Abstract

Zinc and copper are micronutrients that are the factors that support microalgae growth rate besides macronutrients, CO2, temperature, salinity, and pH. Growth of Nannochlopsis sp was observed to determine the influence of the addition of Zn and Cu concentration. Microalgae cultivation was located outdoors on the semi-mass scale using 800 L medium on mesophilic condition in 3 treatments with the addition of 1 ppm, 3 ppm, and 5 ppm concentrations of Zn and Cu metals. Cells density was calculated using a hemocytometer, and the absorbed metal content was measured by AAS. The study aimed to test the growth response of Nannochloropsis sp cells to Zn and Cu metals. The growth rate of microalgae was observed for the addition of Zn and Cu concentration in the cultivation medium. The result showed the highest Nannochloropsis sp growth rate for Zn addition was 0.053/day and for Cu addition was 0.279/day. Between Zn and Cu addition, the highest growth rate was observed in the addition of 1 ppm Cu metal (Cu1) which was equal to 0.279/day. This shows that adding micronutrients are not automatically will increase the growth rate of microalgae as well.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat perbedaan lama waktu pematangan gonad dari udang vaname yang di ablasi dan tidak di ablasi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di instalasi Pembenihan Udang di Balai Perikanan Budidaya Air Payau (BPBAP) Situbondo, Jawa Timur. Karakteristik induk udang yang baik adalah udang jantan dan betina memiliki karakteristik reproduksi yang sangat bagus. Spermatofora jantan berkembang baik dan berwarna putih mutiara dan udang betina matang secara seksual dan menunjukkan perkembangan ovarium yang alami. Induk berasal hasil pemuliaan Multipication Broodstock Center (MBC) dengan bobot tubuh sebesar 30-35 g (jantan) dan 40-45 g (betina). Induk diberikan kombinasi tiga jenis pakan selama masa pemeliharaan dengan frekuensi pemberian 4 kali sehari sebesar 40% dari biomassa yakni pukul 07.00, 11.00, 15.00 dan 19.00. Proses ablasi dilakukan pada pagi hari. Proses ablasi yang dilakukan adalah dengan cara memegang induk betina secara perlahan-lahan dan hati-hati sehingga udang tidak merontaronta dengan cara melipat ekor udang ke arah dalam secara perlahan. Lalu setelah itu dilakukan pemotongan tangkai mata menggunakan gunting arteri yang telah dipanaskan. Pemotongan tangkai mata dapat dilakukan pada bagian kanan ataupun kiri sesuai kondisi mata induk. Setelah di ablasi, induk udang diamati tingkat kematian untuk meyakinkan ketersediaan induk yang akan digunakan untuk pengamatan tingkat kematangan gonad. Tingkat kematangan gonad udang vaname menunjukkan ada perbedaan pada lama hari inkubasi untuk perlakuan ablasi dan non-ablasi. Periode waktu untuk perkembangan TKG udang yang di ablasi antara 0-12 hari sedangkan 0-22 hari untuk yang tidak di ablasi.This study was conducted to see the time difference in the gonad maturation time period of ablated and non-ablated Vaname shrimp. This study was conducted at the Shrimp Hatchery Instalansi at the Brackish Water Aquaculture Center (BPBAP) Situbondo, East Java. The broodstock originated from the Multipication Broodstock Center (MBC), where they were bred for body weights of 30-35 g for males and 40-45 g for females. During the rearing period, the broodstock received a combination of three types of feed four times a day at 40% of biomass, at 07:00, 11:00, 15:00, and 19:00. We carried out the ablation process in the morning. We perform the ablation process by gently folding the shrimp's tail inward and holding the female parent slowly and carefully to prevent it from struggling. Next, use heated artery scissors to cut the eye stalk. Depending on the condition of the parent's eye, you can cut the eye stalk on either the right or left side. We observed the mortality of shrimp broodstock after ablation to ensure its availability for gonadal maturity observations. The difference in the number of days needed for ablation and non-ablation treatments was seen in the vanamei shrimp's gonadal maturity level. The time period for the development of TKG in ablated shrimp is between 0 and 12 days, while 0 and 22 days for non-ablated shrimp.

Abstract

Mangrove forest is a type of forest found in tidal areas which are inundated at high tide and dry at low tide. Gastropods are biota that are closely related to mangrove ecosystems and are found in many environmental conditions. The purpose of this study was to determine the community structure between mangroves and gastropods associated with mangrove forest areas in Kampung Laut Coast, Cilacap Regency. The results obtained for the most mangrove species were Rhizophora apiculata and Brugeria. Mangrove canopy cover value of 75.56% is included in the good category with dense density. There were 6 types of gastropods associated with mangroves, namely Caenogastropoda, Cycloneritida, Ellobiidae, Neritidae, Potamididae, and Muricidae. The relationship between mangrove ecosystems and gastropods in the Kampung Laut coast is very close. This is due to the fact that most of this area is overgrown with mangrove species Rhizopora spp which are very popular with gastropods.

Abstract

Remote sensing is one of the effective methods of monitoring mangrove ecosystems. One of the challenges in implementing this method is image resolution. Access to large-resolution imagery as a basic material for spatial analysis is not cheap. Unmanned small aircraft systems (SPUKTA) or drones are able to answer these challenges. Orthophotos obtained from the acquisition of drones are capable of producing large-resolution imagery. This method is then implemented in conservation areas, to facilitate the process of identifying mangrove species in the area. The drone was flown at an altitude of 150 m with a pavement value of 85% for 4 flying missions. The result of processing 1614 aerial photos into orthophotos produced images with a GSD resolution of 4.75 cm/pix. These images are then analyzed with on-screen digitization techniques and visual interpretation. From the total area of the study area of 46.48 ha obtained the digitization results of Rhizophora sp. with a total area of 24.68 ha, Avicennia sp. 7.64 ha, dead mangroves 0.19 ha, and non-vegetation 13.97 ha.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan membandingkan penggunaan pengenceran cairan fermentasi daun mangrove Sonneratia alba yang berbeda untuk pertumbuhan rumput laut Kappaphycus alvarezii. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Perairan Desa Bulagi II, Kecamatan Bulagi, Kabupaten Banggai. Organisme uji yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah rumput laut dari jenis K. alvarezii. Rancangan penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan, yaitu kontrol, A (1 L cairan fermentasi /100 L air laut), B (1 L cairan fermentasi /50 L air laut), dan C (1 L cairan fermentasi /25 L air laut). Rumput laut direndam dalam cairan fermentasi daun mangrove selama satu jam dengan pengenceran berbeda. Parameter yang damati dalam penelitian ini meliputi pertumbuhan mutlak, pertumbuhan spesifik harian, dan kualitas air. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengenceran cairan fermentasi daun mangrove yang berbeda memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap pertumbuhan rumput laut. Berdasarkan nilai rata-rata pertumbuhan terbaik ditunjukkan perlakuan 1 L cairan fermentasi /100 L air laut dengan pertumbuhan mutlak (147.52g), dan pertumbuhan spesifik (4.32%). Penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa perendaman rumput laut selama 1 jam dengan 1 L cairan fermentasi S. alba yang diencerkan dalam 100 L air laut dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan petumbuhan rumput laut K. alvarezii
