Abstract

Twitter is one medium that can be used to build broader personal branding. Nago Tejena and his account owner @nagotejena is a psychologist who actively writes educational tweets related to mental health issues. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type to explain how the creation of Nago Tejena's personal branding as a psychologist on Twitter social media using Hubert K. Rampersad's Criteria for Effective Authentic Personal Branding concept. The results showed that Nago Tejena creates personal branding on Twitter social media as an educative psychologist by sharing insightful tweets with the audience, and Nago Tejena has a sense of concern for mental health issues so that she consistently shares educative tweets. This research also shows that Nago Tejena has complied with Hubert K. Rampersad's Criteria for Effective Authentic Personal Branding concept as the base for personal branding formation. Abstract

Views on sex are shaped by social and political forces and are linked in important ways to those around class, race, and particularly gender. This view resides in speech acts in everyday life as well as present as discourse, which is continued, treated, and challenged through communication, one of which is through the medium of video games. In this study, the researcher uses van Dijk's critical discourse analysis model to understand the discourse of sexuality in the game "Coming Out Simulator 2014." The researcher then found that the general discourse raised in this game was “Oppression/marginalization of queer groups.”

Abstract

The role of women on equality and gender relations is often raised as an object in the mass media, including the song lyrics. The description in the story are still in the subordinations and often creates stereotypes in the society. If this is not criticized it will be considered as natural and reasonable. In the future it can create a structure and system of gender injustice that is accepted and normalized as if nothing is wrong. The theme song of Bu Darmi is about women, especially Balinese women. This song tells about the life of the character bu Darmi, a Balinese woman who lives in an environment with thick culture and patriarchal system. In this song, Balinese women are described through two sides, there are in the private and public spheres. This study aims to explain the hidden meaning behind the song lyrics of Bu Darmi by Nosstress that have a corelations into the representation of women. This research using a qualitative approach with a Roland Barthes’s semiotic theory and representation theory from Stuart Hall, The results of this research signifies that Bu Darmi’s song describes the reality of the problems experienced by Balinese people related to patriarchal culture, women and the political ecology that occurs in Bali. Women conduct multidimensional and multigender plays as a women, labour, social society as well as arrange of several religious rituals.

Abstract

Cases of data breaches have occurred several times in Indonesia. One of the cases that is in the public spotlight is the data leak case carried out by a figure named “Bjorka”. This anonymous figure has carried out a series of data breaches involving public data and the personal data of state officials. The issue of data leakage then grew, and both print and online media outlets covered it extensively. This study tries to ascertain how the "Bjorka" case was covered by CNN Indonesia on September 12, 2022. In this study, the framing analysis technique developed by Robert N. Entman is used in a qualitative descriptive approach. On September 12, 2022, CNN Indonesia's online news service served as the research's data source. According to the study's findings, CNN Indonesia separated the three main concerns it used to shape the public's perceptions of the Bjorka case into three categories.

Abstract

ABSTRAKWacana Ekonomi Alternatif dalam Film “The Take”Film merupakan media massa yang dapat digunakan untuk menyebarkan ideologi bagi kepentingan kelas dominan, sekaligus menjadi instrumen perlawanan bagi kaum tertindas dengan menghadirkan ideologi tandingan. Film The Take menampilkan tema besar pengambil alihan pabrik dan praktik pengelolaan pabrik tanpa campur tangan pemiliknya sebagai jawaban atas krisis ekonomi yang terjadi di Argentina pada awal 2000an. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan analisis wacana kritis model Teun A. Van Dijk. Analisis wacana dalam penelitian ini terbatas pada level teks dengan menjabarkan struktur makro, superstruktur dan struktur mikro. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya wacana ekonomi alternatif yang dilakukan setelah pengambilalihan pabrik. Para pekerja melakukan pengelolaan pabrik secara bersama dengan menerapkan sistem koperasi sebagai ideologi tandingan atas kapitalisme. Abstract

Azarine Cosmetic is a local brand skincare that was established in 2002 from Sidoarjo, East Java. Azarine Cosmetic appointed Lee Min Ho, an actress from South Korea, as their Brand Ambassador to promote its products to reach the market more widely and made a good image. The final of this study is to describe the influence of Brand Ambassador Lee Min Ho affect to Brand Image Azarine Cosmetic. This study using S-O-R theories as well as explanative quantitative methods by survey and measuring up to 70 respondents. The data analysis using simple linear regression analysis with SPSS 26. The result shows the impact of Brand Ambassador Lee Min Ho's affect Brand Image Azarine Cosmetic at 40%. There is a significant influence between a Brand Ambassador Lee Min Ho and the Brand Image Azarine Cosmetic.

Abstract

Various sectors have developed into the digitalization era, and one of the things in the economy is investment or investment. One of the investment instruments is mutual funds, mutual funds are referred to as the investment instruments of choice for novice investors. One of the mutual fund investment provider applications is Investment Bibit. Various methods are used to increase the number of investors using the Bibit Investment application. one of which is to improve marketing communications by displaying advertisements regarding the Bibit Investment application through various social media. The Bibit application is one of the most downloaded applications by the millennial generation, this is due to the Bibit application being more suitable for novice investors and having features that are easier to understand. Several factors influence someone to use the Bibit application, namely service features. Investment applications that are equipped with service features can facilitate investors. With the appearance of advertisements for the Bibit application through the Youtube Platform and becoming the number one investment application in Indonesia, it is hoped that it will provide information regarding ease of investment in the Bibit investment application and attract students' interest in investing. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of ad exposure to the Investment Bibit application on interest in investing in student mutual funds in the city of Denpasar. The research method uses quantitative descriptive analysis with data collection, namely distributing questionnaires to respondents. The number of samples used in this study amounted to 80 respondents. The data analysis technique used was inferential statistical analysis, namely a simple linear regression test. The results show that exposure to Investment Bibit advertisements through the Youtube platform has a positive effect on mutual fund investment interest among students in Denpasar City, where the value of the t-test is 8.108 with a p-value of 0.00 (<0.05). The emotional indicators show that respondents have a desire to continue investing and feel happy and satisfied when carrying out investment activities. In addition to the encouragement indikator where the respondent has a desire to find out about investment. Keywords: Investment Bibiti, Ad Exposure, Investment Interest.

Abstract

Film is a mass communication medium that is audio-visual in nature and has the aim of conveying certain social and moral message to its audience. The ability of films to infulence audiences is widely used by filmmakers to provide moral message in their films. One of the films that conveys the moral content in it a film entitled “ Nanti Kita Cerita Tentang Hari Ini “. This paper explains in the meaning of morality in films using Roland Barthes’ semantic method. This method focuses on the idea of two levels in signification ( two order of signification ), namely denotation and connotation in the film. The meaning of morality in the film is attached to an urban family, which includes: responsibility, autonomous morality, justice, and mutual forgiveness Kata kunci: Film, Nanti Kita Cerita Tentang Hari Ini, Moral, Semiotics.

Abstract

Pikiran Rakyat Media Network (PRMN) is part of Pikiran-Rakyat.com which was created out of concern over the increasing number of unemployed in Indonesia. Pikiran Rakyat Media Network (PRMN) is here to make a real contribution. PRMN builds a digital media ecosystem that is dedicated to the independence of Indonesian youth, especially in the field of text and video-based content creators. PRMN prepares technology, infrastructure, training, mentoring, to a business plan, to give birth to new entrepreneurs in the field of digital media (Mediapreneur). On August 29, 2021, PRMN came up with the idea that it would start changing the word corrupt in its reporting to thieves, robbers, and looting people’s money. This study uses a quantitative descriptive research method that aims to see the reader’s perception of the word corruption carried out by PRMN. The results of this study indicate that the reader’s perception of the word corruptor gets positive results. Abstract

One of social media that is easy to use to express oneself and interact between users is Instagram. Instagram is the third most used social media platform until January 2021 with the majority of users are teenagers. The application has various features, one of them is the multiple account feature which supports self-disclosure. Instagram users usually do self-disclosure in different places. When you have more than one account, Instagram users tend to present themselves differently on each account. Therefore, there is a phenomenon of Instagram second account which is considered as a relatively safe place to express themselves because it only filled with the closest people. Pontianak City was chosen in this study because Kalimantan is one of the regions with a relatively high level of digital literacy and the era of globalization has touched Pontianak City so that it has influenced Pontianak City youth in using Instagram. this study uses a qualitative research method with dramaturgy theory by Erving Goffman where the main account is the front page and the second account is the back stage. The informants of this research involving 4 Pontianak City teenagers consisting of two boys and two girls. The researcher found that there are several reasons and purposes put forward by the informants for using second Instagram accounts and also there are differences in appearance and identify used in each account.
