<![CDATA[This paper sets out to explore the theory on classroom instruction par-ticularly group discussion. It includes a short discussion of the benefits of group discussion as an activity to help engaging students in a lesson by encouraging spoken interactions. It also provides a guided discussion to apply in the class-room as the subject matter for students to learn to discuss more effectively. Hopefully the paper could provide educators and instructors a method to use and to lead further studies for helping students to increase their opportunities to have authentic communication in English. Moreover, this paper can also serve as a research reference in the field of classroom instruction, for instance in using group discussion to develop speaking skill.]]>

<![CDATA[This study was to find out the extent to which computer games is applicable and influenced classroom practices and students’ performance. The study recorded the implementation of computer games in order to find the improvement in the teaching learning process, including students’ improvement in vocabulary mastery. The data were gathered from classroom observations and interview. The analysis showed how computer games gave an improvement in teaching learning process. It provided opportunities to practice and use the language, as well as stimulating students’ interest to participate in the classroom activities. They made noticeable progress in their language learning while gaining confidence in vocabulary mastery. In short, this study showed that computer games promoted students active participation in the activities with more opportunities to practice and use the vocabularies which in turn increased their positive attitude for language learning]]>

<![CDATA[Publication of scientific paper becomes a common issue of Elementary School teachers because they should understand journal templates and ojs based journal system to submit an article. Team of STBA Pontianak held a community outreach to introduce kinds of scientific paper publication to all teachers in Pontianak City in the form of Seminar. This activity invited a certified teacher who have published many books and article journals. She motivated teachers to publish books. There was also a direct practice of identify OJS based journals. According to the evaluation, two materials of the activity were a new knowledge for almost all participants. In other words, they have not learned about the materials elsewhere before. It can be concluded that all participants need further practice in preparing their research paper, and in submitting it to the journal]]>

<![CDATA[This research aims to foster students' engagement through small group discussions. The focus is on implementing group discussion strategies on classroom performance and students' achievement. A qualitative design was used along with the observations and interviews, and enriched with a small group discussion teaching framework. The result showed that small group discussions positively contribute to students' involvement in the classroom, enhance critical thinking, and raise motivation. The activities provide opportunities to increase their upbeat view of learning English. Hopefully, the result can be a practical suggestion for lecturers or teachers to maximize the students' active participation in ELF classes.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aimed to determine the extent to which multimedia technology can be applied in the process of teaching and learning English and affect student performance. Data obtained from classroom observations and interviews. The analysis shows how the implementation of multimedia or educational applications provides an improvement in the teaching and learning process. The implementation of multimedia particularly educational applications in computer gives students the opportunity to practice using English, as well as increasing students' interest in participating in the classroom activities. In the process of integrating multimedia technologies, the development of the students' skills can be seen. In short, this study shows that the implementation of technology raises a positive impact on students in the learning process in the classroom.]]>

<![CDATA[This classroom action research aims to foster the EFL students’ oral communication skills in the English and English literature program in a presentation skills class through an individual presentation project. This research was conducted at the Sekolah Tinggi Bahasa Asing (STBA) Pontianak, whose participants were taken from the fourth-semester students. This research was carried out in three cycles using observation checklists and field notes to collect the data. Afterward, the data were explained quantitatively and qualitatively. The findings show that individual presentation concretely fosters the students’ oral communication skills in the third cycle. The fostering is proven by improving individual presentation aspects such as clarity, sound volume, body position and eye contact, pause, and listener’s attention. Moreover, the fostering is indicated by the changing of the scoring scale from need improvement to good. Hopefully, this research can contribute to advancing research in oral communication skills.]]>

<![CDATA[Background: Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini mengeksplorasi integrasi teknologi multimedia dalam pendidikan dasar untuk meningkatkan keterampilan instruksional guru dalam rangka meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa di dalam kelas. Metode: Melalui lokakarya satu hari yang dirancang untuk para guru, kami bertujuan untuk membekali para peserta dengan strategi praktis dalam memanfaatkan berbagai alat multimedia, seperti presentasi interaktif, video edukasi, dan sumber belajar dengan game edukasi dan platform lainnya. Hasil: Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa para guru yang berpartisipasi menunjukan peningkatan kepercayaan diri dan kemahiran dalam menggunakan multimedia, yang mengarah kepada pengaturan lingkungan kelas yang lebih dinamis dan menarik. Kesimpulan: Dari kegiatan ini, dapat digarisbawahi pentingnya pengembangan dan dukungan profesional yang berkelanjutan dalam mengoptimalkan penggunaan multimedia di pendidikan dasar, yang pada akhirnya mempromosikan pengalaman belajar yang lebih interaktif dan praktis.]]>
