Abstract

Oral hygiene and dental health are very important, there are various kinds of patogen bacteria in the oral cavity, including the bacteria that cause thrush, Staphylococcus aureus. Gambir is the result of extraction containing polyphenol compounds. The main components contained in gambir consist of alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins and saponins. The use of gambir as a mouthwash preparation is an alternative to replace mouthwash preparations which generally contain an antiseptic in the form of alcohol which can trigger oral cancer. This research is to formulate gambir as a mouthwash and determine the differences in the effectiveness of antibacterial on the growth of Staphylococcus aureus with variations in the concentration of 5%, 10%, 15%. Antibacterial activity test using NA media with agar diffusion method. Physical requirements tests include organoleptic tests, pH tests and viscosity testsshowed that the preparation of 5%, 10% and 15% gambir mouthwash had a pH outside the optimum bacterial growth range of 5. Viscosity of mouthwash preparations of 1.30-5.10 Cp. The antibacterial activity of Staphylococcus aureus in F1 did not produce inhibitory zones, F2 was 5.46 mm, F3 was 9.60 mm and F4 was 10.76 mm while in f5 the positive control was 12.10 mm. Conclusio of this study is gambier mouthwash concentration of 5%, 10% and 15% can inhibit the growth of staphylococcus aureus bacteria.

Abstract

Gambir is a latex juice extracted from the leaves of the gambier plant (UncariagambirRoxb) by pressing. Gambir contains two main components, namely catechins and catechutannic acid, which has many benefits. Gambir has astringent, antibacterial, and other pharmacological and toxic properties. Gambir in Indonesia is generally used for betel nut, besides that it is also used to treat canker sores and mouthwash for sore throats. This counseling aims to obtain data on counseling about the benefits of gambir leaves as mouthwash in Patumbak Village. Counseling was carried out using an interactive method between the presenters and participants so that the event took place in an interesting manner and provided education to the community about the benefits of gambir leaves as mouthwash in Patumbak Village. The results obtained from this counseling are lack of understanding or lack of knowledge of the community following counseling in Patumbak Village about the benefits of gambir leaves as mouthwash, by providing guidance and assistance with counseling methods, the results obtained where the community, especially those who participated in the counseling, showed enthusiasm in their curiosity about the benefits of the leaves. gambier as a mouthwash as well as increasing experience and knowledge of the people of Patumbak Village who participated together in counseling the benefits of gambir leaves as mouthwash through materials and simulations obtained during socialization. The conclusion of this counseling is that the community has been able to find out the benefits of gambier leaves that can be used as mouthwash.

Abstract

The nipah plant (nypahfruticans) has been commonly used as an ingredient in traditional medicines such as stomach aches, diabetes, internal febrifuge, toothache medicine and headache medicine. The nipah plant (nypahfruticans) is efficacious as a sinusitis medicine, in addition to the nipah plant extract (nypahfruticans) is able to inhibit tuberculosis, liver disease (liver), sore throat is also efficacious as a carminative (can help the body's wind discharge), antidote and medicine tranquilizer. This counseling aims to obtain counseling data about the benefits of nipah leaves for healing toothaches at the PB Health Center. Brief II. Counseling was carried out with an interactive method between the presenters and participants so that the event took place in an interesting manner and provided education to the community about the benefits of nipah leaves as a toothache treatment at PB Selayang II. The results obtained from this counseling are lack of understanding or lack of knowledge of the community following the counseling at PB. Selayang II about the use of nipah leaves as a toothache treatment, by providing guidance and assistance with counseling methods, the results were obtained where the community, especially those who took part in the counseling, showed enthusiasm in curiosity about the benefits of nipah leaves as a toothache treatment as well as increased experience and knowledge of the people of PB. Selayang II who participated in counseling the benefits of nipah leaves as a treatment for toothaches through materials and simulations obtained during socialization. The conclusion of this counseling the community has been able to know the benefits of nipah leaves as a toothache treatment.

Abstract

Kecombrang plant is one of the medicinal plants that can be used as traditional medicine. This plant is commonly known as bongkot. Kecombrang plants are generally used by the community as a flavor enhancer of cuisine and used as traditional medicine, which the community believes is able to eliminate body odor, bad breath, improve blood circulation and heal wounds and can increase breast milk for nursing mothers. This counseling aims to obtain data on providing counseling about the efficacy of the kecombrang plant in the community for healing burns in the Biru-biru village. Counseling was carried out with an interactive method between the presenters and participants so that the event took place in an interesting manner and provided education to the community about the benefits of the kecombrang plant as a burn treatment in Biru-biru Village. The results obtained from this counseling are a lack of understanding or lack of knowledge of the community following counseling in Biru-biru Village about the use of the kecombrang plant as a burn treatment, by providing guidance and assistance with counseling methods, the results obtained where the community, especially those who participated in the counseling, showed enthusiasm in curiosity. from the benefits of the kecombrang plant as a burn treatment as well as the increased experience and knowledge of the people of Biru-biru Village who participated together in counseling the benefits of the kecombrang plant as a burn treatment through materials and simulations obtained during socialization. The conclusion of this counseling is that the community has been able to find out the benefits of the kecombrang plant as a burn treatment.

Abstract

Dahlia tubers are a source of carbohydrates in the form of inulin. Dried dahlia tubers are thought to contain inulin as much as 65-76% of the total carbohydrates contained. Inulin or fructoolgosaccharide is a food component that can act as a prebiotic and also as a soluble dietary fiber in humans. Inulin is thought to be able to maintain the balance of the other normal flora of the large intestine. The balance of microflora in the intestine is very necessary because these microbes can inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria. Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhi are among the choliform bacteria belonging to the Enterobacteriaceae family. Enterobacteriaceae are enteric bacteria or bacteria that live and can survive in the digestive tract. This study aims to compare the activity of dahlia tuber starch against Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhi bacteria by determining the activity of dahlia tuber starch. The results showed that dahlia tuber starch had antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli and Salmonella typh. Effective concentration in inhibiting Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhi bacteria at a concentration of 80% with an average LDH of 22.71 mm for Escherichia coli bacteria, while for Salmonella typhi the average LDH of 15.08 mm.

Abstract

Batak onion (Allium chinense G.Don) of the Amarylidaceae family is one of the traditional medicinal plants that has antibacterial properties, containing flavonoids, terpenoids, tannins and saponins. EEDBB extract against Propionibacterium acne (Pa), Staphylococcus aureus (Sa), Eschericia coli (Ec), Salmonella typhi (St). Batak shallot powder was extracted by maceration method using 80% ethanol as solvent. disc diffusion method of advertising concentration (EEDBB) 40%, 60%, 80% with a comparison of positive control and negative control. Measurement of antibacterial activity showed that all concentrations had antibacterial activity. The highest antibacterial activity of EEDBB at a concentration of 80% had a maximum antibacterial with an average inhibition zone of 11.5 mm for bacteria (Pa), 10 mm for bacteria (Sa), 15,5 mm for bacteria (Ec) and 16.1 mm for bacteria. bacteria (St). The lowest antibacterial activity ethanol extract at a concentration of 40% had the lowest inhibitory power with an average inhibition zone diameter of 7.8 mm for bacteria (Pa), 6.6 mm for bacteria (Sa), 12.9 mm for bacteria (Pa). . bacteria (Ec) and 13.2 mm in bacteria (St). EEDBB has the highest antibacterial activity on bacteria (St) with an average inhibition zone of 16mm. Data analysis was carried out using the One way ANOVA test, namely H0 was accepted and H1 was rejected where the value of sig < 0.05.

Abstract

Red spinach has function as skin antiseptic. It has antibacterial activity because it contains compounds such as tannins, flavonoids, saponins, and steroids. The purpose of formulation and test of antibacterial activity of hand sanitizer gel preparation red spinach extract and evaluation of physical quality of hand sanitizer. Antibacterial activity test was measured by diffusion method using paper disk to measuring the diameter of the bacterial growth inhibition zone of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. Concentration extract ethanol of leaf red spinach (and formula of hand sanitizer gel used (F1) blanco; (F2) 5%; (F3) 10%; (F4) 20% and (F5) control positive/detol. Evaluation of physical properties of hand sanitizer gel include of: homogeneity test, stability test and pH test. The results has found showed that antibacterial activity test of gel extract leaves red spinach (on Escherichia coli inhibited at without extract/blanco was 0 mm, concentration of 5% with diameter of inhibit was 14,99 mm, concentration of 10% with diameter of inhibit was 17,26 mm, concentration of 20% with diameter of inhibit was 18,26 mm and using control positive was 19.33. And then for bacteri Staphylococcus aures at concentration of without extract/blanco was 0 mm, 5% with diameter of inhibit was 15,5 mm, concentration of 10% with diameter of inhibit was 15,96 mm and concentration of 20% with diameter of inhibit was 17,43 mm and using control positive was 18.33 mm. So we can conclude that hand sanitizer gel of leaf red spinach have less inhibited growth against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus.

Abstract

Dahlia variabilis dapat hidup di dataran tinggi, beriklim lembab dan kering, Bakteri Propionibacterium Acne merupakan bakteri gram positif yang dapat menyebabkan timbulnya jerawat. dan praktis. Metode penelitian meliputi karakterisasi daun tunggal, pembuatan ekstrak etanol daun berambut panjang dengan metode perendaman air dengan pelarut etanol 96%, formulasi komposisi sheet mask, pengujian Evaluasi komposisi dan pemeriksaan aktivitas antibakteri sediaan sheet mask dengan metode difusi menggunakan pelat kertas (uji Kirby-Bauer). ANOVA satu arah diikuti dengan uji Tukey digunakan untuk analisis data. Data yang dihasilkan memiliki uji beda nyata (sig 0,05 ). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui formulasi sheet mask ekstrak daun lengkeng terbaik dengan mengetahui efikasi dari sediaan sheet mask. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun kelengkeng memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap bakteri Propionibacterium acnes, konsentrasi yang efektif dalam menghambat bakteri Propionibacterium acnes adalah formula 3 dengan lebar hambat sedang (LDH) yaitu 23,96 dan konsentrasi 15% . Untuk pengujian kualitas fisik dan pengujian hedonik formulasi daun, masker yang disukai panelis adalah konsentrasi 5%.

Abstract

Daun singkong (Manihot esculenta Crantz.) merupakan tanaman dari famili Euphorbiaceae yang mengandung flavonoid yang dapat digunakan sebagai pengusir nyamuk. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui apakah ekstrak etanol daun singkong dapat digunakan sebagai obat semprot antinyamuk dan memiliki daya tolak yang dapat menghambat gigitan nyamuk dan dapat membunuh nyamuk. Metode: Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan metode purposive tanpa membandingkan sampel dari daerah lain. Hasil: Pengujian karakterisasi simplisia daun singkong diperoleh kadar air 8,73%, kadar ekstrak larut air 21,28%, kadar ekstrak larut etanol 20,00%, kadar abu total 2,87%, dan tidak larut asam. kadar abu 1,46%. Simplisia mengandung alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin, dan tanin. Untuk kontrol negatif (semprot dasar) terdapat jumlah gigitan nyamuk dengan rata-rata. Untuk kontrol positif (Soffel Spray) tidak ada gigitan nyamuk. Sediaan semprot ekstrak etanol daun singkong (SEEDS) dengan konsentrasi 5%, 10%, dan 15% tidak menimbulkan gigitan nyamuk. Untuk hasil jumlah atau kematian nyamuk tidak keluar, hal ini disebabkan kemungkinan hilangnya kandungan sianida pada SEEDS akibat pemanasan pada saat proses putar dan penguapan. Kesimpulan : Sediaan semprot ekstrak etanol daun singkong memiliki efek repelling yang dapat menghambat gigitan nyamuk

Abstract

Umbi dahlia (Dahlia variabilis) merupakan salah satu tanaman yang banyak ditemukan di dataran tinggi di Indonesia. Umbi dahlia ini awalnya hanya di pakai bunga nya saja sedangkan bagian umbi dipakai untuk makanan hewan ternak, Umbi dahlia banyak mengandung karbohidrat yang berupa inulin, gula reduksi maupun selulosa. Selain itu senyawa yang terdapat pada tanaman umbi adalah flavonoid, fenolat dan saponin, karena kandungan yang ada di dalam umbi dahlia tersebut maka dapat di eksploitasikan menjadi masker wajah. Dimana masker ini adalah salah satu kosmetika yang sering digunakan oleh masyarakat terutama remaja sebagai usaha untuk menjaga kulit wajah agar tetap sehat dimana memiliki kelembapan yang baik dan terhindar dari jerawat. Masker wajah dapat membersihkan kotoran pada kulit wajah dapat mengangkat sel-sel kulit mati dan dapat mencerahkan warna kulit wajah. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberikan edukasi kepada siswa/i SMAN 1 Delitua tentang produk kosmetik yang berasal dari bahan alam yaitu umbi dahlia. Setelah mengikuti kegiatan ini siswa/I memiliki pengetahuan yang baru tentang cara pembuatan masker wajah yang mana bisa digunakan dalam kehidupan sehari – hari untuk melembabkan kulit dan mencegah jerawat. Pihak sekolah dan siswa/i sangat antusias dengan kegiatan yang berlangsung, dimana kegiatan ini dapat menambah pengetahuan cara merawat wajah secara alami dengan menggunakan bahan umbi dahlia yang dibuat dalam sediaan masker wajah.
