Abstract

Modern humans are human beings who are slaves to material things, are materialistic, hedonistic and want to overpower all aspects of life. Modern humans are also humans who deny the voice of conscience and the call of human nature. As a result, they suffer from multidimensional diseases such as excessive anxiety, life feels meaningless, suffers from isolation from themselves, from their social environment and from their God. To save such a situation, an Islamic intellectual figure, Seyyed Hosein Nasr, offers the concept of a perfect human being Islamically by returning to the nature that has been bestowed by Allah, namely integrating the three elements that have been possessed, body, mind and soul.

Abstract

The development of the times and technology has changed the human perspective on spiritual values. This sometimes causes the presence of various flavors in the human soul. Be it peace, happiness or otherwise a sense of anxiety, discomfort, and sadness, all of which lead to the human heart, Allah gives ease to His servants in following the path of goodness and turns them away from badness and evil. Paying attention to things that can cleanse the soul and soften the heart so that it is always obedient to the shari'ah of Allah, is one of the greatest factors of goodness in this world and in the hereafter. Desire and equanimity can only be achieved if he reaches Allah. As for achieving it, a healthy and clean heart is needed, because the estuary of happiness and misery is the heart. The heart will only feel happy with sincerity to Allah. The heart will feel calm with remembrance and obey Allah. The way to achieve happiness and peace of mind is to pay attention, improve, and treat heart diseases so that they always obey His Rabb. The lucky person is the one who gets Allah's ressistance and the lowly and despicable is the one who is hindered from Allah's help. How to get happiness, serenity, help and guidance from Allah? This is what will be discussed in this study. In this study, we discuss how to achieve peace of mind through tazkiyat an-Nafs (purification of the heart or soul). Tazkiyat an-Nafs itself is an attempt to filter out the bad and dirty things from the soul, so that what comes out of the soul is the good one. Tazkiyat an-Nafs is done by following the Apostle who oversees guiding his people through the verses of Allah, through worship through the Shari'a way.

Abstract

As agents of change, millennial must be able to adapt to new situations and overcome challenges with negative effects. Moral education has helped millennial adopt moderate religious values. Therefore, this study examined aqeedah, moral, and religious moderation education of millennial. Data was collected through systematic, transparent, and reproducible literature reviews, which were used to discover, analyze and synthesize varied studies. A connected paper platform facilitated exploring different literature and identifying keyword-related literature. Descriptive analytics were used to analyze and summarize the data. The result showed that moral aqeedah education must be used to teach millennial age strong values, tolerance, and peace to achieve religious moderation. Furthermore, home, school, and community moral education must start with aqeedah to teach them religious moderation.

Abstract

According to Presidential Instruction No. 1 of 1991 concerning the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI) Articles 96 and 97 on the division of joint property, each person in a marriage that dissolves due to divorce or death is entitled to half of the property that is joint property. However, the legal circumstances presented in Payakumbuh Religious Court's Decision No. 657/Pdt.G/2022/PA Pyk did not follow the KHI and gave the plaintiff (the husband) a portion of ¼ and the defendant (the wife) a share of ¾ of the joint property. Therefore, the goal of the analysis presented in this article is to respond to the judge's ratio decidendi when it comes to joint property that are unrelated to the KHI. Then, a more thorough explanation of progressive law as a method of legal change in the realm of community property is provided. The research approach employed in this paper is the normative legal method. The investigation's findings demonstrate that the judge's reasoning is predicated on the idea that the wife's inherited assets, rather than the husband's income from their marriage, constitute the joint property at issue in the proceedings. In terms of income, living expenses, or child-education expenses, the plaintiff was unable to demonstrate how much he contributed to the defendant's household during their time together. The plaintiff could not provide sufficient evidence to support his claim that he could afford to buy the property, house, and four-wheeled vehicle that are at issue. According to the judge's ruling, progressive law satisfies societal legal requirements. The judge's ruling about the contribution of joint assets served as a legal justification for not dividing joint assets in half, based on the facts of the case

Abstract

This paper discusses the renewal of Islam by Paderi in Minangkabau’s community, west Sumatera, Indonesia. Seventy years after the Paderi movement stopped because young scholars known as the Youth Generation (YG) continued Dutch colonial pressure with original models and characteristics. To delve into this problem, a historical research method was required to test and analyze the vital records and relics of the yesteryear. This research is qualitative. The research and discussion found: first, the reform in Islam consisted of 2 indicators, namely (1) the returns of Islamic purity to the guidance of the Qur'an and Hadiths, and (2) modernization as a representation of the youth movement. Second, the violence by the Paderi was inappropriate if related to Minangkabau’s cultures which were tolerant and familial. The first Islamization process in Minangkabau was also never penetrated by a power of politics such as war. Third, the conflict had triggered a vivacious and dynamic religious discourse. We could see this from many meetings and debates held both during the Paderi and during Youth Generation. Besides, various schools had appeared, publishing books and magazines from each generation to socialize and make a struggle for religious understanding.

Abstract

Hamzah Fansuri was a Sufi figure, writer and Mufti in the Sultanate of Aceh Darussalam during the time of Sultan Alaudin Riayat Syah (1596-1604). The controversy about his thoughts is one of the reasons for the interest in this article. The interesting thing about his thoughts is about wahdatul wujud. At first glance, this thought is normal, but the interesting thing is the understanding that was developed in the process of Islamization in the archipelago when the two schools of Sufism, Sunni and Shia, met. Therefore, this article will discover this side of the controversy and of course its influence on the development of Sufism in Indonesia. Data obtained from library research. The data analysis technique was carried out using qualitative analysis techniques in a deductive manner. The results of this study show that the controversy over Hamzah Fansuri's thoughts about Wahdatul wujud is a Sufi concept that was influenced by the thoughts of previous Sufi figures such as Ibn Arabi and Al-Qunawi. Its influence on the development of Sufism in Indonesia lies in the understanding of Wahdatul Wujud, understood as a single form which is the ultimate reality. Being other than Allah are shadows or manifestations of a single being. Hamzah Fansuri understands that the essence of existence is only one, namely Allah SWT and everything is explained in metaphorical language.

Abstract

This research describes the nature of science and knowledge in the study of the philosophy of science. Philosophy of science involves search and exploration in the development of philosophical concepts about knowledge. Scientific knowledge manifests itself through various interrelated dimensions. Philosophy is a human thinking activity that aims to find the causes of everything and to understand how humans act after gaining this knowledge. This research uses the Library Research method. Literature study is a study used to collect information and data. The results of scientific research are knowledge that is rational, systematic, comprehensive, consistent and general. Knowledge, on the other hand, is the totality of all knowledge that is not yet well organized, both in metaphysical and physical terms. Knowledge tends to be general information based on experience and habits, without specific methods and mechanisms.

Abstract

AbstractThe study aims to investigate the knowledge of junior high school students on Islamic religious education materials and the social awareness of the Minangkabau religious social activist community. The subject matter of Islamic education is al-Quran, al-Hadith, al-Tarikh, al-Fiqh, al-Akhlaq, al-Aqidah and Arabic language. The research method is community based research. The general steps of the CBR are cycles in four stages, namely, laying the foundation, planning, gathering/analyzing information and action to finding. This study involves junior high school students and the community of Minangkabau religious social activist. This study found that these students have poor Islamic religious knowledge in seven materials. The Minangkabau religious social activists have a high social awareness when activities strengthen formal education with Islamic non-formal education is carried out. The study also provides recommendations on the need for further on finding action for the development of madrasah diniyah takmilyah wustha (MDTW) by exploring Minangkabau values. The findings of this study have implied that this research is an effort that can be done to stop the “silent or slow running phase” of the Minangkabau (surau) mosque and madrasa. This study has also reaffirms that Minangkabau surau and madrasah are not lost or will be lost in Minangkabau, West Sumatra Indonesia.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki pengetahuan siswa SMP pada materi pendidikan agama Islam dan kesadaran sosial dari komunitas aktivis sosial religius minangkabau. Subyek pendidikan Islam adalah materi al-Quran, al-Hadits, al-Tarikh, al-Fiqh, al-Akhlaq, al-Aqidah dan bahasa Arab. Metode penelitian adalah penelitian berbasis komunitas (community based research). Abstract

This research is aimed to analyze K.H. Aceng Zakaria's thought of Islamic education which is focused on his educational practice to the Organization of Persatuan Islam (Persis) from 1975 to 2006. It's very interesting to study K.H. Aceng Zakaria's thought. At least, there are two reasons: firstly, there wasn't research which raised the aspect of Persatuan Islam's ‘ulama, especially in thought of educational domain, especially from the third generation. Secondly, K.H. Aceng Zakaria is known as an ulama’s of Persis who gives a lot of contribution in education not only the book but also his creativity to hold any alternative educational forum in term of providing people's interest to learn Islamic knowledge. As one of Persis's ulama, his religiosity's thought as same as other Persis ulama identical with purification idea which features as well as Salafi or salafiyyah movement. Based on this study shows, this movement often adhered to the number of stigmatizations, such as rigidity, radical attitude, and some of the similar stigma. The assumption justified when reading a book written by Tsaqil bin Shalfiq al-Qasimi entitled "Rooting out Ahlul Ahwa and Bid'ah". It's the difference from the stigmatizations, through this research, the writer concludes that the consistency of returning Islamic practice to al-Quran and al-Sunnah tends to push progressive attitude. It's proven through educational views of K.H. Aceng Zakaria which focused into an educational book written by K.H. Aceng Zakaria entitled "Zad al-Muta'allim", and his educational practice since he has decided to dedicate his life to the Persis.
