Abstract

The research is aimed at understanding the government policies on cultural tourism and pandemic mitigations in Bali made during the covid-19 pandemic. It uses qualitative method in which the primary data were collected through face-to-face and virtual video interviews to seven informants who were selected using purposive sampling to assure they aware of and understand the researched case; and the secondary data were collected from online publications. The research finds the regional regulation on cultural tourism was amended during the Covid-19 outbreak to strengthen the use of local cultures for tourism adapting both national and international tourism policies to lead to a more responsible tourism designating Bali’s local indigenous cultures of Tri Hita Karana and Sad Kerthi as basis of cultural tourism development in Bali; and more importantly, Bali’s government issued particular policies and executed immediate measures to reopen tourism in Bali which totally shut down due to pandemic. These policies reacted differently by local people and remains become a hot debate within Balinese communities.

Abstract

This research to analyze the effect to price and quality product on buying decision of tour package partially and simultanly. The sample used in this study is purposive sampling technique where use 98 respondens of all the domestic tourist. The analysis technique used in this study are analysis descriptive, analysis classic assumption, correlation analysis, analysis regression multiple linear, hypothesis testing (T-test and F-test), analysis of determination, and analysis standardized coefficients beta. The results of this research are analysis show that price (X1) partially has a positive and significant effect on buying decision of tour package at PT. Nusa Devata Bali Holiday Bali which is shown by the positive coefficient of b1x1 regression. Quality product (X2) has a positive and significant effect on buying decision of tour package at PT. Nusa Devata Bali Holiday Bali, this can be seen from the regression coefficient b2x2 which is positive. Other information obtained is that price (X1) and quality product (X2) has a positive and significant influence on buying decision of tour package (Y) at PT. Nusa Devata Bali Holiday Bali, this is confirmed by using the F test obtained F count = 14,429> F table = 3.092 with Sig.F = 0,000 (p <0.05). The amount of influence contributed by price (X1) and quality product (X2) on buying decision (Y) is 23.3%, while the remaining 76.7% is influenced by other variables outside of this observation.

Abstract

Food loss and waste (FLW) is a global issue that affects the environment, economy, and society. It also poses a challenge for the sustainability of Japanese culinary tourism which is a growing sector in Bali. This study aims to explore how a sushi restaurant in Bali especially at The Aburi Sushi Bali manages its FLW and contributes to sustainable culinary tourism. The study adopts a qualitative case study approach, using semi-structured interviews, observation, and document analysis as data collection methods. The findings reveal that The Aburi Sushi implements various strategies to prevent, reduce, and recover FLW, such as inventory management, portion control, menu design, staff training, customer education, and food donation. The study also identifies the benefits and challenges of FLW management for the restaurant and its stakeholders. The study concludes that FLW management enhances the environmental, economic, and social sustainability of culinary tourism enterprises in Bali. It also provides implications and recommendations for practitioners and policymakers to improve FLW management practices in the culinary tourism sector

Abstract

This research discusses enjoying tourist attractions with virtual tourism in Sulangai Village, Bali, especially at Goa Gong waterfall tourist attraction. In the situation of a tourist attraction that is classified as a new category, the Sulangai Village Government chooses virtual tourism as a 4.0 promotional media to increase the number of domestic and foreign tourist arrivals. Tourist visit data from January to July 2022 was used to see changes in the number of tourist arrivals during that period. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method. Data collection was carried out by interview, observation and documentation. The study found out conclusions such as (a). There are tourist attractions, tourist facilities, accessibility, and additional tourist services that are quite adequate, (b). Processing of 360o virtual tour website applications uploaded to a free domain website called wix.com. However, the limitations in this study are (a). There is lack budget for making a 360o virtual tour, (b). Human resources in the IT department of the Sulangai Village Government have not fully mastered the making of 360o virtual tours, and (c). The attractions provided by this object are not enough for 360o video shooting. With this research, it is hoped that virtual tourism can provide a more pleasant and attractive appearance for potential tourists so that it can promote this tourist attraction even further

Abstract

East Duda Village is a village located in Selat District, Karangasem Regency, Bali which is culturally and spiritually filled with the potential for plantations, waterfalls, rolling hills and other tourist attractions. Most of the people make their living as farmers, especially as salak farmers. Apart from that, the economic growth of East Duda Village is also influenced by the tourism sector. The aim of this service is to empower local communities in managing the potential of their villages to support tourism. The implementation methods used in this community service are discussion, interviews, presentations and community service methods. The results of the community service carried out are producing village promotional videos, teaching children in elementary schools, entrepreneurship seminars for MSMEs, Cooking Classes for PKK mothers, Launching Arak Poleng and Community Service in the village environment.

Abstract

The growth of the tourism industry worldwide is increasing followed by the growth of the hotel industry. Hotel management can develop effective strategies to enhance performance and maintain competitive advantages by considering both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation of their employees. This study aims to examine and obtain empirical evidence of the influence of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation on employee performance in the Housekeeping Department at The Stone Legian Bali Autograph Collection Hotel. The research was conducted at The Stone Legian Bali Autograph Collection Hotel with a sample of 88 employees. The sampling technique used in this study was the census method. Data collection was done through distributing questionnaires using a Likert scale with scores ranging from 1 to 5. The data analysis technique employed in this research was multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that Intrinsic Motivation (X1) and Extrinsic Motivation (X2), partially has a positive and significant effect on Employee Performance (Y). Simultaneously, both Intrinsic Motivation (X1) and Extrinsic Motivation (X2) have a positive and significant impact on Employee Performance (Y). Future research is expected to explore additional factors beyond those considered in this study that may influence employee performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of education level and work discipline on employee performance partially and simultaneously. This study uses a quantitative research design with the variables studied: education level, work discipline, and employee performance. The research subjects used all 43 employees who worked at The Udaya Resort & Spa Ubud, which it was called a saturated sample population study. The data collected in this study is the level of education, work discipline, and employee performance. Data were collected by using questionnaires and observation techniques which were then analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis techniques. The analysis results show that (1) education level partially has a positive and significant effect on employee performance at The Udaya Resort & Spa Ubud which is indicated by the results of the regression coefficient b1x1 which is positive. (2) work discipline has a positive and significant effect on employee performance at The Udaya Resort & Spa Ubud, this can be seen from the results of the b2x2 positive regression coefficient. (3) education level and work discipline have a positive and significant effect on employee performance at The Udaya Resort & Spa Ubud.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse marketing strategies using the STP (segmentation, targeting, and positioning) approach and the marketing mix strategy analysed through the 7Ps, namely product, price, place, promotion, people, physical evidence, and process at Taman Mumbul Sangeh tourist attraction. This research is descriptive in nature, employing data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation studies. Based on the analysis, two main conclusions can be drawn: (1) the marketing strategy based on STP focuses more on domestic tourists, who are predominantly aged between 12 and 70 years, with marketing promotions conducted through social media platforms like Instagram and word-of-mouth; and (2) Taman Mumbul Sangeh offers unique tourist products such as pancoran solas (purification), Taman Mumbul temple, and a large pond, which are distinctive features of Taman Mumbul Sangeh that should be preserved and maintained. The pricing strategy should be competitive in the market. Marketing efforts utilise social media platforms and word-of-mouth, while also raising community awareness to participate in promoting Taman Mumbul Sangeh tourist attraction.

Indonesia's tourism and hospitality industry is experiencing dynamic growth, necessitating innovative strategies to harness its full potential. This issue addresses key aspects crucial for sustainable and effective development. Topics include the potential of East Lombok's hotel industry, marketing strategies to boost occupancy at The Jayakarta Lombok Beach Resort, and destination marketing for Taman Mumbul in Sangeh. Sustainable tourism on Sumba Island is explored through cultural and natural resource utilization, while GIS-based approaches identify tourism potential in West Lombok's diverse landscapes. Additionally, enhancing teamwork through supervisory strategies at Bhira Restaurant, Denpasar, offers insights into improving service quality. These articles collectively provide strategic frameworks for increasing tourist engagement, supporting local economies, and promoting sustainability. The insights are designed to inspire research, collaboration, and practical implementation to strengthen Indonesia’s tourism sector in a competitive global market.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of leadership and communication on employee performance at Maya Ubud Resort and Spa Gianyar-Bali, partially and simultaneously. This study used stratified random sampling because it randomly selected 38 of the 269 employees of Maya Ubud Resort and Spa in each department. The data obtained was analysed with validity, reliability, classical assumption tests, correlation analysis, multiple linear regression analysis, and hypothesis testing (T and F tests), which were processed with SPSS 24 for Windows. The results of this study indicated that leadership partially had a positive and significant effect on employee performance at Maya Ubud Resort and Spa, with a t-count of 2.184, which was bigger than the t-table, which was 2.030, and a significance value of 0.036, which was smaller than 0.05. Second, communication partially had a positive and significant effect on employee performance at Maya Ubud Resort and Spa, with a t-count of 3.745, which was bigger than the t-table, which was 2.030, and a significance value of 0.001, which was smaller than 0.05. Leadership and communication simultaneously had a positive and significant effect on employee performance at Maya Ubud Resort and Spa. This was indicated by the f-count of leadership and communication being 10.090, which was bigger than the f-table, which was 3.260, and the significance value of 0.000, which was smaller than 0.05. The coefficient of determination showed that the contribution of leadership and communication to employee performance was 36.6%, while the remaining 63.4% was affected by other variables not examined in this study.
