Abstract

Intensive vannamei shrimp cultivation is a high-density culture to get maximum results with the use of limited cultivation space. High cultivation activities cause high waste production, which inhibits growth, survival rate, and feed conversion ratio (FCR). This study aims to determine the cultivation of vannamei shrimp with an intensive system on growth, survival rate, and FCR. The research was carried out in Legok Jawa, Pangandaran in the period March–May 2022. The research was carried out by means of a survey and analyzed by a quantitative descriptive approach. The results of the study obtained growth values, namely: Mean Body Weight (MBW) ranges from 1.61 to 21.11 g/head, Average Daily Growth (ADG) ranges from 0.14 to 0.62 g/day, size is 49 fish/kg and biomass is 7,680 kg. The survival rate value obtained is around 95.07 – 84.87%, while the feed conversion ratio (FCR) value ranges from 1.2 to 1.5. In general, the results of growth, survival rate, and FCR showed high performance and supported the success of vannamei shrimp culture with intensive systems.

Abstract

Kegiatan budidaya ikan tidak terlepas dari permasalahan penyakit. Serangan penyakit dapat ditekan dengan penggunaan fitofarmaka. Fitofarmaka merupakan penggunaan bahan-bahan herbal yang teruji secara klinis mampu mencegah dan mengobati penyakit pada ikan. Kegiatan PKM dilaksanakan di Desa Cintakarya, Kecamatan Parigi, Kabupaten Pangandaran. Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) bertujuan untuk untuk meningkatkan pemahaman terkait dengan potensi bahan-bahan, aplikasi, senyawa yang terkandung dan prosedur pembuatan fitofarmaka dalam kegiatan budidaya perikanan. PKM dilaksanakan dengan metode ceramah/pemaparan teori dan praktik langsung. Materi kegiatan berkaitan dengan penjelasan fitofarmaka, bahan-bahan dan senyawa potensial serta aplikasi fitofarmaka. Sedangkan kegiatan praktik langsung meliputi pembuatan fitofarmaka berbahan dasar kering dan basah sesuai prosedur. Hasil kegiatan PKM menunjukan terjadinya peningkatan pemahaman pembudidaya ikan terkait fitofarmakal sebagai promotor pertumbuhan, agen anti bakteri, anti-parasite, anti-fungal, anti-viral, antioksidan, imunostimulan bagi ikan, bahan dan senyawa potensial serta aplikasi fitofarmakal. Pembudidaya ikan memiliki keterampilan/skill dalam pembuatan fitofarmaka yang berbahan dasar kering dan basah sesuai dengan prosedur yang benar. Hasil evaluasi kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat menunjukan tujuan dan tema kegiatan, materi kegiatan, kualitas narasumber, kebermanfaatan materi kegiatan serta ruang dan fasilitas kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat mendapatkan persepsi peserta sangat baik dan bermanfaat terhadap masyarakat.

Abstract

Litopenaeus vannamei farming intensively cannot be separated from various problems. One of the problems faced by farmers is the availability of seeds in terms of quantity and quality. Therefore, this study aims to determine the production techniques of L. vannamei shrimp nauplii produced from the mass spawning process to support the increase in the number of L. vannamei shrimp production. Mass spawning has an impact on the number of nauplii produced and the effectiveness of broodstock maintenance. This study was carried out in Banten, Indonesia. This study was conducted by surveying and observing the stages of broodstock management, spawning, nauplii harvesting, and the production of nauplii. The results of the study showed that several aspects must be considered: (1) broodstock management that includes feeding and monitoring water quality, (2) mass spawning, and (3) harvesting and production of nauplii. During the rearing period, feed, such as pellets, marine worms, and squid, was administered to accelerate the gonad maturation process, and water quality was controlled. The results of mass spawning were obtained Maturation Rate ranges 12.66 - 21.66%, Matting Rate (MR) ranges 40 - 85%, Fecundity ranges 231,951 – 486,250 eggs/shrimp, Fertilization Rate (FR) ranges 60.45 – 72.37%, and Hatching Rate (HR) ranges 71.66 – 87.24%. Total nauplii production was 4.996.398 shrimp for 28 days. Total production was slightly lower than previously reported, which was caused by an inaccurate matting process.

Abstract

Kualitas air berperan penting terhadap perubahan dinamika struktur plankton. Perubahan struktur dinamika plankton berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan udang vannamei. Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui hubungan kualitas air dengan dinamika struktur plankton. Sampel dikumpulkan pada tiga tambak budidaya udang vannamei intensif di Garut, Jawa Barat. Tambak yang diamati sebanyak tiga petak (2.860 m2/kolam). Perlakuan budidaya pada masing-masing tambak dilakukan secara sama tanpa ada variabel yang berbeda. Hasil penelitian diperoleh kualitas air tambak secara keseluruhan berada pada nilai optimal kecuali fosfat yang mengalami fluktuasi lebih dari nilai optimal. Kisaran nilai fosfat tertinggi pada tambak 2 sekitar 0,023 – 0,718 (0,206 ± 0,213), tambak 1 sekitar 0,0266 – 0,7444 (0,227 ± 0,244) dan terendah pada tambak 3 sekitar 0,022 – 0,6 (0,183 ± 0,192). Komunitas plankton tambak ditemukan 5 kelompok (21 genus). Kelimpahan plankton berkisar 5-5783 ind/ml. Nilai indeks keragaman tambak 1 (H’ = 2,0255) dan tambak 2 (H’ = 2,1606) termasuk dalam kategori lebih stabil, sedangkan tambak 3 (H’ = 1,4211) termasuk dalam kategori stabil. Nilai keseragaman tambak 1 (E = 0,7305) dan tambak 2 (E = 0,7337) termasuk dalam kategori tinggi, sedangkan tambak 3 (E = 0,5384) termasuk dalam kategori sedang karena ditemukan genus Oscillatoria sebayak 5783 ind/ml (62,72%). Jumlah genus Oscilatoria yang tinggi menyebabkan nilai dominansi tambak 3 (D = 0,4161) lebih tinggi dibandingkan tambak 1 (D = 0,1749) dan tambak 2 (D = 0,1477). Kualitas air tambak 1, 2 dan 3 memiliki hubungan sangat kuat dengan kelimpahan plankton dengan nilai R2 berturut-turut, yakni: 0,8642, 0,9801 dan 0,8607.

Abstract

Kualitas air merupakan faktor penentu dalam kegiatan budidaya Litopenaeus vannamei. Dinamika kualitas air pada tambak berlangsung secara cepat dan saling terkait antara komponen sehingga berdampak pada performa L. vannamei. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dinamika kualitas air terhadap performa L. vannamei. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Pandeglang, Banten selama 3 bulan (September s.d November 2024). Tambak yang diamati sebanyak 2 petak dengan luasan 2.500 M2 per petak (padat tebar 136 Ekor m-2 dan 150 Ekor m-2). Hasil penelitian dinamika kualitas air terhadap performa L. vannamei dengan padat tebar berbeda menunjukan bahwa parameter suhu, salinitas, kecerahan, alkalinitas, nitrit dan TOM optimal menunjang kegiatan budidaya. Sedangkan parameter mengalami fluktuasi melebihi batas yang dipersyaratkan, yaitu: ammonium, pH dan nitrat. Hasil uji korelasi menujukan bahwa perbedaan padat tebar berpengaruh terhadap fluktuasi dan tingkat korelasi parameter kualitas air budidaya. Sedangkan hasil uji regresi MBW terhadap kualitas air secara berturut-turut yakni: R2 = 0.9084 (tambak 1) dan R2 = 0.9253 (tambak 2). Hasil korelasi ABW terhadap kualitas air secara berturut-turut yakni: R2 = 0.9214 (tambak 1) dan R2 = 0.9114 (tambak 2). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tingkat kelangsungan hidup terhadap kualitas air secara berturut-turut yakni: R2 = 0.9963 (tambak 1) dan R2 = 0.9962 (tambak 2). Secara umum, dinamika kualitas air, hasil uji korelasi dan regresi kualitas air terhadap performa L. vannamei mendukung pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup udang.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of Woton (Sterculia shillinglawii) leaves meal supplementation on the growth performance and digestibility of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) juveniles. The treatments consisted of Woton leaves meal at inclusion levels of 0% (A), 5% (B), 10% (C), 15% (D), and 20% (E), with each treatment replicated three times. The observed parameters included average daily growth (ADG), average body weight (ABW), growth rate (GR), specific growth rate (SGR), survival rate (SR), feed conversion ratio (FCR), and feed efficiency (FE), as well as protein digestibility and total digestibility. Analysis of variance showed no significant differences in ADG, ABW, GR, and SR among the treatments. However, Treatment B recorded a relatively higher SGR (2.73 ± 0.44% day-1) compared to the other treatments (P < 0.05). The analysis of digestibility revealed significant differences. Treatment C (15% inclusion level) resulted in the highest protein digestibility (99.39 ± 0.02%) and total digestibility (99.37 ± 0.01%), while a lower FCR (1.76 ± 0.24) and a higher FE (57.59 ± 7.85%) were found in Treatment B (P<0.05). This study highlighted that despite Woton leaves meal improving fish digestibility and feed efficiency, its supplementation in fish feed should be limited to 5-10% due to the adverse effects of its flavonoid compounds. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh suplementasi tepung daun Woton (Sterculia shillinglawii) terhadap kinerja pertumbuhan dan kecernaan juvenil ikan nila (Oreochromis niloticus). Perlakuan terdiri atas tepung daun Woton pada tingkat inklusi 0% (A), 5% (B), 10% (C), 15% (D), dan 20% (E), dengan setiap perlakuan diulang tiga kali. Parameter yang diamati meliputi rata-rata pertumbuhan harian (RPH), rata-rata bobot tubuh (RBT), laju pertumbuhan (LP), laju pertumbuhan spesifik (LPS), tingkat kelangsungan hidup (TKH), rasio konversi pakan (RKP), dan efisiensi pakan (EP) serta kecernaan protein dan kecernaan total. Analisis varians tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan pada RPH, RBT, LP, dan TKH di antara perlakuan. Namun, Perlakuan B menunjukkan LPS yang relatif lebih tinggi (2,73 ± 0,44% hari-1) dibanding dengan perlakuan lainnya (P<0,05). Analisis kecernaan mengungkapkan perbedaan yang signifikan. Perlakuan C (tingkat inklusi 15%) menghasilkan kecernaan protein tertinggi (99,39 ± 0,02%) dan kecernaan total tertinggi (99,37 ± 0,01%), sedangkan RKP yang lebih rendah (1,76 ± 0,24) dan EP yang lebih tinggi (57,59 ± 7,85%) ditemukan pada Perlakuan B (P<0,05). Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa meskipun tepung daun Woton meningkatkan kecernaan dan efisiensi pakan ikan, suplementasinya pada pakan ikan sebaiknya dibatasi hingga 5-10% karena dampak negatif senyawa flavonoid yang dikandungnya.

Abstract

Plankton berfungsi sebagai pakan alami dan parameter ekologi dalam kegiatan budidaya. Perubahan struktur komunitas plankton dapat memengaruhi produktivitas budidaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui struktur komunitas plankton sebagai indikator produksi budidaya udang vaname. Sampel dikumpulkan pada tiga tambak budidaya udang vaname intensif di Garut, Jawa Barat, Indonesia (7⁰35’57.5”S-107⁰38’7”E) periode waktu November sampai dengan Desember 2021. Tambak budidaya yang diamati berjumlah tiga petak (20 x 20 m per kolam) dengan perlakuan yang sama. Komunitas plankton di tambak ditemukan lima kelompok (20 genus). Kelompok plankton tertinggi adalah kelompok lain-lain (enam genus), sedangkan kelompok fitoplankton tertinggi adalah Chlorophyceae (lima genus). Kelimpahan plankton berkisar 2–2826 ind mL-1. Nilai indeks keragaman masih dalam kategori baik dan stabil di mana keragaman tertinggi terdapat pada tambak 2 (H’ = 2,16) dan terendah pada tambak 1 (H’ = 1,83). Nilai keseragaman plankton termasuk dalam kategori tinggi berkisar 0,71–0,81 dan tidak terdapat genus plankton yang mendominasi. Kualitas air tambak budidaya memiliki hubungan sangat kuat terhadap kelimpahan plankton dengan nilai R2 = 0,89 dan produktivitas tambak memiliki hubungan sangat kuat dengan keragaman plankton dengan nilai R2 = 0,97. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang didapatkan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa struktur plankton dalam tambak udang berpengaruh kuat terhadap produktivitas udang vaname yang dibudidayakan. Plankton functions as live feed and ecological parameters in fish farming systems. Changes in the structure of the plankton community can affect aquaculture productivity. This study aimed to determine the plankton community structure as an aquaculture production indicator for Pacific whiteleg shrimp. Samples were collected in three intensive Pacific whiteleg shrimp farming ponds in Garut, West Java, Indonesia (7⁰35'57.5”S-107⁰38'7”E) from November to December 2021. The observed shrimp ponds consisted of three ponds (20 x 20 m per pond) and managed using the same shrimp farming inputs and practices. The study found that plankton community in the pond could be categorized into five groups consisting of 20 genera. The highest plankton group was the miscellaneous group (six genera), while the highest phytoplankton group was Chlorophyceae (five genera). The abundance of plankton ranged from 2–2826 ind mL-1. The diversity index value was considered good and in stable category where the highest diversity was in pond 2 (H' = 2.16) and the lowest in pond 1 (H' = 1.83). The uniformity value of plankton was in the high category ranging from 0.71-0.81 with no dominant plankton genus. This study found that the shrimp pond water quality has a very strong relationship with the abundance of plankton with a value of R2 = 0.89 and pond productivity has a very strong relationship with plankton diversity with a value of R2 = 0.97. Based on these findings, this study concludes that the dynamics of plankton structure in shrimp ponds affect the productivity of farmed Pacific whiteleg shrimp.
