Abstract

Copper (Cu) heavy metal is produced from electroplating industry in its liquid waste. Eggshell has 7.000-17.000 pores and CaCO3 that can be used as an adsorbent for adsorbing Cu. The purpose of this research was to analyze the differences of Cu levels between the liquid waste which was not given and which was given with broiler’s eggshell powder thermal activated at 600 0C in concentration of 20 g/l, 25 g/l, and 30 g/l at 90 minutes contact duration. Type of this re-search was a true experiment. The data were analyzed by using One Way Anova test at ? = 0,05. The results show significant differences of Cu levels between control and treatment groups (p-value<0,001). Broiler’s eggshell powder with 30 gr/l concentration gives the highest reduction of the Cu level, i.e.as much as 69,23 %. Broiler’s eggshell powder can be used as Cu adsorbent, but further research is needed to control the other variables, namely: adsorbate concentration, surface tension, and stirring time, in order to obtain the optimum adsorption conditions.

Abstract

Amalgamation in the activities of gold processing produces liquid waste containing heavy metals mercury (Hg). Pistia stratiotes is a floating plant that has high adaptability to climate, rapidgrowth rate, and huge nutrients and water absorption.So that, it is possible to be used as phytoremediation plant for absorbing Hg in water. The purpose of this true experiment research wasto analyze the Hg concentration differences between waste water with and without Pistia stratiotes of 300 gr/ 6 l, 400 gr/ 6 l and 500 gr/ 6 weight in 10 days contact time. The data were analyzed by using One Way Anova test at ? = 0,05. The results showed significant differences ofHg levels between control and treatment groups (p<0,05), and 500 gr/6 l Pistia stratiotes weightgave the highest reduction of Hg level in liquid waste, i.e. 77,6 %. It can be concluded that Pistia stratiotes can be used as phytoremediation plant for Hg metal. However, it is necessary todo further research by adding contact times as variable, so that the absorption rate at each timecan be determined.

Abstract

Global warming is a global issue. Eco campus or green campus is the concepts to resolve the environmental problems. The aim of this research is to analyze how eco is your campus observed from knowledge and students’ perception on environmental sustainability education. The methods of this research are cross sectional study and analytic observational. The total of respondents is 160 students who randomly chosen. Respondents have interviewed about their perspectives on environmental sustainability education especially the eco campus concept. The result of this research showed that 134 respondents (83,75%) had known about the information of the eco campus. There were 77 respondents (48,1%) have the negative attitude, 43 respondents (26.9%) have the positive attitude and 40 respondents (25%) have the neutral attitude about the eco campus. The data showed that 91 respondents have poor behavior toward eco campus concepts (56,9%), 65 respondents good enough (40,6%) and 4 respondents have very good behavior (2,5%). The development of sustainable environment should be educated continuously to the higher students to meet the eco campus sustainability to reduce the global warming.

Abstract

Environmentalism is the understanding and attitude to preserve the environment that should be owned by all Muslims because it is part of the teachings of religion. Environmental sustainability can be achieved with the behavior of people who paid attention to the environment well. The results of this study indicated that many respondents who didn’t know the verses of environmental sustainability so that it has not motivated them to act to preserve sustainability. Need synergy of government and society in introducing the verses of environmental sustainability through formal education-informal so that can be given motivation of society to behave to preserve environment.

Abstract

Berkumpulnya masyarakat di tempat wisata menjadikan pergerakan yang berisiko tinggi penularan COVID-19. Hal yang menjadi prioritas berwisata yaitu kebutuhan fisiologis, keamanan, kebersihan dan kesehatan. Penerapaan higiene dan sanitasi tempat-tempat umum merupakan pencegahan utama yang dapat di lakukan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengkaji terkait gambaran higiene sanitasi kesehatan lingkungan pada masa pandemi COVID-19 di Tempat Wisata Exotic Mengare. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif. Sampel penelitian ini yaitu 30 karyawan, 13 wisatawan dan 1 sampel air. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket untuk parameter hygiene personal wisatawan dan karyawan, observasi untuk parameter sanitasi tempat wisata, uji laboratorium untuk parameter bakteri total Colifrom dan dokumentasi untuk pengumpulan data berupa jumlah karyawan dan wisatawan, petawisata, dan pendukung penelitian lainya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hygiene personal karyawan dan wisatawan memiliki kategori kurang pada perilaku mencuci tangan dan physical distancing, kategori cukup pada variabel pemeriksaan suhu tubuh dan APD, kategori baik pada variabel kebersihan tubuh. Hygiene personal terkait variabel disinfektan memiliki kategori kurang pada karyawan sedangkan wisatawan memiliki kategori baik. Sebagian besar kondisi sanitasi di Tempat Wisata Exotic Mengare tidak memenuhi syarat yaitu pada variabel fasilitas cuci tangan, sarana physical distancing, fasilitas toilet, SPAL, keberadaan vektor/rodent, sarana promosi kesehatan, fasilitas kesehatan dan disinfektan. Air bersih tidak memenuhi syarat baku mutu kandungan bakteri total Colifrom yaitu 58/100 ml. Tempat Wisata Exotic Mengare belum memenuhi syarat higiene sanitasi di tempat-tempat umum pada masa pandemi COVID-19 sesuai dengan Peraturan Kemenkes RI Nomor Hk.01.07/Menkes/382/2020 tentang Protokol Kesehatan Bagi Masyarakat di Tempat dan Fasilitas Umum dalam Rangka Pencegahan dan PengendalianCOVID-19.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia is experiencing a double burden of nutrition because at this time there are still malnutrition problems, one of which is stunting and also over nutrition problems, namely obesity in children. Objective: The purpose of this community service activity is to increase the knowledge of parents/guardians of TK/KB Lasiyam Surabaya students about "Actions to Prevent Stunting and Obesity in Children". Method: Online education with webinar format targeting parents of TK/KB Lasiyam students, Surabaya. Then at the end of the activity, participants were given a post test questionnaire to find out the results of understanding the material "Joint action to prevent stunting and obesity in children". Results: The majority of participants are aged 25-35 years with a diploma/bachelor degree and working as private employees. 78% of participants in this webinar-based education have a good level of knowledge after attending the webinar. Conclusion: Parents of TK/KB Lasiyam Surabaya students have a good level of knowledge so it is hoped that stunting and obesity can be suppressed, one of which is through early childhood education institutions.

Abstract

Pandemic covid19 should be handled together between government and community. The government programs will not be optimal without supporting the community. The problems were the gap in information and education about covid19, especially how to prevent the covid19, vaccine, health protocols, and how to make and use eco hand sanitizer. The aim of the community service was to give the education and covid19 cadres of the neighborhood association. The method of the community service was education intervention, counseling, and training about covid19, vaccine, health protocols (mask using, physical distancing, washing the hands, social distancing, reducing mobility), and making and using the eco hand sanitizer. Pre-test and post-test were conducted to evaluate these community service programs. The result showed that there was an increase in knowledge about the covid19, vaccine 25,6%; implemented the health protocols (19,1%). The media that using for education, counseling, and training were acceptable (65,2%). The community, especially cadres were active in joint the whole activity such as the installation of educational banners in various locations and corners of the village, as well as in the distribution of masks and the manufacture of hand sanitizer. The obstacle in this activity is adjusting the training time for cadres and the community because they still have to work.

Abstract

Background: Red betel (Piper ornatum) contains several compounds including flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, and essential oils that have the ability as bioinsecticides. The purpose of this study was to analyze the differences in the number of deaths of house fly larvae (Musca domestica) exposed to red betel in the control group (0%) and the treatment group with a concentration of 1%; 1.5% and 2% for 24 hours. Methods: used is true experimental method with only posttes control group design. There were 4 treatments with 6 replications per treatment. Each treatment was described on 8 larvae, so the number of larvae used in this study was 192 tails. Results: Research shows that red betel powder is indeed effective in killing Musca domestica larvae, but it still requires a long time, which is at least 24 hours. Concentration is needed at least 2% if used as a biopesticide to reduce the density of flies. Conclusion: There was no significant difference in the mortality of Musca domestica larvae in the administration of red betel powder (Piper ornatum.

Abstract

AbstrakKualitas garam sangat ditentukan oleh perlakuan dan penanganan yang diberikan pada saat pra produksi, proses produksi maupun pasca produksi. Kontaminan Pb dalam garam dapat bersumber dari lingkungan perairan laut sebagai bahan baku, tanah sebagai media / tempat produksi garam dan lingkungan udara dimana proses produksi garam berlangsung di lahan terbuka. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis kadar logam berat timbal (Pb) dalam garam di Kabupaten Pamekasan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah jenis deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian melalui observasi dan wawancara. Hasil observasi menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata kadar logam berat timbal (Pb) di Kabupaten Pamekasan masih di bawah batas maksimum yang telah ditentukan dalam SNI 3556-2010 dan SNI 7387-2009 yaitu <10 ppm dengan kadar Pb terendah 0,066 ppm dan tertinggi 0,162 ppm. Proses produksi garam kurang sesuai dengan standar yang telah ditetapkan. Oleh karena itu, perlunya penangangan yang baik pada pra produksi, proses produksi hingga pasca produksi pembuatan garam agar kadar Pb tidak meningkat.AbstractThe quality of salt is very determined by the treatment and handling given during the pre-production, production and post-production processes. Pb contamination in salt can be sourced from the marine environment as raw material in the process of making salt, the soil environment as a medium / place of salt production and the air environment where the salt production process takes place in an open area. The aim of research was to analyze levels of lead heavy metals (Pb) of salt in Pamekasan Regency. This research is a descriptive analysis. The techniques of data collecting of this research are observation and interview. Observations indicate that the average level of heavy metal lead (Pb) in Pamekasan regency is still below the maximum limit specified in SNI 3556-2010 and SNI 7387-2009 is <10 ppm which is the lowest grade of 0.066 ppm and grade the highest is 0.162 ppm. The salt production process is not in accordance with established standards The Therefore, the need for good handling in pre-production, production processes to post-production of salt production so that Pb levels do not increase.
