Abstract

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to produce a PBL-based E-Module and to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the PBL-based E-Module in empowering students' problem-solving skills. This study used a research and development design and approach with the ADDIE model (analyze, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). Data collection methods used interviews, observation, questionnaires/surveys, documentation, and tests. Data analysis techniques focused on the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the new product, using descriptive, evaluative, and experimental methods, with the main instruments being expert validation questionnaires (media, materials, practitioners) and user response questionnaires (students/test subjects) analyzed using a Likert scale and percentages to assess product feasibility, as well as qualitative data for improvement. The results showed that the PBL-based E-Module had been successfully developed. The PBL-based E-Module is valid and feasible to use with overall validation results from media experts in the “Very Good” qualification with an average score of 96% and “Feasible to use in the field without revision” while the overall validation results from material experts in the “Very Good” qualification with an overall average of 97.4% and “Feasible to use in the field without revision”. The PBL-based e-module is practical to use, with overall practicality test results from education practitioners qualifying as “Very Good” with an average score of 97.95% and “Suitable for field testing without revision.” Meanwhile, the practicality test results from a user group of 36 students obtained an average total score of 93.03% and were rated “Very Good” and “Suitable Without Revision”. The use of PBL-based E-Module teaching media is very effective in empowering students' problem-solving skills compared to the use of PowerPoint teaching media, based on the ANCOVA test results, which obtained a Sig. value of <0.001 (< 0.05). Abstract

This study aims to examine the existence of Kotagede's traditional foods as part of Yogyakarta's culinary heritage and their role in preserving local cultural identity amid the tide of modernization. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach through field observations, in-depth interviews with culinary business actors, and a literature review related to gastronomy and culture. The results of the study show that Kotagede's traditional foods, such as kipo, legomoro, and geplak, not only have economic value as culinary products, but also carry historical and symbolic values that reflect the local wisdom of the community. The existence of these culinary traditions is increasingly preserved through the role of the community, support from the local government, and promotion through cultural tourism. However, challenges remain in the form of changing tastes among the younger generation, competition from modern foods, and limited regeneration of traditional culinary producers. Thus, the preservation of Kotagede's traditional foods requires a collaborative strategy between the community, business actors, and the government to ensure that this culinary heritage remains relevant and sustainable.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the shift of the sambatan tradition toward commercialization in Giriwungu Village, Panggang Subdistrict, Gunungkidul Regency, to identify the factors influencing this transformation, and to analyze its implications for character education of mutual cooperation in the community, particularly among the younger generation. The sambatan tradition, as a form of mutual cooperation in Javanese society, was originally based on values of togetherness, social solidarity, and voluntary work without financial compensation. However, along with social changes and modernization, this tradition has undergone a transformation marked by the emergence of wage-based labor systems and the decline of community participation in collective activities. This research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The informants consisted of community leaders, local residents, and youth in Giriwungu Village. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that there has been a significant shift in the sambatan tradition from a mutual cooperation system to a more commercialized practice. Several factors contribute to this transformation, including economic pressures and increasing living demands, the influence of globalization and the rise of individualistic values, the lack of generational regeneration of traditional sambatan actors, and changes in social structure and community mobility. Furthermore, technological advancements and modern work systems have accelerated this shift. The shift of this tradition also has implications for the weakening of mutual cooperation character education, social solidarity, and locally rooted social care among community members. Nevertheless, the sambatan tradition has not completely disappeared but has instead adapted to contemporary social conditions, and still holds significant potential as a medium for character education based on local wisdom. In conclusion, the shift of the sambatan tradition toward commercialization is a complex social phenomenon influenced by multiple interrelated factors. Therefore, adaptive and collaborative preservation efforts involving the government, community, educational institutions, and the younger generation are necessary to maintain the core values of sambatan as part of local cultural identity and as a foundation of character education.
