Abstract

Biomass energy sources have several advantages, such as being used as a renewable energy source so that the energy source from biomass can provide a sustainable energy source. One of the first steps to determine the potential of energy resources that can be developed into renewable energy sources is by collecting data. The data collection carried out in this study focuses more on the biomass found in Balikpapan. The biomass potential in Balikpapan needs to be known by collecting and classifying the biomass data based on products from agriculture and plantations. The data that has been collected from secondary data and from surveys are then mapped to see the greatest biomass potential found in Balikpapan. The largest percentage of crop yields per year is found in North Balikpapan Subdistrict, which is 31% compared to five other sub-districts. The potential of biomass from Balikpapan City's natural resources, which the greatest amount of harvest, is the cassava food plant in North Balikpapan sub-district of 7,259 tons / year. In the type of fruit, snakefruit (salak) has the highest number of yields per year, which is about32,945 tons / year. The potential for waste from food plants, cassava waste originating from tree trunks, is 5,807.2 tons / year, and cassava skin is 1,088.8 tons / year

Abstract

Artikel ini menjelaskan gambaran secara umum perkembangan remaja yang berkaitan dengan ciri-ciri remaja itu sendiri. Remaja merupakan tahap perkembangan manusia yang banyak terjadi kegoncangan karna merupakan masa transisi dari anak-anak menuju dewasa. Perilaku konsumtif termasuk dalam perilaku yang rawan dialami oleh remaja adanya faktor pengaruh sehingga perilaku ini terbentuk dalam diri remaja. Perilaku konsumtif juga memiliki karakteristik dan aspek pendukung sehingga menjadi kebiasaan yang dilakukan remaja.

Abstract

Distance learning or what we usually know as e-learning. E-learning is a learning process using computer technology and computer networks or what we commonly know as the internet. E-learning is used by students to learn through computers. As we know, electronic-based learning is a new technique in terms of the teaching and learning process. This study aims to describe the use of e-learning-based learning media using the kahoot platform in Arabic language learning in class XI.A MA Assulami, Langko, Lingsar. This application works by means of game-based learning or can be called by. The intention is to involve more active participation between students and educators through ongoing learning competitions. The data collection technique used is observation by teaching students in the school. With this platform, learning becomes more interactive which will make teaching and learning activities more fun and certainly will not make the classroom atmosphere saturated when the teaching and learning process takes place.

Abstract

PT Kaltim Parna Industri is a business entity engaged in the petrochemical industry which has the potential to produce hazardous and toxic waste (B3). This study aims to determine the type, mapping, and handling of hazardous and toxic waste (B3). The research method is by conducting a literature study and collecting existing data in the form of documents from companies and documentation. Based on the results of identification of the types, mapping, and handling of hazardous and toxic waste at PT Kaltim Parna Industri, it can be concluded that there are types of B3 waste generated from specific sources, and non-specific sources belonging to category 1 and category 2. The waste generated comes from activities in the process and utility areas. The handling that has been carried out when there is a potential for liquid B3 waste spills is by providing spill kits in the form of universal spill kits and chemical spill kits. Meanwhile, solid B3 waste can be disposed of in a special B3 waste bin that has been provided in the factory field area or directly to the B3 waste TPS.

Abstract

Community service activities with the theme of teacher empowerment through training on literacy-based electronic teaching materials as an effort to foster a paperless culture in the Apala Village, Bone Regency, were held on May 20, 2023, located at Barebbo 1 Public Middle School. The main problem with partner schools in learning is the use of digital literacy, while literacy learning activities in schools are urgently needed nowadays. To make this happen, human resources who are technologically literate are needed, while there are still some teachers who experience difficulties in preparing digital-based teaching materials. This community service activity aims to provide solutions to overcome problems experienced by partner schools through training and mentoring for teachers using the FlipBuilder software so that teachers are able to create innovative and fun learning. The results of the evaluation conducted for teachers found that 76% of the responses agreed with this training and could assist teachers in preparing interesting learning tools so as to create a fun learning atmosphere as well.

Abstract

Souvenirs have an important role in supporting regional economic development, souvenirs can also function as an important symbol of identity and culture because they can contribute to the preservation and promotion of local traditional heritage. But on the other hand, the souvenir industry also has the potential to damage the environment. Therefore, it is important to ensure that souvenir production and consumption practices use sustainable principles. The increasing level of deforestation and forest degradation in East Kalimantan due to IKN development needs to be balanced with green innovation. One of them is exploring renewable materials as raw materials for superior regional products. Indonesia has an abundance of empty oil palm fruit bunches (EFB), for every 1 ton of palm oil there is 23% or 230 kg of EFB waste. With its quality and uniqueness, this EFB biocomposite material is suitable as the basic material for sustainable tourism souvenirs as an Indonesian identity. This research aims to develop sustainable tourist souvenir designs made from EFB waste as one of the branding of IKN souvenirs for the international market. The identification in this research used the Design-driven Material Innovation (DDMI) method. DDMI is a product design design model that starts from material development from understanding material characteristics, and creating product lines, to communicating the uniqueness of materials to the market. This research produces designs and prototypes of tea sets as sustainable tourist souvenir products that are ready to be made on an industrial scale. Tea sets are often used as souvenirs in state agendas because they reflect a country's cultural identity and diplomatic status, as well as a way to strengthen relations between countries through appreciation and respect. This aligns with one of the goals to support the branding of the IKN as the greenest capital city in the world.

Abstract

Groundwater well is the alternative well providing water source in the city of Balikpapan, especially in its sub-district of Karang Joang, North Balikpapan, where the location has not been fully integrated with PDAM water pipes. Normally, the groundwater has minerals including iron (Fe). For the drinking water, the concentration standard of Fe follows the national law of Permenkes No. 493/Menkes/Per/IV/2010 which is 0,3 mg/L as the threshold. Oil palm frond is an organic matter that is found easily in East Kalimantan, containing high levels of lignin and cellulose which used to produce activated carbon. The activated carbon was evaluated with five variant doses of 5; 10; 15; 20; and 25 g/L over groundwater and the contact time of 30; 45; 60; 75; and 90 minutes. The time contact was measured by the rotation of the stirrer with the speed of 100 rpm. The results showed the optimum time contact of 30 minutes with the adsorbent dose of 5 g/L with the elimination efficiency of 99,56%. Abstract

Era society 5.0 menuntut siswa untuk memiliki kecakapan abad-21 salah satunya adalah keterampilan metakognitif. Observasi awal menunjukkan bahwa metakognitif siswa tergolong minim karena kurang memiliki kepercayaan diri, sulit mengkomunikasikan ide dan kurang memahami konsep materi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk berupa model pembelajaran QOGAE berbantuan media edumation yang valid, praktis, dan efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan metakognitif siswa. Jenis penelitian mengacu pada Research and Development dengan menggunakan model pengembangan Plomp. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa XI 2 dan XI 5 SMA Negeri 13 Makassar yang masing-masing berjumlah 36 orang. Instrumen penilaian yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi keterlaksanaan model, aktivitas guru, sikap siswa dan lembar angket MAI (Metacognitive Awareness Inventory). Adapun data di analisis menggunakan uji N-gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran QOGAE (Questioning, Organizing, Guide, Assess and Evaluate) efektif untuk diterapkan dalam proses pembelajaran. Rata-rata N-gain kelas XI 2 sebesar 0,73 dan XI 5 sebesar 0,72 sehingga terbukti efektif meningkatkan keterampilan metakognitif siswa.

Abstract

Sentra Industri Kecil Somber (SIKS) produces sludge waste from the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). Sludge can be utilized as a renewable energy source, for example by processing it into briquettes. This research uses a mixture of cassava peel biomass to increase the calorific value of briquettes and uses tapioca starch adhesive. The purpose of this research is to analyze the characteristics of briquettes produced by WWTP sludge with a mixture of cassava peel and analyze the optimum composition variation of WWTP sludge and cassava peel waste on briquette characteristics with the composition of WWTP sludge, cassava peel, and adhesive of (10:83:7); (15:78:7); (20:73:7); (25:68:7); (30:63:7). The parameters tested are moisture content, ash content, volatile matter, fixed carbon and calorific value based on ASTM, after which data processing is carried out with the help of software, namely graphs with Sigma Plot and Microsoft Excel software to facilitate and minimize errors or human errors. The water content of briquettes A, B, C, D, E was 4.2%, 4.8%, 5.4%, 5.7%, 5.9%. Ash content 12.8%, 13.7%, 14.5%, 15.6%, 16.8%. Volatile matter 12.2%, 14.3%, 15.2%, 15.9%, 16.2%. Fixed Carbon 70.8%, 67.2%, 64.9%, 62.8%, 61.1%. Calorific value 3301.04 cal/gr, 3245.2 cal/gr, 3223.36 cal/gr, 3187.54 cal/gr, 3172.98 cal/gr. The optimum briquette characteristics that meet SNI 6235-2000 are briquette A with a moisture content of 4.2%, volatile matter of 10.2% and those that are close to SNI 6235-2000 are ash content parameters of 12.8%, fixed carbon of 70.8% and calorific value of 3301.04 cal/gr.

Abstract

Abiotic stress is an environmental condition that is unfavorable for plants such as drought, salinity, heavy metal contamination and nutrient deficiencies. Prolonged abiotic stress causes the stability of plant cell organelles to be disrupted, thereby inhibiting plant growth and development. This research aims to examine the role of membrane transport in responding to environmental stress, especially abiotic stress, and the implications for plant growth and development. The research method used was a literature study using meta-analysis techniques assisted by prism diagrams in analyzing 14 relevant scientific articles from various national and international journals. The analysis was carried out descriptively on the results of previous research. The results show membrane transport has a role in increasing plant resistance to abiotic stress. Cell membrane structure consisting of lipids, proteins and carbohydrates has been proven to increase plant safety from environmental stress. So it can be concluded that membrane transport has a role in mediating tolerance, resistance, and resolving plant stress conditions through maintaining cellular homeostasis. Implications of this research can help expand knowledge about how plants respond to unfavorable environmental conditions through membrane transport mechanisms and can be basis for developing plant varieties are resistant to various forms of environmental abiotic stress.
