Abstract

Ekstrak etanol daun mangga arumanis perlu dilakukan standarisasi untuk menjamin konsistensi mutu, keamanan dan efek yang dihasilkan. Purifikasi ekstrak dilakukan untuk menghilangkan adanya zat ballast yang tidak dapat menghasilkan efek terapi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk memperoleh dan mengetahui hasil standarisasi ekstrak terpurifikasi daun mangga arumanis (ETDMA). Daun mangga arumanis disari dengan metode maserasi, pelarut etanol 96%, dilanjutkan purifikasi ekstrak dengan metode ekstraksi cair-cair menggunakan pelarut air panas-etilasetat. Standarisasi ETDMA dilakukan untuk parameter spesifik dan nonspesifik. Parameter spesifik meliputi uji organoleptis, kadar senyawa larut air dan larut etanol. Parameter nonspesifik meliputi kadar air, kadar abu total, kadar abu tidak larut asam dan uji cemaran logam. Data standarisasi dianalisis secara deskriptif yang beberapa dibandingkan dengan standar yang telah ditetapkan. Hasil uji parameter spesifik berupa ekstrak terpurifikasi daun mangga arumanis kental berwarna hijau kecoklatan, kadar senyawa larut air dan etanol masing-masing sebesar 22% dan 67,4 %. Hasil uji parameter nonspesifik berupa kadar air, susut pengeringan tidak memenuhi syarat, sedangkan kadar abu, kadar abu tidak larut asam, cemaran Pb dan Cd, cemaran mikroba memenuhi syarat. Jadi belum dapat dikatakan ekstrak terpurifikasi daun mangga arumanis terstandar. Abstract

Kulit buah naga merah sebagai limbah yang dapat dimanfaatkan zat warna merah antosianin sebagai pewarna alami sediaan lipstik. Pewarna alami memiliki keunggulan yaitu lebih aman dan adanya aktivitas antioksidannya. Lisptik yang baik ditinjau dari karakteristik fisiknya yang dipengaruhi oleh basis lisptik yaitu lilinya berupa Carnauba wax dan Beeswax. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik fisik lipstik sari kulit buah naga merah dengan variasi perbandingan Carnauba wax dan Beeswax.Sari kulit buah naga merah diperoleh dengan proses penyaringan hasil blender kulit buah naga merah yang rendemen sarinya sebesar 81.78 %. Dirancang lima formula lipstik dengan konsentrasi sari kulit buah naga merah sebesar 25% dan perbandingan antara Carnauba wax: Beeswax pada F1 (1:1), F2 (1:2), F3 (1:3), F4 (2:1) dan F5 (3:1). Metode pembuatan lipstik yang digunakan adalah metode peleburan dan pencampuran sari kulit buah naga merah dalam suhu yang tidak terlalu panas. Lipstik yang dihasilkan diujikan karakteristik fisik dan daya olesnya.Hasil menunjukkan bahwa lipstik sari kulit buah naga merah memiliki warna merah muda, homogen dengan pH lipstik 5,1. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa semakin meningkatnya konsentrasi Beeswax dapat menurunkan titik lebur dan kekerasannya namun sebaliknya semakin meningkatnya konsentrasi Carnauba wax akan meningkatkan pula titik lebur dan kekerasannya. Dari kelima formula masih memenuhi karkateristik fisik lipstik yang dapat diterima namun daya olesnya belum cukup baik karena ketika dioleskan warna belum intensif.   Kata kunci: Antosianin, Beeswax, Carnauba wax, Lipstik

Abstract

Bay leaves that it contains flavonoid compounds can inhibit the growth of Escherichia coli bacteria causes diarrhea. Hot extraction method can extract more compounds in the plants, particularly are heat stable. This study aimed to determine the different of total flavonoid content and antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli from bay leaves extracts that extracted with some solvent by reflux. The bay leaves extract was extracted with 70% ethanol, 96% ethanol, and methanol solvent. The spectrophotometric method was used to determine of total flavonoid contents at λmax 431,5 nm and operating time 30 minutes with AlCl₃ reagent. The disc diffusion method was used antibacterial activity test with chloramphenicol as a positive control and dimethyl sulfoxide as negative control. Analysis data of total flavonoid content with One Way Anova statistics, meanwhile the zone of inhibition from antibacterial activity test analysed by Two Way Anova continued with Tukey. The total flavonoid content of bay leaves extract (ethanol 70%, ethanol 96%, and methanol) were 6,089; 5,028; 4,052 mgQE/gram extract. There was significant difference of total flavonoid content between variation solvent and the most highest at 70% ethanol. Different extraction solvent and concentration serial of bay leaves extract showed significant difference and the most highest zone of inhibition at extract with 96% ethanol solvent.

Abstract

ABSTRACTBreadfruit leaves contain flavonoid compounds that can inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. Breadfruit leaf extract is practical and effective formulated in ointment preparations. The base combination of PEG 400 and PEG 4000 decreases the melting point of PEG 4000, so that it is compatible and can increase the penetration of drugs in the skin. The objective of this study to determine the breadfruit leaf extract ointment with a combination of PEG 400 and PEG 4000 bases as well as antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. Breadfruit leaf extract (BLE) was obtained by maceration with 70% ethanol. Salve preparations were made into III formulas with variations in base concentrations of PEG 400 and PEG 4000, namely (F1) 75%: 25%, (F2) 50%: 50%, (F3) 25%: 75%, using the fusion method. Antibacterial activity test used agar well diffusion method. Kruskal Wallis test and Mann Whitney test used for analyzed data from antibacterial activity test. The ointment of Breadfruit leaves extract showed the color of brown ointment, semi-solid form, distinctive aroma of breadfruit leave. All of three ointment formulas have antibacterial activity indicated by the formation of inhibitory zones around the well. All of three ointment formulas have significant differences which means the combination of PEG 400 and PEG 4000 can affect antibacterial activity of BLE ointment. The higher of the concentration PEG 4000 compared PEG 400 caused inhibiton zone become smaller that means the potency of antibacterial decreased. Abstract

ABSTRACT Breadfruit leaves (Artocarpus altilis) was contain compound of flavonoids, tannins and phenol that the ability as antibacterial against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The extracts of breadfruit leaves formulated became ointment that made practice to used. The combine of ointment bases can obtain of good consistency like the combine of adeps lanae with vaselin album and cera flava with vaselin album. The aims of this study to know the profile of antibacterial activity of the breadfruit leaves extract ointment with two kind of the combine of ointment bases. The breadfruit leaves extract has obtained by maceration method used etanol 70% solvents. The breadfruit leaves ointment was made by melting method with combination bases A is adeps lanae:vaselin album as F1 (13.5%:76.5%), F2 (45%:45%) dan F3 (76.5%:13.5%), while combination B is cera alba:vaselin album as F1 (85.5%:4.5%), F2 (81%:9%), F3 (76.5%:13.5%). antibacterial activity assay was used well diffusion method and analyzed descriptively. The research result that the all formulas has breadfruit flavor, smooth texture and brown color. Two variatons of combination bases ointment has antibacterial activity against Staphylcoccus aureus bacteri with formed of inhibition zone around the well. Abstract

INTISARI Daun Pare telah digunakan sebagai obat batuk oleh masyarakat dan memiliki rasa sangat pahit. Mempertimbangkan acceptabilitas dan  kemudahan dalam pemakaian  maka ekstrak etanol daun pare dibuat sediaan tablet hisap dengan kombinasi pemanis Sukrosa dan Aspartam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik fisik tablet hisap ekstrak etanol daun Pare dengan kombinasi pemanis Sukrosa dan Aspartam, serta penerimaan rasa oleh responden. Ekstrak etanol daun pare dibuat secara maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 70%. Tablet hisap dibuat dalam 5 formula berdasarkan kombinasi pemanis sukrosa dan aspartam yaitu FI (sukrosa 10% : aspartam 0%), FII (sukrosa 6% : aspartam 4%), FIII (sukrosa 5% : aspartam 5%), FIV (sukrosa 4% : aspartam 6%), FV (sukrosa 0% : aspartam 10%). Metode granulasi basah digunakan  untuk pembuatan tablet  hisap. Granul diuji sifat fisik meliputi kecepatan alir, sudut diam dan kompresibilitas. Tablet hisap yang diperoleh diuji sifat fisik meliputi keseragaman bobot, kekerasan, kerapuhan, dan waktu larut serta tanggapan rasa. Data hasil uji granul dibandingkan dengan pustaka yang diacu. Data kerapuhan dan waktu larut dianalisa  secara statistik menggunakan uji  Kruskal-wallis. Data keseragaman bobot  tablet dan kekerasan dianalisa menggunakan uji ANOVA satu jalan, untuk keseragaman bobot tablet dilanjutkan dengan uji Tukey, dengan taraf kepercayaan 95%. Data tanggapan rasa dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi pemanis sukrosa dan aspartam menghasilkan tablet hisap ekstrak etanol daun pare yang memenuhi persyaratan fisik dan terdapat perbedaan pada FI dan FIII, FII dan FIII dari keseragaman bobot. Tablet  hisap FIV memiliki tingkat penerimaan rasa oleh responden sebesar 85%. The consider of acceptability and easy to use of the ethanol extract of bitter melon leaves  made preparations lozenges with a combination of sweetener sucrose and aspartame. This study aims to determine the physical characteristics lozenges of ethanol extract of bitter melon leaves with a combination of sweetener sucrose and aspartame, and flavor acceptance by the respondent. The ethanol extract of  bitter melon leaves made by maceration using ethanol 70%  as solvent. Lozenges made in 5 formula based on a combination of sweeteners sucrose and aspartame are FI (sucrose 10%: aspartame 0%), FII (sucrose 6%: aspartame 4%), FIII (sucrose 5%: aspartame 5%), FIV (sucrose 4 %: aspartame 6%), FV (sucrose 0%: 10% of aspartame). The wet granulation method    used for manufactured  of lozenges. The granules tested physical properties include the flow rate, angle of repose and compressibility. Lozenges was tested physical properties include uniformity of weight, hardness, friability, time of solubility and  hedonic test. Data from the granul assay  compared with a  standard reference. Data  of  fragility and  time of solubility analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis test  statistically. Data  of  uniformity of weight and hardness were analyzed using  one way  ANOVA  test,  and  for uniformity  of weight  followed by Tukey's test, with a level of 95%. Data hedonic were analyzed descriptively.  40 The results  showed that the combination of  sweetener  sucrose and aspartame  on  the lozenges  of  ethanol extract of  bitter melon  leaves  are  requirements  of physical and there is a difference the uniformity of weight in FI and FIII, FII and FIII. Abstract

Ekstrak daun bidara arab telah diketahui mengandung flavonoid dan dapat berfungsi sebagai antibakteri. Secara umum, flavonoid dapat diekstrak dari tanaman menggunakan pelarut etanol 70%. Jerawat merupakan salah satu kondisi yang disebabkan oleh beberapa bakteri, di antaranya P.acnes. S.epidermis, dan S. aureus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak etanol 70% daun bidara arab terhadap bakteri P.acnes. S.epidermis, dan S. aureus, serta komposisi kandungan kimianya. Metode maserasi digunakan untuk menghasilkan ekstrak daun bidara Arab dengan bantuan pelarut etanol 70%. Pengujian aktivitas antibakteri dilakukan dengan metode difusi cakram. Konsentrasi ekstrak etanol 70% daun bidara arab yang digunakan untuk P. acnes 20; 25; 30; 35 dan 40%, S. epidermidis 20, 40, dan 60%, S aureus 40, 50, 60, 70 dan 80%. Keberadaan senyawa aktif dalam ekstrak etanol 70% daun bidara arab dilakukan dengan skrining fitokimia. Analisis data untuk uji aktivitas antibakteri dilakukan secara deskriptif berupa nilai diameter daerah hambat (DDH) yang diukur dari zona hambat yang terbentuk, sedangkan uji skrining fitokimia disesuaikan dengan acuan. Hasil uji aktivitas antibakteri terhadap ketiga jenis bakteri tersebut menghasilkan nilai DDH 8,06- 13,49 mm. Senyawa aktif yang terkandung dalam ekstrak etanol 70% daun bidara Arab berupa alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin dan tanin.

Abstract

Leaves and stem bark of orange jasmine have bioactive compounds such as phenol and flavonoids, which these compounds could be extracted by organic solvent and have antifungal activity against Malassezia furfur which cause excema, dandruff and tinea versicolor in humans. Fractionation of the extract would obtain a specific compound based on the polarity of the solvent. This research aims to know the active fraction of leaves and stem bark of orange jasmine which had antifungal activity against Malassezia furfur.  The simplicia powder of leaves and stem bark orange jasmine was macerated with 96% ethanol solvent and then fractionated as gradually with n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and water solvent. The antifungal activity of ethanol extract and fractions was tested against Malassezia furfur with 80; 90; 100% concentration by disk diffusion method at 37˚C for 48 hours of incubation. The data of antifungal activity was analyzed by two-way ANOVA. The result of this research showed antifungal activity from active fraction as water fraction of leaves and stem bark of orange jasmine against Malassezia furfur. The diameter of inhibition zones for the active fraction of leaves and stem bark of orange jasmine such as 8.6 – 14 mm and 12.3 – 15.8 mm respectively.

Abstract

Ethyl acetate extracts of Mangifera indica leaves had chemical constituents such as saponins, alkaloids, phenols, tannins, flavonoids and diterpenes. Purified extract of Mangifera indica leaves had antibacterial activity against S. aureus and E. coli. This research aimed to know the antibacterial activity of mango bud (Mangifera indica L. var Arum Manis) against S. aureus, E. coli, P. aeruginosa and their multidrug resistant spesies. Arum manis mango bud simplicia powder was extracted by maceration method used ethyl acetate solvent. This extract tested to flavonoids and alkaloids by qualitative methods. Antibacterial activity used disc diffusion method and the concentration of this extract such as  10, 20, 30, 40 and 50%. Data of antibacterial activity was analyzed by descriptively. Arum manis mango bud extract had antibacterial activity against all of tested bacteria with diameter of zone of inhibition at 6.76 – 12.20 mm. The arum manis mango bud extract contained flavonoids and alkaloids.

Abstract

Mango leaves contained active compounds such as tannins, flavonoids, phenols, and saponins. Its absorbed in ethanol extract and acted as antibacterial against Streptococcus pyogenes bacteria. The purpose of this study was known active compounds and the antibacterial activity against Streptococcus pyogenes bacteria of ethanol extract of mango leaves (Mangifera indica L. var. Arum Manis). Ethanol extract of arum manis mango leaves (EEAML) was obtained by maceration method with 96% ethanol solvent that was tested for phytochemical screening such as alkaloid, flavonoid, phenolic, tannin and saponin. Serial of EEAML concentration has made at 5, 7.5, 10 (%) with DMSO solvent that was tested for antibacterial activity by disk diffusion method and gradually incubated at 37° C for 48 hours then at room temperature for up to 60 hours in anaerobic jars. Positive and negative control were used erythromycin 15 µg/disk and DMSO solvent respectively. The data, that resulted from phytochemical screening test and antibacterial activity test, was analyzed by descriptively. The results of phytochemical screening test of EEAML was contained as flavonoids, phenolics, tannins, and saponins.The EEAML was showed antibacterial activity all of concentrations with zone of inhibition diameters values at 13.03 mm, 16.83 mm and 18.27 mm.
