Abstract

This study aimed to develop an AR book, PETANI (Introduction to Indonesian Food Plants), that can help teachers introduce local Indonesian food plants to prevent stunting. This research is a development project utilizing the ADDIE model, which comprises the Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The subjects in this study included learning media experts, learning material experts, and 29 teachers from Banyuwangi Regency. The data collection technique used was a questionnaire administered during validation and user trials. The result of this research is that AR Book PETANI has been developed to the needs of children’s knowledge about local food plants. Additionally, AR Book PETANI is reported to be highly feasible, with an average score of 97.05%, making it suitable for implementation in learning about local food crops at PAUD institutions. This research concludes that the AR Book, with a theme of local food, has been developed as a medium to help teachers introduce local food and prevent stunting. The study’s results confirm the importance of utilizing augmented reality technology in learning media to support nutrition education and optimize the potential of local food as a strategy for preventing stunting from an early age.

Abstract

Maternal age maturity and parenting stress are critical factors influencing the social-emotional development of young children, as parenting practices play a key role in shaping how children learn to regulate emotions and build social relationships. In practice, parents often encounter various challenges in child-rearing, requiring psychological maturity and effective emotional regulation to ensure optimal child development. This study aims to analyze the effects of maternal age and parenting stress on the social-emotional development of early childhood. A quantitative approach with an ex-post facto design was employed, using purposive sampling techniques. The research subjects consisted of 100 mothers and their children aged 5–6 years. Data were analyzed through multiple linear regression using t-tests and F-tests. The results indicate that maternal age and parenting stress significantly affect the social-emotional development of young children. These findings highlight that greater maternal maturity and lower levels of parenting stress contribute positively to children’s social-emotional growth. The study implies the importance of providing support for parents, particularly in managing stress and improving parenting quality, to foster children’s optimal development.

Abstract

The ability to think logically is one of the cognitive abilities of children that need to be developed from an early age. Improving logical thinking skills can be done using interesting media in the form of a game of snakes and ladders qr code. The use of media combined with qr code technology can attract interest and motivate children in learning activities. The purpose of this study was to examine whether or not there is an influence of the qr code snake and ladder media on the logical thinking ability of children in the TK B group aged 5-6 years in Mantewe District. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental research design with a non-equivalent control group design. Data collection techniques using observation techniques with observation sheets. The research subjects were the children of group B in Pembina State Kindergarten, Mantewe Subdistrict with 40 samples consisting of an experimental group of 20 children and a control group of 20 children. Parametric statistical analysis technique using paired sample t-test. After the treatment of the snake and ladder game qr code, the results obtained a significant value in the pre-test and post-test of the experimental group of 0.000 <0.05. Then it can be stated that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning that there is a difference between the child's logical thinking ability before the qr code snake and ladder game media is applied and the child's logical thinking ability after the qr code snake ladder game media is applied. Furthermore, it is hoped that this research can be used by teachers and can contribute especially in improving the logical thinking ability of early childhood.

Abstract

The problem that is often faced by children is the ability of children's self-confidence which is still lacking, so it needs to be stimulated. One method that can be used to stimulate a child's self-confidence is the hypnoteaching method. The purpose of this study was to show whether there is an effect of the hypnoteaching method using great cards on the self-confidence of children aged 5-6 years. The research subjects were group B kindergarten children with a total of 38 children. Children's confidence instruments include: (1) Interacting with the teacher; (2) Express opinions in a simple way; (3) Make simple decisions; and (4) Demonstrating a willingness to appear in front of the class. The method used is a quantitative experimental research method. The experimental design used was quasi-experimental using a non-equivalent control group design. The tool used in this research is observation. In this research, data collection techniques used structured observation using observation sheets. Data analysis techniques used include normality test, homogeneity test and hypothesis testing using the Independent Sample T Test. Based on the calculation results, the significance value (2-tailed) is 0.000 <0.05, that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. So it can be seen that there is a significant effect of the hypnoteaching method using the Great Card game on the self-confidence of group B children. The treatment through the Hypnoteaching method using the Great Card game increases the child's self-confidence score, so that it can be said that the child's self-confidence can be stimulated by given positive suggestions and there is a gradual process of activity.

Abstract

Gross motor development is a crucial aspect of early childhood growth. One method that can be used to improve gross motor skills is through dance activities, particularly the Dongklak Dance. This study aims to determine the effect of Dongklak Dance on the gross motor development of children aged 5–6 years. This research employed a quantitative method using a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 14 children aged 5–6 years, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation and gross motor skills tests, analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The Wilcoxon test produced a p-value < 0.05, showing improvements in balance, coordination, and agility after the Dongklak Dance treatment. In conclusion, the Dongklak Dance can be used as an effective method to enhance gross motor skills in early childhood.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the lack of learning media and the absence of materials that support early childhood understanding of distinguishing the letters “b” and “d” as a foundation of language education. The research aimed to develop Flapbook media to improve the ability of children aged 5–6 years in recognizing the letters “b” and “d,” as well as to test its validity and effectiveness. The method used was Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implement, Evaluate). The subjects were 30 children aged 5–6 years at TK Kemala Bhayangkari 1 Surabaya. Data collection techniques included questionnaires and observation, while data analysis employed the Mann-Whitney test. The Flapbook was designed in A4 size. Validation tests by material and media experts indicated that the Flapbook is feasible for use. The results showed Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) < 0.001 < 0.05, meaning the Flapbook was effective in improving children’s ability to recognize “b” and “d.” Repeated activities supported this improvement, suggesting its integration into early childhood curricula.

Abstract

Among changes that occur in education, especially in universities, COVID-19 pandemic affects on the change of form on final project as a requirementfor student graduation. Some universities no longer require students to writethick and complex thesis as a graduation requirement, but they switch to writearticles published in scientific journals. By then, the present study aims to seehow is the self-efficacy of final year students in responding to the policy. Thisstudy implements quantitative descriptive research design. The researchersmeasure the student self-efficacy using a scale adapted from academic self-efficacy consisting of 23 items. The results showed that final year students werenot familiar enough with reading and writing scientific articles. As many as50.98% of respondents admitted that they rarely read scientific articles. Therewere even 29.41% of respondents who had never written scientific papersbefore. Interestingly, the average score of students
