Abstract

This research seeks to examine how financial literacy and self-control impact students' personal financial management in the Solo Raya region, and to explore the mediating role of self-control in these relationships. The research method used is quantitative with an explanatory research approach. The research sample amounted to 150 students who were selected using non-probability sampling techniques, especially accidental sampling. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires that were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the help of Warp PLS software. The outcomes of the investigation show that financial literacy has a positive effect on self-control and personal financial management. Self-control also has a positive effect on personal financial management. In addition, self-control has been shown to play a mediator role in the association between financial literacy and personal financial management. These findings affirm the importance of improving financial literacy and self-control skills in supporting better financial management behavior among students. This research makes a practical contribution to the development of financial literacy programs that are integrated with character formation among students

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran pengalaman wisatawan pilgrim yang mencakup dimensi emosional(tourist emotional experience) dan spiritual (tourist spiritual experience) dalam membentuk kepuasan (tourist satisfaction), komitmen relasional (relational commitment) serta niat untuk menciptakan nilai bersama (intention to co-create value) dalam konteks wisata ziarah (pilgrimage tourism) ke makam Walisongo di Jawa Tengah. Model penelitian dikembangkan berdasarkan Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) dan literatur terkait perilaku wisatawan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan penyebaran kuesioner tertutup kepada 208 responden pengunjung wisata ziarah (pilgrim tourism) Walisongo di Jawa Tengah yang memiliki pengalaman minimal satu kali melakukan wisata ziarah (pilgrimage tourism) ke makam ‘Wali Songo’. Data dianalisis menggunakan model persamaan struktural (SEM) berbasis smartPLS 4. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tourist’ emotional experience dan spiritual memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kepuasan wisatawan. Tourist’ emotional experience juga berpengaruh signifikan terhadap komitmen relasional, sedangkan pengalaman spiritual tidak berpengaruh signifikan. Selain itu, kepuasan terbukti meningkatkan komitmen relasional dan niat wisatawan untuk menciptakan nilai bersama, meskipun pengaruh langsungnya terhadap niat tersebut tergolong kecil. Sementara itu, komitmen relasional memiliki pengaruh paling kuat terhadap niat menciptakan nilai bersama. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat berkontribusi pada pengembangan TPB dan ilmu pengetahuan di bidang pemasaran, khususnya yang berkaitan dengan wisata religi dan pilgrimage tourism, serta memberikan wawasan bagi pengelola destinasi dalam mengelola pengalaman wisata ziarah yang bermakna bagi pengunjung atau bahkan dalam pengembangan industry pariwisata religi.

Abstract

This study investigates the portrayal of women in the Indonesian film “Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap” movie through a sociolinguistics study. The research aims to explore how language and dialogue in the movie reflect and reinforce societal attitudes towards women, examining the representation of female characters and their interactions within the narrative. The collected data are analyzed by applying qualitative and descriptive method. The dialogues undergo thematic analysis to identify recurring themes related to gender roles, power dynamics, and language use. This approach allows for a comprehensive understanding of how women’s speech in the film reflects or diverges from established sociolinguistic patterns. Triangulation is employed by comparing the film's portrayal of women with existing literature on gender roles in Indonesian society and media, ensuring the validity of the findings (Baxter, 2019; Sunderland, 2020). The results indicate that the portrayal of women in Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap is shaped by cultural influences and prominent themes such as 5 Gender Roles as a woman, 5 Emotional Attachment, and 10 Gender Conflict and Tension. However in the film Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap by comparing woman image and man image it can be found that woman are often portrayed as inferior, weak, and marginalized, while men appear as superior, strong, and dominant. There are some symbolic resistances, but man’s power still cannot be fully seized by woman. As an obedient being, Sarma always does whatever her parents told her to do and feels she must obey completely. Never in her life does she disobey her parents. She then compared what her life to her brothers’. The result come to the fact that the brothers were able to do something freely and disobey their arents because they are men, not a woman like Sarma. The film portrays women as individuals expected to obey men’s commands. Women are also portrayed as being of lower status than men. The patriarchy in this movie is also very noticeable. This portrayal reflects and potentially reinforces societal views of patriarchy and gender hierarchy in Indonesian media

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengungkap kontribusi utama berupa peran mediasi inovasi digital marketing dalam memperkuat pengaruh orientasi pelanggan dan orientasi pesaing terhadap kinerja UMKM kuliner di Kota Bandung. Dengan menggunakan explanatory research dan PLS-SEM pada 100 pelaku UMKM Kuliner. Hasil temuan menunjukkan bahwa orientasi pelanggan dan orientasi pesaing memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja UMKM kuliner di Kota Bandung. Inovasi digital marketing berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap peningkatan kinerja UMKM. Orientasi pelanggan dan orientasi pesaing berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap inovasi digital marketing. Inovasi digital marketing berperan sebagai mediasi yang memperkuat pengaruh antara orientasi pelanggan dan orientasi pesaing terhadap kinerja UMKM. Secara praktis, hasil ini mendorong pelaku UMKM untuk secara sistematis meningkatkan pemahaman kebutuhan pelanggan dan pemantauan pesaing, serta mempercepat adopsi solusi digital dalam promosi dan layanan. Bagi pemerintah daerah dan lembaga pendamping, penelitian ini merekomendasikan penyelenggaraan pelatihan digital marketing yang terintegrasi dengan market intelligence untuk memperkuat daya saing dan pertumbuhan UMKM kuliner.

Abstract

Studi ini dimaksudkan untuk mengevaluasi sejauh mana kepemimpinan transformasional serta komitmen organisasi berkontribusi dalam mendorong peningkatan kinerja bendahara BOS di SD Negeri di Kabupaten Semarang. Sebanyak 212 bendahara BOS dari 19 kecamatan di wilayah tersebut dijadikan responden dalam studi ini. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kuesioner daring yang disebarkan menggunakan Google Form. Pendekatan Partial Least Square (PLS) diterapkan dalam analisis data dengan dukungan perangkat lunak SmartPLS versi 4.0. Temuan studi memperlihatkan jika kepemimpinan transformasional bersama dengan komitmen organisasi terbukti memberikan kontribusi yang positif dan bermakna terhadap peningkatan kinerja bendahara. Selain itu, komitmen terhadap organisasi menjadi faktor mediasi yang menjembatani hubungan antara kepemimpinan transformasional dan kinerja bendahara.

Abstract

This qualitative descriptive study explores the perceptions of lecturers and students towards utilizing the YouTube platform for enhancing language learning and teaching. Amidst the digital revolution, YouTube has emerged as a significant educational tool, offering vast resources for learners and educators in the fields of English and Japanese languages. The study involved 52 students and 11 lecturers from the Faculty of Humanities at Widyatama University, employing questionnaires with both close-ended and open-ended questions to gather data. The results revealed a positive perception towards YouTube, with 89% of lecturers and 88.5% of students recognizing its benefits for language education. Lecturers and students noted YouTube's effectiveness in providing diverse and engaging content, aiding in the development of language skills, and offering accessible materials for better understanding of complex topics. This research underscores YouTube's potential as a valuable educational platform, suggesting its integration into language teaching and learning strategies to optimize educational outcomes. The findings highlight the need for educators to explore digital platforms like YouTube to enhance the learning experience, catering to the evolving needs of 21st-century learners.Keywords: perception, YouTube platform, qualitative research, language learning and teaching, digital education

Abstract

The purposes of this research to find the types of figurative language and to uncover the types of meaning used in the ten minutes song lyrics by Taylor Swift. The research method used is qualitative descriptive method and to collect the data needed, the library research is implemented. The main theories used in this research are the theory of figurative language by Kennedy (1979) and of meaning types by Leech (1981). The result of the research shows respectively that there are 29 data of figurative language found in the lyrics of Taylor Swifts’ song comprising of 10 data (34.5%) on metaphor, 6 data (20.7%) on personification, 5 data (17.2%) on simile, 2 data (6.9%) on symbol, 2 data (6.9%) on hyperbole), 3 data (10.3%) on irony, 1 data (3.5%) on metonymy, but no data (0%) on allision; whereas the data on types of meaning found in the lyrics of Taylor Swifts’ song are 18 data (65.5%) on connotative meaning, 8 data (24.2%) on affective meaning and 3 data (10.3%) on conceptual meaning. The figurative language metaphor (34.5%) and connotative meaning (24.2%) become the most dominant due to the fact that Swift invites the listener to interpret and feel the emotions more intensely, creating a more immersive and evocative listening experience. Other than that, the song lyrics describe the feeling of how painful after breakup and severe betrayal.

Abstract

This study investigates ostensible invitations in English and Indonesian from a cross-cultural perspective, focusing on their linguistic forms and pragmatic functions. Ostensible invitations—offers made without a genuine expectation of acceptance—are examined through naturally occurring conversations, role-play data, and discourse analysis. The study draws on politeness theory, speech act theory, and high- vs. low-context cultural frameworks to explore how indirectness, formulaic expressions, and contextual cues convey non-literal intent. In English, ostensible invitations often employ vague or non-committal phrasing to minimize imposition and protect negative face, such as “We should get together sometime.” In Indonesian, they frequently appear in culturally prescribed forms like Main ke rumah kapan-kapan (“Come to my house sometime”), functioning to maintain social harmony (kerukunan) and express positive politeness. Findings reveal that while both languages use ostensible invitations to manage interpersonal relationships, their underlying motivations and interpretive cues differ due to contrasting cultural values, such as individualism in English-speaking contexts and collectivism in Indonesian society. The research highlights implications for intercultural communication, language teaching, and translation, aiming to reduce misunderstandings caused by differing pragmatic norms.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the role of information technology in mediating the impact of artificial intelligence on enhancing user experience among Generation Z social media users in Semarang City. The research employs a quantitative approach with an explanatory research method, involving 200 respondents from Generation Z who are active users of the Shopee e-commerce platform. Data were collected through online questionnaires and analyzed using the Partial Least Squares (PLS 4.0) method. The results of the study show that artificial intelligence has a positive and significant effect on user experience in social media. Artificial intelligence has a positive and significant effect on augmented reality. Artificial intelligence has a positive and significant effect on virtual influencers. Artificial intelligence has a positive and significant effect on chatbots. Augmented reality has a positive and significant effect on user experience in social media. Virtual influencers have a positive and significant effect on user experience in social media. Chatbots have a positive and significant effect on user experience in social media.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (PkM) aims to preserve Sundanese dance culture through the development of a dance arts curriculum at LKP Bina Lestari Sumedang. The background of this activity is the declining interest of the younger generation in traditional dance due to the influence of popular culture and the lack of relevance of the existing curriculum. The methods used include needs analysis, the development of digital-based learning modules, intensive training for educators, cultural campaigns through social media, and strengthening learning infrastructure. The results of the activity show the achievement of the new vision and mission of LKP Bina Lestari, the preparation of a structured curriculum for three levels (beginner, proficient, expert), and the creation of innovative modules that integrate cultural values and digital technology. This program also expands social impact through collaboration with art communities, cultural figures, and the surrounding community. With a collaborative approach and the utilization of science and technology, this activity has succeeded in increasing the awareness, skills, and interest of the young generation in Sundanese dance, while also strengthening local cultural identity amidst the tide of globalization.
