Abstract

AbstractBackground: Cardamom has been studied and proven to be effective as an antibacterial. Gel preparations are preferred because they have advantages such as being easy to apply, providing a cooling effect, and being able to deliver drugs well.Objective: The purpose of this study was to make a gel formulation of ethanolic cardamom fruit extract by optimizing the combination of the gelling agent of HPMC and sodium alginate using the simplex lattice design (SLD).Methods: Cardamom fruit extract was obtained by extracting cardamom fruit simplicia using 70% ethanol. The formulation of the gel preparation from cardamom fruit extract was optimized using the SLD method on Design Expert. There were 5 gel formulas made and evaluated including organoleptic, pH, viscosity, spreadability, and adhesion. The independent variables in SLD were the amount of HMC and sodium alginate, while the responses included viscosity, spreadability, and adhesion. Optimal formula selection is done by using a numerical approach.Results: FI (HPMC 3.75% and sodium alginate 2.75%) and FII (HPMC 3.50% and sodium alginate 3.00%) met the test criteria for all the tests performed. The optimal formula suggested by SLD is a combination of 3.53% HPMC and 2.98% sodium alginate with a desirability value of 1.00. The predicted value for each response was the viscosity of 214.83 dPa.s, dispersion of 5.38 cm, and adhesion of 50.08 seconds. The optimal formula showed a dispersion value of 5.37cm. The results of the t-test indicated that the dispersion value of the observed results is not significantly different from the prediction software.Conclusion: Based on this research, it can be concluded that the use of a combination of HPMC and sodium alginate as a gelling agent can be optimized by using a simplex lattice design to obtain the optimum formula for cardamom fruit extract gel.Keywords: gel, hpmc, sodium alginate, SLD, kapulaga IntisariLatar Belakang: Kapulaga telah diteliti dan terbukti dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai antibakteri. Sediaan gel disukai karena memiliki keunggulan antara lain mudah merata bila dioleskan, memberikan efek dingin serta dapat menghantarkan obat dengan baik.Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat formulasi sediaan gel ekstrak buah kapulaga dengan mengoptimasi penggunaan kombinasi gelling agent HPMC dan natrium alginat menggunakan metode Simplex Lattice Design (SLD). Metode: Ekstrak buah kapulaga diperoleh dengan mengekstraksi simplisia buah kapulaga menggunakan etanol 70%. Formulasi sediaan gel dari ekstrak buah kapulaga dioptimasi menggunakan metode SLD pada Design Expert. Terdapat 5 formula gel yang dibuat dan dievaluasi meliputi organoleptis, pH, viskositas, daya sebar, dan daya lekat. Variabel bebas pada SLD adalah jumlah HMC dan natrium alginat, sedangkan responnya meliputi viskositas, daya sebar, dan daya lekat. Pemilihan formula optimum dilakukan menggunakan pendekatan numerical.  Hasil: FI (HPMC 3,75% dan natrium alginat 2,75%) dan FII (HPMC 3,50% dan natrium alginat 3,00%) memenuhi kriteria uji semua pengujian yang dilakukan. Formula optimal yang disarankan SLD adalah kombinasi HPMC 3,53% dan natrium alginat 2,98% memiliki desirability 1,00 dengan prediksi viskositas bernilai 214,83 dPa.s, daya sebar bernilai 5,38 cm, dan daya lekat 50,08 detik. Pengujian terhadap formula optimal hasil optimasi SLD menunjukkan nilai daya sebar 5,37cm sesuai dengan nilai respon pada SLD. Hasil uji-t menunjukkan nilai daya sebar hasil observasi tidak berbeda signifikan dibandingkan dengan prediksi software.Kesimpulan: Berdasarkan penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan variasi HPMC dan natrium alginat sebagai gelling agent dalam formula gel ekstrak buah kapulaga dapat dioptimasi menggunakan simplex lattice design.Kata kunci : gel, hpmc, natrium alginat, SLD, kapulaga

Abstract

Diabetes melitus (DM) tipe II adalah suatu penyakit yang disebabkan oleh resistensi insulin dan merupakan diabetes melitus yang paling banyak di Indonesia. Penggunaanobat DM menyebabkan terjadinya adverse drug reaction (ADR) sehingga perludilakukan pemantauan penggunaan obat melalui evaluasi farmakovigilans. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui persentase karakteristik subyek penelitian dan persentase  kejadian ADR pada pasien rawat jalan diabetes melitus tipe II di RSUD Bendan Kota Pekalongan. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara deskriptif observasional dengan pengambilan data secara prospektif. Subyek penelitian adalah pasien rawat jalan DM Tipe II di RSUD Bendan Kota Pekalongan yang mendapatkan obat antidiabetes oral tunggal maupun kombinasi. Pengumpulan data melalui formulir efek samping obat, algoritma naranjo, dan lembar resep pasien. Data yang telah diambil dianalisa secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian diperoleh sebanyak 64 pasien yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi, dan diketahui hanya 26 pasien yang mengalami ADR. Data yang dikumpulkan dinilai kausalitasnya dengan menggunakan algoritma naranjo dan dihitung skor probabilitas ADR yang terjadi. Penelitian ini berhasil mengevaluasi farmakovigilans dengan subyek yang paling banyak menderita DM tipe II yaitu pada usia 51-60 tahun sebesar 48,4% dan paling banyak berjenis kelamin perempan sebesar 65,6%. Berdasarkan penilaian kausalitas dengan menggunakan algoritma naranjo persentase kejadian ADR pada pasien rawat jalan DM tipe II di RSUD Bendan Kota Pekalongan adalah 12,5% termasuk dalam kategori besar kemungkinan dan 28,1% mungkin.

Abstract

Orthosiphon spicatus B.B.S. traditionally used as anti-inflammatory. This study was aimed to find out anti-inflammatory effect of Orthosiphon spicatus B.B.S. herb infusa in white male rats. The rats were randomly devided into 5 groups. A negative control group treated with distilled water. A positive control group treated with Na diclofenac. The third group treated with Orthosiphon spicatus B.B.S. herb infusa 5%. The fourth group treated with Orthosiphon spicatus B.B.S. herb infusa 10%, and the fifth group treated with Orthosiphon spicatus B.B.S. herb infusa 20%. The edema volume was measured starting early after treatment was given every half hour for six hours. Area under curve (AUC) values were analyzed by one way ANOVA and LSD test. The data result indicate Orthosiphon spicatus B.B.S. in different concentrations significantly different to the negative control. It can be conclude that Orthosiphon spicatus B.B.S. herb infusa have anti-inflammatory effects.

Abstract

Rhodamine B is prohibited additive used on foods. If these compound into the body, can lead  to  damage  to  the  liver,  kidney,  spleen  and  anatomical  changes  in  organs.  However,  this compound is found in many foods that are red as chili sauce. To protect the public from abuse of  these  compounds,  the  study  of  Rhodamine  B  in  chili  sauce  sold  in  the  traditional  market needs to be done. This research is descriptive qualitative. The location was used in this study is mains three traditional markets in the city of Pekalongan with a total of samples chilli sauce is eight.  Rhodamine  B  in  chili  sauce  detected  by  linking  the  coumpoud  on  the  wool  yarn,  then washed  with    water  flowing.  Chili  sause  samples  tasted  positive  for  Rhodamine  B,  if  the analyte bound to the wool yarn can not be leached by water flowing. The result of this research was eight samples of the chili sauce does not contain dye Rhodamine B. As evidenced by the color of analyte Rhodamine B on wool yarn can be washed by water.

Abstract

Peel off mask are cosmetic that use for facial skincare. Piper betle L. leaf has the properties to kill Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria that cause acne. Peel off mask is a gel drug delivery system which requires gelling agent material. HPMC is one of the gelling agent that preferred properties. This study aims to examine the physical properties of Piper betle L. leaf peel off mask with HPMC as g gelling agent. The active substance used is Piper betle L. leaf extract that using maseration method. To determine the effect of using HPMC variation on physical properties it is carried out by organoleptic testing, viscosity, adhesion, dispersion, homogeneity, pH and irritation. The result of this study showed that the variation of HPMC had effect on organoleptic, viscosity, adhesion, dispersion and rate of drying and has no effect on homogeneity, pH, and irritation. Keyword : Piper beatle leaf, peel off mask, HPMC

Abstract

Timbal (Pb) merupakan jenis logam berat yang bersifat toksik, yang ketika masuk ke dalam tubuh akan terikat dengan protein sehingga hanya sedikit yang diekskresikan (Sudarwin, 2008). Ikan lele merupakan jenis ikan tawar yang banyak dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat. Selain kandungan gizinya yang  baik,  harga  ikan  lele  juga  terjangkau. Analisis logam  berat  Pb pada ikan  lele  yang dibudidayakan  di  Kota  Pekalongan  diharapkan  mampu  menjamin  hasil  budidaya  ikan  lele  yang akan  dikonsumsi  oleh  masyarakat  bebas  dari  kandungan  logam  berat  yang  berbahaya,  sehingga aman  dikonsumsi  dan  menyehatkan.  Sampel  logam  berat  Pb  diambil  dari  empat  wilayah pembudidayaan  di  Kota  Pekalongan,  yakni  Tirto,  Dekoro,  Jenggot,  dan  Panjang.  Kandungan logam  berat  Pb  dianalisis  dengan  menggunakan  metode  spektrofotometer  serapan    atom (AAS). Hasil analisis menunjukkan tiap sampel ikan lele hasil budidaya empat lokasi di Kota Pekalongan memiliki  kandungan  logam  berat  timbal  (Pb)  pada    rentang  8,3 – 39,45  μg/kg  bb.  Kadar  logam berat  Pb  hasil  analisis  tiap  sampel  masih  berada  di  bawah  ambang  batas  maksimal  kandungan logam berat Pb. Kata kunci: ikan lele, Pb, pekalongan

Abstract

Background. Treatment with natural substances have side effect that are quite small compare to chemicals. Papaya leaves contain flavonoids that have analgesic effect. Flavonoid inhibits the production of prostaglandins. This study was conducted toformulate a papaya leave extract into Self-Nanoemulsifying Drug Delivery System (SNEDDS) technique. Method. Papaya leaves extract SNEDDS made with Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) as oil, tween 80 as surfactant, and PEG 400 as cosurfactant. The nanoemulsion tested clarity, transmittance, emulsification time and stability. Result. Papaya leaves extract SNEDDS can be produced with VCO as oil and surfactantcosurfactan in 1:9. Keyword: papaya leaves extract, snedds, virgin coconut oil

Abstract

Lotion merupakan sediaan emulsi yang kandungan airnya lebih banyak dibandingkan minyak. Setil alkohol digunakan dalam sediaan hand and body lotion sebagai stiffening agent yang mampu meningkatkan sifat dan stabilitas fisik dari sediaan. Ekstrak etanol daun sambiloto mengadung flavonoid yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai antioksidan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menentukan konsentrasi setil alkohol yang menghasilkan formula terbaik serta mengetahui pengaruh perbendaan konsentrasi setil alkohol terhadap sifat dan stabilitas fisik sediaan. Penelitian mengunakan metode eksperimental. Konsentrasi setil alkohol yang dalam formula yaitu, FI (2%), FII (3%), dan FIII (4%). Ekstrak daun sambiloto yang digunakan dalam formula sebesar 0,5%. Sediaan diuji sifat fisik meliputi organoleptis, homogenitas, iritasi, dan stabilitasnya. Hasil pengujian berupa viskositas, daya lekat, daya sebar, dan pH dianalisis dengan SPSS 23. Formulasi terbaik dipilih berdasarkan kriteria sifat dan stabilitas fisik sediaan. Formula dengan kandungan setil alkohol sebesar 2% (FI) menunjukkan hasil yang terbaik, karena hasil pengujian menunjukkan hasil yang sesuai dengan kriteria sifat fisik. FI juga menunjukkan nilai stabilitas yang paling lama dibandingkan 3% (FII) dan 4% (FIII). Analisis data dengan One Way Annova menunjukkan adanya pengaruh penggunaan yang berbeda dari setil alkohol terhadap viskositas, daya lekat, daya sebar, dan pH sediaan. Hal tersebut ditunjukkan dengan nilai signifikansi < 0,05.

Abstract

Corona virus or severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is a virus that attacks the respiratory system. The disease due to this infection is called COVID-19. Corona virus can cause respiratory system disorders, acute pneumonia, and death. Prevention of coronavirus can be started from ourself. One of the things that can we do is to know the current information about the Covid-19 pandemic on the WHO website and through public health authorities. WHO advises all of us to avoid novel Covid-19 virus infection by maintaining our health and protecting others.One of them is by doing hand washing using a handsanitizer. These handsanitizers are a new habit and need to be done consistently. In order to prevent the maximum transmission, we must use a handsanitizer appropriately. It is intended that the worship process at the mosque can continue and also to prevent the transmission of Covid-19. This method of community service is the manufacture and distribution of handsanitizer and education of the use of a good and correct handsanitizer to the residents around the mosque. The Community Service Activities Program carried out can provide benefits to the community in the knowledge of using Handsanitizer correctly in preventing the transmission of novelcorona virus (Covid-19). Keyword : Covid-19, Handsanitizer, prevention

Abstract

Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) have a very high risk of being infected with Covid-19. NCD’s control has actually been carried out through the activities of the Posbindu, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic with restrictive rules, the Posbindu could not be implemented. This service aims to educate health cadres and increase public awareness in controlling NCD’s. The activity was attended by 10 participants who are health cadres. The focus of this service activity is on promotive and preventive through education about CERDIK and PATUH behavior to prevent NCD’s in the Covid-19 pandemic era. The result of this service is that health cadres have understood the material presented. Health cadres want further activities to be carried out regarding the simulation of Posbindu activities in the Covid-19 pandemic era. Through this activity, it is hoped that it can awaken the role of health cadres to be able to socialize the public about CERDIK and PATUH behavior so that prevention and control of NCD’s can still be carried out. Keyword : Education, Non Communicable Disease
