Mesin-mesin Turing adalah suatu jenis abstraksi dari komputasi dan merupakan pemodelan yang sangat sederhana dari komputer. Mesin Turing sebagai model komputasi teoritis berfungsi sebagai model ideal untuk melakukan ilustrasi perhitungan/komputasi matematis. Meskipun model ideal ini diperkenalkan sebelum komputer nyata dibangun, model ini tetap diterima kalangan ilmu komputer sebagai model komputer yang sesuai untuk menentukan apakah suatu fungsi dapat diselesaikan oleh komputer atau tidak (menentukan computable function). Universalitas komputasi adalah kemampuan dari sebuah mesin atau program untuk menghitung iterasi dari mesin atau program lain. Oleh karena bukti yang ada dari universalitas komputasi hanya berkaitan dengan Mesin Turing yang asli, maka pembuktian universalitas komputasional bagi programprogram yang lain dapat dilaksanakan melalui emulasi. Emulasi berarti bahwa serangkaian iterasi dalam suatu program akan menghasilkan suatu representasi yang setara (equivalent) dengan setiap langkah komputasi dari program yang ditiru. Pada artikel ini akan dipaparkan secara singkat pengemulasian sebuah Celullar Automata terhadap Mesin Turing. Celullar Automata adalah sebuah model komputasi terdesentralisasi yang menyediakan sebuah platform yang mangkus bagi pelaksanaan suatu komputasi yang lebih komplek.

This article aims at arguing for the importance of the testing step when designing an educational application by taking a case study from the development of adaptive learning media. The media contains a set of in-struments that are specifically built to empower students' critical thinking skills. Three aspects that are con-sidered in testing this educational application are application validity at each stage of system development, measurement of the final system feasibility test for user needs, and system implementation by running learning media on the test sample. Implementation of testing on application products is carried out accord-ing to system requirements and models. The existence of the characteristics of adaptive media and the diver-sity of menus in the application implies the importance of doing a lot of improvisation when carrying out tests, such as determining the right test cases, choosing the appropriate test model and method, determining a suitable test environment, and considering several other aspects aimed at optimizing test results. obtained in order to ensure the quality of learning media products. This study analyzed the test data using Likert scale as an interpretation of the results of the validation assessment from the experts by referring to certain perceived standards of assessment. Meanwhile, the analysis of the data from the feasibility test results from a sample of 20 students using the system usability scale (SUS) instrument. The technique to test the effec-tiveness was using a pretest-posttest control group design with a sample of 98 students. Parametric/non-parametric data analysis was then applied to analyze the data on the results of testing the effectiveness or efficacy of adaptive media products in improving students' higher order thinking skills (HOTS). Based on the testing steps applied to the application of adaptive learning media, the results obtained that the product was considered feasible and effective in empowering students' HOTS. The study concludes that the educa-tional application testing that has been carried out is able to provide an objective and independent view of the application of adaptive learning media which will be useful in operational functions to understand the level of effectiveness in its implementation before being widely used in learning.

Critical thinking is important in education because it encourages students to gain a more complex understanding of information. High critical thinking skills will lead students to find and conclude their own understanding, and will facilitate convenience in the world of work. This study aims to test a hybrid learning model concept in empowering students' critical thinking skills. Hybrid learning extracts advantages from elements of learning styles, online learning, and open-ended learning. The research method uses quantitative research procedures. The test results show that the hybrid learning model has the potential to significantly empower students' critical thinking skills compared to the conventional model.

The Critical thinking is important in education because it encourages students to gain an understanding of more complex information. High critical thinking skills will lead students to find and conclude their understanding. The prolonged COVID-19 pandemic has made global changes in the implementation of learning. Until now, the learning process is still directed at the online learning model with the help of various Learning Management System (LMS) platforms. Conditions like this have implications for the decline in students' critical thinking skills in various aspects, such as inference, interpretation, explanation, analysis, evaluation, and self-regulation. This study aims at proposing an alternative learning approach, namely the enhanced-open learning model which is used to empower and improve students' critical thinking skills. This learning model was developed using the Research and Development (R&D) method and implemented with an adaptive hypermedia learning application media designed with the Luther development model. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling on 98 students of informatics education in Surakarta City. The data were analyzed with the prerequisites for normality and homogeneity of the data before the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and Mann Whitney U test was carried out to determine the effectiveness of the model. The results of the increase in the gain score obtained from the experiment are in the aspect of interpretation of 93.18%, inference 76.74%, explanation 96.33%, analysis 97, 87%, evaluation 63.01%, and self-regulation 98.13%. Based on the experiments conducted, it is proven that the adaptive open learning approach has a very significant impact on improving students' critical thinking aspects so that it can be concluded that the model is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills.

This community service activity aims at providing motivation, knowledge, and skills/expertise in computer and information technology to improve the skills and competencies of village officials in serving the community. The participants are village officials in Saren Village, Kalijambe, Sragen, Central Java. This service activity includes several methods, namely lectures, demonstrations, exercises, and questions and answers. The lecture method activates the spirit to increase the learning motivation of the participants as well as to explain the concept of computer technology. The demonstration method demonstrates a work and learning process, namely the stages of operating a computer application. Meanwhile, the practice method practices how to assemble and run some of the applications learned. The question-and-answer provides for consulting the obstacles that arise during the training and learning process. Finally, the conclusion is all of the training participants were very enthusiastic about the computer application training activities which were held with indications that the participants (village officers) after the training ended were able to understand all the material presented and practice it well. One obstacle that arises during activity is limited computer equipment leads to the implementation of training activities not being able to run optimally.

Layanan reservasi merupakan sebuah proses penyajian kembali informasi dari konten yang terkandung dalam suatu basis data reservasi. Permasalah umum dalam kajian proses reservasi hotel adalah bagaimana cara menyajikan dan menyediakan informasi reservasi yang sesuai dan memadai bagi calon tamu atau pelanggan hotel. Pada penelitian ini dirancang dan dikembangkan sebuah purwarupa sistem reservasi hotel yang mengimplementasikan metode model keruangan vektor (Vector Space Model, VSM) dengan antarmuka bahasa Indonesia sehari-hari. Hasil query dari sistem adalah luaran informasi mengenai segala hal yang terkait dengan reservasi hotel. Data penelitian adalah berupa kumpulan pertanyaan yang sering ditanyakan oleh pelanggan hotel pada saat melakukan proses reservasi, yang mana diperoleh dari sejumlah hotel di Solo Raya dan sekitarnya. Kemampuan dan performa sistem sangat bergantung pada disain algoritma temukembali, kekayaan perbendaharaan kalimat, dan kelengkapan data yang dimiliki oleh basis datanya serta dengan menggunakan indikator pengujian Recall dan Precission, dimana berturut-turut diperoleh 83,79% dan 85,89%. Adanya aplikasi tanya-jawab reservasi hotel ini diharapkan menjadi sebuah alat bantu alternatif dalam penyediaan layanan reservasi yang lebih luwes bagi pelanggan hotel .

Selama ini beberapa dosen mengajarkan materi kuliah dengan slidepower-point, metode ceramah, diskusi, penugasan, dan jarang sekalimenggunakan media aplikasi pembelajaran dalam pelaksanaanperkuliahan yang disebabkan karena terbatasnya ketersediaan mediaaplikasi perkuliahan. Hal ini telah mengakibatkan kesulitanmahasiswa dalam memahami konsep-konsep mata kuliah yangbersifat abstraktif dan formulatif. Selain itu, sistem multimedia yangada sekarang ini pun umumnya memberikan presentasi materipembelajaran yang sama untuk setiap pengguna karenamengasumsikan bahwa karakteristik semua pengguna adalahhomogen. Fenomena yang ada justru menunjukkan bahwa setiappeserta didik mempunyai cara yag berbeda-beda dalam memahamipengetahuan yang baru baginya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untukmengidentifikasi dan menginvestigasi gaya belajar mahasiswa yangsedang menuntut ilmu di Fakultas Komunikasi dan Informatika.Kuesioner Visual-Auditory-Read/Write-Kinesthetic (VARK) versi 7.1diterapkan sebagai instrumen penelitian bagi responden lebih dari230 mahasiswa sebagai sampel. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan denganmetode Research and Development (R&D) untuk menciptakansebuah aplikasi berbasis web yang berguna dalam penentuan gayabelajar yang para mahasiswa. Kinerja sistem diuji denganmenggunakan uji validitas alpha-beta pada setiap modul sistem.Sementara itu, metode survei digunakan untuk menilai kelayakandesain aplikasi. Berdasarkan serangkaian pengamatan, tes, dananalisis dapat disimpulkan bahwa mahasiswa Informatika sebagianbesar memiliki gaya belajar kinestetik, sementara itu mahasiswaKomunikasi bergaya belajar auditory. Kecenderungan gaya belajarini tidak banyak dipengaruhi oleh jenis kelamin, baik padamahasiswa Informatika atau pun Komunikasi. Kajian dalampenelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa para peserta didik tidaklahmempunyai cara yang sama dalam mempelajari sesuatu sehinggahasil kajian yang diperoleh menyarankan agar para pendidik haruspeduli terhadap preferensi cara belajar peserta didik melaluipenyesuaian strategi pengajaran dan penyediaan mediapembelajaran yang tepat yang mana disesuaikan dengan karakterbelajar para peserta didik.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan hypermedia pembelajaran adaptif yang mampu mengidentifikasi gaya belajar mahasiswa. Adaptifitas media menggunakan pendekatan gaya belajar visual, auditory, read/write, dan kinestetik (VARK). Hasil identifikasi akan memberikan rekomendasi bentuk materi yang dibutuhkan sesuai dengan gaya belajar mahasiswa sehingga dapat mempermudah dalam memahami materi kuliah Komunikasi Data dalam rangka memberdayakan kemampuan berpikir kritis. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan mixed method design dengan menggabungkan prosedur penelitian kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Tahapan penelitian meliputi: 1) tahap studi pendahuluan dengan menerapkan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif; 2) tahap desain dilaksanakan dengan melakukan rancang-bangun hypermedia adaptif dilanjutkan validasi aplikasi oleh ahli media dan konten, ujicoba terbatas, serta evaluasi akhir. Hasil validasi ahli menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata skor dari aspek isi, teknis dan penyajian sebesar 86.5% dari skor ideal dan hasil uji kelayakan dengan skor 76 dalam skala System Usability Scale (SUS) dalam arti baik. Sedangkan indeks interpretasi tanggapan mahasiswa terhadap penggunaan media sebesar 81.65% yang berarti sangat setuju adanya hypermedia adaptif. Akhirnya, berdasarkan desain dan validasi yang telah dikerjakan dapat disimpulkan bahwa hypermedia adaptif berbasis gaya belajar mahasiswa layak untuk diimplementasikan pada pembelajaran daring kuliah Komunikasi Data secara mandiri guna mendukung gerakan belajar di rumah pada masa pandemic Covid-19 saat ini.

This research is a quantitative study that examines the preferences of Visual, Auditory,Read/Write, Kinesthetic (VARK) learning styles in the scientific cognitive domain. Threegroups of students with different scientific backgrounds were compared to obtain the latestfacts about differences in learning style preferences. Data was collected online based onthe VARK questionnaire version 7.1 of 270 students in three different study programs froma public university in Surakarta City, Indonesia. The results show that the differences inknowledge being studied by students in different study programs make a significantcontribution to the differences in learning style preferences of each student. However, thedifference is not much difference between students in the same study program, both maleand female. This difference in learning style preferences provides a sign for educators todesign innovative learning process models that are tailored to students' learning stylepreferences.

This service activity is intended for a group of people to empower economic independence (management aspects) and improve skills (hard skills and soft skills) (educational aspects) in the dimensions of strengthening promotions and improving marketing models for ornamental umbrella industry production in the Klaten area. The form of activity is in the form of training on web application design based on hypermedia engineering. A target audience is a group of craftsmen, namely groups of productive people who work as ornamental umbrella craftsmen in Klaten. The main problem found based on empirical observations in the field is that there is currently no more modern marketing model available to promote and market umbrella production worldwide. The main consequence of this is that product marketing has stalled so that it has an impact on the accumulation of product results among craftsmen. This has implications for abundant production stock so it is very detrimental in the calculation of the production process which in the end makes many craftsmen stop their business. One of the efforts to overcome this is by improving the promotion model and marketing tools through the use of hypermedia navigation technology. The main target of this activity is to empower and improve the skills of craftsmen in marketing products using modern web applications through hypermedia engineering. Activities are debriefing and in the form of training carried out using lecture, demonstration, exercise, and mentoring methods. The lecture method is used to activate the spirit of entrepreneurship and competition, as well as to explain the concept of online marketing and hypermedia technology. The demonstration method is used to demonstrate a work and learning process, namely the stages of designing and installing a modern web application with hypermedia, as well as presenting examples of how to pioneer a form of global promotion and marketing. Meanwhile, the training method is used to practice how to design and manage promotional content for marketed products and interconnect them in interactive hypermedia navigation. While the mentoring method will provide opportunities for participants (craftsmen) to consult directly and continuously in overcoming obstacles that arise during the training process and early implementation of hypermedia applications. Based on the activities that have been carried out, several conclusions can be drawn, namely a significant increase in the ability to master web applications and online marketing of the craftsmen and the potential for increasing product marketing on a global scale. The main obstacle in this activity is the low awareness of the craftsmen to increase their potential and competence.
