Abstract

The home guitar manufacturing industry has emerged as one of the leading sectors in the Baki District, Sukoharjo Regency. This home industry specializes in producing acoustic guitars through a buy-to-order system. One of the challenges faced by the guitar manufacturing home industry is the inefficient layout of the utilized facilities, as the production process for each guitar component takes place in different locations – specifically, four distinct sites for four workstations. Therefore, there is a need for integrative decision-making related to production processes, workflow, employee positions, and the layout of production machinery. Line Balancing is a method employed to optimize the efficiency of the production facility layout. namely Workstation 1 (body molding process), Workstation 2 (body assembly and sanding process), and Workstation 3 (painting and finishing process). The reorganization of these work elements aims to achieve better efficiency and workflow balance. Furthermore, the research results demonstrate that utilizing a work cycle of 28.57 minutes yields an efficiency rate of 99.17% and an effectiveness rate of 100%. Hence, the implementation of a 28.57-minute work cycle is considered a more efficient option, with a positive impact on workflow balance.

Abstract

A company requires productivity to achieve predetermined goals. Productivity is an important aspect for a company in determining its future business because productivity is the effective and efficient use of resources to produce or increase the output of goods or services. PT. Putra Perkasa Abadi is targeting overburden productivity on its PC2000 excavator to be 820bcm/hour, but the company wants to increase or increase production by modifying the PC2000 excavator from the standard size of only 12m³ to 14m³ without changing other components in order to get better results. more without increasing operational costs and costs for removing soil layers. The modified tool is PC2000 with hull number EX2045 bucket 14m³ by comparing the standard tool PC2000 with hull number EX2044 bucket 12m³, the picking test was carried out on 16 December 2023 shift 1. The EX2045 data results obtained a productivity of 914bcm with operational costs of 18.270.000 and costs for removing soil layers of 2,176 /bcm while EX2044's productivity is 823bcm with operational costs of 18.210.000 with a land demolition price of 2,418/bcm, so EX2045 is 11% more efficient than EX2044 and provides productivity of 11.4% of the company's target provided that it must minimize obstacles in the field that hinder the production process so that production can run optimally as expected.

Abstract

Abstract

Baby diaper waste is a critical environmental issue, especially in areas with limited waste management. This program aims to transform baby diaper waste that is usually considered worthless into creative products with high economic value and reduce the volume of waste disposed of in landfills. This activity was implemented in Kitiran Climate Village RW VIII Purwosari Village, Surakarta, which provided support and active participation. The implementation method consisted of two main stages: socialization and lectures, followed by practice. The socialization and lecture sessions provided an understanding of the impact of baby diaper waste on the environment, the importance of waste treatment, the selection of resin handicraft as a solution, existing waste treatment methods, and an economic analysis showing the potential profitability of the product. After the lecture, participants followed the practice of making resin handicrafts which included separating waste from super absorbent polymer (SAP) materials, washing, soaking with disinfectants, drying, chopping, coloring, drying, making resin handicrafts products, and finishing. The results showed an increase in community skills in processing baby diaper waste and an increase in income from the sale of resin handicraft products. This program is expected to reduce the volume of baby diaper waste disposed to landfill, increase environmental awareness, and contribute to the community's economy.

Abstract

Abstract

The growing issue of disposable baby diaper waste requires an effective collection model to support sustainable waste management. This study designs a community-based collection model using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method to identify the most effective approach. Three models are evaluated: Model 1 (Community-Based Diaper Bank), Model 2 (Scheduled Diaper Pick-Up Program), and Model 3 (Diaper Collection Points at Public Facilities). Results show Model 1 is the most effective, with the highest Global Priority score of 0.415, due to its contributions to reducing environmental impact, raising public awareness, and incentivizing participation. Model 2 and Model 3 follow with scores of 0.353 and 0.261. The environmental criterion holds the highest weight (0.504), emphasizing its importance. These findings suggest that community-based models can enhance waste collection efficiency and support sustainability. The results can inform policy development and help guide future research on sustainable waste management practices.
