthony Giddens. This theory explains that actors and structures have an inseparable duality relationship. Through the analysis carried out, positive perceptions of Balinese Hindu women emerged, followed by discursive awareness related to ngayah as a form of sincere yadnya. Practical awareness resulted in the emergence of negative perceptions related to ngayah as pressure from the traditional village structure. The type of women's public sector work affects their availability of time to sleep. The duality relationship that Giddens reveals between actors and structures is illustrated through the lives of Balinese Hindu women which cannot be separated from the traditional village structure that influences the perception of contemporary Balinese Hindu women in viewing ngayah. This research analyzes and explains the role of the Religious Harmony Forum (FKUB) in maintaining social solidarity among religious believers in Denpasar City. The approach used is qualitative with descriptive types and analysis using Emile Durkheim's theory of social solidarity.
