Abstract

The role of parents in the development of children's personality is very important, especially in the formation of religious personality. Parents are the first means through which a child undergoes socialization and the formation of the child's personality. Because parents are a reflection of the child, it is expected that religious education in children will succeed in shaping the child's personality. The purpose of this study is to find out what are the roles of parents in fostering children's religiosity, what values children get from the religiosity, and how children are influenced in the practice of religiosity in the community. The location of this research is Yobeh village in Senthani district of Jayapura Regency. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The data collection techniques used are in-depth interview, observation, and documentation. Data analysis includes the stages of data exploration, data classification, data validation, and conclusion drawing. The result of this study is that the role of parents is still not fully implemented. This is because there are still many parents who delegate their parenting role to other institutions. There are several reasons why this happens, because many parents do not have time to provide full care, because they are busy earning a living. But there are also parents who want to directly shape the religious role of their children, so there are also parents who teach their own religious education to their children. Evidently, parents directly or indirectly have a very large role in shaping the character and personality values of their children.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the role of women noken crafts in meeting the socio-economic needs of the family, what are the results achieved by women noken crafts in Bhayangkara Village, North Jayapura District, and the obstacles faced in meeting the socio-economic needs of the family. The method used in the research is descriptive qualitative method. The subjects of this research are women noken crafts, Jayapura City Women's Empowerment Office, Bhayangkara Village. Data collection techniques using interview guidelines, observation and documentation techniques. While data analysis uses data editing techniques, data reduction, categorising in units, presenting data, interpreting data, testing data validity and drawing conclusions/verification. The results showed that the role of women noken crafts in Bhayangkara Village, North Jayapura District can be said to be unfavourable, in terms of education, health, and social status. The utilisation of noken bag weaving in Bhayangkara Village, North Jayapura District found inhibiting factors, including: business capital, means of buying and selling, utilisation of models/motifs, and extension of the Jayapura City Women's Empowerment Office. By weaving Noken bags, the women aim to support the daily economy of the Noken crafters' families by realising the local community's socio-economy in terms of income. In other words, the use of Noken bags can affect socioeconomic improvements such as food, clothing, shelter, children's education, health, and ownership of valuables.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas tentang pelaksanaan Program Keluarga Harapan di Kota Jayapura dan mengkaji proses konstruksi sosial pada keluarga penerima, beserta dampak perubahan yang dialami. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif, khususnya pendekatan fenomenologi, dengan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan diskusi kelompok terarah. Analisis data meliputi reduksi data, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan Program Keluarga Harapan belum optimal karena kurangnya perhatian dari sumber daya manusia penyuluhan sosial, serta terbatasnya keterlibatan pemerintah dan instansi terkait, faktor sosial budaya, dan latar belakang pendidikan peserta. Konstruksi sosial keluarga penerima program meliputi pemahaman dan penerimaan terhadap komponen program, yang diikuti dengan penerapan pola hidup baru untuk mempertahankan manfaatnya. Konstruksi sosial ini dipengaruhi oleh pendamping, lembaga pemerintah, dan persepsi terhadap bantuan sosial. Namun, perubahan sosial yang diharapkan belum tercapai karena dukungan pendamping yang kurang memadai, terbatasnya koordinasi pemerintah, dan keterbatasan infrastruktur.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkap bagaimana pemahaman guru dan bagaimana sosialisasi serta internalisasi filosofi noken pada sekolah di kota Jayapura dan Sentani. Metode penelitian menggunakan studi lapangan untuk mengetahui problem sosialisasi noken sebagai kearian lokal dalam proses pendidikan di Jayapura. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: Pertama, pemahaman terhadap noken ternyata bukan sekadar sebagai karya peradaban material saja dalam wujud tas yang berfungsi sebagai pembawa barang. Kandungan nilai dalam noken itu beririsan dengan pemahaman pendidikan dan kebudayaan berparadigma konstruktivistik. Kedua, proses sosialisasi noken sebagai filosofi secara integratif telah dilakukan dalam lembaga sekolahan, bukan saja bagaimana cara membuat noken sebagai karya budaya material, tetapi juga mendiskusikan noken sebagai filosofi. Model sosialisasi pun menggunakan proses pembelajaran yang berparadigma konstruktivistik dengan menempatkan pebelajar sebagai subjek aktif dalam mengonstruksi dan memaknai noken sebagai kearifan lokal yang sarat dengan nilai-nilai filosofis melalui diskusi dan dialog. Itu semua menunjukkan bahwa proses sosialisasi noken sebagai filosofi bukanlah pembelajaran yang berpusat pada guru, tetapi pembelajaran berpusat pada siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the performance of agricultural extension workers in BPP Toware, Jayapura Regency, and the factors influencing their effectiveness. The research used a descriptive qualitative method, with in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation as the main research instruments. Data were collected through purposive sampling, involving agricultural extension workers and farmers as key informants. The data analysis employed thematic analysis, including data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that although extension workers play a critical role in farmer empowerment, their performance is hindered by several challenges, such as insufficient facilities, low welfare levels, and inadequate training. Another significant factor affecting performance is the varied educational background, with a dominance of high school graduates among contract workers, limiting their technical competency. Consequently, the performance of extension workers in fostering behavioral change towards sustainable agricultural development remains suboptimal.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the integration between non-formal education provided by Community Learning Activity Centers (PKBM) and vocational education in Vocational High Schools (SMK) in improving literacy levels and life skills of marginalized communities in Jayawijaya. The research methods used include a systematic literature review and field studies, and involve various stakeholders, including local governments and local communities. The results show that the integration of PKBM and SMK significantly contributes to improving basic literacy and life skills, especially in agriculture and handicrafts, which are relevant to local economic needs. In addition, this education program is able to overcome the limitations of access to formal education in remote areas. Policy implications emphasize the importance of cross-sector collaboration and improving education infrastructure in supporting the sustainability of this program. This study provides recommendations for the development of more adaptive education policies in other remote areas in Indonesia.

Abstract

Education for remote indigenous communities in Papua faces complex challenges such as geographical barriers, limited infrastructure, and cultural differences. This study uses a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to analyze the application of RE Park's social ecology theory in Papua’s education, which views human-environment interaction as the basis for contextual education. Findings indicate that appropriate education for indigenous Papuan communities should integrate local knowledge, cultural values, and ecosystem relationships into the curriculum. This approach not only supports students' practical skills but also strengthens the cultural identity and socio-ecological resilience of communities in the face of environmental changes. Additionally, social ecology-based education can promote social justice and reduce the marginalization of indigenous communities in Papua. This study highlights the importance of a social ecology-based education approach that adapts to the socio-cultural context to enhance inclusiveness and relevance in education for remote indigenous communities.

Abstract

Secara bahasa, ongko bermakna taro-taro (simpanan) atau klaim kepemilikan atas sesuatu (sumberdaya). Ongko juga biasa disebut dengan pakkorong-korongang, suatu istilah yang bermakna bahwa dengan ongko yang eksis dan sustain, maka asap dapur bisa mengepul. Kearifan lokal ongko merupakan suatu pengetahuan pengelolaan sumberdaya alam berbasis kekerabatan yang secara turun temurun telah digunakan oleh masyarakat pesisir Kepulauan Selayar Sulawesi Selatan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang dilaksanakan di enam kecamatan daratan Kepulauan Selayar. Penelitian ini menggunakan data hasil studi literatur, wawancara, dan observasi. Sedangkan sifat penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif yang bertujuan memberikan gambaran secara rinci dan jelas tentang permasalahan yang diteliti. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kearifan lokal ongko masih dipraktekkan oleh masyarakat pesisir Kepulauan Selayar serta memiliki persyaratan-persyaratan untuk bisa memenuhi pengelolaan sumberdaya pesisir yang berkelanjutan. Hanya saja untuk memaksimalkan upaya pemenuhan tersebut, perlu dilakukan serangkaian langkah, antara lain: memberikan penguatan agar ongko yang merupakan klaim perseorangan ataupun kelompok kekerabatan terbatas, ditingkatkan menjadi klaim pengelolaan bersama serta memperkuat kelembagaan pengelola ongko sehingga ada pengaturan waktu penangkapan dan penggunaan alat tangkap.

Abstract

The Papua Penuh Damai Foundation (PAPEDA) is a social service institution that focuses on community empowerment activities and plays a vital role in the strategy of reaching indigenous communities. The community service activities aim to improve the competence of PAPEDA Foundation administrators in providing services to the Yaur Tribe through empowerment activities for Remote Indigenous Communities (KAT) in Nabire Regency, Central Papua Province. The methods used in this activity include interactive lectures, group discussions, and hands-on practice. This activity is carried out systematically through a flow of activities including preparation, implementation, and closing. The results of the activity show an increase in knowledge and skills in understanding the flow of empowerment planning activities through the preparation stages, namely social mapping, initial assessment, feasibility studies, workshops, planning programs, and community empowerment. Thus, the technical guidance activity is a tactical step in strengthening the institutional role of the foundation and addressing the challenges of KAT empowerment.

Abstract

Literatur akademik saat ini yang dapat digunakan oleh mahasiswa-mahasiswa bukan hanya literatur akademik berbentuk buku. Literatur akademik secara online dapat digunakan oleh mahasiswa-mahasiswa dalam melakukan tugas perkuliahan, seminar proposal bahkan skripsi. Terdapat sejumlah keuntungan dengan menelusuri literatur akademik secara online ini. Sejumlah keuntungan tersebut antara lain adalah penghematan waktu, biaya, ruang serta literatur akademik yang digunakan bersifat kekinian. Penggunaan literatur akademik secara online harus juga disertai pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam mencari dan menelusuri topik dan informasi yang diinginkan. Pengetahuan dan keterampilan inilah yang diberikan dan dilatih bagi dua puluh peserta kegiatan penelusuran literatur akademik secara online. Para peserta kegiatan penelusuran literatur akademik secara online berasal dari Program Studi Kesejahteraan Sosial Jurusan Sosiologi FISIP Universitas Cenderawasih Papua. Keduapuluh peserta kegiatan ini diajarkan dasar penelusuran literatur, manfaat penelusuran literatur, serta teknik dalam penelusuran literatur akademik secara online. Keduapuluh peserta ini juga dilatih dalam penelusuran literatur akademik secara online, diberikan penugasan serta dilatih teknik-teknik penelusuran literatur akademik secara online. Sesi pertama kegiatan pelatihan ini dilakukan di ruang kuliah Program Studi Kesejahteraan Sosial Jurusan Sosiologi FISIP Universitas Cenderawasih Papua. Sesi kedua kegiatan pelatihan ini dilakukan di ruang praktek komputer UPT Pusat Komputer Universitas Cenderawasih Papua. Dengan mengikuti kegiatan pelatihan penelusuran literatur akademik secara online ini mahasiswa-mahasiswi peserta kegiatan mendapatkan sebagian pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam menelusuri literatur akademik yang diinginkan secara online.
