Abstract

Based on case studies that have been conducted in SMK Pertanian Pembangunan Negeri Lembang, waste treatment subjects still used a conventional method, and the students were less enthusiastic in the learning process. Therefore, the implementation of more interactive learning models such as blended learning with Edmodo is one of alternative models to resolve the issue thus the purpose of this study is to formulate the appropriate learning syntax for the implementation of blended learning with Edmodo to agree the requirement characteristics of students and waste treatment subject and explain the learning outcome obtained by students in the cognitive, affective and psychometric aspects on the subjects of waste treatment. This study was conducted by the method of classroom action research (CAR) with a Mc. Tagart model. The results of this study concluded that the implementation of blended learning with Edmodo on the subjects of waste treatment can improve the students’ learning outcomes in the cognitive, affective and psychometric aspects with the maximum increase in the value of N-gain 0.82, as well as students’ learning completeness criteria reached 100% in cycle 2. The formulation of the appropriate learning syntax for the blended learning model implementation with Edmodo in the waste treatment subject are (1) Self-paced learning, (2) Group networking, (3) Live Event-collaboration, (4) Association- communication, (5) Assessment-Performance material supports

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology (ICT) in the era of globalization has had a major influence in all aspects of life, including in the world of education. In the development of information and communication technology, Android-based learning media was developed as a means of learning for students. The limited number of books that can be used by students and in conditions like now where the learning process is carried out online requires learning media that can be used and accessed easily by students. The objectives of this study are: (1) developing android-based learning media, (2) understanding the feasibility of android-based learning media, and (3) evaluating the digital literacy of students by using android-based learning media as a learning resource. The development of this android-based learning media uses a research and development model with stages including identification of potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, small-scale trials, product revisions, large-scale trials, and product revision. The results of this study indicate that the learning media developed was found "Decent" by material experts, media experts and linguists and students stated "Very Decent" to be used as learning media in the subject of Plantation and Herbal Commodity Processing Production. Furthermore, the learning media is applied in learning by using One Shot Case Study. Based on the results obtained, the digital literacy that students have is already in the "Very High" category for the aspect of using. As for the understanding aspect, the indicators of analyzing and creating are in the “High” category and the indicators for reflecting and acting are in the “Very High” category

Abstract

Turmeric spent availability is high due to the increasing production of turmeric herb drinks. However, turmeric spent utilization is low, although it still contains phenolic compounds and antioxidant capacity. This study aims to investigate the effect of fermentation on the physicochemical characteristics of turmeric spent. Ragi tape is used as a starter since it contains various microorganisms. The community of microorganisms in the ragi could inhibit the growth of unwanted microorganisms, thus preventing contamination. Physicochemical characteristics, namely water-holding capacity, swelling capacity, oil-holding capacity, glucose content, crude fiber content, total phenol content, and antioxidant capacity, were observed from non-fermented and fermented turmeric spent. The results show that the duration of fermentation does not affect the physicochemical properties, total phenolic content, antioxidant capacity, and reducing sugars content. Ragi tape contains low concentrations of A. oryzae. Moreover, ragi tape is a consortium of microorganisms consisting of fungi, yeast, and lactic acid bacteria, so further study is needed to investigate the interaction between microorganisms and metabolite production

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menunjukkan pilihan diet vegetarian dan vegan atas dasar kepedulian pada lingkungan Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui pengaruh pola hidup vegaan terhadap lingkungan. Metode: Metodologi penelitian kualitatif deskriptif digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Data utama yang dikumpulkan melalui survei dikirim ke responden melalui Google Form. Kuesioner terbuka dan tertutup dengan balasan. Didapatkan 35 yang menanggapi survei online yang kami sediakan. Data yang diperoleh kemudian diproses dengan cara berikut, secara bertahap yaitu tabulasi data, analisis dan deskripsi data, serta pembahasan. Hasil: Sebagian responden sudah mengenal apa itu pola hidup vegan. Namun, sebagian besar dari mereka sama sekali belum pernah mencoba menerapkan pola hidup vegan. Hanya 10 dari 35 responden yang pernah mencoba pola hidup vegan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pola hidup vegan mempengaruhi lingkungan dan berdampak positif bagi lingkungan Kesimpulan: Pola hidup vegan terbukti berpengaruh positif terhadap lingkungan karena lebih ramah lingkungan.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Roti mudah terkontaminasi oleh mikroorganisme karena terdapat pati yang relatif tinggi sehingga gula sederhana menghidrolisis pati dan menjadi sumber makanan mikroorganisme seperti jamur. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui perbandingan jumlah total koloni mikroba pada roti tawar dan roti gandum. Metode: Metode yang digunakan yaitu eksperimental yang dilakukan di Laboratorium Pengawas Mutu FPTK UPI. Data yang diperoleh berasal dari percobaan yaitu penghitungan total plate count. Perlakuan ini digunakan pada sampel roti tawar dan roti gandum dengan masa simpan 3 hari sebelum kadarluarsa. Bahan bahan yang digunakan antara lain alkohol, NaCl fisiologis, aquades, dan media PDA. Sedangkan alat-alat yang digunakan yaitu petri dish, bunsen, botol semprot, tip, tabung reaksi, spreader, mikropipet, autoclave, oven, inkubator, gelas ukur, rak tabung, dan timbangan analitik. Pada roti tawar dan roti gandum utuh menghasilkan jamur Aspergillus Niger, total kapang yang dihasilkan pada roti tawar adalah 11,4 × 102, dan pada roti gandum utuh adalah 19,15 × 102. Kesimpulan: Apabila dilihat berdasarkan SNI 7388-2009, standar Angka Kapang Khamir (AKK) pada roti yaitu maksimum 1×104 koloni/g. Dapat dibuktikan  kelayakan roti untuk dikonsumsi karena angka yang didapatkan masih dibawah standar SNI tersebut.

Abstract

Indonesia has the advantage of developing the agricultural industry,cattle farming is one of the growing fields of animal husbandry in Indonesia. The most product from cattle farming is milk. In 2020, according to BPS ( Central Bureau of Statistics ), Indonesian people consumed milk still around 16.27 liters per capita per year. Dairy products released by the livestock industry and the people who consume them are still relatively low. Therefore,the purpose of this study is to analyze the causes of the low nutritional value of milk as a supporter of a healthy lifestyle in generation Z. The data were collected using a questionnaire and alnalyzed with a qualitative approach, as well as distributing questionnaires online using Google Froms and obtained 112 Generation Z respondents. Nutritional education may be a factor influencing milk consumption in Generation Z. The benefits and milk allergy. The result of the analysis prove that education about the nutritional value of milk, the price of milk and milk allergies affect Generation Z’milk consumption. While the factor that has no effect is milk variants. From the results of the analysis,it can be concluded that the internal factors that influence are individual habits in consuming milk. While the external factor that influences is the selling price of milk.

Abstract

Onion skin is often a problem of waste in households because of the low level of public understanding of how to utilize onion skin waste. Onion skin waste can be used as a mixed fertilizer that can accelerate plant growth because it contains compounds and substances that provide fertility. In addition to liquid fertilizer, there is manure that can be used in the process of plant growth to replace inorganic fertilizers. This study aims to determine the comparison of the effectiveness between shallot skin fertilizer and manure on leek plants. Onion (Allium fistulosum L.) is a vegetable commodity that has high economic value. The research method used is experimentation which is a method in quantitative research by examining cause and effect and comparing the results of each component. The parameters observed were plant height and the number of leaves that grew on the leek plants. The results of this study indicate that the difference in effectiveness between liquid onion skin fertilizer and manure has a significant effect on leek plants.

Abstract

Indonesia is an agricultural country with one of its sub-sectors being plantations and coffee being one type of plantation crop that has long been cultivated. This has resulted in a high culture of drinking coffee resulting in an increase in coffee grounds. There are still many coffee shops/cafes that throw away coffee grounds, even though coffee grounds can still be utilized, one of which is as an organic face mask. Coffee grounds contain antioxidants that can maintain skin health, moisturize and smooth the skin. The purpose of this study is to utilize coffee grounds and reduce environmental pollution which causes the greenhouse effect and to find out how many people like organic face masks from coffee grounds and rice flour. In this study, the face mask was made with a formulation of 50% coffee grounds and 50% rice flour. The test parameters in this study are organoleptic tests of aroma, color, texture, liking, pH test and effectiveness test. The results showed an average pH value of 5.0. The average color organoleptic test was 2.52, texture 2.88, aroma 3.32 and average liking 3.2. The drying time of the mask is 15 minutes. This coffee grounds face mask is well accepted by panelists.

Abstract

Indonesia mempunyai keunggulan dalam mengembangkan industri pertanian, peternakan sapi merupakan salah satu bidang peternakan yang berkembang di Indonesia. Produk terbanyak dari hasil peternakan sapi adalah susu. Pada tahun 2020, menurut BPS (Badan Pusat Statistik) masyarakat Indonesia dalam mengonsumsi susu masih berkisar 16,27 liter per kapita per tahun. Produk susu yang dikeluarkan oleh industri peternakan dan masyarakat yang mengonsumsinya masih tergolong rendah. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk menganalisis penyebab rendahnya nilai gizi susu sebagai pendukung gaya hidup sehat pada generasi Z. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan kuesioner dan dianalisis dengan pendekatan kualitatif, serta penyebaran kuesioner secara online menggunakan Google Forms dan diperoleh 112responden Generasi Z. Pendidikan gizi mungkin merupakan faktor yang mempengaruhi konsumsi susu pada Generasi Z. Manfaat susu, harga jual susu dan alergi susu. Hasil analisis membuktikan bahwa edukasi tentang nilai gizi susu, harga susu dan alergi susu berpengaruh terhadap konsumsi susu Generasi Z.Sedangkan faktor yang tidak berpengaruh adalah varian susu. Dari hasil analisis dapat disimpulkan bahwa faktor dari dalam yang mempengaruhi yaitu kebiasaan individu dalam mengonsumsi susu. Sedangkan faktordari luar yang mempengaruhi yaitu harga jual susu.

Abstract

Abstract— The consumption of kombucha has been increasing in recent years due to its health benefits. However, its strong and distinctive flavor can be a limiting factor for consumer acceptance. Therefore, producing kombucha beads through spherification provides an alternative method of consuming kombucha. This study investigated the effect of sodium alginate (SA) concentration on the release of total phenolic content, reducing sugar, and antioxidant capacity from kombucha beads. Additionally, the stability of kombucha beads in simulated gastric juice was investigated in terms of viable bacteria.  The microstructure of kombucha beads was investigated using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). The result showed that kombucha beads produced tear-shaped beads. Increasing the concentration of sodium alginate led to an increase in the size and hardness of the kombucha beads (P < 0.05). However, increasing the concentration of sodium alginate did not affect the release of total phenolic content, reducing sugar and antioxidant capacity (P ≥ 0.05). Interestingly, 1% SA-kombucha beads had the highest viability of bacteria (P < 0.05) after low pH simulation compared to 2% to 5% SA-kombucha beads. SEM analysis revealed that kombucha beads had cavities and deposits of NaCl at 2% and higher concentrations of sodium alginate. While the FTIR spectra showed that no new peaks were generated in the kombucha beads, stretching peaks were observed at 3000-3500 cm-1. This study highlighted the potential of alginate beads for encapsulating polyphenolic compounds as an innovative approach for food applications. Further study is needed to understand the release behavior of probiotic microorganisms in kombucha during digestion.
