Abstract

Purun waste and sawdust are generally thrown away, not used by the community. This study examines the utilization of purun waste and sawdust with polyurethane adhesive. Purun is mixed with ironwood sawdust in a ratio of 5% and 95%; 10% and 90%; 0% and 100%. The adhesive used is 10% of the material weight. The particleboard is hydraulically pressed at a temperature of 105oC with a pressure of 15 kg/cm2 for 15 minutes. Each treatment is repeated 3 times. The results show that particleboard made from purun waste and sawdust has physical properties (water content and density) and mechanics that meet the requirements of SNI. 03-2105-2006, except for the MoR value. The addition of purun in the composition of particleboard materials does not significantly affect the properties of particleboard so it can be used as an alternative raw material.

Abstract

Terantang is commonly found growing in the peat swamp forests of Central Kalimantan. It holds significant economic value in the wood processing industry; however, it has low durability, requiring preservation treatments to enhance its wood quality. This study aims to analyze the impact of Gelam wood liquid smoke concentration and the radial direction of Terantang wood on its physical properties, particularly wood weight and specific gravity, after being stored outdoors under shaded conditions for 5 weeks. A factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was employed, incorporating two factors: liquid smoke concentration (0%, 10%, 20%, and 30%) and radial direction of the wood (near the bark, middle, and near the pith). The data were analyzed using ANOVA, followed by Tukey’s HSD test to determine significant differences between treatments. The results indicated that increasing the concentration of liquid smoke significantly enhanced both the wood weight and specific gravity. The 30% liquid smoke concentration produced the highest increase in specific gravity (0.5240 g/cm³). The radial direction of the wood also had a significant effect, with the near-pith section showing higher specific gravity. The interaction between liquid smoke concentration and radial direction significantly influenced the wood weight. These findings suggest that Gelam wood liquid smoke is an effective natural preservative that can significantly maintain the physical quality of Terantang wood stored outdoors under shaded conditions for 5 weeks, specifically in terms of wood weight and specific gravity. This method shows potential for use in sustainable wood processing industries.

Abstract

Peatland Forest fires are one of the main causes of high concentrations of particulate matter and gases, especially PM2.5 and carbon monoxide (CO). Particles of PM2.5 are very small, so they can enter directly into the human lungs, as well as high concentrations of CO will affect the concentration of carboxyhemoglobin (COHb) in human blood, so it can cause decreased vision, hearing, and death. Monitoring of particulate and gas concentrations is carried out, to increase the concern of all levels of society, so as not to burn forests and peatlands in the dry season, be careful in carrying out all activities outside the home during peatland forest fires, especially vulnerable ages such as infants, children, pregnant, people with congenital diseases and the elderly. The sensor tools used are P-Sensor for recording PM2.5 concentration and EL-USB-CO sensor for recording carbon monoxide (CO) concentration placed at UPT Laboratorium Lahan Gambut – CIMTROP University of Palangka Raya and north-west at PERUM PEMDA Km 10 Cilik Riwut, Palangka Raya for 2 months during forest and peatland fires in September and October 2023. Data is tabulated and analyzed using Microsoft Excel. T-test result of PM2.5 and CO concentration during the rainy season and dry season (peatland forest fire) is p-value < 0,05 at UPT LLG – CIMTROP dan Perum Pemda Km 10 Cilik Riwut. The PM2.5 concentration in UPT LLG – CIMTROP during the peatland forest fires 2023 is 700.24 μg/m3, while the CO concentration is 7,446 μg/m3 (6.5 ppm). The PM2.5 concentration at the PERUM PEMDA Km 10 Cilik Riwut is 333.39 μg/m3, while the CO concentration is 26,439 μg/m3 (23 ppm). PM2.5 concentrations in UPT LLG – CIMTROP are higher, but CO concentrations are lower than those in PERUM PEMDA Km. 10 Cilik Riwut, possibly caused by wind direction effect, vegetation, fuel, and other sources such as vehicle fumes in respective locations.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis sistem persediaan bahan baku dan proses produksi pada Aldi Mandomai Meubel di Kota Palangka Raya serta mengevaluasi efisiensi biaya persediaan menggunakan metode Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), Safety Stock (SS), dan Reorder Point (ROP). Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi terkait pembelian, penggunaan, biaya pemesanan, serta biaya penyimpanan bahan baku. Bahan baku utama yang digunakan meliputi kayu ulin, benuas, meranti, dan kayu lokal bandsaw. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem persediaan bahan baku pada perusahaan masih dilakukan secara manual berdasarkan pengalaman manajerial sehingga belum optimal dalam pengendalian biaya persediaan. Hasil analisis EOQ menunjukkan jumlah pemesanan bahan baku yang optimal sebesar 4,6 m³ setiap kali pemesanan dengan frekuensi pemesanan sebanyak 14 kali per tahun. Perhitungan Safety Stock sebesar 14,83 m³ dan Reorder Point sebesar 15 m³ menunjukkan batas persediaan minimum untuk melakukan pemesanan kembali guna menjaga kelancaran produksi. Total biaya persediaan menggunakan metode EOQ sebesar Rp1.391.086 per tahun, lebih rendah dibandingkan sistem perusahaan sebesar Rp4.350.000 per tahun, sehingga diperoleh penghematan biaya sebesar Rp2.958.914 per tahun. Penerapan metode EOQ, Safety Stock, dan Reorder Point terbukti mampu meningkatkan efisiensi pengendalian persediaan bahan baku serta mendukung kontinuitas proses produksi pada industri mebel.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to determine the effect of immersion in different liquid smoke treatments on the specific gravity of Gerunggang wood at the radial direction. The study was conducted at the Forest Products Technology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Palangka Raya University. The parameter observed was the specific gravity of the wood. The experimental method used was a 2x2 factorial completely randomized design (CRD) with two treatments: liquid smoke concentration (0%, 5%) and radial location (near the heart and near the bark), with 10 replications. The results of this study showed that immersion in liquid smoke had a not significant effect (p<0.05) on the specific gravity. The influence of the radial position was significantly different, where the part near the liver was higher than the part near the skin. The interaction between the immersion factor and the radial position had no significant effect.

Abstract

Conventional energy sources have negative impacts on the environment, therefore alternative renewable energy from biomass is needed. Biomass energy can be converted into solid fuel in the form of wood pellets. Wood pellets can reduce the use of conventional energy and can be produced from wood waste using environmentally friendly technology. Technology plays an important role in wood pellet production, in addition to raw material composition and processing methods. This study used three particle sizes and three holding times in the pelletizing process. The parameters tested were moisture content, density, tool effectiveness and efficiency, and pellet shape characteristics. The results showed that the moisture content of all treatments met the SNI 8021:2014 standard, while the density values did not meet the standard. The effectiveness and efficiency of The DIP1 pellet molding device were still relatively low in terms of production capacity and pellet quality, both macroscopically (shape) and microscopically (stored energy density). Abstract

Dayak Ngaju Karungut is an oral tradition from Central Kalimantan that integrates aesthetic expression, social values, spirituality, and cultural identity. This study examines its aesthetic structure and cultural values and analyzes its intermedial adaptation into modern poetry as a revitalization strategy. Using a qualitative descriptive design with participatory involvement of Dayak Ngaju communities in Kapuas Regency, data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, audio-visual documentation, and transcriptions of two Karungut texts, then analyzed thematically and hermeneutically. The findings reveal distinct thematic orientations: “Palampang Budaya Itah” mobilizes collective action for cultural preservation, whereas “Budaya Ayun Itah” emphasizes identity reflection and cultural spirituality. The adaptation retains core themes, cultural symbols, and collective values while transforming oral repetition and musicality into textual rhythm and poetic musicality. These findings demonstrate how intermedial adaptation can connect cultural continuity with contemporary aesthetic innovation.
