Abstract

Abstract:This research was conducted to determine the composition and structure of riparian vegetation at Natural Tourism Park(TWA) ) Buluhcina designed the biodiversity concept module on class X biodiversity material in April 2019-July 2019.This research was carried out in 3 stages, namely the field of data collection, the laboratory activity and the module design stage, the first stage was carried out at 4 observation locations located in the Nature Tourism Park (TWA) BuluhcinaThe research data was collected using a sample map (plot) consisting of 3 plots. The second phase of laboratory activities consisted of identifying plants and making herbaria. The third stage is module design using the ADDIE development model. The riparian vegetation composition of TWA Buluhcina saplings strata consists of 37 individuals, 10 species and 9 tribes. The highest importance index was Litsea noronhae (81.6%), with a diversity index between 0.63-2.16. Strata pole consists of 56 individuals, 9 types and 8 tribes. The highest importance index is Sterculia gliva (69.7%), with a diversity index between 1.05-2.12. As for the tree level, it consists of 145 individuals, 14 species and 12 tribes. The highest importance index is Gluta renghas (66.46%), with an index of diversity between 1.05-2.01.The research location is arranged by a type of vegetation that is evenly distributed with a dominance index in the range of 0.1-0.4.The results of the study can be used as a source of module design for biodiversity material in class X SMAKeyWords: Composition of Species, Vegetation Structure, Module

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to be used as a source of information on the diversity of plankton species in danau raja. The study was conducted in Danau Raja, Indragiri Hulu Regency in April 2019. The parameters measured were biological parameters and physical chemical parameters of the waters. The research design is the stage of field data collection carried out with exploratory research, while the data collection is carried out using survey methods. This research was conducted in 4 stations with a purposive sampling technique. The method in this study consists of 2 stages, In the study of visual dictionary design using the Four-D model which consists of four stages, namely defining, designing, developing, and dissemination. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively.The results of this study showed that the composition of fitoplankton in danau raja was found in 5 classes, 20 species and 188 individuals. The most zooplankton compositions are Bosmina meridionalis and Diaphanosoma brachyuran with a proportion of 50%. The highest abundance of phytoplankton was found at station IV and the lowest was at station I. The highest phytoplankton diversity index was found at station IV and the lowest was at station I. The highest abundance of zooplankton was obtained at station III and station IV, while at station I and station II there were no zooplankton. The highest zooplankton diversity index was found at station III and station IV while at station I and station II no zooplankton was found.Key Words: Fitoplankton, Zooplankton, Purposive Sampling

Abstract

Abstrack: This study aims to determine the rate of leaf litter decomposition in the riparin ecosystem in Buluhcina and produce a learning module design based on a constructivism approach and concept map. This research was conducted on the riparian ecosystem in Buluhcina and in the Biology Education Laboratory of FKIP Riau University, in May-July 2019. This research was a descriptive study using survey methods. Site selection is done by purposive sampling. Where each research site consists of 3 research plots measuring 20x20 meters. Systematic sampling of litter bags is laid down. Litter bag collection is carried out 4 times every 15 days for 60 days of research. Litter was roasted for 48 hours with a temperature of 80º C. Measurement of environmental factors such as: soil temperature, soil moisture and soil pH was carried out simultaneously with the collection of litter bags. The results showed that the average rate of leaf litter decomposition in the three study sites in the riparian ecosystem in Buluhcina for 60 days of research experienced a rapid decomposition rate that ranged from 0.044 gr/day - 0.102 gr/day. Thus based on the needs of riparian forest ecosystems for organic matter to meet the nutrient supply in Buluhcina has reached the needs needed in maintaining the balance of riparian forest ecosystems in order to be well preserved.Key Words: Litter Decomposition Rate, Riparian Ecosystem in Buluhcina, Module

Abstract

Abstract: Research has been carried out to determine the types of mangrove plants and the zoning of mangrove vegetation in the Wisata Alam Bandar Bakau Dumai Area in October-December 2020. The results of the research on the diversity and zoning of mangrove vegetation in Bandar Bakau were integrated to design a media booklet on the concept of biodiversity related to the results of this study. The selection of locations was carried out using a purposive random sampling technique consisting of four stations. Each of the two transects with an observation plot of 20 x 20 meters. The parameters in this study are zoning based on the presence of mangroves, substrate texture and soil pH. The supporting parameters are the composition of the substrate fraction, salinity (water and substrate), pH (water and substrate) and DO. The results showed that the Wisata Alam Bandar Bakau Dumai Area contained 14 species, namely Avicennia alba, Avicennia lanata, Bruguiera sexangula, Bruguiera cylindrica, Bruguiera gymnorrhyza, Ceriops decandra, Heritiera littoralis, Lumnitzera littorea, Lumnitzera racemosa, Nypa fruticans, Rhizophora apiculata, Scyphiphora hydrophyllacea, Sonneratia alba, and Xylocarpus granatum. Zoning is formed based on the existence of open, middle, and land. The zoning formed based on the type of substrate consists of three, namely sand, loamy sand, and sandy clay. While the zoning formed based on the pH of the substrate is not visible because the pH value of 5-7 is spread throughout the station. The results of the study can be used as a booklet design for the material on Biodiversity Grade X High School.Key Words: Biodiversity, zone, Bandar Bakau Dumai, booklet

Abstract

Tegakan Hutan merupakan sekumpulan pohon-pohon yang mempunyai umur, komposisi dan bentuk yang sama. Komposisi jenis tegakan hutan dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pengayaan materi keanekaragaman hayati pada tingkat spesies. Pembelajaran keanekaragaman hayatimerupakan konsepyang mempelajari berbagai tingkatan keanekaragaman makhluk hidup, baikkeanekaragaman flora maupun fauna. Keanekaragaman hayati ini terdapat pada kelas X SMA yaitu KD 3.2 menganalisis berbagai tingkat keanekaragaman hayati di Indonesia beserta ancaman dan pelestariannya. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Hutan Kota Pulau Bungin Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi, perancangan booklet pada keanekaragaman hayati dilakukan pada bulan Maret 2022. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dengan metode jelajah yaitu dengan menelusuri jalur setapak di wilayah Hutan Kota Pulau Bungin. KD yang cocok untuk diintegrasikan dengan hasil penelitian komposisi jenis di Hutan Kota Pulau Bungin Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi adalah KD 3.2 menganalisis berbagai tingkat keanekaragaman hayati di Indonesia beserta ancaman dan pelestariannya. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa komposisi jenis tegakan di Hutan Kota Pulau Bungin Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi ditemukan sebanyak 457 individu tumbuhan tegakan hutan yang tergolong dalam 46 spesies dari 24 suku, terdiri dari strata pertumbuhan pohon sebanyak 173 individu, tiang 107 individu, pancang 101 individu, dan semai 76 individu. Suku yang mendominasi pada keseluruhan fase pertumbuhan adalah Arecaceae. Hasil penelitian dapat diintegrasikan pada rancangan sumber belajar bookletkeanekaragaman hayati kelas X SMA.

Abstract

Goats are one type of livestock that has a high socioeconomic value for farmers. Most of the goats owned by farmers in Amplas Village are grazed and penned. Goats that are kept in a semi-intensive way are annually attacked by diarrhoeal diseases compared to goats that are kept intensively. This is thought to be due to the presence of gastrointestinal parasites that attack livestock due to the way they are kept. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of infection and intensity of gastrointestinal nematode parasites in goats reared with semi-intensive and intensive rearing systems. The samples examined were 60 faecal samples which were divided based on the rearing system. The samples were then taken to the laboratory of the veterinary center in Medan. The results of the observations showed haemonchus, trichuris, and capillaria sp. The highest prevalence value in Haemonchus sp. was 100%. The lowest prevalence was in Capillaria sp. with a value of 3.3%. The highest intensity was for Haemonchus sp. parasites with a value of 358 grains/ind. The lowest intensity was for Capillaria sp. parasites with a value of 10 grains/ind.Keywords: parasite, nematode, gastrointestinal, goat

Abstract

Background: Lecturers conducted genetics and evolution learning through the application of the PBL model so that students could develop critical thinking skills and activities , students can be more active and learning will be more meaningful. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of critical thinking skills mastery and student activity in genetics and evolution subjects which located on biology education at the University of Riau. Methods : The research was conducted at the Riau University Biology Education Study Program from September 2019 to January 2020. This type of research is quantitative descriptive research. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. Data collection techniques for critical thinking skills using LKM and for student activity data using observation sheets. The data analysis technique was done descriptively Results: The results showed that the average critical thinking skills for analyzing indicators : 76.245% (good), synthesizing : 74.92% (good), solving problems: 75.16% (good), and concluding : 82.77% (very good). The average for questioning activities : 63.98% (enough), responding : 70.96% (good), conducting discussions : 77.95% (good), conducting investigations : 82.69% (very good) and doing LKM : 82.47% (very good). Conclusion: Thus the average critical thinking skills of students is 77.27% (good) and the average student activity is 75.61% (good) in the genetics and evolution course through the application of PBL.

Abstract

The Independent Curriculum is a framework established and implemented since the 2022/2023 academic year through the Decree of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number 56/M/2022 concerning Guidelines for Curriculum Implementation. Implementing the Independent Curriculum significantly affects various aspects, especially selecting appropriate learning media. Based on the results of interviews and findings from field observations, many teachers have not made maximum use of existing technology in the learning process. Creative teachers need to develop interesting learning media for students because the independent curriculum is closely related to innovation. This community service activity aims to effectively train teachers at SMPN 1 Mempura, Siak Regency, to implement media-based learning according to the Independent Curriculum. The methods used in this service include socialization and guidance in designing and utilizing iSpring Suite media. The process consists of five stages: analysis, preparation, implementation, mentoring, and evaluation. The participants included 15 teachers at SMPN 1 Mempura, Siak Regency. The output of this activity was assessed through improvements in pretest and posttest results, as well as satisfaction surveys. The findings showed that 1) participants' knowledge increased by 39%, with an average pretest score of 61 and an average posttest score of 85, and 2) the results of the satisfaction survey showed that 93% of participants gave a positive response by categorizing their responses as very good.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the diversity of ground surface insect species in the Kenegerian Rumbio Customary Prohibition Forest, then the results of the study were integrated into a pocket book to determine the validity of the pocket book of Ground Surface insect diversity in the Kenegerian Rumbio Customary Prohibition Forest. This research has 2 stages, namely; the first stage of collecting information on ground surface insects in the Kenegerian Rumbio Customary Prohibition Forest area, using the survey method. And the second stage is the utilization of survey results for pocket book making, using R&D research design with the ADDIE model. Based on the results of research conducted in the Kenegrian Rumbio Customary Prohibition Forest, conclusions can be drawn, namely: The diversity of ground surface insects in the Kenegrian Rumbio Customary Prohibition Forest was found as many as 5 orders, namely the order Blattodea, coleoptera, hemiptera, hymenoptera and orthoptera, consisting of 21 species with a total of 2,136 individuals. The species diversity index at the shaded station is 2.012. At semi-shaded stations with an index of 1.880 and open stations 1.821. At each research station in the Kenegerian Rumbio Indigenous Prohibition Forest, the diversity of soil surface insects is classified in the medium category. The design of the pocket book of soil surface insect diversity in the Kenegrian Rumbio Customary Prohibition Forest is very valid and can be used in class X high school biodiversity material.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan memvalidasi Leaflet sebagai bahan ajar Biologi SMA yang berbasisi isu lokal kualitas perairan Sungai Rokan kawasan Pulau Tilan. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Februari 2025 di Kampus Pendidikan Biologi FKIP Universitas Riau dengan menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) model ADDIE yang dibatasi hingga tahap pengembangan. Tahap pengembangan difokuskan pada pembuatan Leaflet materi perubahan lingkungan yang mengangkat indikator kualitas air berdasarkan data fisika, kimia dan biologi dari Sungai Rokan di kawasan Pulau Tilan. Validasi produk dilakukan oleh ahli materi dan ahli media menggunakan angket validasi dengan hasil validitas rata-rata 75% (kategori valid) untuk aspek isi, kebahasaan dan penyajian, serta 100% (kategori sangat valid) untuk aspek kegrafisan dan penyajian media. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa Leaflet bahan ajar berbasis isu lokal kualitas perairan Sungai Rokan layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran Biologi kelas X SMA. Leaflet ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap perubahan lingkungan dan isu pencemaran air secara kontekstual dan menarik.
