Abstract

Student satisfaction refers to the level of contentment experienced by students regarding various aspects of their educational experience, including the quality of academic services and student trust in development opportunities. This satisfaction is an essential indicator of educational institutions' success in meeting students' expectations and needs. This study aims to analyze and understand the determinants of student trust and the quality of educational services (tangible, empathy, reliability, responsiveness, assurance) on student satisfaction at the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training (FKIP) of Pattimura University, Ambon. This study adopts a quantitative approach to explore the relationship between independent and dependent variables. Utilizing a simple random sample, every member of the population has an equal chance of being selected from the 120 respondents analyzed using SPSS version 27. The hypothesis testing shows that Student Trust, Tangible, Reliability, Responsiveness, and Assurance were accepted; Empathy was rejected. Independent variables influence 56.1% of the dependent variable. The abstract's conclusion states that the independent variables explain 56.1% of the variation in the dependent variable, student satisfaction. Elaborate slightly on what this implies about the relationship between service quality dimensions and student satisfaction.

Abstract

Modern education increasingly emphasizes the holistic development of students' potential, recognizing the diverse intelligences each individual possesses. Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligence (MI) theory posits that individuals have distinct intelligences that can be nurtured through tailored educational approaches. At SMA Negeri 3 Seram Bagian Barat, this concept has been adopted to foster students' interests and talents, creating a supportive learning environment that maximizes their potential. Despite the benefits, the implementation of MI-based activities faces challenges such as the lack of systematic programs and adequate facilities, which hinder comprehensive student development. This study employs a mixed-method approach to understand the application of MI concepts in educational settings. Key activities include intensive workshops for teachers, mentoring, program development, facility enhancements, and continuous evaluation and monitoring. The results indicate significant improvements in both academic and non-academic performance among students, increased teacher competence, and a more conducive learning environment. The success of the MI program is attributed to effective educational management practices that prioritize personalized learning, continuous professional development for teachers, strategic infrastructure investments, and robust evaluation mechanisms. These elements collectively contribute to an educational ecosystem that supports holistic student development and continuous improvement in educational practices. The findings underscore the importance of integrating innovative educational strategies with effective management practices to create dynamic and inclusive learning environments that cater to the diverse needs of all students, ultimately leading to better educational outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of teachers in shaping the disciplinary character of upper elementary school students at SD Air Louw, located on Jalan Hatiari, Dusun Air Louw, Nusaniwe District, Ambon City. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and documentation, with five teachers as the main participants. Data analysis was conducted based on Thomas Lickona's character education theory, which emphasizes three main components of character formation: moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action. The results of the study indicate that teachers play an important role in shaping students' disciplinary character through modeling, positive reinforcement, behavior reinforcement, and consistent enforcement of rules. Teachers also create a conducive learning environment for character development through communicative and reflective interactions. This study concludes that active involvement and moral awareness of teachers are key factors in the success of character education in elementary schools. These findings can serve as a reference for the development of more systematic and applicable character education programs at the elementary school level.

Abstract

The difference in the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) between the 3T (frontier, outermost, and disadvantaged) regions poses an enormous challenge towards achieving equitable quality education, particularly in practice-based Physical Education (PJ) subjects. Remote island districts such as Tual City, Maluku Province, face severe issues regarding infrastructure, internet access, and teacher professional development. The aim of this study is to study the integration of ICT and identify the challenges faced by elementary school distance learning teachers in Tual City. Descriptive qualitative research was conducted, data collected through class observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentation of 13 distance learning teachers. The results revealed that 69.2% of the participants had a good idea of ICT, while 30.8% of them had limited knowledge. Although all the participants agreed that ICT can be utilized in learning, a significant disparity was found between classroom practice and self-reported use. Instructional videos, laptops, and PowerPoint were quoted most often, but actual implementation is still in its infancy. Significant obstacles are internal in nature such as low digital literacy and teacher motivation and external such as poor policy support, limited school infrastructure, and poor internet connectivity. The study recommends context-specific ICT education, constructing digital infrastructure, and adaptive policy to support teachers in remote areas. The study contributes theoretically by identifying the application of ICT in less researched practice-based fields, and contributes to policy for the promotion of technology implementation in 3T (third-to-third) territories
